Bucky spent two years tutoring Steve in secret to help him graduate and get scholarships.
He had a family, he had money, and even though he didn't have a lot of friends, the ones he did have were genuine. Steve had nothing. His family was falling apart, his friends wouldn't have given a shit about him if it weren't for the popularity he brought.
He never laid a hand on Bucky himself. Never said a cruel word to him. But he stood there, hands in his pockets, watching while it happened. And when he graduated, he never spoke to Bucky again.
14 years later Bucky's just earned his PHD, working as a Zoologist. Steve is recently stepped back from the spotlight as a pro boxer to open his own gym.
They meet again by chance.

Natasha is struggling to put more people in her life. She never had to do that with Clint and Percy. They understood her without explaining herself, but Steve is different. He is from a different time, he doesn't know about her past. She struggles in forming a bond with a person who is vastly different from her.
