Ever since Lillian’s disappearance, they’d been so paranoid about letting him do anything. They hadn’t even wanted him to become a newsie in the first place.
He wades through the sea of newsies, trying to start the walk home, when something catches his eye.
A crooked nose and a smile just like his.
He spots her in the crowd from at least thirty feet away, which should be impossible.
