This story moves between two timelines: the past, where the apprentice is learning magic with Asra, and slowly grows close to Muriel while Asra keeps his feelings to himself and runs off on his long trips…
And the present, where Asra and Muriel struggle with grief and what’s been left unsaid after the apprentices death and resurrection.MC/The apprentice is gender neutral, and unnamed 🔆
The story will start when Asra returns to Vesuvia with a heavy heart, having learned that the apprentice died while he was away.
After the apprentice is resurrected, both Muriel and Asra are faced with a new challenge… the apprentice has no memory of either of them. Between awkward introductions, small moments of connection, and learning to trust again, the three of them have to figure out how to move forward holding onto the slim hope that the apprentice will learn to love both of them again.
A canon-compliant mix of angst, fluff, slow-burn romance, and a happy ending.
The chapters in the ‘before’ timeline will not be in any specific order and will just follow old happy fluffy memories. Whereas the chapters in the ‘after’ will likely be in more chronological order.

I was reading fics and thinking of my main three Mc's and how differently Asra would need to approach them and how their relationship would form. So each chapter is going to be written from each of their POV however I will be keeping them GN and use MC instead of their names. Only the chapter title will have the Oc's name everything else will be kept as vague as possible so that you can imagine your oc with whichever character they closest match up with.
