The stained glass is lit up by the first light, bright and vivid, casting hues all over the decaying interior like some giant kaleidoscope. It's strange how the stained windows are not destroyed at all. There are some cracks but nothing is smashed. Sykkuno is glad, it's super pretty. He gasps and sighs at the sight, eyes rowing over all the different color spots skating over the broken pews and cold walls. “‘S beautiful. Makes this decaying beast look alive again.” He murmurs softly, melting a little at the beams of colorful light reflecting through the dustmotes flying in the air.
“My favorite sight.” The stranger quietly agrees.

Sykkuno shuddered in the heavy rains, feeling increasingly like a drenched cat as his hair pasted itself to his forehead and his clothes to his skin. He could feel the fever coming on already. It usually had the decency to wait until he had returned home from the cons he attended, but this time, it hit even before the last panels. At least, it wasn't far from the restaurant where they’d had dinner to the hotel - a three minute walk had seemed like just the thing, and he'd wanted to get some rest, and see if it cleared up whatever this was. The others had gone along to a bar, but Toast had insisted Sykkuno give him one of his room keys, to check on him later.

Out of all of the possible jobs you could get in the beautiful city of Manburg, the best you could possibly hope for would be a position in the hero’s tower. Though being in the town square, close to the town hall and other villain targets, it’s oddly peaceful inside the tower. There could be a villain-hero fight just outside the doors, hell, even in the lobby and nobody aside from those in the fight could be bothered. The security is fantastic, none of the staff (aside from the heroes who get into fights) ever get hurt. Good hours, great pay, amazing benefits, it’s the perfect job!
At least that’s what the brochures sat on the counter said, from the parts Tommy was able to read from his spot behind the cash register of a trendy-looking bookstore. Don’t be mistaken, Tommy loves his job, he thinks it’s amazing, and his boss is very kind.
