Summary
The Horizon Collective reels after HORUS attacks one of their Long Rim safehouses. Several people are killed, and young adult Cora is left physically and emotionally scarred.
When she sees an emergency call for activists that looks like a one-way ticket out of her life, she volunteers. Instead of getting her death wish, she receives surgery to become ontologically linked with the region's most infamous unshackled NHP, Teotl, and its other human partner, Sky.
Despite the inherent dangers of her new life with Teotl and Sky moving freed NHPs to safety, there's an unexpected amount of love to be found there.
