Summary
To strip yourself temporarily of personhood is how you’ve always survived this. Pretending to everyone and even yourself you are just as untarnishable as the real heroes. It’s a lot easier when you can believe it yourself. When the suit is there to fall back into and be hugged in its embrace and safety. Most people when they lose their support aren’t unlucky enough to be thrust immediately into the open jaws of the media. You’ve never been described as lucky.
