Warm light begins to bleed across the vast, open fields and trickles in through the windshield, reaching towards them. The windows are open a crack, and the crisp morning air feels good in their lungs. Dean taps away at the wheel, humming along to his cassettes, while Sam sits with a thick book of lore open on his lap, brainstorming theories for the hunt ahead.
“Hey,” Dean says, pulling Sam’s attention away from his work. He nods towards the window, gesturing to a rickety, old building slumped alone on the side of the highway. “You remember that?”

A very deliberate, controlled motion lets him pop up the contact details of the text with the intention of auto-dialing the number, and he does a double-take because the number associated with the text isn’t Amelia’s.

I've decided to start an art styled series that hopefully fanfics- both self-written and inspiration for you guys - can come out of. this is a prime example of the classic, default Winchester-style form of coping with both physical and mental obstacles; distraction. Trial-enveloped-sleep-deprived Sam Winchester can’t sleep between the headaches and the bloody coughs, and Dean is happy to entertain him in the bunker's bat-cave; as unenthusiastic as Sam may be.
i had way to much time to make this, but I guess that's an upside to chronic illness lol (CRMO ladies and gents where are you??). I hope to continue this series, though the consistency will vary, so don’t hold your breath for scheduled updates.

Sam doesn’t know what he was expecting. He finishes cleaning himself off. He doesn’t have any clean clothes, so he has to wear a towel on the walk back to his room. He shouldn’t have said anything, he thinks as he shuffles down the empty halls of the bunker, shivering and damp, having to brace himself against the walls to stay upright.
At least then, Dean wouldn’t have left. He would’ve been cared for for the rest of the night, wouldn’t be alone and cold. Sam laughs to himself. Stay warm and cared for and helpless under Dean’s suffocating love or stand on his own two feet, alone. His entire life has been marked by his inability to choose.
Or Sam attempts to fix things between him and Dean.
