Summary
Rumor has it that the head of the Northland Manor is a vampire.
Well, not necessarily a rumor, but Il Dottore--a researcher obsessed with his work on mythical creatures--is quite certain its master is indeed not only a vampire, but the elusive vampire lord he's been searching for. With a convenient excuse to stay at the manor for a few months and a plan to gather as much as he can before acting, Dottore sets off to maneuver himself as close to the master as he can possibly get in such a short time frame. In order to achieve his wish, Dottore finds himself wrapped up not only with Master Pantalone, but also into a scheme much grander and more beneficial than he'd ever hoped for. One which Pantalone is all too eager to invite him into.

Of course the Doctor had to be the first to greet him, the most unpredictable out of the group. He watched the man, observing the way his lips formed into a smirk, the rest of his face hidden by that mask.
“I heard you’d be in charge of finances.”
Pantalone poorly suppressed an exasperated sigh, his hands twitched. He’d hardly been a harbinger for an hour, and he was already being hounded for funding. How pleasant.
“Ah, you absolutely heard right, I will be handling all funding and finances starting tomorrow.”
He made sure to enunciate ‘starting tomorrow’, so this man didn't think he’d be trying to use this time for some sort of unscheduled financial meeting. Trying to discuss numbers and percentages among drunken minimum wage workers would deplete what little patience he had left too quickly.

In other words, Pantalone catches Dottore's eye on his first day as a harbinger, and he asks him for a dance.
