The history between Ugin, Nahiri, and Sorin is a complex weave of betrayals, errant trust, and misgivings, but only those that were there know how deep those scars run.
(Canon rewrite/re-adaptation of Ugin, Nahiri, & Sorin's intertwining storylines with more emphasis on them as characters and their relationships, not necessarily what they specifically did. For the angst! (Sorin & Nahiri's relationship more than anything, but Ugin does become important early on and in later, currently unreleased, chapters.)
Also, the note in my tags about the &s being not for shipping isn't a jab at people who do ship these things - I personally don't see it, but I just wanted to clarify that so people didn't get into this expecting something that wasn't here, you get it!) -

“Oh, hello. Are you from this plane?” A person leans over from the side of Bolas' portal. They appear to be tinkering with it, though Jace doesn’t bother to try and guess how.
“Um. Sort of. I mean, yes, basically.” He clears his throat. “Yes, I’m from here. Uh, not to be rude, but who exactly are you?”
The person gives him a quick sort of smile before returning their attention to the tinkering. “I’m Chromium Rhuell. You probably haven’t heard of me, but I’m guessing you’ve heard of at least one of my brothers.”
“Okay,” Jace says slowly. The name actually does sound a bit familiar. It makes him think of Dominaria. “Who are your brothers?”
“Well, technically I have three living brothers, but I doubt you know Arcades. Do the names Ugin or Nicol Bolas ring any bells?”
Alright, he was wrong before. Now he doesn’t understand anything at all.

An absurd but sincere fix-it fic immediately following "The Gathering Storm" and cutting the War of the Spark novels off before they have a chance to make a very bad story. -

(Canon-divergent AU - Chandra, Vraska, and Jace just went to the Meditation Plane to ask Ugin how Nicol Bolas escaped it. Ugin had dropped the barriers to entering the plane since Bolas had escaped it already.
All the way up to Dominaria United's most recent events have transpired, but some details have been changed, and if you hadn't gathered from the previous statement, Nicol Bolas has recently made a reappearance as well, having escaped from the Meditation Plane via the help of an imperceptible Planeswalker.
Additionally, although it was Bolas who used the Elderspell during the War of the Spark, in this AU, it was Ugin that created it and Bolas merely stole it from his brother's mind during their final confrontation. Ugin never got the chance to use it because Bolas prevented him from doing so via mindmagic.)Ugin has spent thousands of years trying to find ways to stop his brother, but it never seems to be enough - like a specter of his brother instead, Bolas refuses to die. Ugin reflects on why he's so secretive with those that have risen to face Nicol's threat, and how he fears the cycle of battling Nicol will never truly be over, no matter what he gives in the name of Nicol's destruction.

A really shitty parody of Greg Weisman's novels and writing style told from the point of view of Ral, Jace, Vraska, Teysa, Tomik, and a Boros angel trying to unravel the mysteries of this new dystopian society. But the threat of Bolas's return looms on the horizon after everyone fucks up. There are also a lot of weird sex scenes. -

A crack formed in the archmage dragon Nicol Bolas's plan to ascend to godhood: Jace Beleren escaped his trap. And with him, the remnants of Liliana Vess. Until the other planeswalkers held captive by the Immortal Sun on Dominaria can get off world, it's up to them to unite the guilds of Ravnica and prepare for the coming siege on their city. But that'll be a bit of a problem with the guilds beginning to doubt in their absent guildpact and blame for several murder being tossed around like a burning skillet.
This is the last part of "fixing" mtg lore I'm doing. I wanna work on more out there ideas I have like Road to Ravnica and some other works I'm brewing up and I'm also working on an original story based in a world I built out of boredom while I was concussed.
