Summary
A rewrite of the original fanfic by the same name, https://archiveofourown.to/works/56018794/chapters/142275616. The fanfiction had been written prior to the events or before Tangled the series had started, therefore why the fanfic explores Marcellus, Quirin and Varian. The story starts when Quirin finds out about a male named Marcellus who was abused by his parents, and later told that he was abused by the orphanage by the king and queen after he took Marcellus to get adopted by him. This is where Marcellus stays with Quirin and Varian as part of their family in Old Corona, and that's where the story begins with Marcellus's journey through "recovery".

Summary
Life has never been easy for anyone, especially for Varian. He seemed to be cursed or something. Even though he doesn’t like to base his explanation on magic, his life did seem to be affected by it. Especially since the black rocks appeared. Ever since then he was acting out of character, getting mad more often and having trouble sleeping. But the moment he talked to Rapunzel and promised to help with the rocks, everything fell apart.
But now a new opportunity has shown. He could find a way to free his dad and get rid of the rocks. And he could find all of that by just… going on an adventure?
OR; Varian joins the gang in season 2 and he meets Hugo there. ^^
