Summary
Harry and Draco are best friends. They spend a lot of time together and understand each other at a deep level. They have a large friend group, Draco loves living with the Tonks family and things are good.
Except neither of them are out to their families, and there's a Basilisk roaming the halls petrifying students. Draco finds it hard to cope with school and Harry is constantly anxious.
But it's fine! They support each other and their friends. Surely nothing can go wrong?

Draco Malfoy had always known he was different. Lights were too bright, noises were too loud, eye contact made him want to claw his eyes out. His father had always told him to stop being silly, followed by a sharp slap with his cane to shut Draco up.
The first person he ever met who didn't seem to mind him being himself was the small boy with vibrant green eyes he met in a shop.
Harry Potter had grown up surrounded by love. His father had adopted him when he was a baby and since then all he had known was care and love. When he got his Hogwarts letter, he was overjoyed to learn that his father would be coming to school with him as a potions master. Everything was perfect.
Harry Potter met a boy with silver eyes and white-blonde hair in a shop. This boy was kind and blunt, sharp and soft, brave but so scared to go home. Soon, he occupies all of Harry's thoughts.
Throughout tears and meltdowns, pain and grief, the two boys find moments of solace in each other and forge a bond that is as unique as it is dangerous. In a world where being queer is basically a crime, will this relationship survive though the second wizarding war?

Ingress Lestrange was a weird boy. Truly, what with his characteristic wavey raven hair that was like a curtain down to his waist save for showing his pale face? With high checks and regal baby-blue eyes that seemed to frequently scare people, he was a looker.

“Regulus, there is a basilisk in Harry’s room,” James sounded nervous as he inched forward, approaching where Regulus was hovering possessively over the coffee pot. Slowly, Regulus took a long sip of the black coffee before setting the mug on the counter and turning to his ex.
“Your son is a parsel. Of course he has snakes in his room,” Regulus glared and gave an unimpressed wave of his hand, but James shook his head insistently.
“No! No, Regulus. A Boomslang was a lot, and the sun room is still full of snakes. I was okay with those, if it meant Harry was happy. But a basilisk?!” James whisper-screeched.
“Jamie,” Regulus groaned, already fed up with the conversation for how early in the morning it was. James lit up under Regulus’ annoyed gaze. “Are you going to be able to handle what I am about to tell you?"
