Dumb crack AU where Light gets a job at a grocery store. Totally Americanized grocery store because I don’t know much about Japanese grocery shopping, so this is all based on, more or less, “what if Light worked at Wal-Mart” or something. Before signing up for the police academy, his father insists he learn more responsibility and gets him a job at a local grocery store. With his narcissism and god complex, this is a difficult job for the future police officer. No Death Notes at all. No Shinigami...or are there? Light isn’t Kira. There is no Kira. L bashing. If you like L, stay away. Light/Mikami-ness. Cameos by many characters. Dollars instead of yen, because I don’t get it. Still takes place in Japan...but things are written from my obviously American perspective. Few years AFTER Light graduates but before he joins the police. Also, Near’s dragon plushie is an allusion to another character his voice actress plays in My Little Pony.
Unfinished, unlikely to be finished. Enjoy what's written. Meant to be stupid.

My take on death note, except many of the characters are genderbent versions of themselves.
Light Yagami has played the role of the perfect student well, but it's become terribly boring. She uses a magical notebook, the death note, to try and fix the world, while an odd lady detective tries to catch her and a fledgling actor tries his best to earn her affection.
This is the updated version of Blue Moon, which I began and then abandoned in 2017...
