“Lan Zhan, you have to leave,” Wei Wuxian found himself saying, although this time it sounded less like an order and more like a complaint.
“I can stay today,” Lan Wangji offered as he resumed his hair petting.
“This won’t be well received,” Wei Wuxian stated, matter-of-factly. He did not need to specify by whom, because not a single person in the cultivation world would actually receive that information well.
“Even by Wei Ying?”
Wei Wuxian took a deep breath and rested his forehead against Lan Wangji’s shoulder. His heart shouldn’t be beating in the pace it was, it did not seem healthy.
“Lan Zhan, you can’t just say things like that,” his breathing was open-mouthed now. “Without any sort of warning, with such a thick face.”
“Do you want me to stop?”
“God, no.”
