I remember when I’d ask him what was wrong and he’d smile and say ‘Oh, it’s nothing—Let’s go back to the planet that’s as cool and blue as me.’ Not that him downplaying his feelings is any better than pushing them away, but at least he used to acknowledge them; acknowledge me. I remember when I knew how to help him.
Sonic bathes in the setting sun with half-lidded eyes, a hint of a familiar scowl grazing his face. He sighs deeply through his nose, absolutely deflating with the loss of breath, as he casts his eyes away from the clouds, locking onto a blend of nothing. I tilt my head to study him, and when his eyes swim to mine, he doesn’t look away.

A meandering narrative following the Oh No, Not Again, her eclectic crew, and her captain.
Captain Emory McArthur considers his greatest flaw to care too much. His First Mate, Tabitha Cole, and veteran of the war against Hell, completely agrees. He would take anything on without regard for his own safety but, fortunately, draws the line at the safety of his crew. This includes one young person with a rash, one devil with a bounty on him, a clay man who looks particularly tragic, and a man who is only mostly not a mushroom within the span of a year but, to the ship cat's relief, not an engineer with things that pretend to be cats. ... Yet.
The narratives for some of the canon crew (such as the Driver and the Conductor) take a different turn than their canon plotlines, while the narratives for others (such as the Repentant Devil) follow more closely. Canon narratives are... more like guidelines.

An aspect of Sonic and Amy’s relationship that I’ve actually always really liked is whenever Sonic’s entirely caught off guard by Amy’s genuine affection.
I don’t mean whenever she’s physically affectionate, or whenever she exasperates him with her cheeky teasing because Sonic is more than well-adjusted and accepting of these behaviours. Rather, I mean whenever Amy slows down and does something to indicate or just tells him outright how much she loves him for him. The rarity of these moments, coupled with Sonic’s emotional privacy, tends to bring out rawer emotions like shock, bashfulness, and admiration. Moments like these are definitely more Sonic’s speed (ironically), and I feel this is why he’s more likely to show his reciprocation and “come around” (because he definitely is reciprocating, albeit not in the same way that Amy does). Sonic’s guard is struck down in these interactions, and his surprise and awe tend to speak for themselves.
This, to me, encompasses everything that makes Sonic and Amy's relationship special. This is my personal take on the relationship and the character bases from which I write my creative works.

Midoriya Izuku has always been written off as weird. As if it's not bad enough to be the quirkless weakling, he has to be the weird quirkless weakling on top of it.
But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.
Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.
