Summary
The crippling anxiety he felt daily at boarding school taught Tim his lesson: people like him don't get to have friends. He gets tolerated from a distance at best, snubbed at worst. And he's accepted that.
Well... if following your heroes with a camera and imagining what it would be like to befriend them counts as a stage of acceptance.
But the last thing he wants is to actually meet the Bats and bring everything crashing down. He couldn't take it if the people he admires most caught wind of that "thing" inside him that wards off even his parents. So he keeps his distance.
(Spoiler alert: that plan of action was always going to fail.)
In which I give Tim an unhealthy dose of social anxiety with bad coping mechanisms, but he also gets an absolute QUEEN of a nanny, so am I really being *that* mean all things considered?
