If Sanji had to make a list of people he would prefer having live right next door to his dorm, it would look like something this:
1. Women of any sort.
2. A carpenter with short deadlines and no noise curfew.
3. A group of rabid dogs, none of which are from the same litter, all aggressively territorial.
4. A bulldozer.
5. Two bulldozers.HILARIOUS start. like i was GAGGED opening the fic and expecting a tame beginning. this was like a punch to the gut but the best kind. oh my god i knew i had to be seated immediately
And oh, yes, that certainly peaks Sanji’s interest. The who, the why. The what. What is a Torao, Sanji wonders.

“I was,” Zoro grits out.
Sanji rolls his eyes – who cares about that? Algae thrive in dim lighting, he’ll fall right back into it if he has a desk lamp on.

“Yeah, her hair is really orange,” Luffy agrees, then starts laughing without cure because Usopp has started arranging the tangerine slices on his tray to look like a portrait of Nami. There’s a joke in there about how soil also means poop. Usopp explains it to Luffy, and now they’re inconsolable.

“Luffy, hey,” Sanji intervenes, snaps his fingers in his face till Luffy goes cross eyed. “Torao?” As in, who is he, as in, no, literally, my sanity depends on your answer, who the hell is the guy.
“Oh, Torao!” Luffy chirps again. An orange slice falls off his head and on the table, splattering a bit of its juice onto Sanji’s face. “Yeah, yeah, he’s my friend!”
It’s probably some sort of karmic retribution leftover from his past life, Sanji reasons. The bit of flying orange juice that got into his eye stinging him to the point of temporary blindness; Luffy’s inability to give straightforward answers in times of urgency; how the school served undercooked spinach today so it’s still leafy enough that when Usopp puts it on his head and crosses his arms, he really does kind of look like Zoro.
Sanji doesn’t deserve this! He’s kind and does his homework and makes raspberry biscuits for the pretty guidance counsellor and… and damn it, the Zoro impression is really good.
