Summary
"You are gathered here today because the world is going to end within the next three years," Hermione said succinctly. "But my husband, having died before, is in no hurry to do so again. We are here to try and save wizard kind itself." A Harry Potter/Battlestar Galactica Crossover, with a touch of 2012 fused in for the fun of it. Obviously not Epilogue Compliant.

Completed As of August 2019: 33 Chapters, 140,082 Words
This is a "Harry Potter" fic, and that's the only series for which you'll need at least passing familiarity in order to enjoy this story. Harry is introduced to both the minimal "2012" and ultimately greater "Battlestar Galactica" elements just as we readers are. So, we learn everything about this Magical/Sci-fi blended universe right along with Harry. It is a lot of fun to explore.
The gist of the story is that the Earth is about to be destroyed by natural, unstoppable causes (just as in "2012," which cataclysmic natural disaster is the sole crossover element from the "2012" movie), and so Harry and co. begin to develop an escape plan, which will ultimately result in them discovering the "Battlestar Galactica" story elements.
That blending of science with magic is one of my favorite, most beloved story elements. This author specifically warns against taking the science too literally, and such license allows for an enormously fun yarn.

Bookmarker's Notes
Every one of DisobedienceWriter's stories deserve recommendations and fangirl/fanboy flailing. This is a more recently finished example of the author's excellence.
I love how so much of the potential, the whimsy, the delightful possibilities of magic are explored here — by a curious, bright Harry — as compared to the more streamlined, succinct magic and magical settings that we find in HP canon.
(Honestly, that's not a criticism of Jo or her books; it's just that her F.B. movies have a different focus, which resulted in the best scenes of magical potential actually occurring in the Fantastic Beasts movies vs. The HP books and movies.).
So if you really enjoy fantasy, new magics, magic studied from an almost scientific POV, exploration and adventuring, you need to read all of this author's works, and especially this gem. This is not at all a rehash of canon with hardly any fanfic changes made. On the contrary — this story depicts a whole new, exciting, beautiful, terrifying world.
Also, IDK why the author has listed this as a Mature rating. Some teenage cursing...maybe?? I would read this to my own kids.

Summary
Darcy Lewis had a secret.
Well ok, it wasn’t a secret from everybody, because of course her whole family knew and Jane knew. She was pretty sure that Thor suspected, at the very least, but they hadn’t really talked about it yet. SHIELD most definitely did not know, and would hopefully never find out, because Darcy was not an idiot.
Darcy Lewis was a witch. From a very long line of witches.
Of course, nothing stays a secret in Stark Tower for long.

Bookmarker's Notes
I just love absolutely everything about this story, except the fact that it's incomplete. The plot is just so lovely. And there's so much tactile input, like the descriptions of how certain potions ingredients smell or look, how sigils help eliminate nightmares or grant protection and warm, huggy sensations. It's all so soothing and fascinating simultaneously. There's no angst, and lots of my favorite story element are included, such as magic being used in a scientific way. The science of magic makes everything so FUN.
The story is incomplete, but it doesn't stop on a cliffhanger. It feels like things were winding down, plot wise, and that a happy ending was just a chapter of two away.
Excerpt: "...we figured that Buck could get married and that then I could stay with him, and as far as the neighborhood would be concerned, I'd be the bachelor who stayed with his friend because he wasn’t well enough to live alone. ...we always hoped that we’d find a girl for both of us—that was comfortable with both of us, together—even if Bucky was the one she married to keep up appearances.”
"...Bucky and I would go on double dates with girls and we had a system where if he thought that one of the girls might be good for the both of us, he’d call her doll."

Amazing quality, extremely well-written, with well-developed plot and characterizations. I especially love all the created backstory for side characters, the inclusion of various religions' influence on the wizarding world, Hermione is Jewish, and complex character motivations among the Black family — they aren't just automatically evil. No child is born irredeemably evil. This explains why so many of the purebloods are evil. the pureblood wizarding community are all related and half of them love Voldemort—Let's explore those miserable civil war implications. Because it sounds horribly heartbreaking.

Summary
Darcy is drawn to the forest outside her family home as surely as she is drawn to the magic that sings in her blood. Steve wants to find meaning beyond the provincial life he's designed for himself, starting with the wolf he saved in the woods as a child. Bucky has all but forgotten his humanity, until the call of two souls tames the beast inside him.
No one ever said happily ever after would be simple.

Bookmarker's Notes
I come back to this addictive, entrancing story a lot. It captivates my imagination. There is a gentleness woven throughout the narrative, but it's especially present in Darcy's depiction. Her firecracker personality and hidden strengths are also very present. Each of the characters, in fact are recognizably like their canon depictions, although they are perfectly adapted to this magical world. Each of them is perfectly fitted to their fairy tale setting.
chaoticTransmissions is one of my favorite authors for this pairing. I love the way they show that polyamory would be far more complex than merely saying "...and then they all sexed happily ever after!" This is an author who pays attention to the unique challenges such a scenario would bring. Their great writing skills make it a delight to see what happens when one combines chaoticTransmissions' nuanced character insights, a creative, sharp imagination, and a curiosity that never stops asking, "What if..?"

Bookmarker's Notes
Really, really creative and exciting story. I've read this over and over, more times than I can count.
The plot centers around finding a way for a political marriage to be called off in a way that doesn't provoke a war. That makes this story so much more fascinating than a mere baby!fic or romance. There's also this squee-able element of the story that includes Darcy as a middle class, middle-income, working mom who suddenly has a royal romance that includes jewels, mansions, and expensive, high fashion being abruptly thrust upon our bewildered heroine. This story ticks so many boxes for me. Honestly, I love this far more than the book, "The Royal We," because this story does a better job of selling the romance between our spunky, average girl and a prince who can be a jackass sometimes. (I mean, so can we all.)
