Whether the prophecy could finally be fulfilled by this boy, she could not say, but it was clear the spirits wanted him to hear it. He jolted in surprise, then leaned forward with an eager grin. The fire danced in the reflection of his eyes. “Really? The spirits said that? Exactly that?”

The prophecy’s hum finally went quiet.
