The boy’s eyes flashed with indignation.
“Imaginary friend?” he repeated, his tone dripping with offense. He took a step closer, his bare feet barely making a sound against the soft grass. “I hate to break it to you, but if anyone’s imaginary here, it’s probably you.”
Hadrian let out a scoff.
“That’s absurd.”
“Oh, is it?” The boy gestured around them. “We’re standing in a dream, genius. Neither of us is exactly in a position to be calling the other imaginary.”

Gotham claws its way into the hearts of its children and leaves oil-smears on their souls. For Danny Fenton, he is no different and no better than the rest of his fellow kids of Crime Alley. It doesn't matter if he's been gone since he was eleven. Blood has always been a part of him, so it's second nature for him to pick up his fists and turn them into claws. It's how he's been taught, after all.
