This is a pretty angst-heavy take on Artisaint, and has some manipulation and other stuff going on, with heavy emphasis on the characters and how they change throughout. Don't expect fluff for a good bit of this, it's meant to tug. on the heartstrings.

Summary
They could never understand how close he was, close to the solution, to true freedom. In one fell swoop, they ruined it all for him. Fine, he would fix this himself, he did not need them. He did not need his friends, he always preferred to work alone, it helped himself focus.
With nothing but time, Pebbles is determined to find the solution to the Rot.
Now, if only the local rodent would stop bothering him...

Kayava Academy -- a small school known for its mix of students, ranging from the smallest slugcats to the lankiest scavengers. Watcher, a rather shy and asocial slugcat, is finally returning for 9th grade. Their friends are all here still -- Survivor, Hunter, Monk -- and they're just as excited to reunite with their old friend as Watcher is. Always the observant one, however, Watcher can tell something isn't quite right.
