Summary
In which I attempt to answer the question: what if Thorin and Bilbo met before the formation of the Company? How does their first meeting change when there is no dangerous quest looming over them? (A partial AU where most of the canon events happen the same way except they are married the entire time).
I have all ten chapters outlined and most of them will include prompts from a Year of Bagginshield. Expect updates about once a month (I hope!).

Summary
Almost two years after the Battle of the Five Armies, Thorin asks Bilbo to return to the mountain with the excuse of needing a "Hobbit-Dwarf Relations Advisor." What that entails, the king has no clue, but he is willing to make up a fake title and job just to get the chance to make amends with the hobbit and, in time, make his deep affections known. Unbeknownst to Thorin, Bilbo is already madly in love with him. Through a series of ridiculous cultural miscommunications, Bilbo finds himself engaged to the King Under the Mountain, while at the same time, Thorin is heartbroken that the hobbit, his heart's desire, has found love in another.
~ A subverted version of the "Bilbo is married/engaged to Thorin in the ways of dwarves and doesn't know it" trope. Inspired by the omitted information from The Hobbit that reads, "curious habit in [hobbit] weddings. They kept it (always officially and very often actually) a dead secret for years who they were going to marry, even when they knew. Then they suddenly went and got married and went off without an address for a week or two (or even longer)." ~

With Thorin and his nephews grievously wounded, Bilbo takes charge. Surprisingly, the dwarves let him. Unsurprisingly, things get complicated.

Summary
Bilbo Baggins was doing just fine, until that meddlesome wizard showed up at his door and shoved him out of his beloved and peaceful Bag End - and right into the arms of a particular, maddening, (in every sense of that word), dwarf. Who, as if it just couldn't get any worse, happens to be the King Under the Mountain. As Bilbo is tasked with the seemingly overwhelming duty of educating the two young princes of Erebor, he needs to learn how to navigate not only the foreign environment of the Kingdom Under the Mountain, but also the Dwarven royal court and most importantly, his own heart.
All the while, the political intricacies between Erebor and the Iron Hills are growing tense and might thrust the hobbit into a much larger role than anyone would have wished for.

Summary
Whilst he was searching his home for useful supplies his head had come up with a set theories of what was going on here:
1.he was had actually reached the grey heaven and this was just his own version of afterlife where he as set back into his 50 year old body and the company Gandalf had talked about were the souls of his dead friends would welcome him back into their circle.
2. (This one made him worry) He had somehow travelled back in time (or was granted a second chance and was basically reborn?) and would now be reliving the entirety of the quest that he had set off to over seventy years ago.
Deep in his soul he could feel that he was hoping it to be the latter, even if he would never admit that.Bilbo has to to it all over again. Every beautiful thing and every horrible.
But can he do that without loosing himself in the progress and is he able to succsessfully save the ones he once lost???----
basically ur typical time travel "fix it" but i'd like to focus on the angsty part of it so :) yippie(tags will be added in the process)
