    Life has been, for lack of a better term, rough after Sonic gets back from Camelot. He misses what life was - the things, the people, his knights, his subjects. As it turns out, adjusting to your "everyday" life is very hard after you've spent what you could've sworn was a whole different life. His friends are starting to get worried, considering the obvious changes in his demeanor. After dancing around the topic for a while, a conversation with Silver regarding the inaccuracies of history prompts Sonic to talk to Blaze about what it means to rule, how to let go, and dumb royalty traditions.

    Sonic the Hedgehog.
    He goes by many names, takes on many roles. To those closest to him, he’s the best friend you could ask for. To those who challenge him, he’s a force to be reckoned with. To most of the world, he’s a hero, a legend to rival the days of old.
    If you were to ask Sonic himself, he would say he’s no one special.
    He’s wrong.
    He knows he’s wrong. He knows he’s special in ways he doesn’t yet understand. It’s hard to ignore when the chaos emeralds thrum constantly in the back of his head, reminding him of the role he’s meant to fill. The role he rejects every time he borrows their power.
    When the time comes, he will accept, because that’s just who he is. For now, he tries to live life like he always has, because there comes a day when he will no longer be able to ignore what lies ahead of him.
    Tell him, how does he make the most of the moment when the moment lasts eternity?

    (AKA: The chaos emeralds claim Sonic as their guardian, essentially turning him into a god. Now, he has to deal with the implications of that— and immortality.)

    Part of Sonic the Hedgehog Big Bang 2025!

    Shortly after the Eclipse Cannon explodes into a supernova, a fallen star lands in the woods surrounding Green Hills, Montana. On a late-night run, Sonic discovers a confused, singed (but very much alive), Shadow. Luckily, he knows the perfect place for a down-on-his-luck hedgehog to recuperate without being spotted- that is, if he can convince Shadow to accept the help. Slowly, the cave that was once just a decaying monument to past-lives becomes something more, a living representation of fresh starts and healing wounds.

    The Space Colony ARK was supposed to create the Ultimate Lifeform. They made three prototypes, out of three different DNA stabilizers. And when the ARK was attacked, all three were sent to the planet below. GUN only found one. But once he was released, intent to avenge the family he lost, finding the other survivors may become the only way to save the planet.

    Sonic, meanwhile, woke up confused, scared, and having missed fifty years of progress. He doesn't know why a man who looks like the Professor is destroying the planet, or why everyone is telling him that Shadow can't be trusted. Shadow would never hurt anyone... right? And if he did, would Sonic be powerful enough to stop him? Would he be able to bring himself to do it?

    ARK Hedgehogs AU: Sonic, Shadow and Amy were born and raised on the Space Colony ARK. They find themselves on a war-torn planet, with a very powerful Robotnik, a very angry fox and echidna, and a desperation to find each other again.
