Don’t mess it up, Pixy. You’re still heroes today.
He breathes out a slow, steady breath. It’s cold, he says. Let’s go back.
You swallow your heart. You breathe, too. “Yeah,” you say. “Let’s go.”
In which we are already living in the end of the world. In which the apocalypse has come and we are irrevocably alive. So what now. What then.
So hey: will you survive the future, for as long as you can bear?

The day the sky turned purple and he had to kill the only person who’d truly known him in nearly a decade. The person he’d trusted, but who couldn’t trust him because he was a demon with a raging thirst for blood.
He wasn’t sure what to do now.
So he kept doing what he always did: find a new job, get more money, and bury these feelings deep within himself where no one would find them.

Summary
This is basically all of Ace Combat 7, but more gay than it already was. Not really focused on the battle aspects since I'm bad at writing those and you do them in game, however it will be the soft moments in between battles that will be explored here. Trigger isn't great at expressing himself and Count is trying hard not to fall for his rival.

What happens when you see the end of a war you weren't supposed to survive?
You keep moving, of course. So Cipher kept moving, kept living, because what else was there to do? He carved out a nice little space for himself in a mostly normal life that people like him could only ever dream of having- if they ever dreamed of it at all.
The ghosts are still there, of course, and it's easy enough to let them pass as time goes on.
But what happens when one suddenly comes back from the grave a decade later?
