Summary
Upon returning to the galaxy, Ahsoka feels a painful absence. Though she tries to move on, she can't help but feel that something is missing in her life, and her relationship with Obi-Wan and Rex fails to fill the void left by Anakin. In Mortis, Anakin struggles with the darkness of the Son and his new responsibility, but his connection to Ahsoka lives on, reflected in visions and dreams that haunt him. As the war progresses, Ahsoka begins to realize that her bond with Anakin goes beyond friendship. Though separated, their connection through the Force is never broken. Eventually, when Ahsoka returns to Mortis due to unexpected circumstances, the two confront their feelings, and the bond that unites them slowly begins to blossom, in a development that emerges unhurriedly but with increasing intensity. This alternative changes the course of the war, Anakin's fate, and the relationship between him and Ahsoka, who must accept that their lives are intertwined in ways they did not fully understand.
