He still had no idea as to how long it had been by the time there was a knocking at his front door, familiar, warm, someone he knew. “Grian? Are you in there? We’ve been trying to text you. Scar and I are worried.” Warm. Familiar. He should get up, answer the door. Let them in and let them take care of him.
There was a sigh from the other side of the door, another knock. “Grian? Are you home? Can you answer the door?” Even more familiar, even more warm. They were both here? “G-man, you haven't answered messages for a few days. We know you get into your projects but X said you haven't moved in a while and we’re worried.” He sounded worried. He sounded almost scared.
“Maybe he's not here, maybe he just left his communicator behind and went mining.” Worry, a waver in his voice.
Or, Grian has a hard day. Mumbo and Scar come by to make sure he's ok, and to keep him company after finding him a little catatonic on the couch.

" None of them really knew how long they danced for, or how many records had repeated from the soft speakers of the jukebox, but soon Scar spoke of the slowly growing pain in his legs, and the two immediately moved to assist him to the bed. Kisses and hands halted as Mumbo moved to grab a rag from the bathroom for the makeup, and Grian began slowly removing all of the accessories decorating him. With gentle hands, the Avian helped remove the dress with as little time standing as he could, and Scar was thankful for how quick Grian could undress him at times. "

Dating a vampire was not exactly like Grian had expected. He honestly thought it would have been sexier - not that Mumbo wasn’t sexy, of course - but Grian had kind of assumed that their relationship would always be sparkling with heated gazes, tongues running along lips, and the tantalizing exhilaration of twin fangs pressed delicately against Grian’s neck.
Mumbo was much softer and awkward than all the dark and dirty vampiric romance novels Grian had read. Mumbo always had some sort of poem or song that reminded him of Grian, millions of recipes that he knew Grian would love, and a beautiful garden in which he picked special bouquets everyday for Grian. Dating a vampire was nothing like Grian could have imagined - it was much, much better.
Of course, there were times that dating a vampire was not like Grian had expected because of reasons he never could have predicted. But this wasn’t always bad, and Grian wouldn’t trade it for the world.
