“Adeptus…” Aether thought of Xiao who they hadn’t seen since the Chasm. “Do you know which adeptus?”
“No, and that is precisely what I was discussing with Mr. Zhongli!” Iron Tongue Tian said enthusiastically. “My theory is that this story happened during the Archon war, where an adeptus under Rex Lapis fell in love with another god’s servant. Their love was a taboo which was why they were forbidden to meet."
Aether nodded while peaking over at Zhongli who was sipping on a cup of hot tea.
"Tell me, traveller, have you two heard of the Five Yaksha?”

Summary
Kyo, Ren, and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being Known and Loved; in an exploration/reimagining of their world and characters if, you know—the lore was real, and they were actually in love. Because I have no self-control.
Also, we need more ace representation where the character isn't: A.) an alien who knows nothing of sex, B.) a fabled creature of myth that is simply above such Puny Mortal Feelings, or C.) a robot that simply just Does Not Have Emotions, period. So there's that.

*As a Note: The main story is done, however, I will be refraining from marking it complete until I finally get to retconning some details that don't quite fit with the rest of my au/copious headcanons anymore.
