Chapter 12
This is a damn dark story. An alternate ending that I am glad never happened. I'm usually not a fan of these type of fics. But for some reason this is also so beautifully devastating? It's like watching a plane crash that I can't look away from for the minuscule chance that everything is gonna be fine. Hope is a powerful thing, I guess.
Honestly this fic is very interesting with the way the demigods applied themselves with more modern weapons, the way the author explained the cruelty of the camps and experiments... it's a serious topic but the fact that I don't know how this war is going to turn out makes it so interesting.
Now Luke/Kronos and Percy? Every time Percy gets a memory of their past, and when Luke shows up you know he cares about Percy with every part of him, heck Kronos said so himself. To the point Luke's feelings influenced Kronos'? He may be a god but he's still trapped in a mortal shell, it's only right he has the weaknesses of one. I don't know if Kronos' interest in Percy is his own, or his mind mixed with Luke's... I think he's been looking through Luke's eyes for so long he also began to see Percy as "his."
For now, I'm left wondering if, at the end of all this, Percy will be able to do what he couldn't and kill Kronos/Luke once and for all. I don't even know if I want him too, despite the glaring necessary.
