Summary
His shidi gives him a bag too. He frowned, looking up at him. Jiang Wanyin rocks on the balls of his feet, as if to contain his nervousness of what they were doing, unsure of what the punishment for aiding in the escape of his shixiong would be. But surely he deserved a better life than this. "There's some food and water, and some medicinal supplies in there. As well as an extra set of clothes for you," he says, arms crossing over his chest. "That way you'll be okay for a few days."
At age 12, Wei Ying runs away from Lotus Pier with help of his shijie and his shidi. He ends up finding a better life with a ghost and a god. But all things end in tragedy.
