Summary
When Cas had suggested they check out the vampire-esque deaths in this small town, Dean had been wary. As an angel, Cas had been formidable; now that he was human, Dean couldn’t help but worry.
Sam had assured him that it was probably a normal worry for someone who had been ageless and bled light, and now sometimes struggled with the toaster while half asleep and wearing only pyjama pants.

It felt like a miracle that the pocketed Camp Chitaqua photo had made it back to the present with Dean from the Endverse, or perhaps a curse.
But it was the only photo of Cas he had and after he died, Dean wanted to drown in it.

Summary
Do you know how hard it is to find a motel room with three beds? Somebody's gonna have to share with the newly fallen angel.
So Sam and Dean settle it with their time-honored tradition: Rock-Paper-Scissors.
Dean loses. A lot.
But maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Summary
“Turn that off,” John snaps, cuffing Dean on the back of her head. She flinches, but she can’t. She can’t take her eyes off of the screen.
She doesn’t often watch the news because politics don’t matter to people living off the grid and local gossip doesn’t matter to nomads and the economy doesn’t make sense to her because she’s just not wired that way, but she feels sick. She feels sick and compelled and she has to watch because Jesus, this story deserves the dignity of disgust.
“Matthew Shepard is only 21, and is in critical condition at Poudre Valley Hospital. His attackers have yet to be identified—”
“I said,” John growls, yanking the remote out of Dean’s hands, “turn it off.” He gestures to Sam, who’s doing homework, while the TV goes black. “He doesn’t need to be exposed to that pervert shit. He’s a kid.”
Matthew Shepard is a kid, Dean thinks to herself. He is a kid. He is a kid. I’m a kid.
Even on the blank screen, she can still see Logan Shepard’s face. She doesn’t think she’ll ever unsee Logan Shepard’s face. And she wonders what John would look like if he ever came home to news like that.

Summary
Precautions can only go so far, Dean finds. What was initially meant to be a day spent organizing the store rooms in the basement turns out to be something less sinister and more out of his wheelhouse.
Not that he minds.

Summary
Food is complicated for Dean. Although, it’s not food as much as it is hunger. He can appreciate a good hamburger for just being a hamburger, but starvation he has a more complicated relationship with. The feeling should be something that’s easier to condemn than it is, but it’s intermingled with nostalgia and memories of his father and the feeling of doing good by Sam. He loves food, but he misses missing it sometimes.

Summary
Dean’s house-sitting for his brother. He’s enjoying having the place to himself, with its huge master bedroom, Olympic-sized swimming pool, and amazing sound system. By coincidence, Dean’s ex-best friend, Cas, ends up on the doorstep, and together they drink, get high, and fight about why their friendship broke down fourteen months ago.
But at least they’re talking.
Everything starts to go wrong, however, when what Dean and Cas assume is just a run-of-the-mill creeper phones after midnight, threatening to show up and murder the shit out of them. Dean doesn’t take it seriously, at least not until the phone and power lines are cut, the cell signals jammed, and oh… who the fuck is that out there by the pool with a freakin’ chainsaw?
