“What is he?” Sam asks when he’s finally finished with the papers in front of him.
Ketch sneers, and simply responds, “A pain in our asses.”

Possession leaves its marks on Stiles. He finds ways to keep himself contained, but they aren't permanent, they're barely even stopgaps. He can't trust himself, so he leaves, even though all he wants to do is stay.
Figures that when he finally musters the courage to go back to Beacon Hills that everything goes to shit— figures that somehow, some way, it's his dad that's in trouble.
There's no vices that can distract Stiles from the rot in his soul; there's no amount of bottles that'll bring his mom back. There's nothing that will fix them.

Peter, still silent, still lurking, laughs a bit, startling Malia, who’d been standing by his side. Just now noticing her, Stiles gives her a little nod. The returning smile is a breath of fresh air. It flickers, but it’s not forced.
“There’s a whole assortment of different types of federal agents, isn’t there, Stiles?”

Most people assumed that a hypnotherapist specializing in couples counseling would take a mostly hands-off approach, using his skills to reveal the underlying faults in a relationship and carefully guide his patients to a series of mutually beneficial subconscious behavioral changes. And, to be fair, that was the case most of the time. But sometimes, in the event of a special case where one partner contacted him separately and agreed to pay a little extra, Dr. Thomas Wells agreed to change one partner a bit more than they had initially signed on for.
