Chapter 1: ... found out his best friend may be a Greek god.
Chapter Text
The disbanding of BTS changed a lot in members lives. Everyone got a chance to start another chapter in their life, to decide what to do next and live on their own. Their decisions were … surprising, but I can’t say they were unexpected. Namjoon left South Korea to start his career in the USA. Thanks to his contacts with American rappers it was the matter of time when he released his first solo album. Yoongi became the full-time producer, he was working with the most famous idols in Korea and, as he said himself, his biggest dream came true. But then we have Seokjin, who totally gave up his music career and… got married! All of the members were very happy for him and his wife, promising to visit their new family house as soon as possible. Jungkook surprised everyone the most and started his career as an actor (none on the members saw that coming, really!). He was still playing small roles in dramas and movies, but BTS members were almost sure that he’ll get his first big role soon. Taehyung didn’t left the music industry, but the clearly changed the genre of it. He was now a musical singer, he was performing in the biggest theaters in Korea, all thanks to his deep, beautiful voice. So, we can all be really proud of these boys, but they are not going to be our main characters here. We’re going to focus on only two of them, who – unlike the rest of the group – stayed together, still being friends. And don’t get me wrong, all of the members kept in touch and they even met from time to time when Namjoon was around in Korea, but only Hoseok and Jimin’s friendship remained strong.
Hoseok got a job in the big dance academy in Seoul, and Jimin became a model, but not the runaway one. He was modeling for fashion magazines and acting in some tv commercials, but he wasn’t a celebrity, he was able to live his peaceful live not worrying about the fans or other famous people’s problems. They both had their own apartments, and it was a nice change after living together in one dorm for all this time when they’re still a band. Hoseok’s one was spacious and modern, but not luxurious. He had everything he needed and nothing more. After disbanding of BTS, he started cooking and it quickly became his biggest hobby - after dancing of course, so it’s not a surprise that the kitchen was the main room in his house. It was a little different in Jimin’s apartment, which was much smaller than Hoseok’s. It was still very cozy tough, especially his living room, which contained a giant tv, a Playstation with tons of different games and the biggest couch you can imagine. It was their favorite place to hang out, playing games, drinking beer and eating fast food, so Hoseok was a frequent guest at Jimin’s place. Oh, I forgot about the Oliver’s pallet, made out of colorful planks with a big, fluffy cushion inside. Oliver was Jimin’s cat and was probably the best gift Jimin had ever gotten. Hoseok truly knew what to get to make him happy.
So now, as you all know a little bit about boy’s new lives, we shall start the main part of our novel. All you should remember throughout the story is that Jimin and Hoseok are best friends and they spend plenty of time together. They’re both healthy and eating well, working hard to earn money and enjoying little everyday things. Just like normal guys do.
Except the fact that they’re not just casual friends, and they’ll soon realize it. And it will change their lives once again.

“So what exactly do you want to cook?”
Jimin was focused more than ever while he was browsing through the internet, looking for a recipe easy enough to make it on his own. It wasn’t a surprise then that he didn’t even looked at Hoseok, who was standing right behind him, leaning against the back of the chair Jimin was sitting on and trying to contain his laugh. Somehow he couldn’t imagine to himself Jimin cooking anything on his own. But hey, he’s having a date tonight so it was obvious he wanted to make a good impression. Hoseok didn’t know this girl, but from what he knew about her it’s that it’ll be their eighth date, and that’s quite impressive if we’re talking about the love life of Jimin. He was dating some girls from time to time, but it always ended up after a month, maybe two. He clearly couldn’t find the right person, and Hoseok seriously doubted he knew exactly what he’s looking for in a girl. Sense of humor? Charisma? Passion? Or maybe it’s about the looks? Hoseok shook his head and focused at the computer screen again. Jimin wasn’t that shallow, he wanted something more than a nice body, for sure.
“I’m not sure…Is spaghetti ok? It seems to be quite easy, am I right?” Jimin turned around in his chair and looked up at his hyung. He could now see the big grin on his face and indulgent stare he was sending him. Maybe Jimin wasn’t the best chef in the city, but he was surely able to cook some pasta, right? His eyes suddenly became really dry and itchy, Hoseok could see how they’re turning red. Jimin quickly wiped off tears running across his cheeks. It’s all because of the sleepless night spent on playing video games. A few more of those and he’ll surely need glasses in near future.
“Yea, it isn’t hard at all, but I’m afraid you still won’t do it properly…” Hoseok replied with weak voice, shaky from trying to stop himself from laughing out loud. If he wasn’t Jimin’s best friend, his dongsaeng would be seriously offended. But Jimin knew his hyung is right and he’ll probably need his help in the kitchen. His date should be here in about 3 hours, and it’s even more than enough time to prepare the dinner and clean the flat. And Jimin will show that he can do everything on his own, Hoseok just have to watch him.
“Pfff, what’s that hard with cooking some pasta and sauce? Even child can do it…” he replied, trying to look as self-confident ad possible, making his way to shelves and searching for all of needed utensils. It looked more than adorable when he was trying his best reaching the highest shelves, not even thinking about asking Hoseok for help.
“Of course, chef, you can surely make it. But do you have everything you need? Like tomatoes, onions, ….” Hoseok took the chair Jimin had been sitting on earlier and watched the other boy carefully, counting on all the ingredients Jimin needed to make the dish. Younger’s moves suddenly became slower and his confidence disappeared completely. He turned around just to send Hoseok an irritated stare and mumble some cuss words before opening the fridge. It was almost empty as beside milk, some eggs and cheese Jimin really didn’t have anything in there. He suddenly felt embarrassed, not because he wasn’t prepared, but because Hoseok saw it and probably thought about him as the biggest fool in the world. Who invites a girl over without preparing everything before that? Jimin already had a headache. Wonderful start, Jimin, congratulations.
“I’ll write down the ingredients and you’ll go shopping, I’ll boil the water for pasta and maybe hoover carpets in the living room.” Hoseok knew exactly what to do, as always. His warm hand rubbing Jimin’s back was like a confirmation that as long as he’s here everything will be alright. Two minutes later Jimin was already out shopping with a list of everything he needed, leaving his flat in Hoseok’s hands. Before he came back his living room was much fresher and cleaner, Hoseok had opened all the windows to let some fresh air in and hovered all the carpets. The water for pasta was also already boiling.
“Wow, hyung, yo-“
“Have you seen your bathroom?” Hoseok cut him off, putting on yellow rubber gloves and disappearing in said room, his face was far from happy looking. “I know you’re a manly man, but you should clean it, if not for yourself, than for your date.”
If Hoseok wasn’t his best friend, Jimin would probably feel extremely offended and maybe a little embarrassed, but in that situation he just laughed out loud and peeked in the bathroom, watching his hyung trying to clean his mirror. It’s not the first time when Hoseok was cleaning Jimin’s flat. Sometimes, when he came up, he had to firstly clean the table or sweep the floor as “he won’t be sitting around all this trash and dust.”
“You such a wifey material, hyung!”
There flew one rubber glove hitting Jimin right in the face, after that went an old sponge hitting almost the same spot.
“I swear I’m going to kill you when I’m done!” Hoseok shouted after Jimin, who already run away back to the kitchen, unpacking the things he had bought and reading the recipe once again, just to make sure he won’t screw anything up.
Hoseok wasn’t really that offended, but the fact that he was still single was making him a little sad and worried. He wasn’t dating anyone as often as Jimin, so he had always felt somehow worse than his younger friend, especially in situation like that, when Jimin was dating another girl, and he himself was going to spend another evening alone. Maybe he could just steal Oliver for this one night? Yea, that was a good plan. Suddenly a loud sneeze came out of the kitchen.
“Bless you, Jiminnie!”
“Thanks…Hyung, I have a headache.”
“There’re some painkillers in my backpack.”
Hoseok could hear Jimin in the living room, searching through clothes and books in his bag. When he made sure Jimin was back in the kitchen and he took the pills, he leaned forward against the bathtub again and started cleaning carefully every inch of it, lost in his own thoughts, listening to Jimin singing quietly in the kitchen. Was he really that feminine? It was right that he liked when the house is clean and well-maintained, he liked cooking and spending time in kitchen or trying new restaurants in the city. But all these things weren’t making him less manly, right? He sighed deeply, finally finishing the bathtub and stretching a little bit. He already had a backahce after those few minutes of leaning forward. He sighed deeply and looked around, making sure the whole room is nice and clean. He was just taking off the rubber gloves when he heard a loud noise from the kitchen, followed by a loud scream and the worst cuss words he had ever heard. Hoseok was cursing with Jimin just a few seconds later, as his younger friend had thrown the pot with boiling hot water off the cooker and almost the whole kitchen floor was covered with hot liquid and pasta. Hoseok of course hadn’t seen it and stepped right into it, burning his feet, and now he was sitting on the floor in the hallway, waving his legs in the air to cool them. Jimin in the same time was trying to sooth his burned hand with his own breath, blowing on it and making his way to his hyung, escaping the crime scene in the kitchen. After a minute or two they were both laughing their heads off, watching the disaster Jimin had made.
“See what happens when you try to cook alone? No food at all and two wounded men.” Hoseok said, looking at Jimin with a worried expression, calling him to come closer. The younger boy was acting like a little child, he didn’t want to show his burned hand, not even thinking about letting Hoseok touch it.
“Come here, we have to cool it.”Hoseok almost forced Jimin to get up from the floor and come with him to the bathroom where he put his now bright red hand under the stream of cold water. He completely forgot about his own burned feet. They didn’t hurt him anymore, so he’ll be surely fine.
“Awww, it’s freezing!” Jimin whimpered, watching carefully his own hand as he was looking for some open wound or scars. His eyes were red again and Hoseok noticed it. He put his palm on Jimin’s forehead, totally ignoring questioning stare he was giving him.
“I think you have a fever. Don’t you feel bad or something?”
Jimin looked a bit lost, but he nodded after a few seconds and sneezed loudly as for a confirmation of what had Hoseok said.
“I’m a bit tired.” he said with a weak voice as his hyung was already drying his burned hand with a towel, as carefully as he could. The thought of the mess he had to clean up in the kitchen was making him angry, but he couldn’t just leave Jimin on his own. He’s just a big child when he’s sick, so he would probably just go to bed not worrying about the disaster on the kitchen floor.
“What about the girl, then?” Hoseok asked, leading Jimin to the bed room. The burn on his hand wasn’t that bad, it was not sign of it already, so that’s the only bright side of the situation. “You should call her and say that you’re sick.” he added after a few seconds, drawing the curtains in the room. He was feeling even less manly then, but it wasn’t that important. If he had to, he would became a full time nanny if Jimin needed it.
“Yea, yea. I’ll call her….” younger boy replied, following Hoseok around the room like his shadow and feeling like he could just fall asleep on the floor. “Could you….?”
“I’ll clean it up, don’t worry.”
Jimin just smiled in reply and quickly got into bed. He took every single pill Hoseok was giving him, not even asking what they were. They did work though, as they had put Jimin to sleep just in few minutes. In the meantime Hoseok took care of the kitchen. He cleaned up the pasta and thoroughly wiped the floor, making sure it’s clean and completely dry. He wasn’t sure why he felt so responsible for this big child Jimin was, but he somehow couldn’t imagine just leaving him in the situation like that. Maybe it’s because of all these years spent in their dorm as a band? Or maybe Hoseok was just too clingy and cared too much about other people? It wasn’t bad, though, right? That’s just what friends do for each other. They make you hot tea when you’re sick and clean up the pasta from the floor while you’re sleeping. Hoseok laughed to himself as he hadn’t even thought that his Saturday would be so interesting.
Then he heard a doorbell. Without really thinking who could have it been he rushed to the hallway and opened them. His stare was met by a pair of big, brown eyes slightly hidden behind a short fringe.
“Hello! I’m sorry, but I think I have a wrong address….” a girl started with an embarrassed smile, checking something on her phone. She was really pretty, Hoseok had to admit it. He could clearly see that she had put a lot of effort preparing for this date. She look gorgeous in her short, colorful summer dress and flower headband. “Is it apartment nr 23?” she asked after a few seconds, sending Hoseok another sweet smile.
“Yes, yes it is. But I thought Jimin had called you already.” he replied, trying to smile as politely as he could. It was sad that it was him who had to tell this poor girl that her date was now in bed, with a runny nose and a fever. “I think he may have a cold. He has gotten a fever earlier today, he said he will call you and cancel today’s date.”
“Oh, but he did not call me…” girl replied, not even trying to hide her irritation and disappointment. After a few seconds of silence she smiled at Hoseok once again and added. “Well, I hope he’ll be fine soon. Can you tell him to call me when he feels better?”
Hoseok smiled back at her and nodded before wishing her a great day and closing the door again. He felt really bad, but he was even more angry at Jimin. How could h-
“I’M SORRY HYUNG, I FORGOT TO CALL HER!”
The older boy just sighed deeply and walked towards the bed room. His dongsaeng clearly had enough of sleep as he was wide awake, playing on his phone with tissues stuck in his nostrils. Hoseok couldn’t help but laughed out loud before pulling them out.
“You’ll look like a pig if you keep doing so.” he warned his younger friend, still laughing. He should had taken a picture, it would look great in the frame, hanged on the wall. He checked his temperature again. Jimin still had a fever, but medicine seemed to work as he already looked much better. “Did you hear everything?”
Jimin nodded, not even moving his eyes from the screen. He really looked like a big child now.
“I’ll call her tomorrow.” he replied, and then sent Hoseok a mischievous smile. “Gaming night?”
Hoseok laughed again, shaking his head in refusal. It was a great idea indeed, but Jimin was a mess now and he should stay in bed until he feel better. He should had been expecting a proposition like that, though. Every time Jimin was sick he would invite Hoseok over just to accompany him and take care of him. It was just his style.
“You’re staying in bed, Jiminnie.”
“I can be in bed in the living room, a couch is big enough.” Jimin replied quickly, already getting out of bed and making his way to the living room, taking pillow and blankets with him. It had happened so quickly Hoseok didn’t have a choice but follow him, grabbing some snacks from the kitchen and making some hot tea for his sick friend.
“Everything but this stupid racing game…..” Hoseok moaned loudly, making himself comfortable next to Jimin, who was wrapped up in every blanket he could found, his mouth already stuffed with cookies.
“I’m going to destroy you either way.”

“You can stay for the night, really! Hyung, please, don’t leave me, I feel so bad, oh my god, I feel like I have a fever again…”
Maybe Jimin was a good model, but he clearly was a terrible actor. After a few hours of playing video games he seemed to forget about his cold. It was past midnight already and Hoseok was more than exhausted. All he wanted to do was to take hot shower and sleep in his cozy bed, without Jimin coughing and sneezing every fifteen seconds.
“Are you kidding me?” he replied, cutting off Jimin’s monologue and already putting on his jacket. He had never stayed the night before, and it seemed somehow weird. Maybe it was normal for girls, but men? Nah, it didn’t seem right.
“Why not? I’ll go back to my bed, you can take the couch.” Jimin didn’t want to give up, so he escaped his blanket fort and caught Hoseok in the hallway. “It’s Sunday tomorrow, we can sleep until late and then order some pizza for breakfast and play more video g-“ Jimin himself off with a loud sneeze which made Hoseok laugh again. Maybe his dongsaeng was right? It wasn’t a bad idea. And Jimin looked really bad, his fever didn’t want to go away and it seemed like the boy would have to stay in bed for a few more days. Maybe some homemade remedies could help? Hoseok smiled to himself and after a second of hesitation he took off is jacket again and came back to the living room with Jimin. His younger boy took away all his blankets from the couch, leaving the biggest one for Hoseok and brought him a cushion from the bedroom.
“Go to bed, I’ll check your temperature once again before you sleep.” older boy commanded, taking thermometer from the table and leading Jimin to the room. He made sure his friend is completely covered with blankets before checking if his fever had dropped. And it hadn’t. He will have to prepare dome homemade medicine the next day. Hoseok was a little bit worried now, but didn’t wanted Jimin to see it, so he lied to him that his fever is much lower than before.
“Hyung, don’t close the door.” Jimin shouted suddenly, when Hoseok was just about to close it. He turned around and send the younger boy a lenient look.
“Are you serious?”
Jimin covered his face almost completely from the embarrassment. He wasn’t scared of the darkness, he lived on his own for a long time now, so it was not about that. But it was the first time when Hoseok was staying the night and he wanted to hear him in the living room. He was curious if the by would snore, or maybe sleep-talk? It could be funny to hear it.
“Sometimes Oliver comes over to sleep on my bed.” it was Jimin who lied this time, using his cat as an excuse. Hoseok didn’t realized though, and left the door opened before disappearing in the bathroom. Jimin was playing on his phone the whole time his hyung was taking the shower to stay awake, he didn’t want to fall asleep before saying good night. It was funny how excited he was about the simple fact that his friend staying the night. Just like a child, really.
“Good night, Jiminnie. Try waking me up before the 10 am and you’ll never get better.” Hoseok said from the living room, ending up with a short laugh, followed by Jimin’s giggles. He could clearly hear how Hoseok was wriggling on the couch trying to get comfortable, how he talked to Oliver to “politely move his fat ass from the cushion so he can sleep like a normal person” and how he sighed from frustration every time cat meowed. Jimin wanted to hear more of this, but he soon fell asleep. But Hoseok couldn’t do the same. Even though he was really tired. He could hear Jimin hoarse breathing and coughing through his sleep and it made him even more worried. But even that hadn’t kept him up all night. He felt asleep around the 2 am, but woke up an hour later. And to be more precise, it was Jimin who had woken him up.
“Hyuuung…” he moaned loudly from his bed, keeping his stare on the door, waiting for Hoseok to come. He didn’t know why he was so sure his hyung will come, but he was. And Hoseok did come, and made his younger friend speechless. And he did it so effortlessly, Jimin was surprised by his own reaction.
When Jimin saw him leaning over the door frame, he immediately hid whole face under the blanket, looking like a virgin seeing the man for the first time. This man looked incredibly good, tough, wearing nothing but his black briefs, with bed hair, rubbing the rest of the sleep out of his eyes. Jimin had seen Hoseok shirtless hundreds of times before, but that time it felt different. The weak light from the street soaking between the curtains was lying soft shadows on Hoseok’s torso, highlighting his muscular arms and chest and…
“What’s wrong?” the older boy asked, not even surmising what impression he was making then. He didn’t feel embarrassed about his almost naked body, after living together in one dorm for such a long time it became normal.
“I feel I’m going to throw up , I’m sorry…” Jimin answered quickly, jumping out of his bed and rushing to the bathroom, leaving Hoseok lost and startled in the bedroom. He wanted to ask Hoseok for another portion of painkillers as his ache was aching again, but then he felt all the cookies, chips and other stuff bubbling in his stomach, wanting to come out. After hugging the toilet for almost fifteen and brushing his teeth for another ten minutes, he finally came back, just to see Hoseok sitting on his bed, already drifting away, rocking from side to side with closed eyes.
“Hyung, do you want to stay here?” Jimin said with a weak voice, and it was enough to wake Hoseok up and make him got up from Jimin’s spot. Before he left, he tucked his dongsaeng to sleep and checked his temperature again, feeling a slight relief as the fever had finally dropped. Without saying a word, he went back to the living room, letting the light from the street to slip over his back and tights, making Jimin shiver under his blankets. He had never noticed how well Hoseok looked without his clothes on.
Wait, what?
Jimin did not say a word about it the next day when he was eating the breakfast with Hoseok. Jimin did not even mention the state he had put him in the last night with his naked body and messy hair.
And Jimin did not mention the fact that he had been wide awake every single time Hoseok had come to check on him during the night.
And Jimin might, just might compared Hoseok to a Greek god in his head.
And he will never, ever admit it.
Chapter 2: ...realized that horror movies aren't that bad.
Chapter Text
Days like that particular one used to happen two, maybe three times a month. The main reason why they’re happening was weather itself, often connected with even worse things. For example, a rainy, windy weather along with the lack of milk in the fridge and cat’s hair all over the couch could easily cause that kind of day aura. Usually Jimin would stay home on the days like those, feeling generally tired and not well. He would postpone all the activities and work just to get some peace and not be disturbed by anyone, even Hoseok or his family. But that specific day wasn’t like the previous ones. I mean, weather and other unpleasant things were on point, but Jimin had a special plans on that particular day, and he just couldn’t postpone them. It was a photoshoot for a fashion magazine, but not the usual one. He had to drive to another town, almost 300 km away, and he couldn’t just say that he won’t be there. It was a very professional shooting, it was a great chance for him to get more errands like that.
So there he was, almost sleeping on the passenger seat in Hoseok’s car, trying to stay focused on buildings they were passing by and keeping his eyes opened. He was starving too and he would even sacrifice one of his precious video games for a cup of coffee, really. He didn’t have a time to even think about breakfast, so he would have to wait now until they stop on some gas station. Maybe he should just make a driving license? It was probably high time. He wouldn’t have to ask Hoseok to drive him places, he would just do it himself. Well, maybe it was a good idea that his hyung was driving on that particular day, though. It was all his fault why Jimin was feeling so tired, it was a great penalty. He had kept him awake almost all night last night, and Jimin was regretting inviting him to stay and “watch movies”, really. Why would he do that right a day before such an important photoshoot?
Jimin looked at Hoseok for the last time before closing his eyes in order to take a quick nap as there was still a lot of kilometers ahead of them. But as soon as he felt relaxed, memories from last night made him smile to himself like an idiot, and he had to try his best to not actually burst into laughter.hen he remembered that night when Hoseok had stayed the night for the first time, and when he came to Jimin’s bedroom almost naked and …
Hey, Park Jimin! What are you even thinking about, huh?!
He felt weird after that night. And the last one had just made him question … a lot of things, actually.
__________________________________________________________________________________
“Sus-what?!”
Jimin sighed once again and sent Hoseok another indulgent smile. It didn’t matter what movie title he said, Hoseok had literally no idea what he was talking about. Maybe it’s because all of the movies Jimin owned were horror only?
“Suspiria, hyung. It’s a classic, don’t even tell me you have never heard about it…” he answered finally, taking another bite of a hamburger he and Hoseok had bought on their way home from the dance academy the older boy was working in. Jimin called him earlier that day and invited him to watch the football match together, also offering some beer and fast food. He picked Hoseok up from the academy and they had both bought everything they needed before finally coming to Jimin’s flat. But due to a bad weather the match had been declined, so they had to think about something to watch instead of that. It was almost an hour since they had sat down on the floor in the living room, browsing through Jimin’s DVD movie collection. Hoseok thought that nobody should have that amount of movies, as long as they don’t want to spend their whole life just sitting in front of the screen.
“What is it about?” Hoseok finally asked, after staring at the cover of the DVD, trying to figure out how scary could that one be. He didn’t like horror movies, he would love to watch some comedy instead, but as long as it was Jimin’s place, he had nothing to do about it. It was funny though, because Jimin wasn’t really that brave, he was usually as scared as Hoseok while watching scary movies, but he was still enjoying them. It was something Hoseok will probably never understand.
“Is it frightening?” He looked up at Jimin, trying to hide the fact that some if the ketchup from his burger had fallen down on the carper, creating a small, red stain on the light fabric. Jimin didn’t seem to care, though, he was too busy explaining to Hoseok some main points on the movie and trying to convince him that it wasn’t really that scary, more creepy and disturbing.
“So, Suspiria it is?” Jimin finally asked, already getting up and coming up to the DVD player, ready to play the movie immediately.
“Yea, yea. Maybe it won’t be that scary…” Hoseok mumbled in response, picking up cds from the floor and putting them back on their place. He thought that he can surely survive one movie, they didn’t have time for more. It was already 8 am, and he should be home soon if he wanted to get some proper amount of sleep.
After almost 2 hours, both of the boys were more amused than scared. Maybe making fun of everything that was happening on screen was their way of keeping themselves away from getting actually scared. In the beginning of the movie, though, Hoseok could feel chills creeping up his spine, also Jimin who had already watched it before felt slightly terrified. It hadn’t lasted long as they quickly started to point out all of the small mistakes and exaggerated facial expressions on actors faces. Soon after they’re both laughing their heads off, all the way to an actual end of the movie. It was Hoseok who stood up as the first one, stretching a little bit after sitting in one position, and after that he put on his jacket. It was few minutes before 10 pm, but for Jimin it was still too early to let his hyung go.
“Hoseok, just one more, please! I have a really good movie, it’s not that late yet…” the younger boy whined loudly, quickly taking Hoseok’s backpack away to gain a bit extra time to make his hyung stay. He was doing it almost subconsciously, this little amount of time spent with Hoseok was clearly not enough.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea, Jimin.” Hoseok shook his head once again, trying to keep a serious face. Jimin came up with a stupid plan again, not even thinking about consequences. Hoseok didn’t think he’d manage to stay awake the next morning after such a sleepless night. “We have to leave at least at 5 am tomorrow, so we can’t pull an all-nighter. Besides that, you won’t look well tomorrow if you don’t get a proper am-“
“Oh my god, you’re so boring….” Jimin whined loudly, siting back on his couch, tilting his head to one side and trying to achieve this sad puppy kind of expression by biting at his lower lip and shifting a longing stare between Hoseok and tv. “I’ll pick a really good movie, hyung. Maybe it’s the last chance to watch it together… “ Jimin continued, changing his look to a bit more dreamy one as he stood up and came up to his hyung, placing his chin on the older’s shoulder. Hoseok was acting like his mother again, all responsible and absolutely no fun. Jimin knew that his photoshoot wasn’t the main reason why the other boy didn’t want to watch the film, but the fact it will be another horror one. And he knew the best that his friend didn’t really like this genre.
“Why are you being like that…” Hoseok moaned accusingly, but after a second of hesitation he unzipped his jacket he had put on just a minute ago. He didn’t have a chance to take it off, though, as Jimin did it for him, leading his older friend back to the couch. Hoseok knew he’ll regret his decision the next morning, but maybe a coffee will be enough to bring him back to life.
“I knew you’ll finally agree.” Jimin said, not even trying to hide his satisfaction. He quickly picked a new movie and played it, disappearing in his bedroom, leaving Hoseok alone in the living room. A few seconds later he came back with a big blanket his hyung had been sleeping the last time and some extra cushion for him. He was immediately met by a confused stare sent by Hoseok.
“What are you doing?” he asked, making Jimin freeze in the middle of his way up to the couch. “You wanted to watch a movie, who told you I’m staying in for the night?” he added after few seconds, when Jimin finally came up to him with even more confused expression.
“I thought it was obvious.” the younger answered, sitting back next to Hoseok and sending him an innocent smile. “We have to wake up early anyway, so what’s the difference. We can just leave a bit earlier to get to you flat and that’s it.” he added, shifting his stare to the screen, as the movie was already going. Hoseok’s car was still in the garage as he went to work by feet that day, but it was just a 15 minutes away from Jimin’s flat, so…
“Well…” Hoseok started with a shy smile, and after a moment of hesitation he finally agreed. “Ok, but you promise me you will wake up with no problem tomorrow. I don’t want to waste my time on shaking you off of your bed.” he ended with a silent giggle, which was cut off by Jimin sigh.
“I won’t be sleeping on my bed, hyung.” he started with a quiet voice, trying to avoid Hoseok’s stare. Suddenly he felt embarrassed by what he was going to tell him. All he had before his eyes where half-naked Hoseok in his bedroom door, with his messy hair and black briefs. “Oliver kinda… profaned my bed and I had to take it to the chemical washhouse to bring it back to normal, clean state, so… I think I have to sleep on the couch as well.” he finally added, lifting his stare to Hoseok’s face jus to meet his slightly surprised and scared expression. “Will it be ok with you? If not I can always make myself comfortable on the floor…” he suddenly tried to laugh about it, feeling how thick and awkward atmosphere had become, but to his relief, Hoseok laughed as well while patting his shoulder in a playful way, soon laughing uncontrollably on the floor.
“Your cat took a shit in your bed?! Really?! Oh my god, I love this pet…” Hoseok managed to say, trying to catch his breath and avoid Jimin’s fist punching his shoulders and back.
“It’s ok, Jiminnie, we can sleep together. As long as you don’t mind my loud snoring.” he added, laughing again and keeping his stare on the screen for good. It wasn’t such a big deal anyway, they’d been a band for few years, they’d been sleeping together more than hundred times, so it shouldn’t be so problematic for them. But since they’d started their own lives, such habits weren’t ordinary anymore, but it’s not a problem. It’s ok if they had to sleep together for just one night, there’s nothing wrong with it. Additionally, they had had slept on smaller bed before, so Jimin’s couch was appearing like a true kings bed on that night. So the topic of sleeping together was ended and none of the boys had brought it back that night. They had a lot of fun watching the second movie, even though it was much scarier than the first one.
Another two hours had passed and it was already past midnight when boys decided they had had enough spooky stuff for one night. Hoseok took a shower first, as Jimin had to turn off the DVD player and give Oliver some milk so he wouldn’t wake them up in the middle of the night. Then he had occupied the bathroom for a few minutes, just enough for a quick shower as well, and joined his hyung on the couch soon after. Hoseok and Jimin were pretty tired, so none of them seemed like talking, both turned away from each other, facing opposite walls, wrapped up in individual blankets. It had been so calm and quiet, but then Oliver decided to join them as he jumped on the couch and tried to make himself comfortable in the space between the boys.
“I swear to god I’m going to kill this cat one day…” Hoseok mumbled half asleep already, turning around just to face Jimin’s back. After a few seconds, younger boy did the same, just to be able to pet his cat and show him some love and affection. He couldn’t stop himself from taking a quick peeks at Hoseok’s face, who was lying so close to him he could actually feel heat radiating from his body. His eyes were closed and lips slightly parted, his whole face relaxed and calm. It wasn’t a problem for Jimin to find a small mole above Hoseok’s upper lip, feeling a bit weird that he still exactly remembered where it was. After all this time while living on their own, it suddenly felt so weird to be in the same bed again, and Jimin was feeling like a creeper for watching his hyung while he didn’t look. He was also wondering what his Hoseok was wearing, as he had been completely covered in blanket when Jimin came back from bathroom. Younger boy held his breath feeling his cheeks turning red at just thinking about Hoseok could be in his briefs only. Jimin really had no idea why he was thinking about such things or why all those small things were making him embarrassed, but as long as Hoseok didn’t know about anything, it was all fine. And just as for confirmation, his hyung’s loud snore filled the room, making Jimin giggle, hiding under his blanket.
Jimind didn’t need an alarm to wake up on the next day. He didn’t need the sun shining directly at his face or loud car noises from the street. All he needed was a soft, quiet purring along with some hoarse voice coming from right next to him. Jimin was suddenly really glad that he use to sleep on his right side and that he woke up like that, because he could admire probably the sweetest, the most heartwarming scene he had ever seen.
As soon as Jimin opened his eyes, he saw Hoseok lying on his back with Oliver chilling on his hyung’s bare (as he was in fact sleeping only in his briefs) chest, pressing his small head against boy’s big, warm palm. Hoseok himself had his eyes half opened as a quiet mumbling was coming from his mouth as he complimented Oliver’s “soft fur, majestic whiskers and cute, dumb face”. The most important thing though was that he was staring at the cat with the look of absolute adoration which made Jimin want to melt under his blanket. He was watching Hoseok’s face, brighten up with his usual, although still sleepy, sunny smile, trying to remember if he had ever seen this kind of expression before, but he was quickly caught red-handed.
“Morning.” Hoseok whispered and turned his head to face his younger friend, but sighed sadly soon after, as Oliver had suddenly left his chest and was already making himself comfortable next to his owner, Jimin. “Traitor. I hate you again.” Hoseok added after few seconds, pulling himself closer to his dongsaeng so he could still pet Oliver. Jimin immediately felt his heart skip a beat as only Oliver was separating them, their bodies so close to each other, blankets and cushions tangled around the bed. Warmth coming from Hoseok’s body made Jimin wonder if he was some kind of human radiator or something like that, because he suddenly felt way too hot under all these blankets.
“What’s the time?” Jimin finally asked, still keeping his stare on Hoseok’s face. He just wanted to break the silence and make the whole situation less… intimate? Well, it was like that at least in Jimin’s head, but he was also thankful to Oliver for making such a good opportunity for him to admire his hyung’s features again. Hoseok’s sleepy face was even more interesting and pleasant to watch.
“It’s a few minutes past 4 am. We have to get up soon. “ Hoseok replied, lifting his stare from the cat to Jimin face and sending him a sad smile. “I’d rather just stay like that for a whole day to be honest.” he added before turning on his back again and stretching a little bit. It cause blanket to slip even lower, showing off Hoseok’s stomach and hem of his briefs. Jimin tried to focus on his cat but he faild miserably. It was nice that Hoseok was feeling comfortable in his flat, and Jimin hoped that he was going to start visiting him more often.
But Jimin should remember to lend his hyung some clothes next time.
And actually stop thinking about his friend in that weird way.
Maybe another date with a girl would solve the problem, even though Jimin wasn’t sure what was his problem.
__________________________________________________________________________________
When Jimin woke up he was still in the car, sunshine hitting him right in the face. He yawned loudly and rubbed his eyes, just to realize they were at the gas station. Hoseok should had woken him up before leaving him in the car, though, he had been dying to eat something and drink some coffee. He could actually smell it already…
“Did you slept well?” Hoseok’s voice made Jimin jump in his seat and curse under his breath. He didn’t even realized he wasn’t alone in the car, his hyung totally caught him off guard. He was still sleepy after his short nap, images from his dream and memories from the last night were flying around before his eyes. He was so confused about his feeling towards his friend he hesitated before turning around to see him. He wasn’t sure if he should tell Hoseok about it all or just keep it to himself and wait for it so go away. It could be just a phase, maybe it happened in all friendships. Maybe it was because it’d been quite a long time since they were so close to each other. Jimin sighed deeply, totally not ready to meet Hoseok’s intense stare.
There he was. Sitting on the driver’s seat with a coffee in his hands, looking at Jimin in the same he was looking at Oliver earlier that day, is head slightly tilted to one side, his eyes half-closed and lazy smile crawling onto his lips. That all made Jimin want to melt again, his breath suddenly hitched in his throat, making him unable to talk. He was thinking that it must be a great example of bedroom eyes, even tohugh Hoseok was doing it probably unconsciously. He was always such a grease ball anyway.Jimin had seen this kind of look in movies before and he was totally sure that Hoseok was better than any other actor in the world. Jimin hated him so much though, he hated those eyes and that smile and his dumb face in general and he just wan-
“Are you hungry?” Hoseok soft voice suddenly cut off all these stupid thought running across Jimin’s head. He didn’t even wait for his dongsaeng’s response, he just handed him a paper back with sandwiches and fruits inside, and after putting away his own coffee Hoseok started the engine, sending Jimin a quick, amused look. “What is this face, Jiminnie? "Did you have a weird dream?”
Jimin didn’t answered him, he just laughed in response and mumbled some incomprehensible words before stuffing his mouth with a sandwich. He felt like an idiot, but very lucky idiot in the same time. Maybe he was under the influence of Hoseok’s many charms, but at least he was able to spend as much time with him as he wanted to. They’re best friends, right?
He looked at his hyung’s face again, wondering if he was already suspecting anything, but by the way he was acting – just like good, old Hoseok – the thought of Jimin probably taking just a little bit fancy to him had never crossed his mind. And maybe it was better that way.
“Well, at least until it goes away and I’m myself again.” Jimin thought, taking a sip from Hoseok’s cup, didn’t even mind asking him for permission. But when the thought about his hyung’s lips touching that cup before him, he just mentally facepalmed himself, thinking that maybe it was a start of some kind of mental illness. Or obsession.
“It’s not how friendship works.” he thought again, focusing on the road and trying to not look at Hoseok. He knew his hyung was sending him confused stares from time to time, but he was not ready to explain his weird reaction. Or his behavior in general.
Or the fact he was going to sleep under the blanket Hoseok had been using. For the rest of his god damn life probably.
Jimin facepalmed himself in his head again, before offering his sandwich to his hyung by simply putting it up to Hoseok’s lips. He just nodded in response and bit almost the half of it, making Jimin wonder how much he could fit in his mout-
“I need fucking help.” he thought to himself while faceplaming himself for the third time in those few minutes, already feeling his cheeks turning red.
It was such a blessing that Hoseok was a very careful driver and he kept his eyes on the road almost all the time. Otherwise Jimin would had to explain why his face was suddenly flushed red.
Chapter 3: ... realized he actually likes old t-shirts.
Chapter Text
Two weeks had passed since Jimin had his photoshoot and also the last time he saw Hoseok. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to meet him, but he had been extremely busy lately. The photographer really liked working with him, so Jimin ended up staying in the hotel for almost a week to attend all the shooting the photographer had planned. He didn’t want to ask Hoseok every single day to drive him in both ways, his hyung had his own work and problems. Working with such a professional was very tiring and Jimin was actually happy he could go straight to bed after work, not worrying about making his way home for another 200 km. His relief after so exhausting week was not surprising then. He was also really glad that his parents had agreed to take care of his cat when he was away,
Jimin quickly realized that he and Hoseok hadn’t even talked on the phone much, they had been rather exchanging short messages, not counting a few photos from the shooting plan which Jimin had sent to his friend. So when Hoseok finally called him on the day of Jimin’s last shooting, it was totally understandable that the younger boy got extremely excited. Of course he wanted to come on Friday to watch movies. Of course he wanted to stay the night and show to Hoseok his new pictures from the photoshoot. His happiness reached the top when Hoseok agreed for Jimin to take Oliver with him, because there’s no way Jimin would left his cat alone for another night. And he had to admit that Oliver was really good at complicating things in the best way possible. Thanks to him Jimin and Hoseok had had an opportunity to sleep together the last time, so Jimin couldn’t wait to see what their next meeting will bring.
He had totally accepted the fact he was slightly, just a little bit attracted to his best friend, not really in a friendly way, but it was still ok as long as he didn’t do something stupid. Jimin was thinking it will just go away by time, when they both meet someone interesting or one of them starts a serious relationship. He decided to spend his time with Hoseok in the best way possible and enjoy their friendship not worrying about the future. Maybe it’ll be a little bit hard to ignore things that used to be normal earlier, like sleeping together or walking around half-naked, but he wanted to try his best to hide his feelings and not let Hoseok know about anything that was happening in his head. It’ll be better that way, even though it may be hard for Jimin, knowing that Hoseok was being such a tease all the time.
__
“Why do you always have to be late?”
Well, it wasn’t really a nice welcoming, but Jimin was happy to see his hyung anyway. Yes, he was a little bit late, but for a pedantic person like Hoseok, even those few minutes were a serious thing. But his snappish comment didn’t stop Jimin from coming up to him for a warm hug. They hadn’t seen each other for just two weeks, but it was enough for Jimin to start missing his hyung. It was nice to see his sunny smile again and forget about all problems, at least for those few hours they’re going to spend together. It may be hard for Jimin to act normal when he was having just a little crush on his friend, but he believed he can surely survive this meeting without Hoseok noticing anything weird.
“It’s nice to see you, too, Jiminnie!” Hoseok said cheerfully against Jimin’s shoulder, who for some strange reason, didn’t want to let him go and break up their way too long hug. When older boy had finally managed to escape Jimin’s embrace, he could take a clear look at his friend’s face and he quickly noticed some dark circles under his eyes. “You look tired, though. You worked hard, didn’t you?” Hoseok continued, gently petting younger’s cheek, sending a series of chills down his spine and causing his face to heat up. Jimin was surprised that even that an innocent touch could cause such a reaction. It was such a relief for him when his hyung finally looked away from him and led him to the kitchen, giving him some time to collect his mind and reprove himself for that overdone skinship. Hoseok could had thought something inappropriate about him or even started suspecting his tiny little affection, and it could be tragic in result.
“Yea, I had a lot of work.” Jimin admitted quietly, sitting on top of the kitchen island and watching his cat wander around the room, getting to know that new place. He had never brought Oliver to Hoseok’s place before, and he just realized he hadn’t taken any food for him. It was maybe third time when Hoseok invited him to his flat, but Jimin was already feeling comfortable, he knew exactly where everything was and what he could find in his hyung’s fridge. He took some milk from it and poured it in a small bowl, along with some leftover pasta. Oliver clearly wasn’t delighted with that meal, but when he had realized it’s all he could get, he ate it and left the kitchen, probably looking for a good place to take a nap. “I have some pictures from the photoshoot, I’ll show you later.” Jimin added after a while, back on top of the kitchen island, confidentially admiring Hoseok’s back, narrow waist and no, he obviously wasn’t checking out his butt, never. He sighed quietly and looked away, mentally facepalming himself.
“Here we go again.” he thought, when Hoseok had finished making their coffee and invited Jimin to the living room, talking about some annoying secretary working in his dance academy. “What if I can’t make it? What if nothing will be the same now?” he thought again, sitting in the armchair and taking the mug from Hoseok's hands. It had been just a few minutes and Jimin was already feeling uncomfortable, but he decided to not give up and try his best to act normal. He just had to remember that he and Hoseok were just friends, and that’s it.
“So, show me these pictures, Mr. Model.” Hoseok laughed queitly, sitting on the arm of Jimin’s armchair and taking a sip of a coffee. Well, the fact that there was no couch in Hoseok’s flat might be problematic, and Jimin had just realized that. He had totally forgotten that his hyung didn’t have a sofa, just few armchairs. And that mean…
“We’re going to be sleeping together?! In bed?!” Jimin panicked in his mind, searching for his phone in his backpack. From what he remembered, Hoseok’s bed was rather small. Everything in his flat was comfortable for a man living alone, but Jimin thought that it was just making things harder for him. All that had been left for him was the thought that Hoseok would at least wear some proper clothes to sleep, not just his underwear.
“Woow, that’s a good photo!” Hoseok said suddenly, taking Jimin’s phone from his hands to take a better look. “You look great, Jimin…” he admitted after few seconds, ruffling younger’s hair and sweeping forward for the next picture. Jimin tried his best to tell all interesting details about the whole photoshooting and not forget anything important. It was really hard for him to stay cool and don’t blush when Hoseok kept complementing literally each and every photo. Jimin wasn’t sure if his hyung was serious or just being nice, either way it was really pleasant to hear all those sweet things. So pleasant he actually forgot what pictures he had saved on his phone. But it was already too late.
“Heeey, you still have those pictures?” Hoseok gasped from disbelief, sending Jimin quite surprised look. He had never thought that Jimin would have their old photos from times when they had still been a band. The one he was looking at was a screenshot from that one Rookie King episode when they had made a makeover for Suga.
Jimin couldn’t help but giggle seeing a lipstick all over Yoongi’s face. Yes, he still got those photos, just because they were his best memories. He liked looking through them to recall some funny situations and laugh at his old band members. But now he was trying to remember to himself what pictures he had beside that one. He knew he had saved some of old Hoseok photos, and that meant he should get his phone back as soon as possible.
“Hyung, how about we watch Rookie King’s episodes again? It’s been a while since I’ve seen then.” Jimin proposed suddenly, taking his phone from Hoseok’s hands without him even noticing a change in Jimin’s voice. His idea was unexpected and sudden, but when he thought about it, it could be really nice to watch that series again, laugh at themselves and their friends doing silly tasks.
“Yeah, I can’t remember when I’ve seen it the last time, too.” Hoseok admitted, smiling in his usual, sunny way, and got up to turn on the tv. “I should have all the episodes on the CD, somewhere…” he mumbled more to himself then Jimin, searching through his movies. In that way he gave Jimin enough time to delete all of Hoseok’s photos from his phone and calm down a little bit. It would be unbearable if Hoseok saw his own pictures on Jimin’s phone. Not couple, but exactly 47 photos if we want to be precise.
“Here it is!” Hoseok announced, and few seconds later the opening of Rookie King appeared on the screen. The older boy made his way back to the armchair and instead of sitting on it like before, he managed to squeeze himself right next to Jimin. “Oh my god, just look at our hairstyles!” Hoseok added enthusiastically, pointing on the screen with his finger. He put his legs on the arm of the chair, leaning his back on Jimin’s shoulder, but it still was really uncomfortable. But his dongsaeng didn’t seem to care or listen to his hyung, being more busy controlling the impulse to run away immediately. He thought that Hoseok would take one of the free, unoccupied armchair, but it looked like he had missed Jimin that much he had to share the seat with him. He couldn’t grumble, though, it was nice having his hyung so close to him for next couple of hours.
After few episodes the atmosphere became normal again, Jimin was feeling comfortable again and stopped worrying about his and Hoseok’s behavior. They’re laughing their heads of, pointing out their old, weird hairstyles and clothes. But then it was the time for that episode. The one that every fan of BTS will remember forever, just because of one, memorable scene. Hoseok should be worried more than Jimin, though, because it was him who had shared a legendary kiss with Taehyung, but he seemed to be more amused than troubled.
“Can we skip this part, please?” he whined loudly right into Jimin’s ear, who was almost crying from laughing that hard. Hoseok and Taehyung’s faces were taking the whole screen now, and their lips were inches away from touching. Memories hit both Jimin and Hoseok, who remembered that episode the best from whole Rookie King, they could clearly recall the chaos after boys had kissed and that the rest of the members had been nagging them for next few weeks. But they couldn’t see the kiss again, as tv, along with other electronic devices in the house, suddenly went off. The room became totally dark, Jimin and Hoseok wasn’t even able to see their own noses. The light on the streets must had gone off as well, and no light was entering the room.
“Well, at least it happened in the right moment.” Hoseok said, being the first to break the awkward silence. There was nothing left to do but to use their phones as flashlights and find some candles. And that’s what they did, searching through all the drawers in the living room just to find candles in Hoseok’s bedroom. Their soft light made the room all cozy, and atmosphere had changed as well. At least Jimin was the one who noticed that, and even though they we no longer sitting in the same armchair, Hoseok’s presence suddenly became harder to bear. The way he kept walking across the room trying to find something, or how his soft voice was giving Jimin chills, all these things was making younger boy want to escape. Or at least hide somewhere where he could be alone, away from this walking tease.
“Jiminnie, do you want to take a shower first?” Hoseok asked, coming back from his bedroom with a clean towel for his dongsaeng. Jimin took it from him and just nodded in response, suddenly happy about darkness surrounding them. At least Hoseok couldn’t see how embarrassed Jimin was, looking everywhere but his hyung face. The light coming from candles made Hoseok's face look so mysterious and attractive that Jimin had to control himself really well not to take a picture or stare at it for another hour. He also started to think his crash on Hoseok wasn’t really that small.
“Fuck my life.” Jimin cursed suddenly, his words followed by a loud meowing and sound of small paws running across the room. “I’m going to kill this cat, I swear…” he added, directing the light from his phone inside his backpack and pulling out his clothes, all covered in cat’s hair. He couldn’t wear them now, they all stank, and it had frustrated him even more.
“What happened?” Hoseok sounded worried, even though he couldn’t even see what was happening, browsing through his phone, sitting in the armchair on the other side of the room.
“My cat just …” Jimin started, not even bothering with hiding his irritation, coming up to his hyung with his t-shirt, all covered with cat’s hair. “Just look at it.” he added, throwing the piece of clothing on Hoseok’s lap like it was all his fault.
“I can lend you something tomorrow, no need to get angry.” the older boy responded, all calm and relaxed like nothing was happening. And when Jimin actually thought about it, it’s wasn’t really nothing important, just a shirt. But…
“What am I going to sleep in, though?” he asked after a minute of hesitation, locking his and Hoseok stare for a brief moment, before the other one burst out with laughter.
“Just sleep in your underwear!” Hoseok answered, like it was the most obvious thing on earth. “I did the same when staying at your place, so don’t worry about clothes.” the last words made Jimin uncomfortable again. Yes, Hoseok was right, he slept in his underwear only, but Jimin wasn’t Hoseok, and his feeling towards his friend wasn’t the same. Of course he could sleep in his briefs this one time, but he had especially brought some pajamas with him to not walk around half-naked. Maybe Hoseok was ok with that, but younger boy would rather avoid such situations.
“Can I just borrow one of your old t-shirts?” Jimin finally asked, looking up on Hoseok’s face again, just to see his amused smile. He was clearly having fun right now, with Jimin acting like a virgin. “I get really cold at night, you know that.” he added quickly, making the most credible excuse he could think of. And it worked, because just a minute later he got Hoseok’s t-shirt, one of these old, stretched out, with a hole underneath the right arm. It was totally ok, though, Jimin was excited more than he should, so he quickly thanked his hyung and locked himself in the dark bathroom, only with his phone as a source of light. But it didn’t matter, the only important thing was the shirt itself. Jimin had never thought that at some point in his life, he’s going to bury his face in his friend shirt, inhaling its scent while blushing like a teenage girl.
“I really do need help…” he whispered to himself, putting the t-shirt on after a short shower. Wearing Hoseok clothes felt so good, Jimin couldn’t believe that small thing made him so happy. But thinking about sleeping in the same bed with him again made Jimin’s cheeks turn red and butterflies in his stomach want to escape. “Come on, you can do this. Just remember, watch your own blanket, face the wall and pretend you’re sleeping with your grandmother.” Jimin reminded himself before leaving the bathroom, all clean and smelling like a citrus stall (as Hoseok adored citruses and all his cosmetics had that exact smell).
“I’ll be back in a minute.” Hoseok said and yawned loudly before disappearing in the bathroom, right after Jimin had reached the bedroom. At least he gave his dongsaeng pick the bed side he wanted to sleep on. Younger boy took a quick look around, using his phone as a flashlight, and discovered another horrifying thing. The bed. There was only one duvet. One duvet for them both. Jimin panicked once again, slipping under the sheets and trying to take as little place as possible. It wasn’t easy, though, because as he had well remembered earlier, Hoseok’s bed wasn’t really that big. It was something between one and two person furniture, which meant that staying away from each other all night was clearly impossible. It wasn’t a surprise then when Jimin was almost trembling under the sheets when he heard Hoseok leaving the bathroom. His hyung had put down all the candles in the living room before coming to the bed room and taking the other side of the bed. Thanks god he was dressed in more than his famous black briefs.
“I hope you’re not cold, hm?” he whispered to Jimin, or rather to Jimin’s back, as the younger boy was carefully fulfilling his plan from earlier. He was lying quietly, focused on the dark wall before him, trying to ignore warmth radiating from Hoseok’s body.
“No, I’m not. It’s ok, hyung. Goodnight.” Jimin answered quietly, cutting the conversation off in the same time. He didn’t feel like talking, especially after that Rookie King episode and the last scene from it. At some point their talk would probably turn into discussion if Hoseok had enjoyed the kiss with Taehyung or if he wanted to try it with another man or things like that. Well, at least these were the questions Jimin really wanted to ask his hyung, but was obviously too shy to do so. And he didn’t want to make him suspicious. He wanted to keep his feelings hidden, right? At least as long as possible, as long as he could manage to fool his own mind. Hoseok’s loud snoring was really annoying in the beginning, but it ended up putting Jimin to sleep, just like a lullaby.
__
It was past 5 am when Jimin woke up, but he didn’t know that, he couldn’t see a watch or first rays of sunshine creeping behind the curtains. The first thing he had felt was that he was really, really cold. He should had borrowed some pants from Hoseok, too, but now it was already too late. He couldn’t hear anything, so he thought that his hyung must be still sleeping, so all he did was opening his eyes. All he could see was Hoseok’s face, calm and relaxed, eyes still closed. It took all of his self-control to not jump back and stay in place in order not to wake his hyung up. His face was right next to Jimin’s, Hoseok was practically breathing against his face, his warm breath escaping from his slightly parted lips and going right into Jimin’s nose. Jimin wanted to run away and stay in the same place forever in the same time, feeling a series of chills running up his spine. And not only from all the excitement caused by Hoseok’s proximity, but also from the fact that he had stolen all the sheets, leaving Jimin only in his t-shirt and underwear. But younger boy wasn’t complaining at all, he was just admiring the view and enjoying this brief moment when his hyung was so close to him. It wasn't susrpising when his heart almost stopped when Hoseok moved a little bit in his sleep coming even closer, and softly brushed his lips against Jimin’s, causing a silent moan escape younger’s mouth. There it was, the thing he had been thinking about for the past minute or two, it just happened and Hoseok wasn’t even aware of it. Jimin felt terrible about it, feeling the blush crawling onto his cheeks. He wanted fall asleep again and dance in the same, dance or run a marathon, and maybe kiss Hoseok for some more, but his common sense kept him in place, not allowing to move even for an inch. Thank god Jimin had managed to close his eyes before Hoseok opened his, because he’d surely die from embarrassment, even though he was almost sure that his hyung hadn’t even noticed their little kiss. Could he even count that as a kiss? Jimin could feel Hoseok moving under the sheets for a few seconds, before covering Jimin with duvet and pulling him closer. At first Jimin thought that he had fallen asleep again, but Hoseok’s arms wrapping around his waist swept away all the doubts, and Hoseok nose buried in Jimin’s hair made his heart want to escape his chest. Jimin couldn’t believe that all was happening in real life, it felt way too good for him to accept the fact he wasn’t dreaming. Hoseok’s sweet scent filling his nostrils was real, his legs tangled with his own were real too, and Jimin just prayed to god to not let Hoseok feel how fast his heart was beating. It was nearly impossible, though, as he pulled Jimin so close to him he could actually feel Hoseok’s calm, regular heartbeat and how is chest kept moving every time Hoseok was taking a breath in. Jimin had waited for a few minutes before taking a quick peek at his hyung face, making sure his eyes were closed and the boy was sleeping. He kept wondering if Hoseok had done it all while half-sleeping or if he had been wide awake while making all these embarrassing things. Because if he hadn’t been asleep, that could mean that he may had a little crash on Jimin too, and this thought itself made Jimin feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It would be totally perfect, Jimin wouldn’t have to hide his own feelings anymore or worry about their friendship. But he himself couldn’t believe in such an easy and lucky situation like this, he was almost sure that Hoseok was barely aware of his actions, doing everything subconsciously.
Yea, it sounded much more realistic.
It hadn’t brought Jimin down, though. He decided to take advantage of his current position and enjoy those volatile minutes without worrying about future. So he wrapped his arms around Hoseok waist and buried his nose in the curve of his neck, nestling into his hyung’s chest.
And he wasn’t cold any more.
__
It wasn’t Hoseok who woke Jimin up. It wasn’t his warm hand caressing his cheek, his hot breath ghosting over his neck or any of those nice things he had been dreaming about. It was Oliver who woke him up, he was meowing loudly right into Jimin’s ear and stroking his owner’s cheek with his paws.
“I’m up, I’m up…” Jimin mumbled quietly, rubbing the sleep off of his eyes. It took him a few seconds to realized he’s completely alone in bed, no sight of Hoseok in the bedroom. Only the trace of his body’s warmth convinced Jimin he hadn’t been sleeping alone at night. He would love to spend some extra time in bed with his hyung, but he knew it was totally impossible. He was also wondering what his hyung had thought when he woke up with Jimin clinging on him like a koala, and it quickly made him embarrassed again. Suddenly he didn’t want to see Hoseok again, afraid to what his hyung had thought about him last night. What is he already knew everything? About Jimin being just a little bit attracted to him?
It was really funny, though, that all these precious moments with Hoseok had been happening while Jimin’s hyung was asleep, unconscious and unaware of his actions. That didn’t meant those moments weren’t precious, but it made Jimin feel weird, almost like a pervert who was taking advantages of the situation. It wasn’t his fault that Hoseok had been acting like that last night, though, or that he liked walking around in his underwear only. Anyone would had fallen for Hoseok, and Jimin was that unlucky that he was his best friend in the same time.
He finally made himself get up and head to the kitchen, as he suddenly felt really hungry. They hadn’t eaten much last evening, just some snacks before the electricity went off, so it wasn’t surprising that Jimin wanted to eat something immediately. His cat followed him of course, meowing like crazy for the whole time, probably being hungry as well. When Jimin entered the kitchen, still feeling Hoseok’s warmth all over his own body, he had to take a step back and control the quiet moan that wanted to escape his mouth.
“Of course he has to be in his underwear only. It’s his house, he can walk around half-naked if he want to…” Jimin tried to calm himself down, which seemed to be almost impossible after what had happened last night. Seeing that much of Hoseok naked skin after cuddling with him (being unconscious but it still counted so yea) at night wasn’t really a good combination, so let’s all understand the fact that Hoseok’s sunny smile along with his messy hair and bedroom sleepy eyes almost knocked Jimin down off his feet. He didn’t have a choice but to hide his embarrassment in the best way he knew, which meant laughing it off.
“You’re really such a wifey material, hyung.” he said finally, taking a quick peek at the pancakes Hoseok was making. He tried to sound as confident as possible, but his voice was still hoarse from sleep and the fact that it cracked at the end made his words sound even funnier. Jimin sat down on top of the kitchen island again, mostly because in that way he was facing Hoseok’s back, which meant absolutely no awkward eye contact or more stupid smiles.
“Maybe I should start looking for a husband then, not a girlfriend, hm?” the older boy suddenly answered, making Jimin want to combust. “No way he said that…” Jimin thought to himself, watching his hyung turning around and sending him a meaningful smile before coming back and focusing on pancakes. He didn’t take it back, he didn’t laugh about it – he just looked at Jimin and smiled. Younger boy could clearly feel how red his cheeks must be and how dumb he must look with his mouth wide opened, but Hoseok hadn’t made any comment on those things, too. His words were so sudden and unexpected that they made Jimin wonder about the last night again. Maybe Hoseok wasn’t asleep, maybe he just wanted to hold him? Maybe he felt the need for something else than innocent friendship? He wanted to ask him about that, but he obviously didn’t. Silence that had been surrounding them became unbearable after few minutes, but for Jimin’s luck, pancakes were finally ready and he didn’t have to say anything, he just stuffed his mouth with food and tried to look everywhere else but Hoseok’s face. Or his naked chest.
“Weren’t you cold last night?” it was Hoseok who had broken the silence, drinking his coffee and keeping his stare on Jimin’s face. Younger boy almost choked on his food, but somehow managed to mumble a silent “a little bit” in response, thinking if Hoseok was trying to make a point or if he was just being worried. Maybe it was another clue that Hoseok wasn’t sleeping when he made Jimin’s heart stop the last night? “That’s because I totally forgot to close the window, I'm sorry. Next time just ask for another blanket,ok? ” Hoseok added after few seconds, then got up from his chair and ruffled Jimin’s hair before disappearing in the living room. Jimin felt that butterflies in his stomach were acting crazy again, but it didnt' matter anyway. There was another blanket. And that meant that Hoseok purposely made them both sleep under one duvet, and that one think made Jimin smile like a completely idiot.
“Hyung, I wasn’t cold at all because your body kept he warm all night and I hope you didn’t forget that because if you did then I can help you remember the next time and.... yeah, that’s what I should have said.” Jimin thought, finishing his coffee and pancakes. He had been hoping that Hoseok remembered, maybe just a little bit, but the fact that his hyung prbably didn’t, made Jimin really sad. On the other hand, his hyung’s comment on finding the husband was extremely weird. Right, Hoseok wasn’t dating anyone, but he was always interested in girls only, at least Jimin thought so.
“You used to be interested in girls only too, remember?” he thought to himself, trying to imagine him and Hoseok being together, holding hands and stuff. It did felt a little bit weird and awkward, but in the same time it felt… it just felt right. Maybe because they were always really close to each other? Or maybe because Jimin's crush on his friend wasn't that small~
“Jiminnie, do you want another t-shirt to change?” Hoseok’s voice brought Jimin back to earth, and before he knew he just screamed a loud, enthusiastic “OF COURSE I DO!” in response and run across the kitchen to the living room.
Maybe he just had to wait a little bit longer for things to work out?
“No matter how long I am supposed to wait – I’ll wait.” Jimin thought, putting Hoseok’s t-shirt on and smiling to himself like an idiot, receiving a soft pat on his shoulder from his hyung. “He’s worth it.” he added to himself, locking his eyes with Hoseok once again.
__
When Hoseok woke up, he knew from the very beginning that something was wrong. Not really wrong meaning bad, but wrong meaning unusual. It took him just one look down to understand what was going on, and he couldn’t help but smile to himself. He suddenly wished he had a third hand so he could reach for his phone and take a picture without waking his dongsaeng up. Hoseok had never thought that one day he would wake up with Jimin nestled into his chest like a child, holding him tightly with his muscular arms, not allowing to move even for a bit. Hoseok did remembered tucking his younger friend to sleep earlier that night, but he did not remembered cuddling with him. It didn’t feel wrong though, he must had to admit that having Jimin so close to him felt really nice, that’s why he didn’t move away. Maybe his dongsaeng was acting a little bit weird lately, but it wasn’t a reason for Hoseok to leave him cold and lonely under the sheets. He liked that kid, especially now when they’re both living their own lives as themselves, not just members of a band. They could do whatever they want to with their friendship, even if that meant… Hoseok quickly shook his head. He was almost sure he was exaggerating Jimin’s behavior and making himself count on something that will probably never happen. It wasn’t a good time for that kind of thoughts, though, so he just pulled the sheets up and covered Jimin’s back before wrapping his arms around boy’s waist again. He was just hoping he’d wake up and escape that awkward scene before his dongsaeng could realize anything.
Hoseok really liked the idea of having Jimin that close to him each and every night for the rest of his life, but he knew it was just another stupid wish. This precious moment will be gone soon, gone without Jimin even noticing it had ever happened.
Chapter 4: ... found out he's the only one.
Chapter Text
“I can’t believe we have met him!”
Jimin just sighed deeply. It was already the 10th time Hoseok said that, and he was still as excited as when he had actually met Taehyung earlier that evening. His eyes were glued to the screen of the phone, when he was chatting with his friend since he and Jimin had left the pub. It was Jimin who asked Hoseok out for a beer, it was a Friday evening and he had a very shitty day. He just wanted to hang out and talk, or rather vent, and Hoseok was obviously the closest person he could talk to. But he hadn’t even had a chance to get to the point of his problem, when Taehyung had suddenly showed up. The way he and Hoseok kept cuddling and touching each other had been making Jimin go insane, but he had somehow managed to keep a straight face and act like he’s having a good time. Don’t get me wrong, he had been very happy seeing Tae after such a long time, it was incredible how he suddenly showed up the pub (he was in town because of the premiere of the new opera he’s playing in and he thought it would be nice to visit their old favorite pub and bla bla bla~) and Jimin was glad they had a chance to see each other, but it had been supposed to be his and Hoseok’s time. Jimin needed his hyung’s help, and Taehyung ruined everything. It obviously wasn’t about how he and Hoseok almost had cried when they saw each other, or how long they have been hugging each other, or how they had been complementing each other, or how they had exchanged phone numbers and Tae hadn’t even asked for Jimin’s, or how he had been generally ignoring his dongsaeng’s presence for a whole evening. Of course it hadn’t made Jimin upset. Of course.
“Yea, that’s fantastic, but could you please stop texting him? You have been talking like 5 minutes ago.” Jimin replied, not even trying to hide bitterness in his voice. The fact that they all had drunken so much wasn’t helpful at all. Jimin was probably the most sober one, he was too busy watching those love birds all the time, but Hoseok had drunken a lot. That’s why Jimin had to hold his arm all the way to his house to prevent his friend from falling down. It had own pluses of course, he could at least control what Hoseok and Tae were talking about. Ok, maybe it wasn’t really fair, but he was doing it all from pure worry about his best friend. Of course he knew Taehyung, he knew that he wasn’t a bad person, but he’d rather know what’s going on between him and Hoseok until it’s too late. Maybe Jimin hadn’t fully accepted his crush on his hyung, but that didn’t mean he’d give up and let someone else take him from him, no way.
“Can we talk now? I need your advice.” Jimin took up the topic when they finally entered his flat and made themselves comfortable in the kitchen. Hoseok was still on his phone, caring more about the tea Jimin had him than about his friend himself.
“Hey, are you even listening?”
Hoseok just nodded in response, not even lifting his eyes from the screen. Jimin sighed deeply, watching his hyung carefully. He was smiling like a little child after getting a new toy. And Jimin felt terrible, he really needed to get something off his chest, and it had to be Hoseok to hear him out. Being ignored in such a moment was only making Jimin feel worse.
“So… I had this photoshoot today. I mean..” he started quietly, not really caring if Hoseok was listening to him. He just wanted to let it out, maybe it will be enough for him to feel better. When he looked at Hoseok, his stare was shifting between the phone’s screen and Jimin’s face. Well, that’s something, at least he was paying a little bit of attention.
“I mean that I didn’t have that photoshoot. The photographer said he had changed his mind about me.”
“What did he said exactly?” Hoseok shifted in his seat, leaning more in Jimin’s direction and sending him a confused stare before smiling like an idiot all over again when he hear a notification from Tae.
“He said I’m too fat.” Jimin said quietly, trying to stop his voice from shaking. He felt like shit after that, and now, talking about it and knowing that Hoseok didn’t even care was making him want to cry like a baby. “I mean, I know I am, but he shouldn’t have sa-“
“You are not fat, what the fuck?!” Hoseok suddenly cut him off, finally putting his phone away and focusing his stare on Jimin’s face. Hoseok’s eyes seemed to be less blurry already, probably because of what his dongsaeng had said. They both knew the older boy was really drunk, but now he looked more sober than ever. Jimin almost fell off his chair, Hoseok’s reaction was totally unexpected for him. But he was also really glad that his hyung had finally noticed his problem.
“He said you’re too fat?”
Jimin just nodded in response at first, but then quickly got up and looked at his body in disgust. Even during their promotions as a band, Hoseok was the only member who would tell Jimin how good he looked, how his muscles became more visible, how he should stop dieting and so on. And even though Jimin knew his hyung was right, he still couldn’t believe him. So when he looked up at Hoseok, he was surprised by meeting his confused, and the most importantly, annoyed stare. Incoming notifications seemed to be extremely loud in that moment of silence, and Hoseok looked really angry.
“I mean, I can understand him…” Jimin’s fingers were shaking a little bit while he was touching his own arms, stomach and cheeks. It could be an alcohol running through his veins, but it also could be helplessness, or a mixture of both that was making his whole body feel light and fragile, like his own legs couldn’t bear his weight for too long. “…just look at me, look at all this fat.” he continued with even quieter voice, avoiding Hoseok’s intense stare. He knew his hyung was drunk as well, but he also knew how he hated when Jimin called himself fat. Hoseok understood what he should do in moments like that, and Jimin was thankful that he hadn’t had to said it out loud. Jimin felt safe again, Hoseok’s attention was enough to make him feel better already.
“Show me this fat then.” Hoseok commanded with sharp voice, making a few steps in Jimin’s direction. He looked mad, but he wasn’t really, not at Jimin at least. He had been through a lot trying to convince Jimin he actually looked amazingly good, and the fact that some random photographer ruined it all was ridiculous. How Jimin can be still so insecure about his body? Hoseok was worried that even all those years working as a model couldn’t make Jimin confident about his appearance. And it was probably the biggest misery Hoseok was sure he will never solve.
“Well…there’s some here…” Jimin started hesitantly, touching his left shoulder and pinching skin which was supposed to be that fat he’s talking about. He was trying to avoid Hoseok’s stare at all cost, knowing that his hyung is probably seriously pissed, but even fully focusing his eyes on his own body didn’t saved him from what Hoseok had planned. He quickly grabbed Jimin’s wrist and led him to the bedroom, right in front of a big mirror hanging on one of the walls there. Jimin was way to dazed by both alcohol and Hoseok’s actions to protest, but he clearly couldn’t fool his own body. Standing there on front of a mirror and looking at his own reflection made him even more gloomy, but it obviously wasn’t the reason behind bright red blush crawling onto his cheeks. Because Jimin just couldn’t ignore the fact that Hoseok was standing right behind him, his hands resting lazily on his waist. The way he was looking at Jimin in the mirror almost made his heart stop. His stare was blurry though, Hoseok was still a bit drunk, but there were a slight traces of determination in his eyes, determination and adoration, which made the younger boy feel all dizzy. After being ignored for almost all evening, this sudden dose of attention felt like too much already. Jimin almost whined loudly when Hoseok pulled himself even closer and rested his chin on his shoulder, locking his dongsaeng in a lose embrace.
“So show me this fat again.” Hoseok took up the subject again, his voice suddenly low and a bit hoarse. He thought that maybe this method would finally bring some permanent results. Maybe when Jimin saw that his body is actually mostly made of muscles, not fat, he would end this subject for good.
“Here.” Jimin replied shortly with shaky voice, pointing at his own stomach. He tried to look at himself more than at Hoseok, but he couldn’t just ignore the other boy’s proximity. He totally loved the way his hyung was pressing his body against his own, and the fact that Jimin wasn’t sober was probably the only reason why he hadn’t fainted yet. It was so weird, just a little bit of alcohol was enough to make the atmosphere change completely. And it felt really wrong for the same reason.
“Where?” Hoseok asked quickly, moving his hands a little bit lower from Jimin’s waist. He felt how Jimin’s body tensed up in a split of second, but it wasn’t the reason Hoseok couldn’t stop himself from smiling. It was because of that small whine that had come out of Jimin’s mouth when Hoseok tugged on the hem of younger’s shirt and lifted it up soon after, revealing his naked stomach (and a sharp line of dark hair leading from Jimin’s navel to a very special place, hidden under his pants; Hoseok had to try his best to keep his eyes away from that feature~).
“Hmmm? Where is it?” Hoseok continued with his questions, shifting his stare between Jimin’s face and his stomach. The younger boy was feeling like an animal caught in a trap, with no way out, face to face with a predator. His hyung was always very affectionate, liked to touch others a lot and it was totally fine, but now, as Jimin was trying to survive and cure himself from his crush on a friend, that kind of behavior was the last thing he wanted. Hoseok’s hands were making Jimin insane, his fingertips felt like butterflies leaving soft kisses on his stomach, and it made Jimin’s body heat up even more.
“I’m sorry, Jiminnie, but I can’t see this fat you’re talking about…” Hoseok stated finally, releasing Jimin’s shirt and letting it cover boy’s stomach. Jimin just let out a deep sigh, taking a quick peek at Hoseok’s face in a mirror. His eyes seemed to be glued to Jimin’s face, he was focused only on him in that specific moment. Younger boy felt how the alcohol was slowly evaporating from his body, leaving him sober and weaker in Hoseok’s hands. His brain was finally starting to work normally, he realized his current position could lead to much more serious things. He knew how clingy his hyung was becoming when drunk, and that situation could be very problematic if Jimin just stayed in place and let things happen. He really needed Hoseok’s help, he wanted his hyung to build up his self-confidence and make him feel better. But in this situation, with Hoseok being way drunker than Jimin, things may turned into…something, and Jimin would regret it later. He didn’t want to feel like he took the opportunity when Hoseok wasn’t sober. He had to break their contact now, before his hyung would get “into the mood”. So he forced a shy smile on his face and leaned back even more, right between Hoseok’s arms, just to enjoy the last few seconds of his proximity. Of course he would like to stay, but not in those circumstances. He will make Hoseok needy one day, needy for Jimin’s presence and body, but it’ll take much more effort, and it’ll be worth much more, too.
“Maybe… maybe you’re right..?” he finally spoke up, carefully watching his hyung’s face to see if he can suspect his little swindle. Hoseok was a type of guy who would do a lot of things after drinking, but fooling him was still hard. He was a smart guy, he could read people’s body language very well, he could tell everything from other’s facial expressions, just like he could read mind. But this time, all thanks to alcohol (“and meeting his precious Taehyung” Jimin thought), he wasn’t as alert as he should be. He smiled back at Jimin’s reflection in the mirror and tightened his grip around younger’s waist, leaning more forward to actually look at his dongsaeng face.
“See? I’m always right.” Hoseok replied with his usual sunny smile, not letting Jimin go, even despite that his body seemed to be shaking a little bit in his embrace. “Let’s leave this topic for good, ok? Don’t bring that up again. And don’t listen to other people’s bullshit.” he added after a while, still keeping his stare on Jimin’s face. Younger boy had to try his best to not let his moans escape his mouth. The way Hoseok’s breath was ghosting against the skin on his neck was unbearable, Jimin could feel his heart beating faster than it should have, and he was praying to all the gods in the world to not let Hoseok notice that.
“You know that your cheeks are adorable, right?” the older boy continued, his face getting closer and closer to Jimin’s, who had been truly terrified at this point. His nose was picking up the strong smell of alcohol coming from Hoseok’s mouth, and he felt how close his hyung had gotten to him. Jimin was just about to laugh the whole situation off and try his luck to escape Hoseok’s strong grip, but then a loud melody came from the kitchen. It took them a few seconds to realize it was Hoseok’s phone ringing, but he didn’t seem to care. His eyes were still focused on Jimin’s face, who had finally decided to turn his head around and look back at his smiling hyung.
“I think it’s yours. Maybe it’s Taehyung.” the younger boy said with a big smile, carefully taking Hoseok’s hands from his waist and creating a distance between their bodies. He had to take the opportunity and try to change the subject for something less intimate and … awkward.
“You don’t want to pick it up?”
Hoseok looked like a child who hadn’t gotten his candy. His smile turned into a sad one, and his eyes dropped to the floor like he knew he had done something bad. What’s weird was that he didn’t rush to pick up the phone, even though it could be only Tae calling at that hour. Jimin was expecting him to run as quickly as possible and chat on his phone for another hour. His heart was aching while thinking about that it’d be Taehyung on the other side, but he couldn’t say anything. He looked down at his hands, still occupied by Hoseok’s slim fingers even though he had backed away from him, and couldn’t help but smile. They looked so pathetic, like in some cheap romantic drama. Jimin could bet Hoseok would laugh if he was sober.
When the phone stopped ringing, Hoseok looked up at Jimin, bright smile back at his lips again.
“I have something more important to do here.” he replied cheerfully, noticing how Jimin’s face was slowly turning red. He maybe was drunk, but not blind. “I know you’re mad at me, I was acting like an asshole in the pub. I’m sorry.” he added after a few seconds, sending Jimin an apologetic stare. The younger boy had to swallow a giant lump in his throat before he could even open his mouth.
“No, it’s ok now. I understand, you must have just missed Tae…” he said with a weak voice, gently shaking of Hoseok’s hand, and then headed to the kitchen. He didn’t expect Hoseok to pick up this topic, he thought his hyung is too drunk to notice Jimin’s irritation. That whole situation was so weird, Jimin’s thoughts were in one big mess. What was even happening? Drunk Hoseok touching him in not-so-friendly way, apologizing him for previous behavior, not picking up calls from his dear Taehyung… It was like a rollercoaster, he didn’t know what to expect to happen next.
Jimin walked up to the window, leaning a little bit forward over the windowsill, and took a big breath. He tried to make himself look ordinary, Hoseok would be able to tell that Tae made Jimin mad and nervous. The older boy entered the kitchen a few seconds after his dongsaeng, but he stopped right at the doors.
“I know you’re jealous, Jimin.” Hoseok started off, and Jimin’s heart sank immediately. It was over, Hoseok already knew about Jimin’s crush on him, fantastic. Jimin’s mouth hang open like he was trying to catch his breath, when in reality he was thinking about what he should say now, how should he react. Should he just admit that he was having a strong feeling towards his friend, or maybe he should deny everything and laugh it all off? None of the options seemed to be nice, and Jimin was glad he was facing the window now, not Hoseok. Keeping a straight face seemed to be impossible.
“You are my best friend, ok? Nobody will take me away from you, even Taehyung” the older boy said again with a serious face, and took a few steps in Jimin’s direction, carefully watching his dongsaeng reaction. He probably did notice how weirdly his friend had been acting all evening, he knew him too well to let go of such things.
“Yeah, I was afraid you’d start to hang out with him more often than with me…” Jimin admitted finally, deciding to roll with what Hoseok had said. The fact that his crush was still a secret made him a little bit calmer, at least they didn’t have to make any tough decisions while being … not sober at all.
“I know you were always really close, with each other, so it’ll be totally ok with me i-“ Jimin took up again, but cut off soon after, feeling Hoseok’s chest pressing against his back. He hadn’t even heard when his hyung came up to him, and his hands wrapping tightly around his neck make Jimin hold his breath. Drunk Hoseok was being really a pain in the ass that day, taking into consideration that Jimin would rather avoid any physical contact, he was too confused with his own feelings. And heat radiating from Hoseok’s body was only making it worse.
“H-hyung, what exactly… are you doing right now?” Jimin asked after a few seconds, when Hoseok hadn’t picked up their conversation, giving only a silent whine in response, while his nose was nuzzling around Jimin’s ear and his nape. Jimin could feel this well known, warm sensation growing up in his stomach, his whole body heated up immediately, every breath was delimited by Hoseok’s tight embrace. Jimin wanted to look back, but in the same time was too scared to do so. It all felt so incredibly stupid, he had Hoseok all for himself, drunk and willingly to play with him, but it still felt awkward to be touched by him in that way. It was all happening too quickly, Jimin wanted to cure himself from these feelings, but by reactions his body was giving, it wouldn’t be that easy. He was craving Hoseok’s presence, his affection and touch, but receiving it all at once, so suddenly and unexpectedly was way too overwhelming. Jimin managed to not drift away in Hoseok’s arms, trying to ignore tingly sensation in his heart area.
“You’re just…. you’re the only one, ok?” Hoseok said finally, or rather moaned softly right into Jimin’s ear, making him shiver in his embrace. Jimin could swear he was doing it on purpose, when the truth was that Hoseok was way too wasted to care about his voice and how he sounded to others. But when Jimin remained silent, giving him no answer at all, he got actually worried. He didn’t want to make Jimin mad, obviously, he thought it’d make him feel better, especially after their earlier talk.
“Heeyyyy…” Hoseok whined more insistently, and leaned more forward just to take a look at his dongsaeng’s face. It wasn’t helpful at all, as Jimin’s face was perfectly blank, his mouth gently opened, eyes glued to the window before him. He seemed to totally ignore what Hoseok had told him. But he couldn’t ignore it when his hyung started nestling his cheek against his, making a lot of inappropriate and weird noises, just like a needy pet he was, causing Jimin to burst out into quiet giggle, which just encouraged Hoseok to keep doing what he was doing. They were both laughing just a few seconds later, Jimin still squeezed between Hoseok’s arms.
“I don’t want anyone else but you.” the older boy said suddenly, stopping his little tortures and letting them both to breath. He could feel that Jimin wasn’t that tensed anymore, he was smiling cheerfully like always, his head slightly turned to the side so he could see his hyung. The atmosphere wasn’t that heavy anymore, even though they’re still stuck in a their friendly embrace. But when Jimin heard Hoseok’s words, he almost lost control of his body, only his hyung’s strong hands were keeping him in place and not allowing to fall. He thought the awkward talk is over, and then Hoseok hit him again with this confession. Jimin turned his head to face the window again, hoping that his hyung hadn’t noticed the slight glimpse of fear in his eyes. All Jimin could feel was Hoseok nestling his face back into curve of his neck, his warm breath ghosting against younger’s skins. Jimin had no idea what he should do in such situation. It was already too late to laugh it off, it looked like he had just ignored Hoseok’s words, and it made the situation awkward again. Or rather it was Hoseok who made it awkward. Maybe Jimin shouldn’t be so worried about his words? He knew his hyung is drunk, and when people are drunk they sometimes say … stuff. He probably won’t even remember what happened, and even if he will, then surely without such details.
“Yea, I should just let it slip and wait until he’s sober again. I’m probably over thinking it…” Jimin thought, letting out a deep sigh. He should probably say something, but the silence between him and Hoseok wasn’t even that weird. Jimin had to admit that besides weird circumstances, it was really nice having Hoseok that close, hearing nothing but their own, steady breathing. He let himself enjoy that precious moment, closing his eyes for a minute or two, relaxing his tensed body. But then he suddenly realized that his hyung’s arms weren’t hugging him that tightly anymore, and Hoseok’s breath became really calm and…
“Hyung, are you sleeping?” Jimin asked finally, trying to contain his laugh when he saw Hoseok’s face, eyes barely open, glued to Jimin’s face. “Do you want to stay here?” he added, but he regretted it almost immediately. It wasn’t a good idea, not at all. Having a drunk Hoseok over, walking around in his underwear and craving for physical contact may sounded good in Jimin’s fantasies, but not in reality. He was very lucky that his hyung was still awake enough to shake his head and let Jimin out of his grip.
“Nooo, just walk me home, ok?” he answered in sleepy voice, a bit hoarse already, and sent Jimin a soft smile before heading to the door. Jimin had never thought that seeing someone’s smile would make him that happy.

Chapter 5: ...got what he wanted.
Chapter Text
„Oy, Jiminnie!”
„Yes, hyun-FUCK!”
“Hmmm, excuse me?”
Jimin didn’t reply, but Oliver did it for him, letting out a loud, insane meow. Not once, but twice, followed by some extra hissing. Jimin just watched how cat ran away to hide in the bathroom after how his tail was crashed to the floor by Jimin’s foot. Every cat owner can relate to this kind of situation, right? You just want to enter the living room peacefully, and then next thing you know is that your cat had chosen the hallway as a best place to take a nap. If you’re lucky, you’ll only step on the tail, and sometimes it’s cat’s paw or other body part that become hurt. After this little furry victim disappeared in the bathroom, Jimin, picked up the phone again and let out a loud sigh.
“Yea, Hoseok, what do you want?”
It sounded much ruder than Jimin intended, but luckily it’s really hard to turn off Hoseok from doing anything. In the moments like that, his optimistic attitude is an actual bliss.
“We’re going out tonight.”
Jimin could clearly hear that his hyung is smiling. He’s probably planning something stupid, like movie marathon in this cheap cinema nearby, or fast food night out, or night at the gym…
“There’s this new club just a few minutes away from my house, so we’re going to check it out. Tonight.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, you’re asking me or you just already decided?” asked Jimin with a greatly performed frown and a small hiss at the end, but eventually he laughed shortly before adding “You know that I’m not really into clubs.”
Hoseok’s loud sigh said all about what he thought about Jimin’s preferences. Of course he already had made plans, he won’t change them now just because Jimin is being… Jimin.
“Just one hour, please.”
“Hyung…”
“Please. I’ll buy you food.”
“Alright. Pick me up at 9.”
Before hanging up two boys laugh out loudly and exchanged short goodbyes, and the next thing Jimin knew is that he had literally nothing to wear. He went straight to his wardrobe and opened its door widely, looking critically at his collection of shirts, t-shirts and trousers. And shoes, let’s not forget those.
He wanted to look really good. Really, damn good. It’s not that he wanted to impress anyone (maybe Hoseok a bit, of course), but because his hyung were always choosing the best clothes when they went up somewhere, it’s obvious Jimin didn’t want to stand out as this “worse-looking one”. He went through his t-shirts and decided to dress up simply, but with charm, so people won’t think that he actually tried really hard to look good. He took the clothes had chosen out of the wardrobe and laid them on the bed, looking at them one more time, just be sure they match each other.
Now all he had to do, was waiting. He had around 3 more hours to prepare himself, and of course he had to take care of his hair, but it was still way too early to do so. He killed some time with making himself and Oliver some food, even though he wasn’t really good at cooking as we all know, he managed to not hurt himself or destroy the kitchen. When he filled his stomach, he decided it’s the time to make himself look good. He took his time to style his hair before he changed his clothes, and at the time he was judging himself in the mirror, the doorbell rang.
Hoseok complimented his outfit which just made Jimin feeling extra good about himself. After a small chitchat they decided there’s no point in wasting more time and went out to the club. Of course this time Hoseok wasn’t driving them both, they took a bus instead, as both of them were planning on drinking that night.
The club was rather small for this kind of activities. It didn’t look very inviting from the outside, but Hoseok kept on saying that he knew what he’s doing and that Jimin won’t be disappointed. They already had gone all this way there so it would really a waste of time if they didn’t go in, so younger boy followed his hyung inside. The smell of smoke and sweat hit Jimin right after they opened the door, and as far as Jimin wanted to go outside right away, Hoseok’s strong grip on younger’s wrist just pulled him further into the room. The main dancefloor was extremely crowded. Jimin was expecting a lot of people as it was the grand opening night, but seriously? He had never been on a party like this. There were different people everywhere – drinking, smoking, dancing, talking, making out and other typical things people do in places like that.
“Nice.”
That was all Hoseok had to say before he pulled his friend to the bar and ordered small beers. In contrast to Jimin, he looked amused and pretty comfortable, when Jimin was fighting for every breath he was taking. That’s why he didn’t really like places like that. Not that he was trying to pretend to be a proper, good boy, but the atmosphere of this club was rather repulsive. Jimin focused on watching the people around him while they’re both waiting for their order. He could clearly see that there was much more girls than guys, and that most of the men were completely drunk. Sad to see, but he also noticed a few passed out girls lying around on the floor and sofas. Not that guards or service would care… Jimin just shook his head seeing how one of the guy was trying to put his hand inside that drank girl's pants, and – what’s even worse – she didn’t really mind that they’re around of so many people. She was all happy and totally enjoying herself when her “friend” was dragging her out to the men’s toilet. Jimin turned around to face Hoseok again, and what he met was his usual sunny smile.
“And? What can you say?”
Well, Jimin didn’t really know what he should say. It was a complete disaster already, and he was not really in the mood for doing anything in this place, but of course he didn’t want to make his friend upset. He just responded with a smile too and pointed out on the dancefloor and crowd dancing there.
“Looks nice, music is awesome.”
Yes, it wasn’t really a lie. If there was a thing that had actually made a good impression on Jimin, it was definitely music. And beer. Both of them were pretty good compared to, for example, cheap looking furniture.
“Come on, let’s show them how it should be done!”
Hoseok suddenly scream, finishing his beer in one go and leading his friend to the dancefloor. Jimin started to panic a little bit at that moment, because dancing in this sweaty, completely wasted crowd wasn’t really appealing for him. But he couldn’t say no when Hoseok asked him to dance, right? He just couldn’t refuse this offer, especially because it was a very good idea to get closer to each other. Literally, closer. The crowd was getting crazier and wilder with every song, people were jumping around not caring about people around them, and they completely forgot what private space is. It wasn’t a surprise then when Jimin and Hoseok ended up crashing into each other every now and then, especially when dj payed some very energetic song. Of course Jimin was trying his best to show off his dance moves, but it’s obvious he couldn’t beat Hoseok, a dance god himself. Even though they were just in some cheap club, his hyung was dancing like there’s no tomorrow. He wasn’t showing off, there was no need nor enough space to do so, but even those simple moves made Jimin’s heart beat a little bit faster. Every time their shoulder touched, or people around them suddenly made them crash into each other or push one on the other, Jimin wondered how long will he survive in this place. Hoseok seemed to be all over the place, smiling to these people, waving to this girl, dancing with this group and that group… and Jimin was completely focused on his hyung only. He didn’t want to miss anything from that moment. He was following his every move, every stare and every smile, and he could still hear his loud laugh even despite music.
But then, Jimin didn’t really know how it happened, he and Hoseok somehow split up. The younger boy found himself at the bar again, ordering another beer. He was totally exhausted after dancing in that crowd, and he hadn’t even realized when he lost sight of his friend. He decided to wait for him at the bar, it was obvious for him that Hoseok will get thirsty eventually and will come there soon. But minutes were passing, Jimin finished his second drink and Hoseok was still not there with him. Younger boy tried to look for him in the crowd but it was nearly impossible to notice a single person among all these people on the dancefloor. He even tried to call him, even though it was a bit stupid to hope that someone will hear their phone in a club. He almost gave up and wanted to go back at the bar, when…
He finally found him. He was standing near the tables, drinking something. And he wasn’t alone. There was this girl hanging on his shoulder, laughing loudly at something he just said and trying hard to look cute despite her hair being wet from sweat. She was very pretty, even Jimin had to admit that. Typical college girl, long blonde hair, short, colorful dress and nicely done make up. She was giving a nice and friendly vibe, she wasn’t drunk and could stand straight on her own, so it was really hard for Jimin to hate her. Well, maybe only for touching Hoseok, but nothing else. He really didn’t like the way Hoseok was completely fine with this kind of behavior. After those past few event, Jimin had actually started thinking that things can work out between them if he gave Hoseok some time to make up his mind and adjust. But now, seeing how comfortable he could get with a complete stranger girl? He could feel how small needles were slowly stinging his heart every time Hoseok and this girl's eyes met, when she laughed at his lame joke and ...
Jimin just sighed deeply and went back to the bar. He didn’t really know why would he even stay at that club any longer, but he would rather keep an eye on Hoseok and watch him than assume things at home and never be able to find out what really happened after he had left. So he stayed, drinking another drink and watching his flirting friend from afar. All he could feel was disappointment. He thought Hoseok was different, that he had some rules and he’s better that all those guys here who’ll decided to flirt with anyything that’s wearing a skirt.
Jimin shifted his stare from Hoseok to his own glass and tried to focus his mind on something else. It took him a few seconds before he realized that there’s a girl sitting right next to him, trying to make a contact with him by repeating “Hey!” over and over again until he looked up on her. She had beautiful green eyes and dark, tanned skin, almost completely covered by a long, black dress. Not really in the style for this kind of night out, but at least it made a good impression on Jimin. He assumed this girl would take time to get to know him instead of trying to take him home as soon as possible.
“I’m Tiana, nice to meet you!” she said cheerfully, showing off her white teeth in a wide smile. “Are you having a good time?”
Oh, Jimin really didn’t know if he should be honest with her and vent or play it cool and act like he was having a time of his life. He didn’t want to seem boring and snobbish, so eventually he chose the second option, responded with the same, friendly smile and shook girl’s hand.
“Jimin, nice to meet you too! And yes, this club seems to be pretty dope, how about you?”
The conversation with Tiana was a real pleasure for him. She was smart, she was funny and she really took time to ask Jimin questions about him and his passions. He was totally enjoying himself, he already forgot about Hoseok and his new friend, he was completely focused on Tiana and her high school stories. She had a lovely smile, the kind of smile that brings people to their knees and make them feel better by itself. She had class and she was really well-spoken, Jimin was wondering what the hell a girl like her would be doing in some cheap club like that. Both of them kept on trying new and exotic drinks, so the amount of alcohol Jimin consumed was getting bigger and bigger...
“Hmmm, so…what do you want to do now?”
Tiana suddenly asked, when they eventually ran out of topics and the silence between them was getting more and more awkward. It took Jimin a few seconds before he noticed girl’s hand caressing his knee, but he didn’t do anything about it. He didn’t mind that at all, suddenly remembering Hoseok and his new girl, and he didn’t feel bad. He sat a bit closer to Tiana and touched her hand “by accident”, giving her a small, mischievous smile.
“Whatever you want to do.”
Jimin replied shortly, looking a bit to the side, trying to catch a glimpse of Hoseok, and all he found was his friend clueless stare glued to Jimin and Tiana. Younger boy couldn’t help but to snort quietly before looking up at Tiana again, suddenly realizing that he had indeed drunk a lot that evening. He could finally feel all that alcohol running through his veins, and he wasn’t really caring about his own behavior at that moment. He didn’t had anything against Tiana leaning closer to him and lying down a soft kiss on his lips. Hers were nice and plump, her lip gloss smelled like strawberries and Jimin could feel her smiling against his lips. He couldn’t help but to smile himself, but instead of that, he pushed his lips again against Tiana’s, connecting their mouths one more time, this time for much longer. Their heads were moving slowly while they were tasting each other, Tiana’s neck were held firmly by Jimin’s hand, just like he didn’t want to let her go anywhere, and they would probably go on and on if only Hoseok didn’t show up. And he wasn’t pleased at all.
“Oh, hyung!” said Jimin, leaning out of his and Tiana’s kiss and gave Hoseok an innocent smile. “ Please, meet my new friend, Tiana.” he added, pointing at the girl with a slight movement of his head. Tiana just smiled in response, extending her hand in Hoseok direction, but he didn’t even look at her, totally ignoring her presence.
“That wasn’t very nice…” Jimin hissed under his breath, giving his hyung a reprimanding stare. If only he was sober, he would be surprised how Hoseok’s face had changed. He was literally pissed off. Not just upset or angry, it really seemed like blood is boiling inside his veins. But he could still somehow keep calm, probably not wanting to make a scene in a public place. Again, he didn’t say a word, he was just looking at Jimin, plotting what would be the best punishment for him in that case.
“Well… I guess I should go home.” Tiana broke the silence, looking a bit embarrassed with her shaking hands trying to find her purse and phone. Her shifty stare was trying to focus on Jimin’s face and totally ignore Hoseok, but his presence just made her heart speed up even more that Jimin had done before. “Are you going with me?” she asked suddenly, taking Jimin’s hand and pulling him a bit in her direction. She forced a sly smile on her face to not look as nervous as she really was, and Jimin’s response made her relax a little bit.
“Sure, I’ll just grab my jac-“
“He’s busy. He won't go with you.”
Both Jimin and Tiana looked at Hoseok. The girl was literally terrified, her face completely pale, all her confidence seemed to disappear in the matter of seconds. She quickly grabbed her bag and left two boys alone, ignoring Jimin and his pleading voice asking her to stay. When he was left with Hoseok only, all he had to say to him was a short “Thanks” before he went to the cloakroom to pick up his jacket. Hoseok didn’t stop Jimin this time, he just followed him instead. They will go back home together either way, they’ll just talk about it at home. Club, street and bus weren’t a good place to solve this kind of things.
Jimin slept over most of the way home, and Hoseok didn’t even mind him resting his head on his shoulder. Yes, he was mad at Jimin, he was really mad, but he also knew that when his dongsaeng was drunk, he wasn’t really using his brain anymore as much as he should. It was hard for Hoseok to watch his friend kissing a girl. Yes, they were just friends, but this feeling, something similar to jealousy, had stung Hoseok right in the heart and told him to stop that as soon as possible. He didn’t want to cock block Jimin, that was not the point, he just couldn’t bear the view of him enjoying himself with that girl.
He looked out of the window to avoid other passenger’s urgent stares. He guessed it had to look very suspicious when he was watching sleeping Jimin so carefully...
__
“I just fucking hate you, that’s it!”
Jimin screamed right in Hoseok’s face, as soon as they entered younger’s apartment. The way home wasn’t the easiest one, mostly because Hoseok had had to basically carry his drunk friend all the way, but that’s not the point. The most important thing was to solve this conflict and, even better, to put Jimin to sleep so Hoseok can leave and go rest himself. But the younger boy seemed to be way more energetic after his short nap at the bus, and he was literally all over Hoseok.
“Why do you hate me, uh?”
Hoseok replied calmly, unzipping Jimin’s jacket, not even worrying about his inept trials to shake hyung’s hands off. Younger boy had that permanent pout on his face now, as always when he’s drunk, looking all innocent and cute, with his so different behavior. Hoseok didn’t understand any of his friend’s weird actions until he screamed the reason right into his face.
“Because of that whore!!!Why didn’t you bring her home with you, huh?!?!?!”
Hosok was totally speechless. He watched Jimin’s face turn bright red and a single tear rolling down his cheek, not understanding a thing. Really? That was a reason? It was so shocking to hear Jimin use that kind of words, but hey, alcohol was doing its job.
“Jimin…” Hoseok started softly, coming up to him a little bit closer and put his hands on younger’s shoulders. “She was my cousin. You met her once before. You really didn’t recognized Kim?”
Jimin’s face went from angry to totally clueless. And Hoseok understand that. His friend was drunk, really drunk, there’s nothing surprising that he didn’t recognized the person he had only seen once in his life. The only thing that Hoseok didn’t understand, was why Jimin was making a big fuss about him talking to a girl. Is it possible that he was jealous? Hoseok couldn’t help but smile with a corner of his lips, but next tears appearing in Jimin’s eyes made him worried all over again.
“Hey, what’s wrong, Jimin?” he asked caringly, wiping off younger boy’s cheeks with his hands, trying to pick up his stare and make eye contact. But Jimin’s eyes were glued to the floor, his shoulders were shaking a bit while his quiet sobbing filled the hallway.
“You’re so bad and… a-and you’re so stupid...”
Hoseok was completely lost at that point, he tried to focus and find a clue in all this mumbling escaping Jimin’s mouth, but all he could do was to wipe off his friend’s tears and try to make him calm down.
“Why am I bad, hm?” Hosoek asked almost with motherly voice, petting Jimin’s cheek and finally meeting his shifty stare. He was crying like a baby and Hoseok was seriously wondering if his cousin was the real reason behind all these tears. “Don’t cry, Jiminnie, shuuu-“
“Because you are!!! You are so bad to me!!!” Jimin scream again, but in the same time dropped right into Hoseok’s arms, lost all the calmness left in him and started crying loudly, filing the room with hurt whines. Hoseok hugged him tightly, giving him a few seconds to sob comfortably as he was wondering about the words he had just heard. Was he really bad for Jimin? He always thought he’s doing his best in taking care of his dongsaeng. He just hoped that it’s all alcohol and not Jimin who’s speaking then.
“Am I really bad to you, Jiminnie?” Hoseok asked with a soft voice, almost whispering, and his younger friend immediately stopped crying. He just tugged himself more into Hoseok’s chest, not letting his hyung look him in the eyes.
“Oyy, Jimin, look at me. Just once, hm?” Hoseok asked again, pulling himself away from the boy, as much as he let him at least, and tried to pick up his stare. Jimin was a mess, a big, drunk, crying mess, and Hoseok’s heart was literally in pieces every time he saw Jimin crying. He cupped younger boy’s face in his hands and lifted it up enough for their eyes to meet, and then sent the most comforting smile he could. Jimin’s face was all wet from tears and his stare was still shifty, but it was still the most beautiful and favourite face to look at for Hoseok. He totally adored this boy, even when he’s calling him names and crying for no apparent reason, he still wanted to make him feel better and make sure he’s totally fine.
“Am I really that bad to you…?” Hoseok repeated his question, more to himself than Jimin, carefully examining his friend’s face before leaning his own a bit closer.
He was drunk, a bit, yes, but not drunk enough to not know what he’s doing. Even Jimin’s eyes, widening and becoming bigger and bigger, didn’t stop Hoseok from resting his lips in the corner of Jimin’s mouth. He laid a soft kiss there, then moved a bit to the side and kissed him again, longer, tasting Jimin’s lips like it should be done. He could feel Jimin’s body tensing up in his embrace, but after a few seconds he let Hoseok do whatever he want to him. He took every peck, every kiss and every tongue movement with quiet moans, his nose was always in the way when Hoseok was trying to crook his head to the other side, his kisses were sloppy and messy, his body was paralyzed and not able to move a single muscle, he felt so bad for being so passive, but…
But the only thing that mattered at that moment was that he was being kissed by the most important person in his life, and that he felt so good and safe in those arms closing him in a tight embrace.
Jimin didn’t care what will happen next. He didn’t care what Hoseok might think about him later, it was all not important.
The only thing that matter was Hoseok’s fast, hoarse breath when he pulled away for a short break and how he smiled to Jimin seeing his surprised expression.
And how he kissed him again.
And how everything was fine again.
Chapter 6: ...didn't know what to do.
Chapter Text
The past week was probably the most awkward moment in Jimin’s life. He was just completely lost, he wasn’t sure of anything in his life, and most importantly, he was scared. After that (un)lucky night when he and Hoseok went clubbing, Jimin felt really bad. During the event he didn’t really mind his friend kissing the life out of him, they were both drunk, and Jimin was even more than that, I can almost call him wasted. Was a kiss itself something bad? No. Was Jimin forced into it? No. What’s more to that, he was dreaming about this moment for weeks, but when it happened… it wasn’t that. It wasn’t the kiss he dreamt of. He wanted to be aware, he wanted to be able to enjoy it fully, to taste Hoseok’s lips and kiss him back, and how he ended doing it? His head was completely blank, his mouth paralyzed and kisses sloppy, but did it feel good at that time? Hell yes it did. And Jimin found that the worst part of the story.
What’s going to happen now? How will it be between him and Hoseok? Will they choose to move on or…?
Jimin sighed deeply once again and took a sip of his already cold tea. He had completely put away coffee. Since the incident he couldn’t sleep that much and he didn’t want to risk a complete insomnia because of coffee. He didn’t looked well, and he didn’t feel any better too, so he decided to take a few days off to rest properly and try to solve this awkward situation. He was just going to leave the kitchen to distract himself a bit and play some video games when his phone beeped. Jimin looked at it suspiciously and quickly opened it. His heart sank when he saw a text message from Hoseok. After a week of complete silence, which was very weird for them both, Jimin was scared to read whatever Hoseok had sent him.
Even a simple message like that already made him nervous. It was awkward, it was so damn awkward, and Jimin had no idea what to reply to him. It seemed like Hoseok just send him an usual message like he always did from time to time, so Jimin decided to go with the flow and tried his best to make his response look casual as well. It seriously felt like texting way back in high school when you ask your friends for advice what to write and which emoticons to use. Jimin couldn’t help but smile to himself when he got reply from his friend almost immediately.
Did he wanted to meet? Yes, of course. They didn’t talk nor meet during the past week, Jimin simply missed Hoseok already and wanted to spend some time with him. What he was afraid of was obviously the situation between them and how they’re going to handle it. Previously, when Jimin had been still dating all those girls, he didn’t really had a problems like that. When situation had been getting bad, Jimin would had just end the relationship, don’t try to solve it or anything. It was probably because none of those girls hadn’t been really close to him like Hoseok, and now, when it was the matter of his and Jimin’s friendship, he was seriously worried. But he finally came to the conclusion that waiting won’t help them anyway, and he should be thankful that Hoseok had already made the first move to improve their situation. Jimin decided to take the opportunity and try to work something out of it. He typed the reply and sent it, not letting go of his phone even for a second while waiting for his friend to text back.
There it is, next problem. Jimin couldn’t help but whine in his own helplessness. He had no idea where they should meet. His or Hoseok apartment seemed to be the worst possible options. They would be alone there, no one else around them to help make the situation less awkward. The best way out would be probably meeting in a café or a bar, somewhere where they can still talk comfortably without making each other nervous. But then Jimin realized that the problem they need to solve is pretty major and it’ll be better to talk in a nice and quiet environment, they don’t know how they’ll react and what can happen. And after their last meeting, Jimin didn’t really know what to expect.
Done. It’s done, no way back. Hoseok is coming over and they need to talk. Jimin put away his phone and sighed deeply, shaking off last traces of tension. He felt like he’s going to had a headache from thinking so much and you could easily see that written on his face, pale and not healthy-looking at all. He decided to take a quick shower before Hoseok comes and try his best to look like nothing really happened.
And even though the upcoming meeting made his really nervous, he couldn’t stop the warmness filling up his body just by the thought of seeing Hoseok again.
____________________
Oh dear, it was awkward.
Both Jimin and Hoseok were sitting in the living room, in complete silence, very busy on their phones. They had been like that for a good 15 minutes, and Jimin was seriously feeling like he’s going to die. The only conversation they had had was about the weather and what Hoseok would like to drink. And after that, there was just silence.
You can’t even imagine how unbearable it was. Them, most talkative and energetic people, sitting next to each other and not even exchanging a single stare. Jimin’s excitement disappeared already, all he felt now was an urge to run away and never come back. But then, in this damn silent room, Jimin suddenly heard a quiet giggle. He looked to his right on Hoseok, just to see his friend laughing under his breath while watching something on his screen. His face looked relaxed again, his usual sunshine smile on his mouth, eyes barely visible, that's how much he was laughing. Jimin leaned in his direction a bit, trying to peek onto his friend’s screen, but he seriously couldn’t see anything. Finally Hoseok noticed him and pulled him a bit closer so he could comfortably see his phone.
“You have to see this video!” he said with shaky voice, trying his best to control his laughter so he could speak. He played the video again and laughed, almost instantly, even though nothing funny happened yet. Jimin’s eyes seemed to be glued to the screen as well, but he didn’t really cared about the video. He felt the tension escape his body and it was all thanks to Hoseok. It was normal again. Jimin laughed when Hoseok did, sending him amused stares from time to time and enjoying the view and sound of his friend’s laugh. They watched few more funny videos, pointing out the best moments and reading comments together. After few minutes they calmed down a bit, the room became quiet again, and both men came back to reality. They didn’t talk for a few minutes already, and none of them looked like they’re willing to start a conversation. Hoseok had put his phone away and was now watching Oliver sleeping in the corner of the room, while Jimin was pressed against Hoseok’s side, sitting so close to him it was already uncomfortable.
Suddenly Hoseok moved a bit, turning around to face Jimin more, and leaned forward to meet his eyes. He opened his mouth and immediately closed it, dropping his stare for a few seconds, and then looked at Jimin again. His eyes were bright and sparkly, his mouth curved into relaxed smile.
“I missed you, Jiminnie.”
Jimin felt like someone had just poured a boiling hot water onto him. He felt like he had been hit by a heatwave, he inhaled deeply and looked at Hoseok, but had to drop his stare, not being able to look his friend in the eyes. He swallowed with difficulty and tried to come up with something appropriate to say, but he just couldn’t force his mouth to open. He tried to hide his already shaking hands but he failed miserably as he didn’t even had sleeves long enough to do that.
“I missed you too.”
It was all Jimin was able to say back, and even that cost him a few seconds to come up with and tons of courage. He still didn’t looked at Hoseok, but he could feel his stare burning his skin and making his cheeks more and more red. Jimin had never been so nervous before, his head was empty and lips dry, and even licking them every five seconds wasn’t helping.
Hoseok adjusted himself again and moved closer to Jimin, even though it seemed to be impossible. He sighed deeply and spoke up again, placing his hand on Jimin’s knee, making him almost scream in panic.
“Then why didn’t you call me?”
Jimin felt the chills running down his spine by the sound of Hoseok’s voice. It sounded so cold and accusing it made Jimin feel guilty. He needed space to think, he felt like suffocating when Hoseok was so close, so he distanced himself from his hyung a bit and even send him a short stare, shaking off his hand.
“I don’t know. You didn’t call as well, so that’s fair.”
He was really proud of himself, he didn’t think he would be able to talk at all, but there he was, talking back almost comfortably. Okay, he was very far from being comfortable, but running away from Hoseok’s proximity helped him a bit to pick up the courage. Hoseok was making him weak and helpless, and now he had to be strong and confident. Well, that was a plan at least..
“Jiminnie.”
Oh god, please don’t call me that, thought Jimin, looking up at his friend. And it was his biggest mistakes, it was the moment when he realized his defeat. Hoseok was staring at him with such an adoration that Jimin felt second heatwave hitting him. Hoseok was literally undressing him from all of his confidence, taking away his courage and everything left in his head.
“Did you really miss me?”
That question was like a slap for Jimin, but it didn’t wake him up, it just made him more dizzy and lost. He was watching Hoseok’s face blankly, examining his bright eyes and delicate lips, following his body when he moved closer again, not taking eyes off Hoseok’s hand caressing his knee again.
“Jimin, answer me.”
He managed to look up at his hyung and nod, not even trying to open his mouth and talk. The next thing he saw was a sunny smile blooming on Hoseok’s face and how his loud sigh of relief filled the room.
“You’re so stupid, Jiminnie.”
Hoseok laughed loud, moving his hand from Jimin’s knee to his cheek, caressing it delicately, trying to lock eyes with his dongsaeng. But Jimin’s eyes seemed to be locked on Hoseok’s smile, his face blank and pure red from embarrassment, his lips not being able to stay closed. The older boy finally gave up talking and pulled Jimin in for a loose, warm embrace. Jimin’s body felt so stiff and heavy to hug that Hoseok couldn’t stop but giggle. He clearly didn’t expect his friend to react this way. The feeling of his small hands nervously clenching his shirt was totally disarming, and Hoseok was actually glad that Jimin couldn’t see his face right now. After a few seconds he buried his face in Jimin’s hair and spoke up softly.
“Hey, why are you so awkward, hm?”
Jimin tensed up even more, and even though he felt the need to escape this feeling and this embrace, he stayed there, feeling safer when Hoseok couldn’t see his face. His hands were shaking now, making it unable to rest them properly on his hyung’s back, and eyes were already shinning with tears. He didn’t want to cry, he should be happy that it’s like this, that Hoseok took this problem in his own hands and made it all easier for Jimin, but he was … He was just so, so lost.
“Because I don’t know what to do, hyung…”
He whispered in response, pressing his face against Hoseok’s shoulder. He felt the tears coming and he managed to stop them, but he couldn’t stop his voice from shaking. Hoseok’s breath on his skin was like a blessing, and feeling of his arms around him made him feel safe, and after a few seconds Jimin felt a bit better.
“Oh, stupid, just hug me.”
And Jimin did hug him, even though it was weird and uncomfortable while doing it on the couch and sitting next to each to other. He just wanted to feel Hoseok’s chest pressed against his own, his breath ghosting over his skin and laugh tickling his ear. After a few seconds Jimin pulled away for a bit, just to squeeze his head between both of them and meet Hoseok’s eyes, all smiley and half-closed. Jimin softly poked his hyung’s nose with his own, causing next giggle outbreak to happen, and his own cheeks bloomed with read all over again.
“You are so stupid, Jimin.”
Hoseok whispered softly, pressing his forehead against Jimin’s. Their eyes remained locked and it didn’t feel so awkward anymore, their arms embracing each other tightly and lips curved in relaxed smiles.
“No-o, you are stupid. You should have called me, I was worried…”
“Oh shush!”
Hoseok quickly cut Jimin off and planted a quick peck in the corner of his lips.
“Kiss me.”
Jimin was hit by a third heatwave this afternoon, but it didn’t matter anymore. His sweaty hands, his red cheeks and butterflies dancing in his stomach – it was all nothing.
Jimin just smiled in response and kissed Hoseok softly. He barely touched his lips, but he could feel Hoseok hold his breath already, his hands tightening around Jimin’s waist. So he kissed him again, pressing their lips together harder, not being ashamed of the small moan that escaped his mouth. He wanted to taste him, to remember the shape of his lips and their texture, he wanted to feel his hands on his back, his sweet scent filling his nose and feel Hoseok’s tongue on his lips, licking off every last piece of shame and fear. He wanted Hoseok to show him everything and give him everything, to take his breath away.
Hoseok smelled like citruses and his tongue tasted like heaven. He made Jimin’s head spin around and lose the sense of time, he made his muscular body tremble like fragile flower and heat up with excitement.
Jimin was full of Hoseok and he was the only thing that matter at that moment.
“Hyung…?”
Jimin whispered with trembling voice, parting their lips and resting his face in the crook between Hoseok’s neck and shoulder. His face felt like burning and lips felt numb, but he never felt better. Hoseok didn’t even reply to him, he just mutter something under his breath and buried his face in Jimin’s hair again.
“What’s going to happen now?”
Jimin couldn’t see Hoseok’s face but he could surely feel him smiling. When he moved away from their warm embrace, Jimin suddenly felt really cold an empty, and he almost wanted to jump back into a hug, but Hoseok quickly stood up and headed to the kitchen.
“Now? I’m going to make you some dinner!”
Jimin watched his hyung leaving with a weird feeling inside his stomach, like a mixture of all those crazy butterflies and a bonfire, making him feel cozy and safe just by looking at Hoseok. He was still a bit overwhelmed by what just happened, but surely Hoseok’s voice brought him back on earth.
“WHY IS YOUR FRIDGE EMPTY AGAIN?!”
Jimin just smiled to himself, because if Hoseok was going to kill him now, at least he’s going to die happy.
