   Summary

   The late 1980s were worrying times, as people suddenly gained abilities formerly reserved to the furthest edges of science fiction. It was only in '88 that the world got enough of a grip to attempt to find an explanation for the source of parahuman abilities. What they found was trigger events: people, when placed under great amounts of physical or mental duress, could gain immense amounts of power.

   And there is no source of physical and mental duress quite like organized college sports.
