Chapter 1: Chance Encounter
Chapter Text
"Don't you think this is a bit too much?" The question hung in the air between the two men as they surveyed their handiwork. Three straight days of solid work resulted in a finished suite. Buttercup yellow walls were brushed with soft white clouds and sky-blue birds. Plush, soft carpeting covered the floor while bright, billowy drapes graced the wide windows flanking the outer wall.
"Nothing is too much for our sweet girl." The younger smiled, his teeth an even white expanse as he moved to sit in the rocking chair placed in the far corner near the crib. "In less than twenty-four hours we'll be rocking her to sleep in this chair." Red hair flopped over his forehead as his lengthy legs pushed against the carpeting to set the chair in motion.
"That is not an answer to my question, Hoseok." Yoongi's voice held nothing but affection for his boyfriend as he moved to inspect the dresser positioned next to the changing table, pulling out drawers and running his fingers over the soft pastel-hued clothing folded neatly inside.
"Aish, you're just as excited to bring her home as I am." Hoseok replied, his head leaned back against the back of the rocking chair. His eyes were only half open, his expression lax as he took a moment to daydream about the little princess they would soon be bringing into their lives.
"We need to leave for the airport soon." The elder prodded gently. Their bags were packed, sat by the door waiting for the couple to leave for their trip.
"Can't you just enjoy this moment? The anticipation?" Long fingers curled over the armrests on the rocking chair as Hoseok moved to push himself into an upright position, only to cross the room and stand in front of his boyfriend. "This is the last moment we'll be here, alone, waiting for our precious little girl."
Yoongi let out a soft, appreciative sigh as his partner's palms cupped his cheeks. He leaned closer, enjoying their closeness. These small, intimate moments never failed to fill him with a quiet warmth that always lingered.
"I am more than happy to appreciate this with you, but if we don't leave right now we will miss our flight and then our precious little darling will be all alone on her trip."
"What are you waiting for, you fool? It's time to go!" The speed with which Hoseok withdrew his embrace was only rivaled by that of olympic sprinters as the younger man gripped the handle of his suitcase and bolted for the door, leaving his boyfriend to follow chuckling behind him.
-------
While the flight itself had been uneventful, the young couple found themselves closeted away in their hotel room huddled over a shared laptop. Both had their phones out as well, one scrolling through instagram while the other quickly read through any missed messages.
"Should we be worried?" Hoseok asked, voice clearly strained as Yoongi shifted his gaze away from his phone toward his boyfriend. The elder rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"Remember the time difference." The phone in Yoongi's hands found its way to the nightstand, while his hands slid around Hoseok's waist in a comforting embrace. "It won't be long now, why don't you get some rest?"
"I can't, I'm too excited. She'll be here soon, won't she?"
"Did you remember to bring everything?" This question resulted in a scornful snort from Hoseok's side of the bed as the two stared at each other.
"Of course I did, what sort of parent would I be if I left anything to chance?" Yoongi simply gave his partner a nod, then went back to strolling through his feed. They let the time pass quietly in this fashion, jet lag and fatigue threatening to set in until they heard a persistent knock on their door.
"Housekeeping!"
"Hyung!" Hoseok whispered, his eyes impossibly wide as he nearly fell off the bed. Yoongi could only roll his eyes as another series of raps rattled against the door.
"Housekeeping!"
This time Hoseok really did fall off the bed, landing on the hard floor of the hotel room with a solid thump just as whoever was in the hallway called out a cheerful "coming in!" right before the door swung open. Time stood still as Yoongi's eyes locked with the intruding housekeeper's. His expression was slack, dazed even while hers was caught up with surprise and regret.
"Ah, sorry!" The young woman hastily began to speak, her embarrassment all too obvious as she ducked her head and began to back her way out of the room. Yoongi had to rush in order to keep her from leaving altogether, his hands outstretched as he shook his head.
"No, wait!" He spoke a little too loudly, which caught the woman by surprise. "I mean, did you need something? From the room, I mean?" His English wasn't too terrible, though he bore an obvious accent as he spoke.
"Oh, right! Did you need any service for your room? Towels, trash? Soap?" The woman's voice trailed off as she looked away from him, and back to her cart as if searching for the very same items she listed. He took another step forward, easily within arm's reach of her now.
"Towels would be great." He spoke calmly now as he watched the housekeeper twist and turn toward the cart standing in the hallway so she could collect a stack of linens.
"Okay! I just need to collect your used towels and I'll get out of your way!" She seemed cheerful, her smile warm and friendly as she inched her way toward the bathroom to do just what she suggested. Meanwhile, Yoongi flicked his gaze toward his boyfriend with an expression laden with intent. The younger moved quickly, pushing himself up from the floor as he practically vibrated with nervous energy.
Towels slid across the floor toward the door as Yoongi watched the young woman once more. Her hair fell across her forehead as she crouched to stack the items neatly on the shelf beneath the sink. She seemed focused on her task, so it was easy enoughf or Hoseok to slip into the bathroom silently and wrap one arm around the woman's waist and arms while his free hand brought a cloth up to her mouth and nose.
This experience was...unsavory, to say the least. Neither man appreciated the thought of harming anyone, but this was necessary. Fortunately, Yoongi realized, no one else was in the hallway as he moved to push the cart further along to another room before coming back and shutting their door. He watched silently, a frown pulling at his lips and a furrow in his brow as the woman's eyes stayed wide, her hands pulling ineffectually at Hoseok's stronger grip.
Her efforts slowly grew limp, losing energy as her eyes eventually shut. She was pliant in Hoseok's hold now, breathing evenly. Both men let out a sigh of relief that no one had heard her muffled cries or seen what transpired in the past few moments.
Both Hoseok and Yoongi were swift, and silent in their ministrations now. Hoseok settled the woman down on the bed, making sure her head was resting on the pillow while Yoongi measured out the proper dosage for the sedative he had managed to smuggle through the many security checks at the airport. He took a moment, making sure he found a vein before pushing down on the plunger. They waited just a bit longer, then let out a collective sigh of relief.
"I'll go check out, make sure no one sees you carry her out to the car, okay?" Yoongi reached forward, his fingers brushing the woman's hair back and away from her forehead as Hoseok trailed his palm along the length of her arm.
"It's finally happening, hyung. I'm so happy for her...For us." Yoongi allowed himself to smile, then simply shifted and leaned forward to press a soft and gentle kiss to his boyfriend's lips.
"We need to hurry, we're criminals now." At this Hoseok let out a peel of laughter, then moved to pick their princess up and settle her in his arms.
"I'll see you outside hyung, though I wish we could change her clothes now." He sounded remorseful, as if he were being negligent. Yoongi patted his shoulder, then nodded slowly.
"You know it will have to wait unti we get home, it won't be too long now. Go on." The two left the room, Hoseok carrying the woman and Yoongi carrying their bags as they went in opposite directions. One to the car with the most precious of cargo, and the other to the front desk with mostly empty suitcases.
Chapter 2: Big Time Tantrum
Summary:
Hoseok and Yoongi spend their first evening with their little. Things are a bit more dramatic and eventful than they had anticipated.
Notes:
As always, none of this is particularly beta read. I don't have patience for that. Any and all typos/mistakes are mine and I should be pretty proud of them.
Thank you for reading so far and thank you for the kudos! I was worried this wouldn't be interesting!

Exhaustion weighed down heavily on both Yoongi and Hoseok as their flight finally touched down. Their princess had been asleep for most of it, though they did have to wake her up long enough to get her to shuffle through the security checks. The sedative was strong enough that even once her eyes were open, she could only blink dully as she was led through the line. It had taken every ounce of willpower Hobi had to keep himself from cooing over the way she dazedly stared first at him, and then at his boyfriend, and finally at the security guard directing her to take off her shoes.
"Time to go through the line pumpkin." Yoongi couldn't help himself as he crouched down to untie the laces to her shoes. Hoseok's hands were steady, supporting her weight as she nodded slowly in response to the older man's words. Yoongi pushed at her foot until she lifted it, and then they repeated the same with the other.
"Good girl, behaving so well for Daddy and Appa before we get on the plane." Hoseok whispered as her weight rested almost completely against his chest. Her shoes were held between Yoongi's fingers as she shuffled through first the line, and then the lengthy process of security checks.
There was a collective sigh of relief once the newly formed family was settled in their seats, Hoseok cradling their little against his chest while Yoongi sat directly behind them. She fell asleep almost as quickly as she sat down, the drugs still working their way through her system. The two men had brought enough to carry her all the way through customs, even though the thought of keeping her under for so long seemed dangerous. As it was, there were no better options. They were only able to rush her through the system because they had friends who recognized them, and weren't willing to delve too deeply into the information presented to them.
"I can't believe it was this easy." Yoongi let out a dark chuckle, his eyes flat as he gathered their bags from the car. He wanted to bring their princess inside, but Hoseok hadn't let go of her since she came into the hotel room. He understood why the younger man was so attached already, but that didn't make the envious feeling pitted deep in his chest ease even in the slightest. The two of them had spent the better part of a year and a half watching over their little girl through a text app meant for language exchange.
Of course, Hoseok spent more time talking to her than he did, but that was only natural as the younger was more outgoing, less introverted. They had learned everything they knew about her thanks to that little app and one shared account. Her favorite color was yellow, she didn't like pork, her friends all lived out of state, and she spent most of her time working or taking classes to try and finish her music degree. That was the day Yoongi had -really- decided she was the perfect little girl for them.
He was already imagining the time they could spend together, playing piano and making music together. Logically both men understood that she couldn't be in little space all the time, there would have to be moments where she wasn't their -little- girl. Regardless, it was impossible for Yoongi to keep himself from daydreaming about her dainty fingers plunking childishly at the keys as he led her through any simple melody.
"She's waking up, it's about time too." His boyfriend's words pulled the older man from his own thoughts abruptly, putting a stop to any wild fantasies for now. Their princess needed their undivided attention, no matter how tired they were from jet lag and two seemingly endless flights almost back to back.
"Let's bring her into the nursery." Yoongi murmured, pausing mid-step so he could run his fingers through the soft length of her hair. She stirred, a furrow in her brow even as Hobi nuzzled his nose against her cheek. "We should get her changed into something more appropriate."
"Why not put her in that romper set with the elephants on it?" Hoseok made the suggestion as he laid their little girl down on the changing table, her limbs splayed and dangling as her eyelids fluttered repeatedly. Yoongi's actions matched his boyfriend's suggestion, his hands sorting through the various sweaters, pajama sets, onesies, and coveralls until he found the exact outfit desired. By the time he came back over to the table their little girl was squirming listlessly while her parents made short work of shedding the dreadfully plain and scratchy workclothes.
"Daddy and Appa are going to get you comfy and cozy, then we'll make sure you have something good to eat." Hoseok cooed, smiling widely as he purposefully avoided looking anywhere on her body more than was necessary. While he hesitated, Yoongi had no such qualms as he maneuvered the pliant little's limbs about in order to not only strip her, but strap on the bulky and absorbent diaper she would eventually need.
It was a good thing they had finished this task so quickly. Their little girl was waking up fast and already she was whining, her eyes blinking wide as she took in first her surroundings, and then the two men before her. Yoongi's gaze was piercing, shrewd as he watched her expression flit first from bewildered confusion, to shock, and then to fearful anger as she opened her mouth to draw in a deep breath. He moved swiftly, pulling a pacifier from his pocket and shoving it in her mouth with a little more force than he had planned.
She struggled, an indignant squeal escaping her lips as her hands flew up toward her face in an attempt to dislodge the rubber nub from her mouth. Luckily for the new parents, they had anticipated her rough start to this new life and had made sure to purchase a few pacifiers with straps attached. Yoongi was determined, and refused to let the little spit the comfort item out as he made sure the fit was snug, but not too tight before he clasped and locked it in place.
Hoseok's heart stopped as he watched his boyfriend and little girl seem to be so at odds. While he knew their little princess was fiercely independent, he wanted to take all of her pain, her fear, and worries away. He wished it were so simple, but instead he could only stand there in silent dread as he watched their precious little begin to breathe heavily as tears began to course slowly down her soft cheeks.
"Shhh, don't worry baby. Daddy and Appa are here for you. See how you're safe and warm? Did you have a nice nap?" Yoongi nudged Hoseok, hoping to push his partner into motion now that the hardest parts of their first day were hopefully over. Both men desperately needed some sleep, but he wanted to make sure their pumpkin was fed and settled in nicely before either one took a rest.
"Daddy's right!" Hoseok cooed, lunging forward to grip their new little beneath her armpits and lift her up so he could hold her against his chest. One arm moved to support her weight beneath her bottom while his other hand stroked her hair and pressed her head down onto his shoulder. Yoongi caught the grimace on Hoseok's face as the younger man felt -and- heard the girl's sobs against his chest. They had anticipated this, but nothing could prepare them for the heartbreak of seeing her in so much pain.
"We're sure you have lots of questions, and you're probably so very scared right now." Hoseok continued, bouncing her in his arms as he turned and began to make his way over toward the chair in the corner of the room. "You don't need to be scared, princess. Daddy and Appa are here and we won't leave you. You don't have to worry about anything anymore."
His words seemed to have the opposite effect than what he intended as the little renewed her struggles. She squirmed and flailed, her movements uncoordinated due to the dregs of sedative that sluggishly burned out of her system. Her wails were muffled by the pacifier, and Yoongi could only watch and hope desperately that she would at least try and suck on the soother.
"C'mon pumpkin, Daddy knows you've had a long day but we just want to take care of you." The elder moved forward, settling into a crouch by the side of the rocking chair as Hoseok gently set the mechanism into motion so he could rock their little back and forth. Yoongi's hand settled against her back, rubbing soothing circles in an attempt to get her to quiet down.
For one blissful moment the new caregivers almost believed she would be able to calm down. The hiccuping sobs and muffled wails began to subside, her movements settling into stillness. Both men relaxed slowly, tentative smiles pulling at their lips as their little drew in a long, stuttering breath through her flaring nose.
"There you g-" Hoseok had spoken too soon, let his guard down too quickly. For all the sedatives they had given their new little, she was still determined to break free of his hold. Her hands flew upwards, smacking at his face while his eyes opened wide in surprise. She renewed her struggle, her body squirming while she pushed and -pushed- to get away from him. He let out a choked little gasp as her finger managed to push against his eye, making his vision blur while starbursts fizzled through his vision.
Everything happened at once, moving in what would appear to be slow motion for Yoongi as he watched his boyfriend release his grip on their little, raising his hands to cover his eye. Their new charge fell to the nursery floor with a resounding thud, then began to huff and let out a series of grunts as she first attempted to stand, and then simply started to push herself to crawl. He wasn't sure who to manage first, his injured boyfriend or his dropped little. Synapses fired, but the thoughts simply didn't carry as the elder of the two men crouched, hesitation and indecision visible in his expression.
"Hyung!" Hoseok's voice startled the older man as he gestured toward the fallen girl. Yoongi darted forward then, his gaze piercing as he fixed it upon the wayward little. While he had been dithering, their little love had gotten halfway toward the door. If it weren't for the fit she'd just thrown, he would be proud of how she was so stubborn and determined. Both were good qualities in his opinion, but not when those traits resulted in a wounded boyfriend and exhausted little.
The girl's wails were abrupt, broken by shuddering breaths as Yoongi bent down to scoop her up and bring her back into the room properly. She kicked, weak as the movement was. He held firm, clamping both arms around her body once he realized she wouldn't do anything to help hold herself up in his grip.
"You're not doing yourself any favors, little girl." While neither of them had expected to have to discipline her so quickly, and so soon, Yoongi was a firm believer in consistency. If he didn't start giving their princess the right boundaries, she wouldn't be able to fully regress. "If you can't calm yourself down I'll put you in time out. If that doesn't help you we'll have to leave your pacifier on until you can behave. Understand?"
He had pulled back from gripping her so tightly, just enough so that he could shift his gaze toward her upturned face. She seemed livid, her cheeks heated and her eyes wide as she took breath after breath through her nose.
"Was that so hard?" Yoongi moved to set her down in the crib, only moving to stroke her hair once he was sure she wouldn't try to escape again. "Now, stay still while Daddy makes sure Appa is okay, alright?" The girl's narrowed gaze didn't signify anything, but he took it as compliance as he turned to look toward his boyfriend.
"It's a good thing we both took time off work for this." Hoseok chuckled, letting his hand drop away from his face to reveal a blossoming bruise that marred the upper portion of his cheek and corner of his eye. "Our babygirl is strong!" Yoongi shook his head in equal parts disbelief and admiration for the younger man's ability to be so positive regardless of the situation.
"Okay, if you promise you'll be a good girl and listen, Daddy will take your pacifier off." Yoongi returned to the crib, his expression stern as he waited for any indication of acquiesence or rebellion. He could feel the tension slip away from his shoulders as their little girl gave a stiff nod. His fingers made quick work of the latch on her pacifier. No sooner did the clasp release than she spat the offending item from her lips.
"What the actual fresh fu-"
"Woah! Language!" Hoseok was quick to interrupt before that sentence could be finished. He knew their sunshine was innocent, she just had to remember that too.
"Oh, excuse me...WHAT THE ACTUAL FRESH FUCK?!" Yoongi and Hoseok both found themselves staring at an enraged little, her fingers clennched around the bars of her crib so tightly her knuckles had lightened in color. "ARE YOU INSANE?"
"Language!" Yoongi growled, his patience finally wearing thin. "What did Daddy say about behaving?"
"Are you shitting me right now? What the hell do you think you're doing? What am I even wearing?" The string of questions was expected, at least for Yoongi. He hadn't asked Hoseok what he imagined their first night with their little would be like. What the elder didn't expect, was to feel a deep pang in his chest as he heard just how strained and cracked their little girl's voice would be.
"I can always put your pacifier back on, princess. BEHAVE."
"Try it, freak. I'll kick you so hard in the balls you'll be singing falsetto in the choir."
"Baby, you need to calm down. Daddy and Appa-" Hoseok had been creeping closer, trying to diffuse the situation with his hands held outward, but when their new little growled he forced himself to stop in his tracks.
"As we've already said, you're tired, princess. While you've had a long day, that's no excuse for your behavior." Yoongi let out an exhausted sigh as he came forward, ignoring the very same sound that had convinced his boyfriend to stop and step back. "We don't hit people when we're not happy, pumpkin. That's bad manners."
"We don't abduct people from hotel rooms either, that's -also- bad manners." The girl scoffed, leaving Yoongi with a clearly unimpressed expression on his face.
"Don't talk back to Daddy, pumpkin. I'm going to spank you, and when we're done you can tell me what you did wrong. Understand?" He wasted no time, his grip firm on the unrepentant little even as she let loose a string of profanities and threats that deserved their own set of spankings.
"Now, be a good girl and listen to Daddy." Yoongi took over the unoccupied rocking chair, then managed to position her over his lap even as she squirmed and kicked. His gaze flicked over toward Hobi, who took it upon himself to cross the room and help hold their little down over her Daddy's lap.
"This is for your own good, kitten." Yoongi quickly unsnapped the buttons on her onesie, then tugged at the diaper until her ass was bare to the cold air in the room. While the elder did enjoy quite a few kinky things in the bedroom, he didn't relish the thought of having to punish his little, and he very much disliked the thought of marking her skin.
"Daddy is going to spank you because you hurt Appa, and you didn't listen to Daddy when he told you to behave, do you understand baby?" His hand came down with a stinging slap against the swell of her backside when she didn't immediately answer in any way.
"Go eat a back of dicks you-" He slapped her ass again, frowning now as Hoseok's grip on her legs tightened. If their little kept fighting and squirming she was likely to fall off his lap and hurt herself. Best to get on with it then.
"Appa will count for you this time, but after that you'll be expected to count for yourself when you have to be punished." Hoseok admonished, nodding for Yoongi to continue.
"One." The sound of Yoongi's palm smacking against their little's flesh rang out, interspersed with Hoseok's counting as well as pained grunts from the wriggling bundle in the elder's lap. In the end, the two caregivers agreed that fifteen was high enough for her first punishment. Her diaper was pulled back up and her clothing buttoned together once more before Yoongi shifted her into a seated position, her legs dangling on either side of his lap.
"Do you remember why Daddy had to punish you?" Hoseok asked softly, reaching forward to smooth his thumbs across her wet cheeks while Yoongi began to rub soothing circles over her back just like he had before. She flinched away from their touches at first, but it quickly became clear to both men that her tantrum and subsequent rebellion had worn her out.
"I remember why -you- think it's okay to physically assault me." Hoseok frowned, though Yoongi couldn't tell whether he frowned over what their little girl said, or over the drained and tired sound of her voice as she said it.
"Do you need Daddy to spank you again already?"
"I..." Yoongi could feel her body tense in his arms, though he never stopped trying to soothe and comfort her. "I didn't l-listen to you, and I hurt abductor two."
"Appa, baby, call me Appa." Hoseok frowned further, disliking the obvious distrust his little showed him.
"Shh, It's okay pumpkin, you did so well tonight. Daddy is proud of you, that was a lot of progress for you." Yoongi cooed, hoping to help her relax as he gazed up at his boyfriend, hopefully convincing the younger man to leave well enough alone for now. "Why don't we get you something to eat before we put you down for a nap?"
"If I say no...Are you going to hit me again?" While the words should have sounded fearful, they simply sounded calculating to Yoongi's ears. He sat back in the chair, making sure that he made eye contact with their little before he spoke.
"Daddy and Appa will never punish you when you don't need it. Daddy and Appa only want to love and cherish you, to take care of you. We will always -always- tell you why you are being punished, and be here to comfort you." This didn't seem to satisfy the girl, a pout forming on her lips as a furrow etched itself into her brow. She looked so cute that Yoongi didn't bother to stop himself when he leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead.
"I'll go make your bottle baby." Hoseok's voice cut into the moment, reminding Yoongi that they needed to get their babygirl fed.
"Wait, bottle?!"
