A Deal with the Demon

Summary:

It was simple. The demon would get Jimin’s soul if he helped him live out his long and happy life with the man of his dreams.

But the deal isn’t as smooth as the demon thought it would be since it wasn’t specific who this ‘man’ was going to be.

Notes:

Hi there!

This is my very first ao3 fic and I really hope you'll enjoy it :)

Chapter 1: A Deal with the Demon

Chapter Text

A deal should always benefit both sides. Especially when you’re striking one with a demon. He knows this. He also knows that once he does this, there’s no going back.

“To what do I owe this pleasure, Park Jimin?”

Jimin was shocked at the figure in front of him. He never imagined having to look at him with such a scheming expression.

The figure laughs when Jimin didn’t answer. “Doesn’t matter. I know what you need,” he simply says with a shrug.

Jimin gulps, unsure of what to say.

“You want the person you love to love you back,” the figure says, as if reading from a book.

Jimin nods and the figure mimics his movement. He walks over to Jimin’s full body mirror and looks at himself from head to toe.

“Hmm, so this is the person you like. Not bad-looking I must say,” the demon in the form of Jimin’s crush says.

The idea that he had summoned a demon finally wraps itself around Jimin’s mind when the figure leans over to look straight into Jimin’s eyes, “You’re not so bad-looking yourself.” Those were the words Jimin could only dream Hoseok would say to him. And this sly-looking thing was not the Hoseok he liked.

“I’ve been here for some time now and you haven’t uttered a word. Say something,” the Hoseok-looking demon presses.

Jimin didn’t exactly know how to converse with people, let alone a demon. No books could teach him that. It took a few more seconds of awkward silence before he finally asks, “What do you need in exchange for your help?”

“Straight to the point, I see... Well Jimin,” the demon places his ice cold hand on Jimin’s face, “a demon is out for your soul, of course.”

Jimin flinches at the cold sensation on his cheek and the demon immediately lets go. “But don’t worry, I’ll wait till you die to take it. Although it would be better if I got to take a younger soul. An old one is complicated with everything it experienced during its lifetime. Messy,” the demon commented. Jimin shivers at the way he was describing the topic of taking souls as if they were food.

“O-Okay. How should we seal the deal?” Jimin notes the distinct difference between the Hoseok in front of him and the one he likes. The real Hoseok’s smile warmed Jimin’s heart. The demon’s only gave Jimin the chills.

Demon Hoseok brings his index finger up to point at his own lips. Jimin’s eyes widens at this.

“We have to kiss?”

At this, the demon laughs, “You’re so innocent for someone who just summoned a demon. It’s cute.”

The comment made Jimin blush, but he reasons that it was due to it sounding like it was coming from his crush.

The demon lifts Jimin’s chin up to look at him again. “Shall we seal the deal?” He glanced down at Jimin’s plump lips.

It’s Jimin’s first kiss, the big moment he reserved only for when he was with the person he loved. And yet he was going to kiss a fake.

He decides that this kiss wasn’t going to count since technically he wasn’t kissing someone human. He shuts his eyes and nods, waiting for the kiss.

Jimin feels a pair of warm lips over his, which he found was weird, since the contact with the demon earlier left him shivering from the cold feeling. He opens his eyes to see Hoseok in front of him.

Being overwhelmed by the entire situation, Jimin pushes the demon off of him, sending the demon stumbling back. This action left himself shocked as he flails his hands out in front of him. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to do that! I was just-”

The demon chuckles at Jimin’s outburst, holding a hand out to stop him.

“It’s okay, little virgin.”

Jimin’s face burns red. He hides his face in his hands, hoping the demon didn’t see his tomato-coloured face.

“Now that that’s settled. Tell me, Jimin. What got you so desperate that you had to resort to the supernatural?” The demon asks, pulling Jimin’s hands away from his face and observing his facial expressions, as if he could read Jimin’s mind by doing so.

Jimin’s gaze shot down to his feet, and he starts to wring the fabric of his pants with his fingers.

“Forget I asked. I was just curious. You don’t have to answer that question.”

When Jimin looks up, he is met with a smile that was surprisingly warm, to the point where he almost forgets that the Hoseok in front of him is a demon.

“Our deal will be ongoing till Hoseok confesses to you. And after that, your soul will be mine. Hopefully, nothing unfortunate happens to you that will cause you to die prematurely,” the demon muses, but one could tell he didn’t really mean what he said.

Jimin could feel himself getting tensed again. This demon could get Hoseok to fall for Jimin in probably a couple of days, something Jimin had been trying to achieve for years. What could stop him from killing Jimin off a few days after to take his soul earlier? And it’s not like he hadn’t talked about his fondness for younger souls earlier.

With such a scary thought, Jimin reminds himself to never cross the demon.

“Thank you.” Jimin fumbles with his fingers, not knowing what he should be saying or even doing in front of a demon staring down at him.

The demon laughs, causing Jimin to look up at him. “Wow that’s a first. Kid, you just sold your soul and you’re thanking the demon who’s taking it?”

Jimin wasn’t too comfortable with the demon’s choice of words. “I’d prefer the term ‘trade’,” he says, folding his arms, “and since I’m getting what I want too, I should obviously thank you.”

The demon pats him on the back. “You’re an interesting one.”

And that was how Jimin made a deal with a demon.

~~~
Jimin didn’t know he was going to see the demon the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night before bed.
“What? I’m bored, and you don’t do anything at home either so you must be bored too. I just thought we should make the best of this deal by entertaining each other,” the demon had said.
He was now lying in his bed, staring up at the ceiling. Knowing that the demon might have been watching him the whole time has caused him to spend sleepless nights, being extremely creeped out.
Jimin feels himself starting to lose focus when he hears a faint click outside his room.
It couldn’t be the demon. He didn’t need to open any doors to get into the house. He’d just appear  out of nowhere and scare the crap out of Jimin.
Someone had broken in.
Jimin slowly lifts the covers off of himself and slips out of his bed. He carefully walks over to his shelf and picks up one of his trophies. He then went over to the door of his room which he had left ajar. He peeks through the gap and sees the back of someone rummaging through his drawers.
He didn’t know why, but the person senses Jimin and suddenly turns around, surprising Jimin who then slams the door shut.
The door shook on impact. The burglar was forcefully kicking at the door. Jimin presses himself firmly against the door, trying to keep the burglar from entering. He covers his ears to block out the loud shouting of the burglar to get Jimin to open the door.
He felt as if the door was going to come apart soon when it suddenly stops, and the apartment was filled with muffled screams instead.
Jimin picks up the trophy that was forgotten earlier and swings the door open, ready to spring a surprise attack on the burglar with the heavy object. But what he saw in front of him was Hoseok grabbing onto the burglar by his throat with one hand and covering his mouth with the other.
“Hobi-hyung?” Jimin calls out.
“Sorry to disappoint, Sunshine, but it’s not.”
The burglar’s eyes suddenly widen a lot more when he looks at the demon in the eyes. Tears formed around his eyes and he starts crying, which confused Jimin since he didn’t see the demon do anything to the man.
“You’re gonna forget everything you’ve seen here, and you’ll never think about stepping in here again,” the demon warns.
Jimin watches as the burglar’s face started to relax. The tears stopped flowing and the demon lets him go. The burglar picks up his bag and slowly walks out of the apartment, as if the last few minutes of events never happened. Jimin concludes that the demon had used his powers on the burglar. It was a really close call.
The demon closes the door and locks it, making sure that the lock wasn’t damaged by the break in.
Jimin lets out a huge sigh of relief as he slides down the wall and pulls his knees close to his chest. “Thank you, I don’t know what would’ve happened if you weren’t here to save me.”
The demon laughs, “I’ll tell you what, I wouldn’t have been able to get your soul. You will be under my protection until our deal is completed and your soul is guaranteed to be mine.”
Of course he saved Jimin for himself. He couldn’t possibly do anything without wanting something in return.
But Jimin was still thankful.
~~~

“Jiminie, wait up!”

Jimin could hear heavy footsteps behind him and he turns around to come face to face with a beaming Hoseok who was sweating as if he just finished a marathon.

“Hobi-hyung! Weren’t you still practicing in the studio?”

Hoseok holds his hand out in front of him, signalling for Jimin to wait as he calms himself, his pants starting to slow down. Jimin couldn't help but giggle.

“I was going to ask you out for dinner today cuz we have to discuss that new dance routine together, are you free?”

Jimin realises that this is the first time Hoseok had asked him out for something outside of school. It might have been due to no longer being nervous around Hoseok since he literally spends all his time at home with a certain demon who looks exactly like him.

So Jimin easily agrees to dinner, and Hoseok slings his arm around Jimin’s shoulder as they made their way towards the nearest fast food restaurant.

~~~
“How was your date?”
Jimin walks into his apartment and tosses his keys into a bowl next to the door.
“It was fun! Hobi-hyung was being entertaining as always. It’s so comforting to be around someone who is always so happy,” Jimin went on.
Not caring about the presence already on the couch, Jimin plops himself down on it and closes his eyes when he realises how tired he actually is. It’s not a few moments later when he feels something heavy on his lap.
He opens his eyes and makes eye contact with the Hoseok looking at him from his lap. Well, the demon one.
“What?” Jimin asks, still a little flustered nonetheless.
“You seem tired,” the demon states.
Jimin hums in acknowledgement. “Had a long day at the dance studio.”
The demon sits up and pulls Jimin’s head to rest it on his shoulder.
“What are you doing?”
The demon starts rubbing circles around his shoulders. “Helping you get used to having Hoseok care for you even before it happens eventually. Now rest.”
It’s a daily thing now. The demon would make small little gestures like holding hands and hugging Jimin when he’s on the couch. “To get you used to Hoseok,” he would tell Jimin. But Jimin didn’t really give it much thought.
He didn’t realise how tired he really was until his head was on the demon’s shoulder. Soon, his vision blurs out and he falls asleep.
The next time he opens his eyes is when he smells something from his kitchen.
It was kimchi stew.
Jimin rubs at his eyes to ease the itch and stretches when he stands up. He looks out his window and realises that it was already dark.
He drags his feet over to his kitchen to find demon Hoseok’s back facing him, and he sees that he actually bothered to put on an apron.
“I didn’t know demons could cook.”
“And I didn’t know you thought so little of me.”
“I don’t…”
Demon Hoseok chuckles, probably realising he put Jimin in a panic mode again. He doesn’t say anything, though.
Jimin hears the demon turn off the stove. He pulls out two bowls from a drawer and passes them over to the demon who pours the contents of the pot equally into each bowl.
The two sit on opposite ends of the table and Jimin tastes the first spoon of kimchi stew.
“Oh shit,” he mutters.
The demon looks up from his already half-finished portion. “Does it not taste good?”
“What are you talking about, aren’t you eating too? It’s heavenly!” Jimin says hurriedly, afraid that the demon might have misunderstood him and thought he didn’t like the cooking.
“Well, I don’t actually need to eat and everything tastes the same to me.”
“What made you cook this then?” Jimin didn’t understand why the demon would do anything unnecessary like cooking him a meal.
“I was bored. Now shut up and eat.”
Jimin pouts, knowing that as long as this deal went on, he would have to buy groceries enough for two, even though the demon didn’t actually need anything.
That would burn a hole in his wallet for sure. He needs the deal to be completed before he’s broke.
“When will it be done?”
“What?”
“Your part of the deal.”
“Oh,” the demon sighs, “I don’t know everything, Jimin. It’s not like I can just make Hoseok magically fall for you, I just create opportunities for shit to happen.”
Jimin placed his spoon down and folds his arms. “So what you’re saying is that I may never get what I want?” He huffs.
The demon cocks an eyebrow in question. “I usually spend no more than two weeks with my clients. Don’t worry about it.”
Don’t worry about it? Jimin doesn’t know where this was going. He was looking forward to Hoseok confessing to him soon since he thought the demon had done whatever it is he does to make people fall for each other. He thought it was working since Hoseok had asked him out for dinner.
Turns out it was all a coincidence and the whole thing was just a ploy of the demon to get Jimin’s soul. So how could he not ‘worry about it’?
This realisation only made Jimin frustrated.
“Well you’re gonna have to prepare to spend more than two weeks on this deal. Looks like not even demons can help me,” he says to the demon.
The demon frowns, which made Jimin feel a little uneasy.
He had crossed the demon.
“Look, I don’t give a shit about how little self esteem you have that you had to resort to summoning a demon to help you but since you have already done so...” the demon stands up from his seat and leans over so that he’s inches away from Jimin, “you must be pretty desperate. So I’d appreciate it if you could just let me do my job without complaining so damn much.”
The comment hit Jimin, hard. The demon was right. It is because of his low self esteem that he decided to summon the demon. It was exactly what he didn’t want to tell the demon when he was asked after they made the deal. The demon knew from the start but still decided to go on with the deal.
Jimin was so deep in thought that when he finally looks up to apologise to the demon for doubting his abilities, the demon was already gone.
~~~

The next few days, Jimin comes home to an empty apartment. It seemed only right, coming home to your own home without a supernatural presence lounging on your couch.

Yet, Jimin finds that the days have gotten lonelier.

“Jiminie, you’re making a lot of mistakes today. Are you feeling alright?” Hoseok asks. They  had stopped the music halfway for the eighth time that afternoon.

“Oh, I’m fine, Hobi-hyung. Let’s keep going. We still have about fifteen minutes before our booking ends.”

Hoseok grabs onto Jimin’s arm when he had wanted to go over to restart the track.

“No. We’ll stop here. Obviously something’s up. You’re never this distracted.”

Jimin’s shoulders slump. There was no use fighting Hoseok.

“Is it a guy?” Hoseok asks as he sits Jimin down on a chair. He grabs a bottle of water and tosses it at Jimin. “A girl?” He tries when Jimin didn’t answer.

Technically, it was a demon who looked like a guy. In fact the demon was basically a copy of this caring person in front of Jimin.

Jimin struggles to answer even that question and this makes Hoseok sigh.

“I don’t know if it’s an appropriate time to say this but I hope to be able to comfort you. Whoever this person is, he or she doesn’t deserve you,” the older boy starts. He grabs a chair and sits right opposite Jimin.

He takes a hold of one of Jimin’s hands, causing Jimin to look up at him in surprise. Hoseok takes a deep breath and exhales louder than usual.

“You are one of the nicest person I’ve ever known. I really don’t know why I haven’t realised this before.”

Is this…

“Jimin, I hope you can let me be the one to be there for you from now on.”

~~~
Jimin drags himself across his apartment and flings his bag to the ground before he throws himself onto the couch.
He immediately closes his eyes, too tired to think about everything that had happened that day.
“I told you he’d confess. And we are exactly on the two-week mark. You have what you want. My job here is done.”
Jimin shoots up from the couch once he heard the voice. Even though it was the same as Hoseok’s, the tone of it was different.
He sees the demon, sitting on the counter with a smug smile.
Jimin doesn’t realise that he himself was smiling until the demon pointed it out. “That happy, huh.”
His smile vanishes after that, and so does the demon’s.
Jimin’s fists were clenched and his nails were digging into his palms. “I told you this deal would last more than two weeks.”
The demon pushes himself off of the counter and starts walking towards Jimin.
“What are you talking about? Didn’t Hoseok already confess to you?”
“I rejected him.”
“You what!”
In mere seconds, Jimin was pinned to the wall and the demon had his hand around Jimin’s throat.
“What are you playing at, you lowly human?” The demon snarls.
“H-He’s not the one I’m in l-love with,” Jimin chokes out, tears already forming at the corners of his eyes as he struggles to breathe.
The demon realised this and releases his grip. Jimin drops to the floor, gasping for air.
“Stop your lies, Jimin. If you had fallen for someone else I would’ve appeared in the form of another person. I would know, of all people, even before you.”
“That’s because I’ve never seen his face, nor do I know his name,” Jimin spits.
“Oh wow, a crush on a random person on the streets I see! What’d he do? Pick up a coin you dropped?” The demon laughs and Jimin had never felt so hurt for he realises how easy the demon thought he was.
Maybe it’s true. He falls in love easily with whoever treated him well. He thinks that is probably how he realises he’s in love with the demon when he finds that he liked the Hoseok he sees at home more than the one he sees in school. The days without the demon around had affected Jimin so much he couldn’t even think straight.
“It’s you,” he finally admits. He felt a little relieved as he was still on the floor, and he didn’t have to look up at the demon.
The demon looked like he was about to continue hurling hurtful words at Jimin but his face fell, anger replaced with shock.
“What?”
Jimin could feel his face heating up. He didn’t want to repeat himself so he settles on teasing the demon. “I didn’t know demons could have hearing problems,” he mumbles, still looking at the ground, at the demon’s feet.
“Jimin,” the demon warns.
Jimin pulls at his own sleeves, hoping to ease off on the nervousness. “I don’t have feelings for Hoseok. All I could think of when he confessed to me was you. You may have the same face but… I just can’t explain it,” Jimin gave up on trying to explain and sighs, shaking his head.
He watches as the demon took a step back. He thought that he was rejected, until he sees the clothed kneecap of the demon. He was kneeling in front of Jimin.
Jimin finally looks up to gaze into the demon’s eyes when he felt a warm hand over his cheek. The demon’s eyes were completely different from the real Hoseok’s. It was the only part that can help Jimin differentiate between the two.
“I want to see the real you,” he practically begs.
Jimin always thought that the reason why the demon never showed his true face was probably because he was ugly. Whenever Jimin thought about demons, he’d imagined them to have ugly red skin, horns and even tails, as ridiculous as it sounds.
He never expected the demon to look so… beautiful.
It was the total opposite of what Jimin imagined a demon to look like. The figure in front of him had cat like eyes, and dark hair, a complete contrast from Hoseok’s bright, red coloured hair that Jimin was so used to seeing in his apartment.
The demon pulls Jimin up so that they were both standing up. Jimin realises that they were about the same height. The demon was probably only one or two centimetres taller than him.
“You lost some height,” Jimin says.
Jimin goes through a series of emotions when the demon pouts. He pouted. And Jimin swears that he has never seen the demon being so cute, Even though it had only been a few minutes since the demon revealed himself to Jimin.
“You’re not exactly tall either.”
Jimin bites his bottom lip to stop himself from smiling too much at the demon’s childish behavior that was slowly showing itself.
“See if I’m lying now, try changing back to who you think I like,” he challenges the demon.
“Brat, I’ve tried,” the demon huffs, but Jimin sees a smile forming on his face.
“So, will you be able to keep to your time limit of two weeks?”
The demon ruffles Jimin’s hair and lets out a low chuckle, which Jimin hopes he can hear more in the near future. “I never go back on my word.”
Jimin frowns, “So it’s just for the sake of the deal?”
The demon smooths his thumb over the crease in Jimin’s eyebrows. “I’ve wanted to make you mine the moment you summoned me.”
Jimin was stunned. He doesn’t believe the demon for even a moment. “H-How is that possible? There’s nothing special about me. You’re a goddamn demon who can get whatever you could ever want-” Jimin starts but was interrupted by the demon’s finger on his lips.
“First of all, do not ever say His name in my presence, even though I know it’s just something you humans like to say as a figure of speech. Second of all, I don’t know how many times I’m going to have to tell you this, but you have a freaking low self esteem. There is nothing wrong with you and you are so, so kind. You are a literal sunshine. You’re everything that I am not, as a demon- Why are you crying again?”
Jimin softly punches the demon’s shoulder. “I can’t believe you have so much to say about me even though it’s only been two weeks,” he sniffs.
The demon’s expression softens and he reaches out to wipe off the tears flowing freely from Jimin’s eyes.
“This is so embarrassing…” Jimin laughs.
“What is?”
“I don’t even know your name.”
“Well, that’s only because you never asked.” The demon rolls his eyes, feigning annoyance. “It’s Yoongi.”
Yoongi. Jimin likes it. It suits the demon. He smiles at Yoongi, who mirrors his expression.
“Congratulations, our deal is done.” Yoongi slowly pulls Jimin’s face closer to his, and their lips touch. He was kissing the same demon, but it was a different pair of lips. And this time, it was the pair of lips belonging to the actual being he was in love with. Not disguised, not fake.
Real.
Yoongi was the first to pull away. He cups Jimin’s face in his hands.
“Your soul is now mine. Forever.”
Chapter 2: *Bonus*
Summary:
Jimin falls sick and Demon Yoongi takes care of him.
Notes:
I've been asked to write a sequel but I didn't know HOW to go about it, so I thought maybe just a bonus chap would be good. I really hope you like it! I keyboard smashed this out when the scenario popped up in my mind
Chapter Text
It’s another tiring day for Jimin at the dance studio, more tiring so today. He was struggling to catch his breath by the time the music had stopped. It was only the second round of practice and they had several more to go.
“Hey, you okay?” Hoseok asks, crouching down beside Jimin and smoothing his hand down his spine to calm him down when he realises that he was breathing a little too hard.
“Y-Yeah. Don’t worry... about it,” Jimin says in between pants.
“As if I wouldn’t,” Hoseok scoffs and slowly helps Jimin up. He gently sits him down at the corner of the studio and runs off to the pantry of the studio.
“Here, drink this,” Hoseok says when he comes back, offering Jimin a glass of water and Jimin downs it almost immediately.
Jimin’s breathing slows and he looks up, wanting to thank Hoseok. He sees a very concerned expression on Hoseok’s face.
“I’m calling Yoongi to come get you.” Hoseok already had his phone out and he scrolls through his contact list to find Yoongi’s number.
“What? Why? I’m totally fine-”
“You’re not. You’re shivering,” Hoseok says sternly, cutting Jimin’s weak protests.
Jimin sometimes forgets that the care Hoseok showed for the people close to him was the exact reason why Jimin used to crush on him. It is quite ironic, though. Hoseok never quite sensed that Jimin was always flustered and shy around him in the past. He never knew that Jimin had a crush on him, not even when he confessed to Jimin two years ago and Jimin had to reject him.
But fortunately for that, Jimin had the chance to meet Yoongi.
Sure, summoning a demon to help you ‘find love’ was a desperate move, and kind of evil, seeing as how the victim is being manipulated into falling for the summoner.
But it never went the way Jimin imagined. Who knew he’d ended up with the demon he summoned instead?
Demons are often described as evil. But Jimin’s learnt that not all demons are, a perfect example being Yoongi, as well as some of his friends that Jimin has met.
Ever since they started dating, which is something Jimin still can’t fully believe, Jimin’s been nothing but spoiled by Yoongi. Yoongi had made him move into a new apartment with better security, using the previous break-in to justify the need for it. And since it was rather far away from Jimin’s university, Yoongi drove him to and fro until Jimin finally graduated.
Jimin was now a dance teacher in his own academy, but he still practiced with Hoseok from time to time and joined competitions together, along with their other friend Jungkook, who had joined Jimin’s class a few months ago.
The academy was much nearer to Jimin’s apartment, so Yoongi finally allows him to go home by himself. But Jimin feels that that freedom will be stripped away once again once Hoseok tells Yoongi about Jimin’s current situation.
“Come on, Sunshine, time to go.” Jimin hears the voice that had never failed to calm him down over the past two years.
Jimin was feeling extremely drowsy by now so all he does is reach his hands out. He is then met with the strong smell of Yoongi’s cologne, the one he got him as an anniversary gift just last week. He habitually wraps his arms around the demon’s neck as soon as the demon effortlessly carries his from the chair, bridal style.
“I can never understand how you’re able to carry him so easily with your physique,” Hoseok laughs.
“Shut up, I’m stronger than I look,” Yoongi snaps back, which causes Jimin to smile against his chest.
Of course Hoseok doesn’t know that Yoongi’s a demon. All he did was ask for Yoongi’s number so that he could hunt him down in case he hurts Jimin in any way. There was no actual hostility between the two, but there were times when Yoongi would get jealous about the amount of time Jimin spent with Hoseok, especially when competitions were near and they had to meet up to practice more often.
“Why are you always with him anyway?” Yoongi would question whenever Jimin told him that he was going out for a dance practice.
Jimin sometimes reassured Yoongi by telling him that Jungkook was with them too. But most of the time, he doesn’t bother explaining himself.
“I chose you, didn’t I?” Was what Jimin usually said and it would shut Yoongi up.
Yoongi would still show signs of possessiveness in front of Hoseok, though. He’d make sure that his arm was around Jimin’s waist when they were together, and made sure that they spent as little time together as possible, repeatedly asking Jimin if they could go home where they would just cuddle and watch movies.
When they are out of the studio, Jimin is met with a breeze of cold air that makes his body shake more. Yoongi holds him tighter and Jimin nuzzles into his chest.
“Sunshine, just a little while more and we’ll be in the car. Hold on, okay?” Yoongi says, full of concern in his voice and Jimin weakly nods.
A few moments later, Jimin hears the opening of the car door and he taps Yoongi’s chest to be put down on his legs. “I can get in myself, Yoongi, don’t want you knocking your head…”
“Okay. Careful.”
Jimin gets into the car and makes himself comfortable in the back seat.
“Thanks for helping me, Namjoon.” Jimin hears faintly in the background.
Namjoon? Why would another demon be here?
“No problem, Hyung. But he looks like crap, I think you’d better quickly sit in with him.”
Jimin frowns at the sounds of two car doors simultaneously opening and the sudden movement of the entire car due to the shift in weight, making it extremely uncomfortable for Jimin.
He feels arms enveloping him and he smells that cologne again. He leans into Yoongi’s chest and breathes in the smell of it.
“I’ll turn on the heater, rest well, Jimin.”
Jimin forgets whether he thanked Namjoon or not.
~~~
The next time Jimin wakes up was when he felt like he was burning and could feel his clothes sticking to his skin.

“Yoongi…”

The demon was right beside him in seconds.

“Yes, Sunshine?”

“‘m hot…” Jimin whines, running his hands through his hair and scowling at the sweat that collected in his hand.

“I know, I know. Would you like a bath?” Yoongi asks as he places his palm on the side of Jimin’s face and runs his thumb over his cheek soothingly.

Jimin nods. “But not now. My head is pounding.”

“Alright, Sunshine, is there anything else I can do for you? I’ll turn on the air conditioning?” Yoongi says, pulling his hand away but Jimin holds it to his cheek and leans into Yoongi’s touch.

“I want cuddles,” he shyly says and Yoongi could see Jimin’s already flushed cheeks turn redder. He smiles. The human is too cute to resist.

Yoongi makes sure that the temperature of his body was lower than the normal human’s before pulling the sheets off Jimin and joining him in their bed.

Jimin immediately snuggles into Yoongi and lets out a contented sigh. “Thank you, Yoongi.”

Yoongi smiles and places a kiss on the top of Jimin’s head. “Sleep now, Angel.”
~~~
Jimin wakes up for the third time of the day to the smell of food.
“Oh, you’re awake. Feeling better?”
He nods, and Yoongi places the back of his hand on his forehead gently.
“Your fever’s come down. Do you want to eat something?”
Jimin’s stomach answers for him with a growl and Yoongi chuckles. Jimin pouts, unwilling to move from the comfortable bed.
“It’s okay, you don’t have to move. I’ll bring the food over.”
Jimin watches Yoongi disappear into the kitchen, well, not literally, there was no need to use his powers here. He comes back with a bowl of porridge.
“I always love the food you cook,” Jimin says with a grin, appreciative of Yoongi’s thoughtful gesture.
“Sunshine, it’s just porridge, come on.”
“Yeah but you cooked it.”
Yoongi rolls his eyes, not understanding Jimin’s logic, but there was no hint of annoyance. He sits down beside Jimin and picks up the spoon in the bowl, careful not to mix the contents too much. He carefully scoops up the top layer of porridge to make sure it wasn’t too hot for Jimin.
Jimin takes the first spoon of porridge with a small smile, eyes never leaving Yoongi’s.
“I’m right. It tastes great,” Jimin says.
Yoongi laughs lightly at his comment, not understanding how great plain porridge could taste. Besides, everything tasted the same to him.
Yoongi continues feeding Jimin, and they were both silent, enjoying the peace between them.
That is, until a bit of porridge ran down the side of Jimin’s mouth and he wanted to wipe it off with the back of his hand but Yoongi beats him to it, swiping it off with his thumb and licking it clean.
“Yoongi! Don’t do that!” Jimin stares at his boyfriend in horror, face heating up.
“Why?” Yoongi asks, confused.
“Well! I’m sick, and doing that- oh my god, that was…” Jimin trails off, burying his face in his hands in embarrassment.
“You forget that I’m not human, germs don’t affect me,” Yoongi shrugs, and picks up the spoon again.
Jimin obviously hadn’t recovered from his state of shock as he leans forward and lightly plops his forehead on Yoongi’s shoulder, causing the demon to laugh again.
He sets the bowl back on the bedside table and pulls Jimin’s hands away from his face and holds them between their laps.
“Don’t have to be embarrassed in front of me, Sunshine,” Yoongi says, smoothing his thumbs over Jimin’s knuckles.
“Then don’t do that again,” Jimin pouts.
“I make no promises,” Yoongi says with a smirk.
“Don’t make me start another deal with you. I swear, I’ll kiss it out of you.”
“Too bad, Sunshine, your soul is already mine. You only get one deal in a lifetime.”
Jimin groans in frustration, realising he had lost.
“Give me that porridge. I’ll eat it myself,” Jimin demands with a frown.
Yoongi doesn’t tease Jimin anymore, even though he badly wanted to tell Jimin that his frown and pouty face only made him look cuter. He hands the now warm bowl of porridge to Jimin and stands up to leave the room.
“Where are you going?” Jimin asks.
Sometimes, it wasn’t clear who was the needy one.
“I’m gonna run you a warm bath and you’re gonna bathe in it later.”
“Oh. Okay,” Jimin beams as he gobbles up the rest of the porridge. He hops off the bed moments later to join Yoongi in the bathroom.
They take a bath together, after Jimin forces Yoongi to, despite the demon nagging him about how he might get lightheaded if he stayed in the hot tub for too long.
Jimin sits in his old study chair and Yoongi gently blow dries his hair for him. After all that, Yoongi makes Jimin stay in the living room while he changes the sheets which were covered in Jimin’s dried sweat from the afternoon.
Jimin takes the time to reply to the messages of his concerned friends and check out the timelines of the several social media accounts he had.
Yoongi calls out to him from the bedroom a few minutes later and Jimin strolls in to find that the bed was now neatly made with new sheets. He plops himself onto the bed and rolls to his side, making space for Yoongi on the other.
He feels the other side of the bed sink down a little and he turns around to face his beloved.
“Jimin,” Yoongi starts. And Jimin knows that he was getting serious. He rarely called Jimin anything other than pet names now. “Did you really think that you were in any condition to come home by yourself today?”
Jimin stays quiet. Truthfully, he hadn’t even realised that he was unwell until Yoongi carried him earlier. He manages a shrug and Yoongi sighs. “Will you just allow me to drive you home again from now on? You’re really not troubling me whatsoever. All my time is for you now. Unless, there’s something you’d like to talk about regarding your privacy?”
Jimin’s eyes widen at this, realising that he might’ve hurt Yoongi. “No! No, there’s nothing wrong with it. I just really enjoy the walk home, you know? Especially when it’s windy out,” Jimin explains frantically, wanting to clear any misunderstandings between him and Yoongi.
Yoongi nods and runs his hand along Jimin’s arm, attempting to ease him, “Sunshine, it’s okay, I’m not mad. Look, if you want to walk home so bad, would you allow me to walk with you?”
Jimin allows himself to think about how it would be like to walk home with Yoongi, hand in hand and the whole idea makes him blush.
It’d be a whole new experience.
“I’d love that,” Jimin says and Yoongi gives him a smile, the smile that showed off his pinkish gums which Jimin loves so much. He returns Yoongi’s smile and scoots closer to place a kiss on the demon’s lips, which the demon gladly returns.
“Thank you for today, Yoongi,” he says when he pulls back.
“Anything for you, Sunshine.”
Jimin giggles, still affected by the pet name Yoongi gave him when they started dating.
“I love you,” he says, cuddling into Yoongi.
“I love you too.”
