Heart On Fire

Summary:

His heart was on fire.

"What the fuck you bastard," Bakugou held on to his chest. The burning sensation in his heart flared up again. What the hell was Todoroki thinking about now?

Maybe the real reason he never lit his flames was because he was tired from all the fire in his heart.

Day 4 of #bktdweek18_vol2: Soulmates

Notes:

Here is my soulmate prompt for bakutodo week! I'm a day late, but the fic just got longer than I intended. I hope you all enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Bakugou never looked up to anyone his own age. He was always told that he was the best, so why would he? It's not until he's sees Todoroki Shouto in action during the battle trial that he's starts to realize there may be someone just as good or even better than him. Bakugou would never acknowledge anyone but himself, so this could only mean one thing. They shared something, and it wasn't just anything like ambition or the way they both managed to awe their class members. What Todoroki and Bakugou shared ran much deeper, it was what all humans have embodied into them. A soul.

They were soulmates.

The way Bakugou felt when watching Todoroki was a mix of many unfamiliar feelings he had never felt with any of his peers growing up. One of them being respect. The only person Bakugou would dare say he respected, besides himself, was All Might. Who wouldn't? But the way Todoroki ended his trial so quick and calmly made him way less angry than he should have been. He was still angry of course considering he was Bakugou, the embodiment of anger, but not as much so as he normally would have felt. Instead he was filled with inspiration, and the need to improve himself. He was even more determined now to reach his goal of becoming number one.

However, there was another unnatural feeling Bakugou felt when watching Todoroki, but this time it was genuinely unorthodox. He felt extremely cold. It was as if Bakugou's body had been completely frozen, and at first Bakugou thought he was just frozen with fear but that wasn't it either. It was what Todoroki was feeling. Bakugou somehow knew this was him, and there was one other sensation he noticed inside him too.

His heart was on fire.

No exaggerations, his heart was burning fiercely despite not lighting a single flame. Todoroki looked so calm and felt so cool on the outside, but then why did his heart burn with such hatred on the inside?

When Todoroki's trial ended so did the hot and cold sensations. It made Bakugou confused and somehow lonely. Especially since from then on he could tell Todoroki was unaware of his presence. His eyes would only ever look at Deku.

---

"You wouldn't think him to be the clever type looking at him, but those were some subtle motor skills." Todoroki shared his observation with the class.

Todoroki hadn't planned on paying too much attention while the other trials were going on. He wasn't here to make friends with these people after all. He just wanted to prove he could reach the top without using the power he inherited from his sorry excuse of a father. None of them seemed to reach his level of skill though, so watching felt pointless. Even though Todoroki knows this he can't take his eyes off of the first battle trial. Those two boys, Midoriya and Bakugou, are way in over their heads. He can see they might prove to be good rivals eventually, but why did watching Midoriya and Bakugou's fight make him want to crush Midoriya? And why the hell were his hands so sweaty? Todoroki didn't know this person. He shouldn't feel like this with a stranger, especially one that didn't pose a particular threat. At least not with that huge defect of his bones breaking whenever his quirk was activated.

However, maybe that was exactly it. Midoriya's quirk was very similar to All Mights. Too similar. There had to be a connection there, and once Midoriya got a better hold of his quirk he could become a real threat. The same threat that All Might had been to his fathers position as the number one hero. Father... Todoroki thought briefly, and was induced with rage. Not from his father, but from other means he wasn't sure about. The rage building in him though caused the hatred for his father to come back up.

I can't let anyone beat me. I must prove to my shitty old man that I can be number one without his good for nothing flames.

Midoriya had won against Bakugou. This would be the start of Todoroki's interest in Midoriya. Nothing too drastic yet, but he would definitely be observing him closely. Once their battle ended Todoroki's hands stopped sweating, but his rage still had not been burnt out.

---

"Did you know? Soulmates can sometimes feel each other in times of intense emotional or physical situations."

Bakugou had heard something like that once long ago as a child, but he didn't actually believe it. Hearing it again brought him back to the topic of soulmates, specifically his supposed soulmate, Todoroki. That's probably what happened to him during Todoroki's battle trial. Did Todoroki feel him too? Probably not considering he hadn't paid any attention to him during the USJ villain raid, despite them both fighting those ugly ass monsters up close. Not that Bakugou needed any attention from him, but fuck it was annoying. How had that bastard not realized it yet? And why was it bothering Bakugou so much?

Stupid pretty bastard. Bakugou thought to himself. Whatever, if Todoroki didn't want to ackowledge him then fine. He didn't care. And he didn't need no lousy soulmate either. Bakugou needed to focus on being the number one hero anyway. I don't need no distractions like- Bakugou pauses mid-thought. Like? Like what? Love or some shit? Hell no I'm not in love with that stupid half and half bastard! Right? Soulmates aren't always about love, right? Yeah, of course. We're just life rivals or some shit like that. Yeah, that has to be it.

Bakugou tries to go to sleep, but thoughts of Todoroki keep him up. How long would it take for him to beat that guy? To understand his techniques and success. How long until he learned where that huge scar came from or to feel the touch of his weird, but beautiful hair on his fingers? Dammit. Maybe he was in love, but no way would he ever admit that out loud. At least not until he got Todoroki to look at him.

Bakugou finally manages to sleep, but even then his head is still filled with Todoroki. In Bakugou's dreams Todoroki has already ackloweded him. If only the real version weren't so slow.

---

"Also, it's just like Tsuyu said on the bus! His super strength is a lot like All Might's."

"So he might have taken some interest in him."

Todoroki overhears his classmates. It really wasn't his imagination. Midoriya's quirk was just like All Mights, and now All Might had shown some interest in him? This couldn't be a coincidence. There was without a doubt only one exlpanation for this. Midoriya is All Might's successor... or maybe even... his secret love child!?

It's the most logical conclusion, or at least that's what Todoroki thinks. Midoriya either inherited that quirk or coincidentally gotten a very similar one. The child thing was silly, but what are the odds All Might starts teaching at UA and finds a kid with a quirk that acts in a similar fashion? Midoriya had to be a love child, though he wouldn't bet his money on it just yet.

Whatever their relationship was didn't matter. It was obvious that All Might was trying to give Midoriya some pointers for the sports festival coming up. This was the perfect oppurtunity to have All Might's- successor, child, whatever- present himself to the other pro heroes, no, to all of Japan even.

Todoroki clenched his fist. Midoriya. I can't afford to lose. Whether you're really All Mights love child or not, you still pose a threat

It appeared that the sports festival was going to be the moment Todoroki finally decalred rivalry against Midoriya.

---

What the fuck you bastard, Bakugou held on to his chest. The burning sensation in his heart flared up again. What the hell was Todoroki thinking about now?

Bakugou was already in a bad mood more so than usual. His dreams didn't help the denial of his feelings for Todoroki. To make matters worse the stupid asshole was getting all fired up again, and he felt it. He told himself he would try to forget about him, but how could he when his heart was on fire?

A stupid mob was starting to form outside the classroom and Bakugou didn't have the patience for it. He needed to remind them all that he would be the one at the top and no one else. Not Deku, and not Todoroki, but himself. Once he was at the top no one would ignore him. Not even half and half bastard.

Bakugou got up from his seat to go tell the crowd of extras to shut the hell up.

---

It was the day of the sports festival. Everyone was pumped up to do their best for the audience watching. Especially Bakugou, and he could feel Todoroki felt the same.

"On an objective basis I think I'm above you in terms of practical strength."

"Wha- Ah, uh, Yeah.."

"You've managed to get All Might's eyes on you, right? I feel no need to pry into that, but... I'm going to beat you."

What the fucking hell. No. No way was fucking Deku getting attention from stupid half shit face.

"I'm going to go for it with all my might too!" Deku proclaimed to Todoroki.

That was the last straw. Bakugou was going to get Todoroki to see him once and for all. He didn't even care about the whole soulmate thing. I'll be damned if I let Deku steal my rival.

...

And that's exactly one of the reasons why Bakugou had to declare it to everyone, "I'm gonna place first."

---

The preliminaries had begun and Todoroki had unsurprisingly gotten a lead. Perfect, Bakugou thought. This was the perfect oppurtunity to show Todoroki that he could catch up to him. No matter the gap! I'm gonna meet your gaze and kick your ass! Bakugou thought to himself with a wicked grin. This was getting him excited.

Bakugou could finally see Todoroki's back. Now! He sent out an explosion to elevate him to catch up to the asshole.

"HA, IT DON'T MEAN A THING TO ME!" Finally, he was finally right next to the bastard. "Yo, you think you might have issued that war of declaration to the wrong rival?" Their eyes locked, and Bakugou swore the world around him disappeared in favor of Todoroki. If only they weren't completing right now Bakugou would be tempted to kiss the asshole for daring to look so cute while avoiding land mines. Now wasn't the time to be thinking about that kind of stuff though.

At last, Todoroki saw him. However, he knew he still wasn't truly looking at him. It was still Deku who had his attention, but even that was fine. Bakugou knew by the end of this tournament, Todoroki would finally see him as a true rival. He would make sure of it.

Bakugou's scuffle with Todoroki made the both of them completely forget about Deku. And soon he had taken the lead from them both.

"Again? Shit! GODDAMMIT!" Bakugou had let the two of them take the lead once again, but it ended here.

---

Bakugou had to form a team now, which was a nightmare considering he didn't remember shit about his classmates quirks. At least everyone came flocking to him though thanks to his ranking. Kirishima offered himself up as well.

"We'll definitely get those points, right? Midoriya's ten million!"

Bakugou smiled crudely to himself, Yes this will work. I'll crush you both, Deku, half and half bastard...! Ow! His heart was starting to burn again. Damn Todoroki couldn't have waited until after the human calvary?

...

"Todoroki you can feint your attacks by using either ice or fire, right?"

Todoroki started to burn with hatred, remembering the vow he took against his father. "No. While in combat I never use my fire side." He could see his father staring at him from the crowd. Good, he won't be getting to see those flames today.

Or at least that's what Todoroki thought.

---

DAMMIT!
Bakugou cursed to himself. Second place. He got second fucking place, but at least this he time he bested Deku. From third place to second... This time for sure! This time Bakugou would make sure to place first. Speaking of first where had Todoroki gone? It was about time he told him off for still ignoring him. He deserved to be recognized as a rival by now too, dammit!

As Bakugou looks around for his one-sided rival slash soulmate he suddenly hears a familar voice.

"You wanted to tell me something... What is it?"

Deku? What was he doing sneaking over here privately with someone? Whatever, it wasn't of Bakugou's concern after all. Just as Bakugou was about to walk away he hears the voice of the boy he had been looking for.

"You blind-sided me. To the point that I even had to break my own vow."

Vow? What fucking vow? Bakugou's curiosity makes him completely forget about leaving and the fact that he's eavesdropping on a private conversation.

"I'm saying what I felt from you was the same. Something too similar." I was right all along you really are.. Todoroki gets ready to drop his killer theory. "Yo... you All Might's secret love child or something?"

What the hell are you saying moron!? Bakugou face palms, embarrassed of his own rival-soulmate. Why did Bakugou get stuck with such a dumbass as his soulmate anyway? What cruel part of the universe decided that? Maybe it was fate balancing out every other exceedingly great quality about Bakugou, but it still didn't seem fair. At least he was a pretty dumbass.

"You must know about my father, Endeavor."

Endeavor? Come to think of it, Bakugou never had an interest in the guy. Whenever someone mentioned him or he appeared on television Bakugou would tune him out. Not even over a personal grudge or anything. Bakugou just always felt he sucked despite having no basis for it.

"All he wanted was to satisfy his own agenda, and raise a hero to triumph over All Might. Fuck him, I'll never, never, be that piece of shits tool!"

Shit..! The fire in Todoroki's heart was lit once again, and it was burning like never before. So this was the burden Todoroki was holding. Bakugou was clenching tightly at his chest.

"In my memories my mom is always crying. She told me my left side is ugly and dumped boiling water on me."

Ughg! More..? Bakugou almost couldn't bare the intensity coming from his chest. It feels like there's an actual fire inside him, and it won't go out easily.

"I'll become number one without needing to use that shitty old man's quirk. This is my disavowal to him."

Bakugou has to take a moment to catch his breathe and take in everything he just heard. Why the hell did that bastard just give his whole life story? The pain in Bakugou's heart had simmered down, but not completely. The scar on Todoroki's face was from his mom? All because she spilled boiling hot water on him? Bakugou honestly couldn't help but feel bad for Todoroki. Maybe the real reason he never lit his flames was because he was tired from all the fire in his heart.

Despite feeling bad for his supposed soulmate Bakugou also couldn't help but think, What a complete dumbass! Yeah, his past was tragic and award winning even, but what the hell? That was his power not Endeavors. Was Todoroki taking all his opponents so lightly that he thought he could beat them using only his ice? That's going to kick him in the ass later, especially when he goes up against me! Bakugou couldn't help but be angry, and god dammit if only he could tell Todoroki that himself but he was already eavesdropping as it is.

"I'm going to beat you too!" Deku says to Todoroki, just as Bakugou is thinking it. He wishes he could say it to his face too, but he'd get his chance. He was going to win this and face off against Todoroki in the finals.

---

"You'll reach your limit soon enough."

Todoroki was tired. Tired of hearing that voice always in the back of his head where it didn't belong. Those damn flames were burning at his heart again. His ice powers had been readied, and were practically pouring out of him now. Poor Sero, he would have to apologize to him after the match.

---

Fuck! why again so soon...!?
What had happened to Todoroki now? Anger had been building up inside Bakugou until he looked into the crowd on a whim and noticed Endeavor was missing from his seat. Shit. So this was Endeavors doing. Shocker.

After about a minute of the burning pain from his heart he started to realize it was dying down, quickly. Way too quickly, what was going on? Instead of his heart in flames now his heart was getting increasingly colder as if it was being incased in ice. Soon Bakugou's whole body was getting shivers and he tried to muster all of his strength to not make it visibly noticeable.

"Yo, Bakugou you nervous or something?" Kaminari teased.

"As if drooly shit face!" Bakugou argued back and Kaminari shut up.

Todoroki's match had started, but just with the blink of an eye it was over. Todorki froze half the stage and now some of the audience was shivering with Bakugou.

Todoroki.. You asshole, pull yourself together. Bakugou could feel the cold finally fading away, and thank god for that too. It was honestly much worse than when his heart was on fire. Or maybe he had just gotten used to it by now. One thing was for sure though, and it was that Todoroki was still bothered by the fire inside him. So much so that he didn't even care about freezing his heart, if it meant putting his flames out.

---

A win for Bakugou. That Uraraka girl had put up a good fight, but Bakugou said he'd take first place so that's exactly what he intended. Next was Todoroki and Deku's fight.

You better win this, halfy assed shit faced bastard. Bakugou didn't really think he would lose against Deku, but he still felt the need to silently encourage Todoroki. After all, Deku did make it this far, but this would be extent of his abilities for sure.

As Bakugou's thoughts raced on he notices he was getting cold again. Not unbearably cold like before, but it was still a nusiance. This cold feeling was expected though, Todoroki was fighting with only his ice powers after all. Stupid bastard could fix this if he just used his fire.

Todoroki was starting to get sluggish now and it was effecting his technique. Come on! Don't let stupid Deku beat you, dumbass!

As Bakugou yelled inside his head he noticed Deku even seemed to be pissed off at Todoroki too, probably for the same reason no doubt. Deku even managed to get hit in on Todoroki. That's what you get for being so stubborn!

"It's your power!"

Deku? Bakugou shouldn't have been able to hear their voices from down on the stage. How did he heart that?

Then a surge of light appeared out of nowhere and the temperature rose. Ah. So Deku was able to get Todoroki to use his flames. Bakugou could slightly see Todoroki's shaky smile and the fire rising off of him and could only think one thing. He's fucking beautiful, dammit. Not just the way he looked, but the way he felt was charming too. Despite Todoroki using his flames his heart didn't feel like it was on fire. Instead it felt like a warm friendly light inside of him. That's how it should have been. Bakugou can't help, but feel a mix of relief and jealousy. Relief that Todoroki could finally achieve a safe warmth inside his heart, but jealous that he wasn't the who did that for him. Bakugou wishes he were the one that got Todoroki's flames out, and that he was the one in the ring watching Todoroki up close, finally taking that step.

Damn Deku stealing my spotlight again.

---

"And next, the finals will be settled with Todoroki versus Bakugou!"

Bakugou was heading over to his waiting room and his damn heart was acting up again. I thought you fixed things, dammmit! Fucking Deku didn't do a good enough job of saving you? Bakugou knows the problems that had been weighting on Todoroki's heart for years couldn't be fixed so easily, but he still had to blame Deku. It's in his nature.

Bakugou uses his foot to kick down the door, having no patience to open it the normal way. Besides he's Bakugou, and nothing he does is at the normal standard.

For some reason Todoroki is waiting in his room, "Why the hell are you in here...!?" Oh. Bakugou had gotten wrong room number.

Despite Bakugou's mishap Todoroki pays him no mind. He just straight up ignores him and goes back to whatever it was he was spacing out about. Which is a huge mistake on Todoroki's part because now Bakugou is beyond furious.

Ignoring me again, huh? I'm not having it anymore! "Is that really the kind of attitude to have toward a fellow finalist? Where are you looking, two face!?" Bakugou set off an explosion in his anger.

Todoroki finally speaks up, but when he does he only manages to twist the knife. "Midoriya said that too. I heard you two are childhood friends. Has he always been that way?"

Bakugou's last nerve had been severed, and before he knew it he was kicking the table over in his rage. "Who gives a fuck about him! I couldn't give a smaller fuck, and that includes your situation at home along with your shitty feelings!" Bakugou instinctively clutches at where his heart is, "And since I don't give a shit feel free to use that fucking flame of yours on me!"

Bakugou is too angry to realize the extent of what he's said. He did care about Todoroki's feelings. How could he not? They were soulmates for crying out loud. But he was too caught up in his anger from being flat out ignored and Deku having been brought up. Bakugou did want Todoroki to use his flames though. As his rival and soulmate he wanted to go up against them, and be someone who could light Todoroki up like Deku.

Bakugou leaves the room and Todoroki feels speechless. Why did it seem like Bakugou knew so much about him? My situation at home and.. my feelings? Why had he clenched at his chest? Todoroki lays a hand on where his heart should be. There's no way, right? Todoroki was confused, but there wasn't any time to think about that. It was time to show everyone he would be the one winning this, but whether he could do that with his flames or not, Todoroki was unsure.

---

"START!"

Todoroki used his ice right off the bat to completely trap Bakugou.

Hell no! Bakugou quickly used his explosions to escape from the block of ice. Once he dug his way out he dodged Todoroki's obvious attack that had been in wait and grabbed him from his left. This will teach ya. "You underestimating me, dipshit?" Bakugou throws Todoroki like a ragdoll.

"Am I not strong enough for you or something? I'm here to get to the top, asswipe! I can't do that if you're not here with the intent to win with all your fucking strength!"

Todoroki looked like he might crumble. I'm sorry, Bakugou. I still don't know if what I'm doing is right!

"Don't lose now! Come on, you can do it!" Deku shouted encouragement towards Todoroki.

For once Bakugou agreed with him. Turn your head and face me! Let out all those shitty flames you've been keeping inside your heart!

Todoroki looked at Bakugou with wide eyes, as if he did more than just understand his thoughts, but heard them.

Todoroki's flames started up and they burned brightly.

Oh, you finally get it now you piece of shit? Bakugou readied his attack, "HOWITZER IMPACT!"

During Bakugou's attack though, it seemed Todoroki's fire had burnt out.

No! He cancelled it out!?

And there laid an unconscious Todoroki in the midst of his crumbled tower of ice.

Bakugou was declared the winner to everyone, but himself.

---

"Yo." Bakugou had finally managed to find Todoroki amongst the chaos of the sports festivals wrap up.

"Yo, congrats on your win."

"This ain't a real win and you know it!" Bakugou barked back, and something about the way Todoroki said that has him to believe it was meant to anger him.

"I'm sorry about that. That I wasn't able to go full strength with you." Todoroki looks like he was genuinely upset. Not just for his own sake, but for Bakugou's as well.

"Tch, whatever. Can't go back and change it now or anything. I'm sure you're pissed off too. We'll just have to live with these fucking medals, like a wound."

"Just like All Might said."

"Yeah."

"B-by the way..." Bakugou starts, scratching the back of his head and looking the other way, "Sorry about what i said before the match. I got angry and shit because of how fucking annoying you are, but still, I guess it was out of line." Bakugou's cheeks are slightly flushed. The hell did he need to apologize for? He's not sure, but it felt appropriate for the moment.

"It's fine. What you said didn't really bother me much, but it was sort of odd. Do you... Do you know about-" Todoroki gestured to where his heart was.

"Yeah, the shitty fire in your heart? I've been feeling it for the past couple of weeks ever since we met."

"Sorry about that then. I didn't realize there was someone else who could feel, this." The fire in his heart started up again and Bakugou flinched at it's return. "How exactly are you able to feel it though?"

"How the fuck else do you think? Cause we're soulmates, dumbass."

Todoroki didn't look like he understood any better with that answer. "Soulmates?"

Bakugou was going to kick this guy. Did he really not know what a soulmate was? "How the fuck do you not know what a soulmate is? My parents didn't exactly teach me much, but I still learned about them from other people."

"My parents never told me, and my environment prevented me from interacting much with others."

"Oh." Bakugou goes uncharacteristically quiet, rembering Todoroki's circumstances. Todoroki's eyes narrow observingly.

"You know about my family too, don't you? Your comment before our battle was oddly specific. Your situation at home. That's what you said."

Shit. "Yeah, uh sorry about that too. I wasn't purposefully trying to eavesdrop or anything."

"If it's you, then I guess it's okay," Todoroki takes a step close to Bakugou, very close, and rests his hand on his cheek. "My soulmate, huh? I must have really pissed off some god in another life if I was unlucky enough to get a shit like you."

"Well, damn I could say the same for you, dumbass." Bakugou argues with his face bright red. Damn Todoroki, always making him feel so warm. But at least this time it was the comfortable kind that Bakugou hoped Todoroki would feel more in the future.

"By the way I was wondering if you could help prove a theory of mine about Midoriya since you've known each other for so long."

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

"Is Midoriya All Might's secret love child?"

"NO, NOW QUIT FUCKING SAYING THAT. IT'S A DISGRACE TO ALL MIGHT!"

---

(Three weeks later)

"I asked mom about soulmates the other day." Todoroki says as he wraps his arms around his boyfriend while they lay comfortably in his bed.

"Oh, what'd she say?" Bakugou knew enough about soulmates from what he gathered, but he liked it when Todoroki talked about his mother. His face was always so kind looking and his voice eager.

"She said that you can feel each other emotionally or physically at extreme moments in their life, but it doesn't always happen. It's kind of random."

"That's stupid."

"Yeah."

"Like you."

"Hah."

"It's no fun if you don't fight back, asshole."

"I know."

"Fucker."

"She wants to meet you by the way. You'll have to be on your best behavior."

"Why you telling me that like I'm some damn child?"

"She watched you during sports festival, shit head."

"Fuck." That means she had seen him yell at her unconscious son. He really would have to be on his best behavior. If her powers were anything like Todoroki's she could easily freeze him and take him out if she wanted to.

"It was a joke stupid, relax. Mom's very kind and excited to meet you. There's not much you could have done to upset her considering-"

Todoroki doesn't finish his sentence, but Bakugou knows he's referring to the origin of his scar.

"I wasn't fucking nervous, shit brain."

"Sure, ass."

After some silence Todoroki decides to go back to the soulmate information his mom talked with him about. "Come to think of it though my interest in Midoriya started during our battle trials, your battle trial specifically." Todoroki sat up on the bed in thought, "I really felt like crushing him, and my hands were so fucking sweaty for some reason. Maybe that was me feeling your struggle."

Bakugou sits up with Todoroki now and sighs, "You're really only figuring that out now, dumbass? What did you think was happening? Puberty?"

"I thought it was his quirk that was getting to me. Since it's so similar to All Might's, and-" before Todoroki can get to Endeavor and his whole life story again, Bakugou silences him.

"Yeah. I got it. Your fucking father."

"Yeah, my shitty old man. Anyways, I can't believe your obsession with Midoriya rubbed off on me."

"Say that again and I'll kick your ass."

"Midoriya did help me out a lot though."

Bakugou knows this, and he's bitter about it, but also thankful. He would never admit it out loud though. Now Bakugou and Todoroki didn't have to go through with as much pain in their hearts. Todoroki's heart still went through the intense burning, but they weren't nearly as often as before. Plus, knowing that he had someone there with him made it more bearable. Guess that stupid Deku was good for something, he thinks.

"Midoriya's pretty great, huh?" Todoroki says teasingly.

"Shut the fuck up. Go date him if you like him so much."

"Nah," Todoroki mumbles while inching his chin into Bakugou's neck and pulling him in close again. "You're the one that feels perfect in my arms."

"Fuckin' cheesy bastard."

They stayed like that savoring the warmth of each other's bodies for a good while before Bakugou spoke up again.

"One day I'll beat you for real Todoroki, and you'll use your shitty flames on me." Right when Bakugou finished his sentence Todoroki passionately pressed his lips to Bakugou's.

Bakugou felt like he was melting into Todoroki, he strokes his fingers through his boyfriends soft beautiful hair.

Once they break apart Bakugou regains his composure, "I was talking, fuck munch."

"I'm pretty sure you were done."

"Yeah, but I wanted a fucking reply." Bakugou pouts, even though he's sure Todoroki answered him while they were kissing. He wanted his answer to be spoken face to face.

"I won't lose to you, Bakugou." Todoroki says with a small grin of determination.

Bakugou gives him a big grin back from that answer, and Todoroki's beautiful smile. Bakugou pounces Todoroki so that they're laying down on the bed again and kisses his lips like he's never done it before.

Todoroki's heart and body were completely warm in this moment. His heart was on fire, but not from pain. This time it flourished with love and resolve.

Notes:

I hope I did the todobakus justice. The title is from a song which is from a movie called LOL. It's super cheesy and doesn't really fit todobaku but whatever. Thank you for reading and please tell me what you thought!
