Chapter Text
Jungkook manages to jump into the subway the second before the doors shut and almost knocks over the poor girl in front of him. There is enough space only to take a small breath and grab the nearest handrail over the head of the said girl that is already eyeing him suspiciously. However, considering how this day has been going, he can call it a success.
The rhythm of a big city was overwhelming already and all of his days here were hectic (and there weren’t that many of those), but today was especially challenging. Not only it was the first day in his life (probably not the first, but he is allowed to be a little dramatic today) when he didn’t hear all of his 4 alarms, but also managed to spill his americano all over his brand-new backpack and had an argument with his roommate over the mess in their shared room.
Luckily, he finally gets into the right classroom on time and plops himself down on one of the last free seats in the front row, waiting for the lecture to begin. It wasn’t long since he left the family den, but this new adult and independent life was already taking a toll on him. He couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that many people live their whole life in big cities like this one, where it's so easy to get lost, where you almost never see the same face twice in the crowd. And when he first thought of leaving the small town he was from to pursue his dream, he didn't even consider that loneliness can be a problem on his path.
But he was there, in the university of his dream, soon to be doing things that he dreamed of since he was a little boy. So maybe all of this was worth it in the end. No one said that one shitty day means that all of his days here will be like this. He just needed to move on and hope for the best, like his grandma always told him.
***
The purple light on the wall in front of him that was pouring from a small window signalized that the day was nearing its end. Somewhere in the depths of this ancient building freshmen were listening to the last lecture that they had today, and Jungkook theoretically had to be sitting with them. However, in reality he was sitting on the floor with his hands holding his head and looking at wall in front of him. On the right side there was a fence with a sign "No entry" and different kinds of demolition waste behind it. On the other side there was one of the many corridors that led to nowhere apparently, because it seemed like this place was built as a labyrinth for naive freshmen to get lost on the first day and to be eaten by the local creature.
"Hey, is everything alright?"
A careful soothing voice interrupts his little existential crisis, but it's not it that catches Jungkook's attention, but the lack of smell that comes with the voice. He focuses on the intruder and judging by a quiet chuckle not as discretely as he hoped to sniffs the air one more time, hoping to find out who was in front of him, but it's all pointless. It seems that this person is using a scent blocker, which is not that unusual, but a little expensive for most of the students.
"No, I don't think so. But it's okay."
His voice sounds a little hopeless, but he tries to act as nonchalant as possible, shrugging his shoulders slightly, like all he dreamed his whole life about was to sit on a dusty floor in the middle of nowhere. The pride that came with his natural status wasn't letting him admit that he needed someone's help, so if he had to sit there for few more hours, then that's how it was going to be.
"Is there any chance that you got lost?" The stranger continues to ignore his words and crouches down near him, while Jungkook tries to guess the length of the man's legs that seemed too long and pretty to exist from his point of view. His cheeks turn a pretty shade of pink as soon as the man moves closer, putting his hand on his knee carefully, like Jungkook was a scared animal that could run away at any moment. "There is nothing to be embarrassed of, it takes a lot of time for many freshmen to get used to out uni"
Franky Jungkook knew that there was no point in further attempts to lie, cause his distressed scent was speaking for himself, so he just silently nodded not make a more fool of himself in front of his guy. He didn't believe it was possible, but up close this stranger looked even more handsome with his adorable dimples on both cheeks that appeared with a friendly smile and round glasses sitting too low on the bridge of his nose, making Jungkook want to move them up on their legal place.
"Okay, cutie, let me help you find your way out. I can't leave a damsel in distress all alone"
As soon as the stranger notices the shy nod, he jumps back to his feet, extending a hand to help Jungkook get up as well with a wider smile than before. The action is nice and in any other situation Jungkook would shrug it off, but the circumstances make him want to fight for the last bits of his pride, so he narrows his eyes challengingly and gets up on his own, holding back a growl that tries to leave him. He is an alpha after all and he won't tolerate such disrespect even from the person that wants to help him, so only the fact that this person seems to be older than him makes him tone down his discontentment.
"I am Namjoon, by the way, and I suppose I am your hyung." Namjoon, as he now knows, seems to read Jungkook as an open book, but still pretends nothing happened, smiling friendly to him, and simply walks to the corridor that the young alpha was too hopeless to try, clearly knowing his way here.
He doesn't reveal his second gender though, so Kook tries to guess it on his own, supposing he is either a beta or an alpha, considering his previous dominant actions. Of course, he didn't think that omegas can't be dominant as well, but from his experience they aren't usually that cocky when someone is obviously struggling, as their instincts make them rather protective and almost motherly over the person in need, when alphas won't lose the chance to fight for their superiority and betas simply don't care that much and can let themselves to be a little playful.
"Jungkook. I mean, I'm Jungkook. Freshmen" He shutters over his words, realizing he was quite for a few long minutes too caught up in his own thoughts over the mysterious handsome stranger. "And thank you for your help. I need to be at my last lecture for today, but after the misery of getting lost in this shithole I can't be bothered, tbh" His last words sound more like barely distinguishable mumble, because he wasn't sure he was even telling that to Namjoon or to himself, but the said man still manages to hear him and laughs melodically.
"Hey, don't call it that. Yes, the building may be falling apart and a few pieces of the ceiling may or may not fell straight on my head over the few years, but it's authentic, you know. Like little family restaurants or old book shops. These walls are full of character, you just need to get to know them"
A small laugh falls from Jungkook's lips, and he feels the tension leave his shoulders, as he lets himself relax around the other man, listening to his words. He doesn't feel threatened by him anymore, but instead a sudden wave of content and comfort washes over him, as they start a proper conversation on their way out. Namjoon tells Kook that he managed to lock himself up in the fartheres corner of the building, so it's a long walk, but the boy doesn't mind at all, enjoying the chance to have a decent conversation with someone for the first time since he left his home town. Surely he had his roommate, but with the hectic rhythm of the first days in the university they didn't have much time to catch up and get to know each other. Plus for some reason Kook is sure that he will remember this moment forever, so he doesn't want to miss a second of it.
Turns out Namjoon is in his final year of uni, and he was just on the way home from the library, where he spends most of his days now, working on his thesis. Despite his attempts to explain to the younger what exactly he was studying, Jungkook still didn't understand what his major was, but it was something about the psychology of pack dynamics and it was honestly enough for his mathematical brain. In return Kook told him all about the labs that they showed them on the guided tour that didn't help him at all to understand the scheme of this building and explained why he chose this exact programme to study chemistry even though the whole university was more biologically and medically orientated.
His parents and other conservative relatives were quite surprised by his choice of profession, but Jungkook studied his ass of to get on full scholarship in the university he chose, so he didn't care much on their opinion as the only person he depended on from now on was himself. He passionately loved chemistry throughout the high school and it wasn't uncommon for alphas to go into science, but the thing that fascinated him the most was the omega pharmacology, and apparently not many alphas were interested in that, judging by the number of alphas on his course.
Living with his older sister Jungkook was witnessing the hardships of an omega life from the first row, seeing her struggles with finding the right suppressant and birth control that didn't give awful side effects and didn't fuck up her hormones too much, and it was always shocking to him that with this level of technology progress and current medical achievements people knew so small about the fascinating omega biology, that they couldn't even make decent drugs to help them. That was the main reason he chose his current path, as he desperately wanted to change how things were right now and help with the creation of good medicine for all genders.
Jungkook was too caught up in their conversation, that he didn't even notice how they approached the main haul, until he say the statue of a scientist he didn't even know the name of that greeted everyone in front of the main entry. He looked at Namjoon with clear puzzlement in his eyes and blinked a few times coming back to the reality.
"Sorry, I can talk for hours about that," the younger alpha awkwardly scrathed the back of his head, lowering his gaze after being too excited over talking to someone who was a complete stranger a few minutes ago.
"It's alright, Kookie. Oh, sorry, is it alright, that I call you that? I hope you don't mind, you're too cute to call by the full name" Namjoon looks embarassed himself for a few seconds, but his laugh masks that well, as he comes back to his usual confidence. Jungkook wasn't the one to focus his opinions about people on the steriotypes about sub-genders, but at this point he was almost sure the man he met in the hallways was an alpha and a pretty strong one. The blush on the youngest's cheeks only proved that, as he mumbled his words.
"Of course, Namjoon-hyung... I can call you hyung, right? You told that youself, why I am even asking that. Sorry, don't mind me," he shakes his head to get proper sentences form in it and looks at Namjoon more confidentelly now, still pretending he wasn't blushing at all. "I really enjoyed talking to you, Namjoon-hyung. Can we exchange numbers, maybe? I'd like to stay in touch"
"Sure, sunshine," the man shows him one of his bright and genuine smiles and quickly adds his contact into Jungkook's phone, before ruffling the boy's hair. "Sorry, I gotta get going, or Yoonie will kill me if I'm late for dinner. Hope I'll see you soon, Kookie!"
Jungkook doesn't know how long he stands there looking at Namjoon's tall figure disappear in the crowd and clutching his phone in his hand, like someone is going to steal it from him and he can't let that happen. 'This day isn't so bad afterall,' - the boy thinks, heading out to his dorms, as he looks at a new contact named "Joonie-hyung ✨".
***
Jungkook isn't stalling. He is definitely not looking at his phone for the 10th or maybe 100th time today, opening and closing apps nervously, still not brave enough to do something. The two words and the goddamn star emoji aren't the things that he thinks about more than his new timetable and classes that he barely manages to attend, because he still doesn't know where everything is which leads to getting lost at least twice a day. He is a grown up man and if he doesn't want to text Namjoon now - or ever - it's choice.
But in reality he just isn't anything that he imagines himself to be. His stupid alpha pride and something that he never experienced before, something that makes shivers run down his spine, when he recalls the memory of the said man walking down the halls by his side on his gorgeous never ending legs, that something stops him from texting the other - supposedly - alpha, and it's as simple as that. But surely he won't admit that.
Call it intuition or the 8th sense, but Jungkook knows that they inevitably will meet again and maybe that's the thing that lets him stall a little more, trying to find his accounts on social media to prepare himself a little. Which is surely pointless, because he doesn't know shit about this man except for his year and a few very vague things about his course. Maybe deep inside Kook believed in fate and soulmates from the bedtime stories that his grandparents told him, he still believed that some people are just supposed to be in your life no matter what the circumstances are, and he believed that Namjoon was one of those.
The only thing that was casting a shadow over his self-reassuring beliefs was the thing that Namjoon mentioned briefly while leaving, he mentioned someone who he calls "Yoonie" and who will apparently be mad if he's late for dinner. He shouldn't jump to assumptions too quick, but he just couldn't get this out of his head. It's possible that the said "Yoonie" was his roommate or a friend that occasionally cooks dinner for him. But judging by the softness of the man's voice, when he said that name, and by the familiarity of the nickname itself, it was even more possible that he was talking about his loved one. Did Jungkook misread the signals?
It was too soon to talk about flirting or even something further, but it seems to him that something just clicked between the two of them, as soon as they started talking. And maybe, just maybe, there were a few phrases that could have double meaning if you looked closely, phrases that made Jungkook with his cool alpha demeanour feel the blush spread on his face.
So, the question was still the same. Should he or should he not text Namjoon?
***
"Babe, you should have seen him! He was so cute, that I wanted to squish his adorable cheeks every time he smiled at my jokes. And his smile!"
Namjoon jumps on the kitchen counter, ignoring Yoongi's mumbles about dirtying his precious kitchen with the alpha's dirty ass, and takes the spoon from the man's hands to lick it. The omega was trying out the new recipe, and he definitely didn't appreciate Joon bothering and distracting him, but the alpha always invited himself to watch, since he wasn't allowed to touch any of the sharp and hot objects. And what Yoongi was gonna do? Say no?
"You should have seen how genuine it is. Like, he was telling me something about the uni's labs and the new equipment they have, but it seems like he was talking about puppies. I've never seen anyone so excited about the centrifuge"
"Jin, can you pass me the salt? It seems like something is missing"
"Maybe it's the rosemary? The recipe says tablespoon, and I am sure your eye measuring wasn't even close"
"Hey, I know what I'm doing!.. Pass me the rosemary then"
"Guys!"
The half-hearted arguing stops and two pairs of eyes curiously turn to Namjoon, who was completely ignored by the other men before, too focused on the pot with boiling something that was supposed to be their dinner. Not that Namjoon didn't believe in their skills, but recently Yoongi decided to bring something new into their lives and it didn't always end well. But what if it wasn't him, who was able to find what was missing?
Yoongi doesn't even look away from Joon's eyes as he adds more spices into the pot straight from the little jar and leans against the counter, lazily closing the jar to put it away. He was listening after all, but it was nice to piss both Namjoon and Jin off at the same time. It kept things interesting.
"Yes, honey? The cute boy, his smile, the centrifuge. And so what?" Yoongi skilfully dodges Jin's hand that was meant to slap him on the back of his head and comes closer to Namjoon to pat his knee in a calming gesture. "It's been two days, and he still hasn't texted you. You need to move on, such things happen. Not all pretty boys wanna run after you, my love"
"But he was the first to ask for my number! He said he wanted to stay in touch." Namjoon pouts and runs his fingers through Yoongi's hair, scratching on the back of his head, like he is petting a cat. The way Yoongi leans into his hand with a ghost of a smile on his lips only proves his point. There was indeed something cat-like in the other man's aura, something healing and soothing like nothing else, that never failed to brighten his mood no matter what.
"Maybe he is just shy. Joonie can look intimidating if you don't know him well," Jin suggests easily, finally managing to slap Yoongi's ass with a spoon that he then puts in back in the pot to stir the food. "By the way, the stew is almost ready, so move your asses and set the table. Taehyungie is eating out with Jimin, so put enough only for the three of us"
"You're wrong. I am intimidating. Always," Namjoon jumps down from the counter and goes to take the plates and chopsticks for everyone, while Yoongi helps Jin to move the stew to the table and puts there other bits and pieces. Their conversation changes direction to more domestic one, as they share the events of their days, so no one notices the ping of one's mobile phone, signalizing about new incoming message.
Namjoon wraps his free arm around Yoongi's small frame tighter and sends the response, while the other man peeks are the screen, placing his head on the broad alpha's chest. He notices the message only a few hours later when the pair went to bed, but Jungkook doesn't say anything about that just like Namjoon doesn't mention the two-day delay, even thought he is pretty sure soon enough he will have the opportunity to tease Kook about it.
It isn't the first time for Namjoon to meet someone who sparks his interest almost immediately, because he always tries to look at the world with his eyes and heart wide open, which is also the reason why he is the leader of his own pack right now. He always loved people and loved to get to know them and that was a part of why he decided to study psychology: because he wanted to see the world from other people's perspectives and maybe let them see it from his own. And something in the eyes of the young alpha told him he sees the world with the same love.
However, Joon also knows that not always things work out. Some people he meets become his friends, others even packmates, and some he just has to part ways with eventually. But this time he really wanted this to work out. He and Yoongi were never bound by the old-fashioned rules and traditions when it came to relationships, and they are open to inviting more people in. Living together for 8 years makes you know each other's habits and tastes like nothing else does, so he was pretty sure that Yoongi will at least try to get to know Jungkook as well. And he wouldn't ask for more. Only time will show how things will go.
Planting a kiss on his mate's forehead, Namjoon puts away his phone and finally settles under the covers, ready to fall into Morpheus's arms. Tomorrow will be the new day, and he couldn't wait for it to come.

Chapter Text
Jungkook awkwardly plays with the strap of his backpack, standing next to the nearly three-meter high statue, and looks around one more time, even though he is pretty sure most of the classes haven't ended yet. He had a test during his last class for the day, so they were allowed to leave earlier, giving the alpha the opportunity to prepare for the meeting. He had plenty of questions to ask the older, and he couldn't wait for them to get to know each other better.
Kook didn't know why the mysterious but friendly alpha was making him feel so nervous and intimidated, even though he was an alpha himself. He was supposed to feel threatened and on edge around other mature alphas, was supposed to want to prove his status, or at least that's what his father told him. But with Namjoon it was completely different right from the start. Jungkook was indeed a little frustrated when the older alpha started treating him like his inferior and calling him a variety of nicknames, but their age difference pretty much explained it all, so it was easier for Kook to ignore that. Still, it was hard for the younger to understand his feelings fully.
"Sorry, I'm late, my class ended just now," Jungkook almost jumps on the place from the sudden appearance of a familiar voice, feeling the strong hand on his shoulder, and turns to see Namjoon with wind-ruffled hair catching his breath. Did he really run all the way here?
"Don't worry, hyung. It's me who came earlier," a small smile appears on the younger's face, as he tries not to stare at the hand that was still touching him. It seemed that the other was quite generous with all kinds of physical affection, even considering that they barely knew each other. Jungkook didn't mind though.
They headed out to the little cafe, that Hoseok - his roommate - described as the perfect place for the first date, before Jungkook threw a pillow at him, saying that it's not a date with a soft blush on his cheeks. Well, he wasn't sure, but the older didn't need to know that.
Turned out it was truly the most perfect place he could choose, so Jungkook will definitely have to thank Hoseok. It was pretty small, but very cosy, with small tables mostly for two and various plants hanging from the shelves above them. Something about this place was just screaming that it was one of those cafes run by the family, so everything was decorated and organized with extra care and love. There were already a few people working on their laptops or drinking from the mismatched cups that seemed to be like that on purpose, but it wasn't too loud, so the two newcomers could chat comfortably.
"You can order first, I wanna have look at the pastry," Namjoon nods at the counter, walking towards the glass display case, and looks so adorable with the thoughtful expression, that Jungkook barely remembers that he has to talk in order to buy something and silently opens his mouth, making the cute young woman behind the counter giggle knowingly.
"Uh... Can I please have black coffee and a ham and cheese sandwich?" he finally says, politely smiling, even though this lady laughed at him, and reaches to take out his wallet from the backpack, when a tanned hand stops him, zipping it back.
"I'll pay, don't worry. Hi, can I have a chicken sandwich, a brownie and the sweetest drink you have, please?" Namjoon easily steps forward with a confident smile and slips his credit card to the young woman.
"What? No," Jungkook looks at the older man dumbfoundedly and tries to stop him, but doesn't succeed in taking the card from his hands because the lady beats him to it. "I can pay for myself, you don't have to do that, hyung."
"Nonsense," Namjoon shakes his head and furrows his eyebrows, looking at Jungkook that was pouting without even realizing, while the woman behind the counter leans on her elbows and places her face in her hands, looking at them. "I'm older and you're a freshman. I'm pretty sure you don't have lots of spare money, cupcake"
"I'll pay the next time"
"Whatever"
"Feel free to take a sit and I will bring your order in a few minutes", the woman hands the card back to Namjoon and smiles widely before heading to pick everything that they ordered. Jungkook huffs and scrunches his nose, not liking the obvious defeat, but still looks around, trying to choose the best place.
"What about that table near the window?" He changes the topic and tilt his head to the side bird-like looking at the other alpha. They were there to have a good time and not to argue after all.
"I love it"
Namjoon is concise as always, placing a hand on Jungkook's back to push him towards the chosen place. They easily continue the conversation that they started on their way here, while their order is being prepared. Namjoon shares that he wasn't born here, but his family moved when he was around 6, so he could say he was raised as a big city boy, not really surprising the other alpha with that. Jungkook tells him how much he misses the beach and his grandparents that lived across the street in return, while Joon is nodding sympathetically, because apparently he doesn't see his family often as well, too busy with his studies.
"Here you go!" the young woman suddenly appears with their food, placing everything on the small table from an old-fashioned tray that fit the atmosphere of the place so well. "I made you strawberry milkshake, I hope you'll like it"
"I already love it" Namjoon sends her a charming smile, that makes Jungkook stare at him for a few seconds, ignoring the food even though he was obviously hungry after a long day of studying.
"Enjoy your food."
Jungkook nods a thank you, seeing her leave under the accompaniment of the old tray's rattle, and quickly turns his head with a puzzled expression, when he hears Namjoon laughing. He finally shifts his attention to the table and notices the possible reason of the other's amusement - their drinks. Namjoon's milkshake in a tall and simple jar. And his own coffee in a wide pink cup with a cat face on it. Of course, Jungkook didn't mind adorable things and even loved them, but something about this looked like the waitress was mocking him.
"I love how they choose cups for everyone based on their impression. It's very authentic," Namjoon finally says, as Jungkook chuckles awkwardly in response and takes a piece of his sandwich, coming back to their previous topic of their families. It was very nice to chat about everything and about nothing at the same time, and even though Jungkook was only beginning to get to know Namjoon, it felt like he already knew all of that and in reality was catching up with an old friend that he parted ways with a long time ago.
"Namjoon-hyung, can I ask you something? Of course, you don't have to answer, I'm just a little curious" Jungkook suddenly says, like he was preparing to ask that a long time ago, but wasn't brave enough, and Namjoon nods at him slightly warily with a full mouth of his brownie. "Why are you wearing a scent blocker? I kinda guessed that you're an alpha, and I hope I'm not misgendering you, but you never mentioned it so..."
Namjoon faces softens immediately, as he swallows the food and takes a napkin to wipe his mouth before answering.
"You're right, honestly I just forget about it all the time," he rubs the back of his neck and looks almost embarrassed, surprising Jungkook. "Well, as I told you, both of my parents are alphas and I kinda come from a strong line, so my scent can be overwhelming to many people. And I don't want to use that as an advantage, cause it's not fair. People tend to lean towards my decision subconsciously when we work in groups and just act differently around me, you know?"
"Oh" Jungkook didn't expect that answer. When omegas with strong scents usually use scent blockers to protect themselves from being harassed by assholes, Namjoon apparently uses them to protect others and avoid conflicts with other alphas. That was certainly uncommon and very respectful, but he didn't expect less from this man, to be honest. "So... You're like the super alpha, huh?"
"Shut up" Namjoon lhalf-heartedly hits Jungkook with a smile, relieved with his reaction, because part of him still expected the younger to freak out about it - not that he didn't believe in the boy, but that happened a few times and you can never be too careful. "I don't talk much about it for the same reason. Sometimes people think that I consider myself superior or something like that." Jungkook could swear that he notices sadness in the other man's eyes and nods quietly to show that he understands him. "My pack, though, isn't very pleased with my decision, cause my scent is calming to them, and they always whine about it on weekdays."
"Wait what? Your pack?"
Jungkook interrupts him, not understanding his words at all. Packs were always a fairytale for him, something that their ancestors used to have but that was no longer happening nowadays, because people no longer had to be in groups in order to survive and provide enough food for everyone. He always loved those tales though, loved the closeness and unity that his granny told him about. Pack bongs were always a sacred thing, that was valued and respected no matter what.
"My pack. I am a pack leader, yes. Why are so surprised?" Namjoon was puzzled no less that Jungkook, but for different reasons.
"Packs don't exist any more."
"No, they do. My thetis is about them and I lead one, so I'm pretty sure about it"
"But how... How is it possible? I am, I've never heard about that, not once in my life"
Namjoon is suddenly hit with a realization, quietly looking at the lost boy in front of him. He has been studying packs, their history and specificities for so long, so could he not understand Jungkook's puzzlement, now knowing about his family and the way he was brought up. He surely has head about the decreasing number of packs in the small towns and suburbs, but never actually believed in that and didn't even think that in some families pack were an ancient history.
A notification on his phone catches his attention, and Namjoon sees the time on the screen that lit up, suddenly rushing to get up.
"Oh god, I have a lecture in like 10 minutes, so I have to go, Kookie" He comes closer to still confused boy and ruffles his hair affectionally. "I had a great time today. And I will tell you more about packs, just not right now, deal?"
"Yeah, sure," Jungkook shakes his head to focus on Namjoon's words and sends a small smile to the alpha. "I had a great time too, hyung"
"Bye-bye! I'll text you," Namjoon barely avoids his face meeting with an opening door that he was almost running towards, as he waved goodbye. Jungkook looked at the empty cups in front of him and finished his now cold coffee, far gone into his own thoughts.
Packs. That was something new.
***
Jungkook's view of the world was turned upside down, and he couldn't stop thinking about Namjoon's words, that were dropped so easily and carelessly, like it's not a big deal. He has a pack. For Jungkook, it is a big deal. From his point of view, packs have this special magic in them, a bong that connects wolves for life and makes them closer than just relatives or friends. So it wasn't that big of a surprise that he was curious.
Surely, he knew the basics, he wasn't a pup after all. Every pack has a chosen leader, a respected alpha, that makes most of the decisions related to their lives in general - like distributing the resources equally or solving conflicts between pack mates. He has heard that in some packs people even had to ask for the pack alpha's permission to mate with someone, but he wasn't sure if it was true. However, all his knowledge was mainly about packs that lived in the forests and villages a long time ago, so it was hard to apply that knowledge to modern days and imagine how pack life looks right now.
Jungkook tried googling that, but all the results were either history of packs or some deep psychological shit that Namjoon apparently studies at the university. Of course, he could always ask the older alpha about it, but he wanted to have that conversation in real life and not through texts, but apparently Namjoon was very busy these days, judging by rarity of him being online recently. Plus, Jungkook himself had a lot of homework to do and a few tests to prepare for, even though it's his first weeks. It was frustrating, but that's how life is sometimes.
Kicking off his shoes near the door, Jungkook takes a quick look of their dorm and breathes in the mix of citruses and fresh cut grass in the air. Their mixed scents weirdly calmed him down every time he entered the dorm, as they reminded him of the way his room smelled every summer back in the family house, when his dad mowed the lawn. It was soothing to have even a piece of home here, because it seemed that Jungkook was still struggling with getting used to living on his own.
The dorm that he was living in was not that big, but it was enough for Jungkook, considering that they had their own little kitchen and a shared bathroom. Simple wooden furniture matched really well with the white walls, and even though their dinner table threatened to collapse every time someone put more than one plate on it, their beds were just fine, and that's what Kook honestly needed the most with his new hectic life. That, and a few more blankets: recently he noticed himself rolling in bed that felt too big and cold at night, so he was sure a couple of fluffy blankets on his sides will fix this problem.
Jungkook was busy with research for a paper that he has due on Monday the whole evening, so he isn't surprised to find Hoseok already in his bed, watching YouTube videos on his laptop, and just lifts one hand in greeting. Dropping his backpack somewhere near his desk, he quickly changes into oversized pyjama t-shirt and shorts and gets into his own bed as well, done with being productive for today.
Living with Hoseok was nice overall. As the time passed and the pressure of the first days subdued, they started talking more and got to know each other better. Kook knew that Hoseok was on his last year, just like Namjoon, and he was studying sociology. Their timetables were completely different, but they still managed to schedule who was cooking dinner on what day of the week to make it easier for both of them to have at least one proper meal a day. It was also good that despite the fact that the two of them appeared to share an interest in video games, they still easily agreed on respecting the other's usual study hours and being quite during them. The alpha couldn't even dream of a better roommate.
Jungkook opens his browser on the phone and sees one of the articles that he was trying to find at least some information in earlier, and an idea pops in his head. Hoseok mentioned something about living here for the most of his life, unlike Jungkook, so he has to know at least something about packs.
"Hyung, hyung, hyung," Jungkook eagerly says, throwing one of the pillows at Hoseok to get his attention. Both of them were free, so he could bother the beta for a bit.
"Yah, what do you want, you brat?" Hoseok looks at him with fake offence written on his face, throwing the pillow back to him, and takes out the headphones, stopping the video on the screen. Jungkook hesitates for a few seconds, not really knowing how to form his general not understanding of life in a question, but then decides to try to be honest.
"Remember Namjoon-hyung I told you about?" he sits on the bed and continues, seeing Hoseok nod. "Well when we went out to have lunch together, he mentioned that he is a leader of a pack. And honestly I never knew packs even existed. No one in my home town ever mentioned being in a pack, so I kinda assumed there were ancient history. Did you know about them growing up?"
Jungkook sees the same puzzlement appear on Hoseok's face that he saw on Namjoon's one before and comes to the conclusion that in fact many people have that knowledge. But why no one told him that then?
"Yeah, I mean, I grew up in a pack." Hoseok says as a matter of fact and furrows his eyebrows, not believing in Jungkook's words. "Didn't you? I thought every pup has a family pack, before joining their own one."
Jungkook shakes his head silently and bites his lip in thought.
"No. I mean, I lived with my family and the relatives were always nearby, cause the town is small and everyone knows everyone, but no one ever called it a pack. And we never acted like one, even though I don't really know how you do that."
Hoseok sits as well, carefully listening to Jungkook that was mumbling at this point, and nods his head sympathetically. That was the thing that he liked about the beta the most so far: even though Kook usually saw the playful and easy-going side of his hyung, he always paid attention to the younger's words, whenever he told something serious, and responded accordingly.
"If you want, I can tell you some stuff about my family pack. Honestly, every pack is different, but maybe it will help you understand all of it better?" Hoseok suggested with a shrug of his shoulders, as Jungkook nodded eagerly and placed his chin on his hands, getting ready to listen. "Okay, so it wasn't really a big pack, like we had only 5 members: my parents, me and my siblings..."
Jungkook doesn't take his eyes of Hoseok even for a second, listening to his story like he is listening to one of his granny's fairy tales, and tries to absorb the new information like a sponge. However, to Kook's dissatisfaction, there isn't really much new stuff, only the same things he knew already, but in a more modern form. Most of the things the beta told him were just family traditions, that he had in his own family as well, but the dynamics were a little different, as in Hoseok's family pack they were more synched and noticed and understood each other's moods better
However, thanks to Hoseok, Jungkook had a slightly better understanding of a situation now, but he still felt like he was missing out on a huge part of his culture his whole life. He still didn't know much about packs that people had as adults, those that were of choice, and Hoseok couldn't help him with that, because he wasn't in one either.
Later, when their conversation dies out, Jungkook thanks Hoseok for the tenth time this night and gets under his blanket, still sorting out all the new knowledge in his head. He notices a new notification on his lock screen and unlocks the phone to read the message that Namjoon sent him an hour ago.
"Jungkook will come!" Namjoon shouts out loud, so that the whole family will hear him, even those who are snuggling in beds right now. He already discussed the possibility with the pack and made sure everyone is alright with inviting someone on their pack night.
They didn't have them that often, but Namjoon made sure to throw one of those every time any of the pack mates needed to unwind and bond with others, and this time it was mainly for their lead omega. Yoongi's heat started earlier than he predicted, throwing their plans for the next few days out of the window, and that's partly why Namjoon was so busy and couldn't even respond to Jungkook properly these days: on top of taking care of his omega he still had a lot of schoolwork to do. At least professors didn't look much at seniors' attendance, so he could work from home.
Surely others were also doing their best to help him and took turns looking after Yoongi and making sure he eats enough, but it was still exhausting. And knowing how cranky and whiny his mate gets in post-heat, Namjoon was sure that a small party was very much needed for everyone to cheer up. Plus, they get to meet Jungkook and vice versa. The alpha was sure the pack will like the boy, and he will like them back.
"Mhm, I was falling asleep and your loud ass scream woke me up," Taehyung mumbles into Namjoon's hoodie and hugs him tighter, nuzzling the alpha's clothed chest to leave his own rainy scent there, as Joon chuckles pulling the man closer. Some people may say that he is a bad alpha for his mate, leaving him all alone in heat, to cuddle with someone else's mate, but those people know nothing about his pack. Namjoon's instincts could be screaming to go to his mate, but Yoongi told him many times that he very much needed some alone time just as Joon needed to recharge and make sure other pack mates are going alright. He couldn't imagine leaving them unsupervised, not because he didn't trust them, but because he needed to be sure in everyone's well-being.
Which is exactly what happened today: when Yoongi kicked his ass out of their room, Taehyung seemed to appear out of nowhere, smelling of distress, and asked for cuddles. It was clear that something was bothering the omega, but Namjoon didn't push and instead let his scent wrap around them, petting Tae's hair gently. Knowing him it could be something minor from simply missing Jin, who was working long-hours now at his new position of a sous-chef at the restaurant, to something more serious like problems at work, that Yoongi mentioned to Joon a few times before. However the alpha knew, that if Tae really needed help, he would ask for it, so Namjoon didn't let himself overthink things and just enjoyed the quality time. Moreover, soon his pillow princess will wake up, asking for attention, and he won't have the sweet opportuninuty of doing nothing anymore.

I hope y'all got the joke of Yoongi being the pillow princess (it is a joke, yes).

Chapter 3
Summary:
Pack night
Notes:
It was a hard chapter for me to write because not only Jungkook gets overwhelmed around so many strangers. Please bear with me if it's not descriptive enough in some moments, but I was trying to show everything from Jungkook's perspective.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Jungkook looks at his phone one more time, comparing the flat number with the one that Namjoon texted him earlier, and hesitates to press the doorbell, taking a few slow breaths to calm himself. Surely he had almost half a week to prepare for this night, not without Hoseok's help by the way, but it was still a little scary. He is an alpha, but is also a rather shy person, so jumping into a completely new company is a big step for him, especially when he knows almost no one there. The only things that Jungkook was able to get from Namjoon were that he has three packmates at the moment - Yoongi, Seokjin and Taehyung - and one packmate-to-be, Jimin, that was also going to join them today. According to him, it's no fun if Namjoon will tell the younger alpha everything, and he should see for himself.
Noticing the laugher from behind the door and some quiet music playing with his enhanced wolf hearing, Jungkook presses the bell and hears the footsteps approaching. He runs a hand through his hair to at least try to make himself more presentable the last moment before the door opens, revealing an unknown face behind it. A rather handsome unknown face that is smiling friendly to him, he must say.
"You must be Jungkook! Come on in," a stranger says welcomingly, stepping aside to let the alpha inside and closes the door behind him, while Jungkook looks around a little dumbfoundedly.
"Hi, yes," he finally manages to remember how to speak and politely lowers his head in a bow. "Thank you for inviting me."
"Such a polite boy," the stranger coos, patting Jungkook's shoulder, and laughs, going further into a flat. "But you can drop the formalities, it's alright. The pizza will arrive soon, so let's introduce you to everyone, shall we?"
Jungkook looks at the stranger with puzzlement written on his face, since the said man didn't even introduce himself. Trying to be as discreet as possible, the alpha decides to figure out at least some information about the man, sniffing the air carefully. He is a beta, that's for sure, but Kook can't pinpoint his exact scent, since there are too many of those in the air, but he can tell it's a floral one for sure.
"Jinnie, was that pizza?" another unknown voice shouts from the living room, where apparently they were headed. So that is Seokjin, nice to know.
"Nah, better," Seokjin says with a smile, entering the room with Kook following him like a shadow, and turns to push the alpha inside by his shoulder encouragingly, while the younger looks at the rather huge room wide-eyed, like a doe.
It was hard to describe the living room with precise adjectives, but every corner and every little thing were screaming home to him for some reason. It looked like someone put a lot of love and care into decorating the space, making sure there is everything that you may need to relax, no matter what that means for you: it had everything from countless books to the newest game console near the TV. Most of the floor was covered in furry and soft-looking blankets and rags, and on top of those there was one wide couch accompanied by a couple of the biggest beanbags Jungkook has ever seen.
Four couples of eyes turn to him, making the alpha blink slowly, focusing not on the cosiness of the room, but on the people in it, while Jin goes to join Namjoon and an unknown man on the couch, jumping on his lap. Jungkook finally realizes that it's his turn to say something, so he quickly bows one more time.
"Nice to meet you all and thank you for inviting me once again."
"Told ya, he is the cutest little thing ever," Namjoon says proudly and pats the place near him, when Jungkook raises up from his bow, blushing furiously from so much attention. "Come here, cupcake."
Shyly nodding, Jungkook sits on the couch and tenses even more, scrunching his nose in discomfort. He has quite a sensitive nose, so being this close to group of people in a room that carries their scent itself overwhelms him. Apparently others notice his struggle and decide it's better to stay quiet for a few moments, letting the alpha get used to being in a new place, which he is not doing a great job at, starting to panic slightly.
A strong hand grips his nape out of nowhere, making Jungkook flinch, and starts massaging it slowly, but he doesn't try to get rid of the grip as it miraculously helps him to calm down. The action is so soothing and familiar, reminding him of his childhood, that he just lets himself sink into the feeling. The alpha turns his head a little to see that it's in fact Namjoon, that is smiling sympathetically now, and relaxes even more into the touch.
"It's alright, dear. Entering a pack's den can be hard," Namjoon says in a gentle voice, not stopping the small massage. Jungkook blushes more, as now he is even more in the spotlight, overreacting to the smell like a pup, and covers his face with his hands from the embarrassment, leaning forward. A great first impression indeed.
"Sorry, I have a sensitive nose..." he mumbles quietly and tries to take a few deep slow breaths through his mouth, hoping it will help.
"That's a good idea, breathe through your mouth. I know you're curious, but it'll be better like that," a soft voice joins the conversation, and Jungkook peeks through his fingers at the person speaking to him. "And Namjoon is right, I struggled my first time as well. There is nothing to feel sorry or ashamed for. I'm Jimin, by the way, nice to meet you too."
Relaxing more and more with every second, Jungkook finally raises his head from his hands and the first people that his gaze falls on are the two cuddling in the beanbag, one of which was giving him advice just now. He noticed them before, but he didn't get the chance to pay much attention. The beanbag looked pretty cosy, but it seemed that it wasn't enough for the two of them, as it was covered in blankets, that were laid down in circle around the two men. How could he not realize that it was a nest? Which means that the two men are omegas, and Jimin is the omega that was in the process of joining the pack.
"Thank you, Jimin-ssi," he politely smiles and sits straight, still slowly breathing through his mouth. He tries to look as calm as he can, because he remembers that omegas are rather sensitive to distressed scents, similar to one he was probably releasing before, and he doesn't want to make people in this room more worried.
"You can call me hyung, dear," Jimin giggles and hugs the man in his arms tighter. The other omega stays quiet the whole time, but his eyes are focused on Jungkook, showing his concern silently, and it strangely soothes the alpha. It is nice to know that they don't see in him a burden that is ruining their pack night.
"Well, actually everyone in this room is 'hyung' to you," Namjoon says, as he lets go of Jungkook's nape, content enough with the way the younger calmed down. "You're the baby here."
"I'm not a baby," Jungkook responds immediately with a pout, slapping Namjoon's hand, as it is not the first time they bicker about it and his alpha's pride still doesn't let him admit that maybe Namjoon is right.
"Your adorable pout says otherwise," a small giggle comes from somewhere behind Namjoon and a head peaks out from Jin's shoulder, when both alpha's turn their heads towards the sound. Jungkook wants to continue arguing, but he doesn't know the man's name, so he shuts his already opened mouth, thinking it will be too rude. "And since Namjoon doesn't want to introduce his amazing packmates, I'm Taehyung, this is Jin on my lap and the grumpy cat that is cuddling Minnie in the nest is Yoongi."
"That's hyung to you too, brat," two offended voices say at the same time, and Jungkook figures out they belong to Jin and Yoongi, that apparently have the same argument over and over as well, lecturing the younger one on respect. He lets out a soft giggle, looking at their interactions and feels more at ease, seeing them act as they usually do apparently.
The doorbell interrupts something that seems to be a rather heated conversation, and Jin slides from Taehyung's lap on the couch, pushing him on the floor.
"Go and bring out precious pizza, that's your punishment for the disrespect," he says, as Taehyung gets up with a sigh and narrows his eyes at him, leaving the room.
"I can always run away with it"
"I know where you live, dumbass."
"Taehyungie, you're forgiven, just please come back with my pizza."
Yoongi shouts after Jin and sighs, mumbling something indistinctly, while Jimin pets his hair gently. It seems that all the packmates are quite affectionate, which explains Namjoon's behaviour more, and Jungkook wonders if it's like that in all packs, because his own family wasn't quite like that and maybe that's why. Surely he got his fair share of cuddles, when he was little, but as he grew older that was happening less often, as his father was sure it was not appropriate for a growing alpha to be pampered too much.
While Jin and Namjoon start chatting about something related to the alpha's recent studies, Jungkook uses the time to look the omegas, as he was always fascinated with their dynamics. He never in his life viewed them as weak or inferior in any way - it was quite the opposite. How can anyone think less of them, when they can bring peace to your soul in a way that other sub-genders can't and when they are capable of so many truly wonderful things, such as childbirth for example. Jungkook was truly fascinated.
Yoongi's curious gaze suddenly meets with Jungkook's one and the alpha quickly looks away, feeling the blush spread on his cheeks from being caught staring. He doesn't want to appear creepy, but something about this man seems to catch his attention, making it harder for him to look away and switch to something else. When Jimin reminded Kook of his sister, who was a rather confident and easy-going omega, Yoongi was harder to figure out. He didn't look shy or timid, but he didn't initiate conversations as well. He clearly preffered to distance himself in his safe space on the night a stranger was going to come to his home, and that is understandable, but he didn't act cold and indifferent either.
"I'm back!" Taehyung announces, entering the room with 5 carboard boxes of pizza, and dramatically bows to everyone after putting them on the coffee table. "No need to thank your saviour, just feast, my brothers."
Jungkook doesn't stop the giggle falling from his lips and Taehying playfully winks at him, opening the first box, as the others move closer to the table as well.
"I'd eat you, if you didn't bring my baby, "Yoongi rolls his eyes and doesn't even move from his cosy place, unlike Jimin, who was already putting a few slices on a small plate. Jungkook reaches to take one as well, but Yoongi's voice interrupts him.
"Jungkookie, could you pass me the pineapple one, please. The whole box."
Kook stops slowly turning to look at the man incrediously and remembers Namjoon's words, who already predicted this happening. The said man chuckles near him and passes Jungkook the box, that he mechanically gives to Yoongi, still looking at him sceptically. He wasn't the one to judge people a lot, but it didn't apply to people, who liked pineapple pizza.
"How can you like that?"
After putting a few pepperoni slices on his own plate, Jungkook finally gets brave enough to ask, looking at the omega biting into a slice of pizza and almost purring from happiness. Yoongi stops munching, as everyone in the room gets quiet all of a sudden, and looks up from his precious pizza at the alpha. Kook feels a sudden urge to start praying for his life but nothing comes.
"How can you not like it?" Yoongi asks him instead with a full mouth of food and curls more into one of his blankets by Jimin's side, almost making the alpha coo at the adorable picture. He definitely expected the man to react worse, but judging by the calmness of the other's voice, it seems like he decided to spare his life today.
"It's just wrong. Fruits don't belong on savory food."
"Have you tried it?"
"No, but-"
"Then you don't have a say in this," Yoongi interrupts him with a cat-like smile, shrugging his shoulders, as Jimin snickers near him, curiously listening to their conversation, just like everyone else in the room. "You can't judge something if you never tried it."
"Okay. Can I have a bite?"
Jungkook says without thinking much with a challenge in his voice and moves closer on the couch to the omega's nest. If he has to taste it to have the right judge, then it will be that. Yoongi raises one eyebrow but still extends his hand that was holding a slice towards Jungkook, who leans closer and quickly takes a bite just like that, making sure there are both pineapple and chicken on it for the sake of the experiment.
"I can't believe you actually did that." Jin says even more incrediously than Jungkook did earlier, as the said alpha keeps a straight face, chewing the food, like it's not a big deal.
"So it was that easy?" Taehyung exclaims, almost jumping on his feet to point his finger at Yoongi accusingly. "You. You made me keep quiet all those years about your horrendous tastes, when all I had to do is try it? Let me have a bite and I will tell you everything I think about you."
Taehyung rushes towards the nest, but Namjoon's strong arms grab him across the waist, not letting him get to Yoongi, as the man desperatelly tries to get out of the grip, looking like he will claw out the omega's face with his bare hands. Jungkook forgets to swallow for a few seconds, looking at the scene in front of him, but then a sudden realisation hits him, making his face turn pale.
"Taehyung, let him live for once, you know he is tired-"
"Nah, it was a unique offer. Y'all don't deserve my precious-"
"It's not bad." Jungkook interrupts both Namjoon's and Yoongi's words, while Taehyung stills in Namjoon's arms, turning his head to look at the alpha, that was still trying to process the collapse of his most strongers beliefs himself.
"What?"
"It's not bad. I mean, it adds a bit of freshness to the taste." Jungkook shrugs his shoulders and takes the slice that Yoongi suggests him with a devilish smile, looking at Taehyung triumphantly. He actually can't believe he is defending the thing that he hated all of his life, but he can't say it's bad either. The alpha takes one more bite and decides to tease Taehyung, that was now released by Namjoon, continuing his review. "Honestly, it reminds me of teriyaki sause a little, cause it's also sweet and savory."
Yoongi's quiet laugh is the first thing that breaks the silence after Jungkook's words and is soon followed by Jin's loud one, until everyone is giggling in some degree, except for Taehyung, of course, who comes back to his place on Jin's lap, calling all of them "traitors". Jungkook and Yoongi's eye meet for a few seconds, like they share some kind of a secret, before the alpha turns to listen to Namjoon, who decided to explain him the situation properly.
Apparently, no one in the pack before dared to actually have a bite and no one got an invitation to do so, and that's why it was a non-negotiatable topic in their household until now. Yoongi shares a few more slices with Jungkook, explaining to the younger that he never permitted any of them to do so and that is why it's their loss, and comes back into the comfort of Jimin's embrase, adding with a smirk that no one is still allowed to shame him. This becomes another breaking point for Taehyung, who starts arguing that such ignorant behaviour is the reason monarchies fall and that Yoongi should watch his back from now on, till Jin intevenes and shuts him down with a slice of pizza.
Jungkook quietly listens to everyone chat - if you can call it a chat - and smiles to himself. He thought it will be hard for him to join them today, because they were a pack and he was a stranger to them, but everyone has been more than welcoming so far and it was easy for them to get along. They felt like a family, but they didn't make him feel like an outsider. His eyes meet Namjoon's, and he can read a clear "told you" in them, making the younger giggle quietly.
***
"So, Jungkook," Taehyung starts lazily, as he crawls over Jin to sit next to Namjoon and lean on his shoulder with his elbow. The pizza was gladly destroyed only a few minutes ago, as they all chatted comfortably, and the alpha forgot that he was actually invited not only to hang out with them but also to know more about pack first-hand a long time ago. "Namjoon told us you wanted to know more about packs."
Jungkook nods eagerly, still munching on a crust that he was stealing from Namjoon who apparently was not only pineapple pizza hater but also not a crust eater. If Kook wasn't so whipped for the man, he'd rethink his choices about his social circle.
"My granny told me fairytales about packs that live in the forest and hunt together, but that's all," he shrugged his shoulders and looked at Taehyung, continuing with a sigh. "I asked my roommate about it as well, but he knows only about family packs and it wasn't that helpful."
"To me, it's pretty much the same," Jin joins the conversation, placing his chin on Taehyung's shoulder and nips on his neck playfully before explaining himself. It seemed like all of them really liked to be touching each other in any way, and Jungkook found it endearing. "The only difference is that we chose our family."
"The family you were born in can be a pain in the ass," Jimin speaks up from the nest, playing with Yoongi's hair lazily, as the other omega nods to his words, with his head on the other man's lap.
It made sense to Jungkook, because he was pretty sure he wouldn't want to be in the pack with his parents for the rest of his life. It was no doubt he loved them, but most of the time there were too old-fashioned for his liking, and he didn't want that influence to constantly be around him.
"If you have any questions, ask away. It's as familiar as breathing to us, so we can't really tell much on our own," Namjoon adds carefully, and the younger alpha furrows his eyebrows, trying to remember things he wanted to clear up, but non come to his mind.
"But if packs are so common, why haven't I heard of them before? Why didn't we have them in my home town?"
"Me and hyung didn't know about them either!" Taehyung answers his question earlier than Jungkook can finish, and the younger is left wondering which hyung he was talking about. "There wasn't such thing in our home town as well, but there was that one transfer kid at school, and he told us all about it."
"What Taehyung is saying is that it's actually pretty common for small towns not to have packs at all," Namjoon joins in with a smile, turning to look at Jungkook, and starts gesticulating enthusiastically. "I've heard about it but only briefly. The thing is that in small tows people are already pretty close, they live in big family houses and know their neighbours and hang out with them, but you just can't do it in the huge metropolises. People are more scattered."
"So... you're saying there are packs here, cause people feel lonely?" Jungkook asks, tilting his head to the side, and looks at the people around him, letting this information sink in. It makes sense if you think about it, but it's still a lot to process.
"Wolves are pack animals, cupcake." The person Jungkook didn't expect to speak up and certainly to use the nickname says, and the alpha turns his head towards the nest. After spending some time around them he could notice that Yoongi looked tired and this could explain both the nesting and the quietness, so Kook just assumed he will stay away from the conversation. "We need to be around others, we need to feel protected and supported. As simple as that."
"Oh. Okay, but are there like certain rules and a system in the pack?"
"Kinda?" Namjoon says with a questioning voice and rubs the back of his neck, not really knowing how to start. "It's different for every pack. I try not to establish too many of those and make sure they are focused on keeping everyone healthy and safe. I don't want to cross anyone's personal boundaries, you know. I'm the leader, but we have more of a democracy and everyone has a say in important stuff."
"But don't think it's like that everywhere, bun," Seokjin speaks up with a downhearted expression. "Some packs are very strict and old-fashioned and base their rules on stupid stereotypes. I almost got in one of those, but luckily I smelled bullshit quick enough to get out."
Jungkook doesn't say anything, but he understands what Jin is talking about like no one else. That's how his own family is, and he was lucky to have internet and enough brain to understand that something was wrong with the way they live, starting from omegas being not allowed to eat till all the alphas at the table took the first bite and ending with his drunk dad explaining how to choose "the best" omega, judging by their obedience around him. An uncomfortable shiver goes down the alpha's spine as he remembers all those things, but keeps a straight face.
"Oh! And we're all allowed to cuddle and scent each other!" Taehyung suddenly exclaims, both startling and puzzling Jungkook, which was apparently written on his face, because Taehyung continues with a smile. "In some packs it's prohibited for alpha, for example, to even touch a mated omega, because they can accidentally leave their scent on them."
"What? But it's so dumb. Omegas aren't property, you can't just deprive them of affection." Jungkook furrows his eyebrows, listening to Taehyung and not believing what he hears. He's read about cases when omegas started to develop mental health issues in the past because of situations like the one Tae was describing, and it infuriated the alpha that such things were still happening. "It's essential for their well-being to feel connected to people they care about. That's inhumane"
"You know about that?" Namjoon's surprise is written on his face, when he asks Jungkook that, but the alpha only smiles smugly and pokes the older in the shoulder with his fist.
"Well, I'm going to study omega biology and phycology soon, did you forgot already? But also I've just been reading a lot about this stuff, cause it's interesting, you know."
"Ugh, scientists."
Taehyung scrunches his nose, making both alphas let out a displeased and offended sound, and sticks his tongue out in response. The topic changes to finding out the superior field of knowledge with Taehyung on the arts side and Namjoon on the science side, leaving others to laugh at their confrontation. Jungkook decides to stay away for a bit, because he is only making his first steps in the big world of professions, and just listens instead.
Suddenly an idea pops up in his head, as he remembers that he has been trying to breathe through his mouth the whole time, just like Jimin told him to. Nothing bad will happen if he'll try again, right? Jungkook takes one last deep breath and then carefully sniffs the air around him a bit, not noticing how the omega side of the room has their eyes on him. The smell is still overwhelming, but the alpha makes sure not to take deep breaths from now on and focuses on distinguishing the exact scents, until one a rather strong one catches his attention. It reminds him of gingerbread cookies, but then an underlying note of alcohol appears in it, and Jungkook opens his eyes wide in realization. Mulled wine. The one that his parents made every winder holidays. And there is only one person that it can belong to, but he has to check, just to be sure.
"What are you doing?" Namjoon's voice sounds weirdly concerned and strained in a completely quiet room, and Jungkook finally realizes the position he was in. He didn't even notice how he leaned closer to the other alpha and started sniffing him with enthusiasm. Muffled giggles appear somewhere behind him, and he assumes that everyone's eyes are on him again.
"Uh... Sorry! I was just curious to figure out everyone's scents... And then I noticed yours and I-"
A wide smile appears on Namjoon's face, revealing two adorable dimples and making Jungkook trip over his own words, as the laugher behind him becomes louder and more obvious. The alpha blushes furiously and moves away from the older, looking down in embarrassment.
"Mulled wine, but I think you figured out that bit already," Namjoon chuckles and ruffles Jungkook's hair affectionately. "And to make it easier for you-"
"Don't tell him!" Jimin quickly interrupts the pack alpha and almost falls out of the beanbag, moving closer to them like he was going to shut him up by force. "You should have seen his face when he tried to figure out it himself..."
"Yeah, it was so adorable."
Yoongi adds in with an audible smile in his voice, and Jungkook turns to look at him with a shocked "Et tu, Brute?" expression. He wanted to argue more, but it was too late as now he wasn't focusing too much on his breathing and unknown scents filled his nose. The fresh and spice and sweet scents circled around him, but it was hard to pick one.
"Who smells like strawberry... and peaches?" Jungkook finally says, looking puzzled, as the two omegas laugh again, accompanied by the other's giggles.
"The peaches one is mine, peaches and star anise to be precise. But I know it's hard to figure out with Namjoon stinking up this place with his spicy mix." Jimin says with a smirk and wraps his hand around Yoongi's neck. "And the strawberry is this one's."
Jungkook lets out a quiet "oh", as Yoongi wrestles out of the other omega's grip with a displeased face before curling up in his nest alone. The sight makes the alpha's heart skip a beat for a second, but he tries not to show it too much. He will have a lot to think about on his way home.
"It's strawberry and banana, you brat. And stop torturing the baby alpha, he won't ever guess Jin-hyung and Tae-Tae's one."
As soon as Yoongi says those words it suddenly becomes clear as day for Jungkook, and he takes a deep breath, not caring about overwhelming himself any more to taste the sweet scent. Someone once told him that a scent describes a person more than anything, so maybe Yoongi's true nature was as soft and gentle as a strawberry smoothie? Only the time will show.
"I'm not a baby alpha," Jungkook comes back to reality, trying to pay attention to Yoongi's words, and pouts involuntary.
"It's cherry blossom and rain."
Yoongi decides to just ignore him, but Jungkook is too curious to start an argument, sniffing the air some more. Jimin was right: it was hard to sense anything but spices around Namjoon, but he could distinguish a pieced of described notes around it. In fact, he didn't even mind. After Namjoon's explanation, Jungkook expected him to have a really strong and aggressive scent and was afraid it will be hard to be around him without a scent blocker, but it was quiet the opposite. His scent was deep and sharp, but it was also very cosy and home-like, and the younger alpha actually liked it a lot.
While Jungkook is caught in his own thoughts, Seokjin starts explaining to him that it must be fate that his and his mate's scents fit so well together. Turns out, their first date was on a rainy day in spring, and he may or may not have planned it this way only to say that corny phrase. Jungkook also finds out that the way Jin asked Taehyung out was notable as well, as he wrote his number on Taehyung's plate with a sauce, when he was still working as a waiter in a café.
The conversation slowly drifts off again, until someone notices the time on the clock and Jungkook gets ready to leave. The moment he announces that, Taehyung dramatically clings onto him and starts quoting some play that the alpha doesn't know, trying to persuade him to stay the night and not offend them by his unspeakable decision, but Kook insists on leaving, thinking that he already overstepped their hospitality.
To his surprise, almost everyone makes sure to hug him and tell him they were glad to meet him, and even Yoongi gets up from his nest, still wrapped up in one of the blankets like a burrito, to wave him goodbye while Jungkook puts his shoes on. And like it wasn't enough to melt his already very mushy heart, right before Jungkook leaves Namjoon catches him in a long hug and almost raises the alpha from the ground, squishing him too hard in his arms and making the younger giggle shyly.
***
"I like him," Yoongi says shortly the moment the door shuts behind Jungkook and looks up at Namjoon with a small smile.
"You do?"
Namjoon's face lights up, as he mirrors the other's smile and wraps his arms around his tiny mate. He was kinds nervous the whole evening, worrying whether his pack and Yoongi especially will like the young alpha, even though a part of him was completely sure there isn't a heart that the boy won't melt.
Others leave the hallway, mumbling about something about disgustingly sweet couples, but the omega ignored them and just nods, standing on his tiptoes to kiss Joon gently. He and Namjoon agreed on not showing the fact that they are a couple for now, so that they won't scare the boy away and will let him get to know both of them separately. It already happened to them once that someone was more interested in trying things out with a couple than in their personalities, and Jungkook didn't look like someone who would do that, but they wanted to go slow anyway.
And to be honest, Yoongi was a little sceptical about the whole thing and especially about inviting a stranger to his precious den - their den, but he is allowed to say that since he is the lead omega. But the young alpha managed to surprise him with his sincerity and genuineness. There was something about the boy that was making it easy to trust him, and Yoongi couldn't wait to get to know him more.
Maybe Namjoon was right and Jungkook was the one. They could only hope he felt the same about them.

Chapter 4
Notes:
IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Yes, you're not mistaken, this is chapter 4 (which consists of ex-chapters 7 and 8), because i rearranged the chapters. I didn't add anything new, I didn't delete anything, just re-did how they look.
So from now on chapters will be posted each two days (i hope), because i want them to be a little bigger.
Also this chapter is a little all over the place cause there are little moments that happen in a week or two. Both Namjoon and Yoongi text Jungkook a lot during that time, but that part is behind the curtain. They flirt, talk about life and share memes, you know.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
"Hyung, where are you?" Jimin invites himself in with a key that he got not long time ago, when Namjoon officially asked him to join their pack, and shouts to figure out where Yoongi was.
"Kitchen."
The answer is short as usual, and Jimin takes off his shoes before heading out in that direction. His initiation was nearing, and they needed to plan a few things beforehand, one of which was the pack tattoo. Unlike some other packs that didn't take things much seriously, every one of them agreed on getting a symbolic tattoo that showed their belonging to this exact pack. Jimin was told that they chose one element that had to be the same collectively - in their case it was a tree - but every member had the opportunity to design their own tattoo with Yoongi's help.
When the omega enters the kitchen he is met with a rather interesting sight: Yoongi in an oversized t-shirt that probably belonged to one of the packmates, sitting on a barstool, and a kitchen island that was completely covered in paper. It wasn't hard to guess that all of those papers were sketches and designs for his tattoo, but it felt like the lead omega went a little overboard.
"What. Is that?" Jimin finally asks, coming closer, and instinctively puts his hand on the small of the other man's back, as the said man raises his head with a puzzled expression. His probably still bed hair was sticking in every direction, making him look even more adorable that usually.
"What? Ah, you mean this?" Yoongi turns to have a look at the mess he created on the table and shrugs his shoulders, looking back at the omega. "That's not even much, Jiminie, you should have seen preparations for Taehyung's tattoo... I had to re-do his like 20 times"
"Yeah, that sounds like Tae," Jimin giggles and ruffles Yoongi's hair more, leaning closer to the table to peak at the designs, but the older immediately covers everything with his hands to stop Jimin from looking too early.
"No-no, you don't get to do that yet. This is what I had in mind for you, but before that you have to look at everything else." Yoongi slides down from his chair on the floor and takes Jimin's hand to lead him to the other side of the table. His t-shirt raises up more, revealing more of the older omega's tattoos that always attracted everyone's attention. "Those are some of the sketches that I had to draw for the guys, maybe you will like something or just get inspired on the general direction we should go in."
Jimin's eyes light up with excitement, as he starts going through the sketches, trying to guess which one was who's, while Yoongi tells him the right answers with a soft smile. Tattoos were something deeply personal and intimate for Jimin, because you had to make a difficult decision on what you're going to have on your body for the rest of your life, so surely he was curious to peak at everyone's choices and thoughts, in a way. Plus Yoongi reassured the omega that it was alright and the guys didn't mind him looking at all of that.
Slowly they went through the most of them and after Yoongi made Jimin describe in details what he had in mind himself, he was allowed to have a look at the older's suggestions. The boy happily grabbed the papers and froze, when he saw the first one in the pile.
"This. Hyung, this is the one." Jimin turns to look at Yoongi with wide eyes and shows him the sketch, while the other looks at him with a puzzled expression.
"Are you sure? Don't you want to look at other ones-"
"No, I'm sure. That's exactly what I wanted, hyung." Jimin interrupts him, not letting the man to even finish the sentence, and stands his ground, looking at the design one more time.
"Okay, okay," Yoongi laughs endearingly and starts putting everything in one pile, and Jimin joins him, picking up the sketches more carefully than the other. "I thought it will take more time with you, but alright. Help me tidy up before Jin-hyung wakes up."
"Too late, love," another voice announces with a yawn, entering the kitchen with a rather displeased face. The beta is wrapped in a fancy silk dressing gown, making the rest looking underdressed, including Jimin, who was definitely dressed more appropriately than Yoongi. "Yoonie, baby, what I told you about working in the kitchen?"
"That I have a perfectly equipped room for that and that these stools are bad for my back," Yoongi mumbles the words like he had to repeat them more than once and lowers his head with guilt, fully aware of the fact that the older was right.
Jimin will never get used to the way others - except for Jin, of course, as it was pretty much expected - bossed around the second oldest member of the pack. Of course, he never even doubted their respect for the lead omega, but the way they all babied him was still hard to get used to. Even though Yoongi looked like a fluffy and soft kitten most of the time, Jimin had seen himself how this man could stand his ground and put anyone in their place without hesitation.
"Yes, and I need to have my breakfast and I can't, because you, my love, took all the space," Jin continues the soft scolding, but still comes closer to Yoongi to leave a gentle kiss on his forehead, before heading out to the coffee machine and turning it on.
"Bullshit, we're almost done," Yoongi takes the last pieces of paper and stacks them on the huge pile. Jimin highly doubts he will manage to get this to his room without losing a few on the way, but he doesn't dare to intervene, when he sees the other's grumpy posture.
"It's almost 2 PM, Jin-hyung, so it's not a breakfast."
Jimin mockingly points out, jumping on one of the stools, and half-lies on the counter, looking at the beta, who still looked pretty sleepy, making toasts. It felt so domestic to watch them do something so simple around the house, and he couldn't wait to become a part of it. Surely he already was spending a lot of time in the pack house, but that didn't mean he can't treasure these little moments.
"Breakfast can be anytime if you just woke up, don't argue with elders, you little brat." Jin glares at him expressively over the edge of his cup and puts his plate on the other side of the island, sitting down. His face softened as he took the first bite of his toast, and he continues more peacefully now. "I had a late shift yesterday, because of some big event, so I'm allowed to sleep as much as I want on my day off."
"Where is my phone?" Yoongi shouts from somewhere in the flat, followed by the rustling noises, but Seokjin only snickers into his coffee, taking the said phone from the table to shamelessly scroll through notifications on the screen.
"It's here, hyung," Jimin answers for the beta and looks at him curiously, before changing the topic. "Where are Joonie and Tae by the way?" He knew they had a little erasable board with everyone's schedules on the fridge, but he never figured out how to understand anything there.
"Class. And what the fuck are you doing?" Yoongi rushes to Jin as soon as he enters the kitchen and sees the man, trying to grab his phone, but the older raises his hand over the omega's head with a smirk and continues reading the texts.
"Ohh, Jungkookie says he likes the playlist you sent him," Seokjin continues teasing the smaller man, but finally takes mercy on him and lets Yoongi take his phone, who is now clutching it to his chest protectively, as the blush spreads on his pale cheeks. "You made him a playlist, Yoonie? Are you that whipped already?"
"Shut up." He mumbles and gives him a dirty look, unlocking his phone to read the messages himself, while Jimin reaches across the table to steal a piece of toast from Jin, curiously listening to their conversation. "He runs every morning before class, so I made him one for that."
"Where did you get his number, I wanna chat with the baby alpha too." Jimin pouts, feeling left out. The nickname was originally created by Namjoon, but it stuck, so all of them started calling Jungkook like that after meeting him themselves and getting their proof that he was in fact a baby.
"Namjoon," Yoongi shrugs, typing in a message enthusiastically, but then pays attention to the second part of the other omega's words and narrows his eyes at Jimin, looking weirdly protective. Maybe Jin was right with his conclusion, after all.
"Don't worry, hyung, I'm not gonna steal your man," Jimin laughs and stands up to cuddle the older to reassure him, while Yoongi quickly locks his phone again, allowing to be cuddled. "He is not my type, anyway. I don't like alphas much, even such adorable ones."
"Why are you even making a fuss about that? Taehyung has been chatting with him since the pack night." Seokjin wonders with a knowing smile, while Yoongi looks at him with a completely clueless expression and sighs, admitting his defeat, even though there wasn't even a competition.
"Alright... I'll send it to you. But don't bother him at 3 am, like you do with me! The boy needs to sleep properly."
Yoongi looks at Jimin seriously and points a finger at him in a threatening gesture, while he and Jin coo and laugh at his protectiveness, making the omega blush even more. It was clear as day that not only Namjoon was making advances on the younger, but Yoongi too, so everyone in the household made sure to tease the couple at least once the day. Surely everyone was happy that the pair found someone that both of them were interested in, and it was interesting to see how things were progressing.
Finally, Yoongi has enough and announces that "he is leaving their annoying asses forever" with a huff, going to his and Namjoon's room. He wasn't really offended and more flustered than anything, but he wanted to chat with the boy peacefully, without any comments from the others.
They continue chatting about Yoongi's job for a while, and Yoongi tells him that he did a lot of his own tattoos as well, because he needed to practice when he was only starting and because he just likes to be covered in ink of course. Some people may not expect it from him, because he is an omega, which is total bullshit, but among them all he was covered in tattoos the most. The second after him was Namjoon, who had a black sleeve and was planning on doing his legs as well, but didn't have the time.
Turns out, Jungkook didn't even know both of them had tattoo, because it just happened that all the times they met they were covered with clothes, so he was very excited to see them himself. Which brigthened Yoongi's mood a lot.
Namjoon and he decided that it will be damaging for whatever they are starting with Jungkook to continue hiding the fact that they are mated at this point, so Yoongi made sure to drop the bomb the first day he and the alpha started texting. That was a big step, because both of them were afraid that Jungkook will freak out and maybe even chicken out of talking to them. It's not like their conversations were heavily suggesting, but there was some flirting from both sides, and they didn't want to push the topic of possible relationship too early.
Surprisingly, Jungkook took the news pretty calmly - from their point of view - even though his responses were a little delayed, and even asked how long they were together, slowly moving the conversation towards discussing their past. He didn't say anything, when Yoongi added that they are in fact polyamorous, but their conversations didn't become weird or strained either, so he took that as a good sign. Maybe Jungkook needed the time to process everything and think about whether he even wanted to go down this road, but they still were chatting comfortably, and that's what was important.
***
To say that Jungkook was freaking out, was to say nothing. It's been a little more than a week since the pack night that he was very kindly invited to, and from his perspective things escalated pretty quickly. The first one to get his phone number from Namjoon was Taehyung with a proposition to become friends, that was gladly accepted: surely he liked everyone in the pack, but Tae seemed like a person that he will easily get along with. They've been texting almost non-stop since then, as it turned out that the omega - as he figured out later - was one of those people who loved the world so much that they were excited to share even a pretty leaf that they saw on the way somewhere.
What was more surprising though, is that the second person to text him was Yoongi. After meeting the small hyung, Jungkook was completely fascinated by him, and he thought he only could hope to talk more to him, as he seemed like a reserved person. Turned out, Yoongi was rather blunt with his words and announced from the start that he wanted to get to know the younger better, following by some other news that were a lot harder to process. The omega told him that he and Namjoon are in fact mated and that they weren't usually very open about this information, because they were polyamorous.
The alpha remembers very clearly the exact moment, when he read that message and choked on the cereal that he was stealing from Hoseok as a midnight snack. From the subtle flirting that was going on and from the way Namjoon never mentioned that he is in a committed relationship, Jungkook assumed that they were just packmates, even though he had a few doubts about the two of them in the beginning. But Yoongi also said that they are polyamorous, which is a thing that he is not familiar with himself, but he surely has heard enough to have a general picture in his head.
Did that mean that they could be interested in him in that way? Or did they want to be just friends? These two questions never left his mind since then, but he still did his best at keeping things casual and tried to lead the conversation somewhere else. However, despite the fact that Jungkook was still pretty confused and lost in where this was all going, it was easy to hit it off with Yoongi, and he genuinely enjoyed talking not only to Namjoon, but to his mate as well now.
***
"So this is where you live, huh?"
Jungkook places one hand under his chin and nonchalantly watches Jimin circle around his dorm and pick up random things that were lying around. The omega was bored so invited himself over under the promise of bringing some fried chicken, and who was Kook to refuse such offer?
"You're on Hoseok's side, please don't touch his stuff," he rolls over on his back and now watches the other's figure upside down. "And do I hear judgement in your voice? Haven't you lived in the dorms yourself?"
Jimin quickly puts down the book that he was holding and comes back to Jungkook's bed, jumping to sit on it, while the owner of the bed leans on his elbows, looking curiously at the man that suddenly looked shy.
"No, I didn't actually. I moved here not long time ago, because I graduated from the dance academy in my home town and then came here to work. So I didn't go to uni." Jimin says, looking down, like it's something to be ashamed of, and Jungkook pokes his thigh, making the man look at him.
"So what? I'm pretty sure you're already great at your job, and that's what matters. And that you love it. You do, right?" Jungkook smiles at Jimin and places his head on the omega's knees, looking curiously at him. The question was almost rhetorical, considering how much the other usually talked about his job and showed videos of his kids - not his, but the ones he was teaching - learning a new dance.
"I do. Did I tell you about the thing that happened today at the studio?"
The older finally agrees with the alpha's point, smiling shyly, and lights up with excitement, as Jungkook encourages him to continue by shaking his head lightly. Kook was never really a fan of skinship - well, he didn't even have the chance to be at home - but something about the sweet and delicate scent and just general aura of omega made him crave it. It was nice to simply lay there and listen to his stories, while Jimin mindlessly played with his hair.
"I hope your lazy ass cooked dinner, because I'm starving and I will pick your bones clean if you didn't." Hoseok loudly announces, as he opens the door, startling both men that were still talking comfortably on the alpha's bed, and freezes in the doorway, before narrowing his eyes at his roommate. "Oh, you didn't mention you're having someone over today. Did you forget about the sock and 24-hours notice, Jungkook?"
"No, it's not like that." The younger blushes furiously, when he understands how the two of them might look from the side, and sits up quickly to stop Hoseok from saying something else, deciding it's better to introduce everyone properly. "This is Jimin-hyung, my friend. And this is Hoseok-hyung, my roommate I told you about."
"Friend, huh?" Hoseok's expression suddenly changes, as he raises an eyebrow, looking at the omega, and Jungkook feels like he is third-wheeling something right now. Especially when Jimin graciously stands up from his bed the second after and comes closer to Hoseok, extending his hand for the handshake confidently.
"Nice to meet you"
Hoseok takes his hand and kisses the back of it instead with a smirk, lingering there for a few seconds and making Jungkook wanna leave right now, before he sees something worse. Luckily Jimin moves his hand away, smiling teasingly.
"Nice to meet you, handsome" the smile in the omega's audible, but he doesn't stop on that and continues, now talking to Jungkook, but not even bothering to move his gaze from his roommate. "You know what, I'm gonna go, Jungkookie. You boys need to eat, and I don't wanna interrupt."
Before Jungkook even can say anything, Jimin leaves the dorm, waving them both goodbye, and the moment the door shuts behind him Hoseok rushes to sit on the alpha's bed, looking at him expectantly.
"Tell me everything about him, starting from his phone number."
***
"Hi, Tae. Hi ...Kook?" Jimin's voice goes up from surprise, when he enters the living room and notices the two man sitting in the floor in front of the TV. He was meant to help Yoongi cook dinner, since other packmates were coming home late and Taehyung wasn't allowed in the kitchen to help the lead omega, so he didn't expect the younger to be there too. "Aren't you supposed to be studying for tomorrow's test?"
"Ugh, tell me something I don't know," Jungkook rolls his eyes and doesn't even stop playing, clicking buttons on the controller. He did in fact plan to study this evening, but today classes were a pain in the ass and, when Taehyung invited him to the pack house to play and unwind, he didn't have the willpower to say no.
"Male giraffes headbutt the female's bladder until she pees then tastes it to check for ovulation," Taehyung says lifelessly, not taking his eyes of the screen, while Jungkook turns to look at him bewilderedly and loses because of that, making Jimin fall on the couch from laugher.
"What the fuck, man?"
"I won!" the omega happily claps his hands and looks at Jungkook with clear puzzlement. "What? You said to tell you something you don't know. I bet you didn't know that."
"I didn't want to know that. Like ever."
"Kookie? What are you doing here?" Yoongi enters the room with a wide yawn and looks around, not understanding why there are so many people in his house. It looks like he woke up from his nap only a few minutes ago, which is not unusual for him, but Taehyung didn't even bother to tell Jungkook that the older was at home. "Don't you have a test tomorrow?"
Jungkook moves his gaze from Taehyung to Yoongi, ready to argue with both him and Jimin, but stops before he even opens his mouth to do so, finally looking at the other man.
Yoongi is wearing a black crop top that consists only of a stripe of cloth and two sleeves and a matching pair of booty shorts, revealing countless tattoos of different sizes that are scattered all over his body, and Jungkook feels like he had just missed a step going downstairs. Why did no one even mention that their hyung dresses up like that at home?
"Jungkookie?" Yoongi looks at him with the same sincere and innocent concern, tilting his head to the side, while Jimin giggles into his hand on the couch, watching their interaction closely. In was obvious to everyone but Yoongi, that Jungkook was checking him out, and that made things only more interesting.
"Huh?" Jungkook tries to look away from Yoongi's slender body and his tattoos that were making him want to trace everyone with his fingers, asking about their meaning or lack thereof, and tries to think hard of what he was going to say before he saw the omega, because it seemed like he was staring for too long at this point. "Oh, the test. I'm mostly ready for it, don't worry, hyung."
"Mostly? Yesterday you said you have not idea what the topic even is." Not believing him even for a second, Yoongi furrows his eyebrows and looks at the alpha sternly, making him look down from embarrassment, because Jungkook knew that the omega was right. Organic chemistry was of the easiest subjects for the alpha, and that's why he was too careless with it, which is exactly what was happening right now.
"I figured it out today, so..." he mumbles and looks up at Yoongi only to be met with his disapproving gaze. "Okay-okay, you're right. I'll go now."
Jungkook gets up from the floor with a dramatic sigh, admitting his defeat, and takes his backpack, heading out towards the exit. He doesn't expect anyone to follow him, as it's surely his not the first and not the second time here, but a gentle tug on the sleeves stops him right in front of the door. The alpha turns back and sees Yoongi, unexpectedly small when standing up next to him.
"You'll do great tomorrow. I know you will." he looks the younger in the eyes and ruffles Jungkook's hair affectionately before letting him go. "Text me when you get home."
"Thank you, hyung."
***
Finally done with all the assignments that he wanted to do beforehand to be free on the weekend, Jungkook shuts his laptop, not wanting to see it anytime soon, and grabs a bag of chips that was long forgotten on his table, going towards the bed. His muscles are a little sore from the sitting down for a long time, so he tries to stretch, munching on his snack.
Maybe Jungkook was too boring for having nothing to do and nowhere to go on a Saturday night, but it wasn't like he was a party animal to begin with, so a quiet evening with some take out that he still had to order sounded pretty nice. As far as he knew, Hoseok was on another date with Jimin, which apparently was a thing now. For some reason his roommate was rather secretive about all of this, but it was not hard to pick up bits and pieces, when Jimin didn't particularly hide how much they were going out together. And Jungkook was happy for them, but the amount of people he could hang out with was drastically decreasing.
Namjoon was out of the town, helping his family with moving into a new house, which turned out to be an amazing thing for Jungkook, because apparently Namjoon was one of those people, who send a lot of photos when they are away, so that you won't miss them, so the younger was provided with some wholesome content every few hours. Taehyung was busy with work most of the evenings this week, and that's why Jungkook just assumed, that the rest of the pack was going to spend the evening together, and didn't even bother asking others.
Jungkook is definitely not looking at the downloaded pics that Namjoon sent, when the first message from Yoongi pops up. He opens the chat and starts typing in his response, involuntarily blushing at the petname. It became a pretty frequent occurrence in their chat, along with cheesy pick-up lines in his and Namjoon's chat, and Jungkook would definitely lie if he said he didn't like that.
Jungkook re-reads the messages a few times, not actually believing in what he is seeing, and bites his lip in thought. Yoongi didn't mean that, right? It is like a friend date, because he is hungry and have no one else to invite apparently. Why would he ask him on a date, when he had Namjoon, who was literally the second best person in the world - along with Yoongi himself of course? And even if Jungkook would believe in the possibility of both of them being interested in him romantically, can he even go on a date with only Yoongi?
Distracted by all the questions in his head, Jungkook finally realizes that he still hasn't answered Yoongi, so he decides to check, if it was even what he thought it was.
The answers are being typed on their own somehow, while Jungkook is still sitting dumbfoundedly, looking at his screen. He sent his location, so there was no coming back. Of course, he wouldn't actually say no to Yoongi, but he still didn't believe that it was happening. A date. An actual date. With Yoongi. He should take a shower and get dressed, right?

Chapter Text
The road to the older's favourite restaurant, according to his own words, is pretty quiet, because the alpha is too nervous to start a small talk and Yoongi doesn't push him focusing on the road. Deciding to make the situation less awkward, Jungkook turns on one of the playlists the omega made for him through Bluetooth, and the sight of Yoongi in his adorable glasses, smiling softly, when he recognizes the playlist, and still not moving his eyes from the road, is definitely worth it, so the younger lets himself stare for a bit.
Yoongi was dressed pretty casually, wearing only a pair of black jeans and a huge hoodie, that covered half of his body, making the omega look even more adorable and tiny than usual. Everything about his outfit was saying that he didn't think twice before putting it on and heading out to eat with the alpha. And Jungkook wished he could say the same about himself, but his overthinking brain decided that if he was truly asked on a last minute date, he still should look his best. That's how after a few minutes of panicking he stopped on a grey turtle-neck and simple black pants with a classy matching coat and some makeup to finish the look.
The car pulled over near a small restaurant, that looked pretty small but cosy, and both men got out of the car quietly. Surprisingly, up to this moment the silence wasn't much awkward or tense, and it felt right to just enjoy each other's company without the unnecessary words. Nearing the door, Jungkook's gentleman side jumped in, making him open the door for Yoongi to go in first, making him let out a shy giggle. The stuff seems to recognize the older, leading them to the table in the corner and leaving quickly to let them decide.
Left alone with Yoongi, Jungkook really does his best at trying to look self-assured, like a strong alpha should, as his father always told him - and he actually knew it's dumb and stereotypical, but he can't help himself, because such things are not easy to get rid of. However, his nervousness takes over anyway, making him bite his nail in thought, looking at the menu, but not actually seeing anything, while Yoongi calls the waiter over and orders for both of them and maybe even enough to take home.
Jungkook doesn't even realize, that he actually looks like a deer in the headlights, and Yoongi can't ignore it any more, taking Jungkook's hand to move it from his mouth and stop him. The alpha looks puzzled, when he pays attention to what the omega just did and that he didn't take his hand away, holding it on the table.
"Stop. I can hear you thinking." Yoongi finally says, looking him straight in the eyes. "What's wrong? Tell me, Jungkookie, I'm not a mind-reader."
Jungkook lowers his gaze under the omega's intense one, scolding himself internally for being such a mess in front of the man that he likes. It wasn't supposed to be like that, he wasn't supposed to be the one invited on a date, and he wasn't supposed to be so nervous and anxious. No, that's wrong. There isn't such a thing as "date policy", and he shouldn't follow the toxic and meaningless rules that his family pushed in him.
But it still doesn't feel right. All that flirting that was going on was nice, but Jungkook didn't understand a thing about the situation and other's intentions, and it was a little frustrating. Surely he dated before, but it was completely different from what's doing on right now. But Yoongi was right and there was only one way to figure everything out, a scary one though: he had to talk.
"I don't... I don't understand," Jungkook finally says, looking up at Yoongi, and bites his lip in thought. He desperately wants to hold Yoongi's hand to feel more comfortable and calm, but he knows it's not the time. Not yet, at least. He had to clear everything before rushing into such intimate gestures. "Don't get me wrong, I wanna be here with you. But I don't understand what this all means and what do you want from me. Both of you."
"Silly, silly alpha." Yoongi's face softens suddenly, like he was afraid to hear from Jungkook something else, something much worse than what he just said, and he even smiles, rubbing alpha's hand with his thumb.
"It means that I like you. Joonie too, but he wanted to tell you himself. And yes, romantically, if it wasn't obvious. Why else would I ask you out?"
Jungkook swears he can hear his own heart beat faster than ever, bumping into his ribs loudly. It's not too surprising, considering recent days and all the suggestive conversations that they had, but it's still hard to believe in. It's exciting and jumpy to hear that one person likes you, but two? That's just impossible.
"But-"
"Jungkook, look at me" Yoongi's stern voice stops the thoughts in his head, making the alpha look into his eyes obediently. "We like you and we plan on asking to court you, do you understand that? We just wanted to take things slow and not overwhelm you. And also to see if we're sure. But we are now."
The waiter interrupts them by bringing in their order and Yoongi laughs quietly at Jungkook's pout, when he has to unlock their hands in order to let the man put it on the table. The food smells and looks absolutely gorgeous, but the alpha is still too nervous to eat, dealing with all the information that Yoongi dropped on him.
"Just so you know, I'm not asking you to court us right now." Yoongi says with a full mouth of lamb, biting into the small skewer, like he wasn't discussing important matters a few minutes ago, and gets Jungkook's attention back to him. He rolls his eyes, when he notices the other's thoughtful face expression and puts his hand on the table. "Come on, give me your hand."
"Your hands are greasy." Jungkook seems to snap out and scrunches his nose, looking at the omega's hand. He places his own into it with a loud sigh anyway.
"Listen to me, alright? Stop thinking. Hold my hand and eat." Yoongi's words are calm and measured, as he grips the alpha's hand harder, unintendedly releasing more of his soothing scent to calm Jungkook. "We will deal with everything later. There is no rush and you will have your chance to figure everything out, alright? But now we're on a date and I want you to enjoy it."
Jungkook carefully listens to the other's words and nods quickly, agreeing with him. He almost slips into self-loathing about ruining the date for a second, but thankfully his logic doesn't let him do that, reminding that this talk was very much needed. All of a sudden a realisation hits him, and Jungkook smiles softly to himself, holding Yoongi's hand tighter. The more he listens to his hyung, the more his respect for him grows, as he sees how mature and calm he is, solving all the problems on his way with the power of words and pushing Jungkook to do the same. And how could such an amazing man fall for a silly boy like him?
"You're right, hyung."
"Okay, now eat. Or I will eat your half."
Yoongi threatens Jungkook with a skewer, making the other laugh loudly but take one of the sticks, biting into the meat. Now when everything was at least a bit more clear, the alpha could finally let himself relax and spend the time with one of his favourite people in the world, chatting about nothing and about everything at the same time. It was always so easy to let the conversation flow on its own with Yoongi, just like it was with Namjoon every time they hanged out in the little cafe they considered their at this point, and this thought suddenly made him miss Namjoon. So this is how this whole polyamory thing works, huh?
"What is it?" Yoongi notices a weird expression on Jungkook's face and looks at him curiously.
"I miss Joonie-hyung," Jungkook answers honestly and pouts, looking at the omega, who was softly smiling at him.
"Send him a pic, I bet he'll like that."
Yoongi encourages him, knowing that Namjoon will be definitely over the moon from seeing the two of them on their little impromptu date and will make the omega tell him everything in details, when he comes back. Jungkook snaps a quick pic of Yoongi still eating and spends a few minutes texting with Namjoon, giggling softly doing that, and it makes the older wonder if this is how he usually looks, texting with him.
There were so many things he doesn't know about Jungkook yet, for example how his face usually looks in the mornings right after waking up, or who was his first crush, or if he puts milk before cereal. And he can't wait to get to know them all, one after another.
Kicking Jungkook's leg under the table, Yoongi decided to use one of his most powerful weapons and pouts, whining for the younger to get off the phone and pay attention to him. And as expected, this trick never fails him, making the younger almost slam his phone into the table, looking up at Yoongi. Those alphas were so predictable. Give them a damsel in distress, and they will do anything to please her.
"Okay, did I tell you about the time when Hoseok threw a banana at me?"

When the clocks are nearing midnight, Yoongi drops off Jungkook and quickly kisses the alpha on the cheek, telling him to text him when he gets to the dorm. If the alpha was being honest, the whole evening was kinda in blur in his head, and he feels too tired to even freak out over that kiss, mindlessly going home. It was the nicest kind of tiredness, when your whole body felt like jelly from spending too much time laughing and talking to someone you love to spend time with.
The realisation fully hits him the next morning, when he wakes up to the thought of Yoongi's soft lips gently touching his cheek and remembers all the things that happened before that.
"Did you see a ghost or something?" Hoseok walks out of the shower, rubbing his wet hair with a towel, and decides to check, because Jungkook didn't move even a little since he left to take the shower, and it was starting to get concerning at this point.
"Yoongi likes me. And Namjoon likes me apparently."
"And the sky is blue today. What's new?"
Hoseok seems completely unbothered, throwing his towel on a chair, as he sits on the bed cross-legged to listen to Jungkook's discoveries. The alpha briefly tell him the last night events, trying to emphasize the importance of them, but everything that the older hears is pretty reasonable and a bit obvious to him. The only thing that seemed to surprise him is that they were doing everything so slow.
Jungkook couldn't agree with Hoseok. Maybe it was slow for him, but he wasn't trying to date an already established couple. After Yoongi mentioned that they are polyamorous to him, the alpha spent a lot of time, reading about such type of relationships and figuring out how everything works, just to be prepared. And at first, it seemed a little difficult and complicated, but the more he read about other people's situations, the simpler it actually looked. After all it was still a relationship, and you still had to decide how you want it to look directly with your partner. The only difference is that you have more than one of those.
But was Jungkook ready for a such thing? Was he ready to manage a relationship with two people at the same time? Jealously was never one of the doubts that came to his mind, because to him it was natural to like them equally and not care about them possibly spending time without him. But what if he won't be enough? What if he will mess something up, because he is so inexperienced in that field? However, Namjoon and Yoongi were experienced and it seemed like they knew what they were doing. Maybe, if Yoongi said they were sure about him, there is a chance for this to work out?
"So, they want to date you. What's the problem?"
Hoseok pulls him out of his thoughts, looking expectantly, and Jungkook can't even imagine an answer to that question. Because there wasn't actually a problem, only his overthinking brain trying to ruin everything for him.
"I don't know"
"Do you like them? Do you want to court them?"
Hoseok continues to press, leading him towards the right way of thinking about it, and Jungkook doesn't even hesitate answering him. How can he not want that, when they are so amazing?
"Yeah, for sure"
"Then get your courting bracelets ready, alpha."
Hoseok shrugs his shoulders, getting up to come closer, and pats Jungkook's shoulder, who now is looking even more scared and lost.
Courting bracelets, right. Jungkook surely dated before, when he was in high school, but it never came to the courting phase, as they were still pretty much pups and no one was thinking about going further. Courting meant the possibility of mating, and you have to be very sure to start it, because it is the time for your wolves to bond and get used to each other. The process was usually starting with gifting some kind of a jewellery - a bracelet or a necklace - that you and your mate will wear to show your commitment.
And if he was being honest, Jungkook always has been a sap, when it came to relationships, and he always wanted to do everything old-fashionedly right, with the gifts and a lot of dates, with gentle scenting and cuddling on the couch. Finding a mate, that he could care for and be happy with for the rest of his life, was one of his biggest dreams, and to think that he was probably going to have two of those was overwhelming. He was still pretty shy of thinking about it, but if the couple was sure about courting, they certainly did consider where it was probably going.
"I've never made a courting bracelet before," Jungkook finally says, looking terrified, and follows Hoseok into the kitchen. "Hoseok-hyung, I know you already have a courting bracelet for Jimin, tell me how you did it."
Hoseok freezes for a second, still trying to look like his and Jimin's relationship was a secret and no one knew how quick they were going, but then continues pouring milk into his cereal.
"Ugh... I didn't make it?"
"Don't lie to me, I've seen the box that you're hiding it in."
"No, I mean, I literally didn't buy it, I bought it. Are you from 18th century or something? No one makes these things themselves any more, when you can buy pretty much everything."
"Huh."
Jungkook leans against the counter and takes the apple from it, throwing it into the air and catching it, as it was helping him think. He could buy them, but his own expectations for such a thing are very high, and he doesn't have the money to do so. What he can buy though is pedants to add to his bracelets.
"I need to go buy something, I'll be back soon."
Jungkook puts the apple back on the table, while Hoseok looks at him curiously from his place at the table, and rushes into the room to get dressed. His courting bracelets are going to be perfect.

"Good morning, love"
Yoongi lazily opens his eyes, squinting at the owner of the voice from the bright sun, that was falling right onto his pillow, and blindly grabs the person, pulling him closer. No one but Namjoon would dare to wake him up, so he was pretty sure it was his mate, and the spicy scent only confirmed his thoughts.
"Missed you."
Yoongi slurs in a sleepy voice and doesn't waste any time, putting his face right into the crook of Namjoon's neck, breathing the calming scent eagerly. The alpha smiles softly, as he leans over his still pretty sleepy mate. He didn't even have the time to change, almost running from the train to get to Yoongi before he wakes up to surprise him. He was actually planning to stay with his family for a bit, but the news of the omega dropping the bomb made him change his mind, and he bought the ticket to the first train to spend the Sunday at home instead.
"I missed you too, kitten."
Namjoon lets the omega scent him as much as he wants, knowing how much he loves the alpha's scent, and pets Yoongi's hair, playing with the strands. He finally gets tired of leaning on his elbows and carefully lays down, pulling the other with him, so that now he is lying on top of him.
"How was the trip?" Yoongi asks, finally raising his head to look at Namjoon, like he wasn't texting with him the whole time, demanding photos every hour. Jungkook commented on how much stuff he sends, when he is away, but little he knew it was actually a habit that Yoongi forced on him to make it more bearable for them to be away.
"As usual. Dad was making sure I am treating you like a prince and Mom was asking when she can expect grandchildren. How were you?"
The alpha shrugs his shoulders with a smile and moves his hand to caress Yoongi's check, making the omega lean into the touch with his eyes still closed and purr quietly. Sleepy Yoongi was definitely Namjoon's favourite Yoongi, because he was so adorably pliant and cuddly, that you would never want to miss seeing him like this.
The older man moves up on his chest and softly presses his lips into Namjoon's, placing his hands on his shoulders. Yoongi has always been very generous when physical affection to people that he cared about, but missing Namjoon for even a day made him crave more. He grinds his hips down, so slightly it's barely noticeable, but the alpha never misses the small signs that his omega sends him and deepens the kiss, exploring Yoongi's mouth with his tongue and gradually turning it from a sleepy and soft one into a passionate and hungry, till both of them are short on breath, gasping for air.
"Is my kitten needy?"
Namjoon asks in a mocking voice, letting his hand slip from the small of Yoongi's back lower, and grasps one of his butt cheeks possessively. How lucky he is that his omega never wears many clothes in bed, usually stopping on boxers at most. The older arches his back and lowers his head to nip on the other's neck playfully.
"Maybe."
"Tell me what do you want, baby"
Namjoon loved when Yoongi let him decide how they will spend their time in bed, but at moments like this, when they were just going with the flow, he had to make sure how far he is allowed to go. With Yoongi's sexuality such things are always fluid, and his desires may differ from time to time, depending on his mood and lots of other factors. So the only thing Namjoon can do is to be respectful of his boundaries and always ask beforehand, which, to be honest, should be a norm in every relationship.
"Want your fingers." Yoongi answers shamelessly and picks at his lip with his fingers, like he is choosing a flavour of ice cream and not deciding how they will fuck. "But I don't wanna leave you with nothing. I can suck you off?"
"Turn over."
It sounds like a question, but Namjoon takes that as plan to go and slaps Yoongi's ass lightly, smirking at him, while Yoongi smiles at him and turns on his back, still lying on top of Namjoon. He raises his hands like paws in the air and playfully looks up at his alpha over his shoulder, clearly making fun of him.
"I swear to God..." Namjoon rolls his eyes, laughing at his mates silliness, and pushes him off himself. "You know what I meant, kitten. Do as I say, or you won't get anything at all."
Yoongi barks out a proud laugh and stands up a little to move on the bed, as he was said. Surely he knew what his alpha meant, but he couldn't miss the chance to tease him a little. The omega turns so now his hands are working on undoing Namjoon's pants impatiently, while his ass is right next to the other's head in an invitation.
Namjoon doesn't waste time and, as soon as Yoongi's ass moves closer to him, he places his hand on it lazily, watching the man fight with his jeans, too eager to even try and take them off properly. It probably doesn't help that while he's doing so, Namjoon already let his boxers slide down and now is teasing the fuck out of him, caressing the sensitive skin of his thighs and ass, only slightly nearing the places that Yoongi actually wants to be touched right now.
"Stop being a tease," Yoongi whines, stopping to look up at Namjoon, who was too deep in his headspace at this point to be nice to him.
"Don't you have a better thing to do with that pretty mouth of yours?" Namjoon raises an eyebrow, looking completely unaffected, like there wasn't a tent in his own boxers right now, till Yoongi gives up, lowering his head in submission. The alpha knew that his mate wasn't a brat even in the slightest, so putting him in his place was an easy job to do.
Yoongi quickly takes his cock out of his boxers and strokes it a few times to full hardness, before wrapping his lips around the tip, only proving Namjoon's point about him being an obedient baby, while the alpha finally circles his rim that was already glistening with slick and pushes the first finger with a chuckle. The teasing was nice, but his alpha was protesting against making his mate wait, desperately wanting to make him feel good instead. What can you say, despite all his bossiness, Namjoon is weak for his baby.
The second finger joins right after the first, as Namjoon continues to leisurely move them in an out, feeling Yoongi's walls just the way he likes, and spreads them inside only to look at how the omega will whimper with the other's cock in his mouth. The older wanted to show off and tried sinking deeper and deeper, using his hands help with the part that didn't fit into the warmth of his mouth yet, but the feeling of Namjoon's long fingers was distracting him, making the omega choke earlier that he usually would have.
However, when Yoongi is sucking Namjoon's dick, he is a man on a mission, so the attempts to deep-throat his mate never end, while the alpha is enjoying the show from his perspective. Wanting to see the omega struggle a bit more, Namjoon slips in the third finger, so that the stretch will burn a little and amusedly watches how the older tries to ignore that, but inevitably fails, raising to pay attention to the tip instead, like he isn't failing, but choosing to do something more simple.
Normally, Namjoon would fluster Yoongi even more with the power of dirty talk, but something in him wants to take mercy on the poor man, so he sets a steady pace for his fingers, a bit harshly thrusting them in him, as Yoongi almost kittenly licks the tip of his cock, eager to please his alpha as well. Their game of push and pull has come to an end, and now both of them are solemnly focused on helping the other fall over the edge into pure pleasure.
"Let go, baby, come for the alpha"
Yoong is the first one to give up, when Namjoon encourages him, as he spills over the sheets, and, instead of stopping to ride out his own orgasm, the older sinks deeper and swallows around the other's cock, playing with his balls with a free hand. This becomes the last drop for the alpha, making him follow his mate, as he fills the said mate's mouth with his cum.
"Kiss me?"
Yoongi swallows everything to the last drop and looks up at Namjoon, who was still catching his breath, with pleading eyes. The alpha only nods silently and opens his arms for the cuddles, as the smaller man crawls back into his embrace to make out with his man some more, before the others wake up and will start banging on the door, because they missed the leader as well and want their portion of cuddles.
Notes:
Tell me what you think about it!
There will be more into the topic of Yoongi's sexuality further, but I thought it will be nice to include this little moment.
And there will be more polyamory negotiations, don't worry

Chapter Text
Tuesdays have been Jungkook's favourite days past few weeks, because they were days of their annual coffee dates with Namjoon - as the older alpha called them, making the younger blush. Both of them were free for an hour or so, so they never missed the opportunity to hang out. Surely they would also meet on other days, if they schedules accidentally matched due to a class being cancelled, but sadly it happened not that often.
Jungkook meets Namjoon near the statue, just like they did on their first time going to their little date - which in fact can be called one, knowing the other's intentions about him - and they start chatting about the day on their way. There is a small queue in the cafe, when they enter it, so Jungkook just continues excitedly telling the other about an article he read on the way health care system is going to change to a more all-gender-friendly one soon, but it feels like Namjoon's thoughts are somewhere else.
"Hyung, are you even listening?" The alpha pouts, looking at the older man and making him quickly turn his head back to Jungkook. He's been staring somewhere for a few minutes now and it was starting to bother the younger.
"Ah? Of course, I do. Doctors wearing scent blockers at work is indeed a life changing idea."
Namjoon easily repeats Jungkook's last sentence and puts his hand on the other alpha's back, moving him forward as soon as the customer before them finishes paying for his order. The younger furrows his eyebrows, not understanding the rush, but decides not to say anything on the matter. A lady, that turned out to be the daughter of the owner, as they got to know eventually, recognizes them easily, but still checks if their order will be the same with a bright smile.
"Yes, but can you please add marshmallows on my hot chocolate?" Jungkook politely smiles back, while the young woman types something on the screen of her computer, and turns to point a finger at Namjoon, who was getting his wallet out. "Joonie-hyung, it's my turn to pay, put that away."
Namjoon stops whatever he was doing and turns to look at Jungkook, raising an eyebrow at him, and something about the alpha's gaze and posture is so heavy, that Jungkook feels like it's better to just let him do his thing without objections. There was something very powerful and something the younger never seen in his gaze, which made him back off immediately.
"Or not. You pay and I'm gonna find a place for us to sit."
"No, stay. We'll go together."
Jungkook doesn't even have the time to make the first step, because Namjoon's fingers shortly wrap around his wrist, not letting him go. Usually this touch would feel as usual, but the older's fingers press directly on the scent glad, that was there, and he doesn't have a choice but to submit, because it's what his nature tell him to do. After Kook found out about packs, he started reading more and more scientific articles about them, and this gesture was one of the things that pack leaders usually did to calm down their packmates, making them pliant, not matter what their second-gender was.
The older alpha quickly pays for their order and only then follows very lost and confused Jungkook to one of the tables, still holding onto his hand tightly.
"What was that about? Is everything alright?" He decides to ask, when they finally sit at one of the furtherest tables and the older seems to be a lot calmer now, when they are away from other people.
"Nothing."
"Hyung."
"There was one guy that kept checking you out, it made me uncomfortable."
Namjoon's answer puzzles Jungkook only more, as the alpha starts to get all fidgety and nervous again. Was he jealous? But there wasn't a reason for that, the younger didn't even notice someone staring at him. Jungkook's quietness doesn't go unnoticed by the older, and he continues explaining.
"Don't mind me, Kookie. My rut is coming soon, so my instincts are going overboard."
Right, Jungkook couldn't smell his pre-rut on him, because of the scent-blockers, that's why this idea didn't even come to his head. Namjoon's actions still looked a little too intense and over-protective, but he already explained to him that everything was like that when it came to his wolf side.
"Are you sure you're alright? I mean, doesn't my scent agitate you more, since we're both alphas?" He can't help but wonder, when it was hugely known that alphas can get too competitive around other alphas, so he needs to know if he is making it only harder for Namjoon.
"What? No, not at all. I mean, I'm not used to being around alphas much in my pre-rut, but I know it's you, so it's easy for me. It's in fact even more calming, because I can make sure you're happy and fed myself."
Namjoon explains with a soft smile and covers his hand with his own on top of the table, which seemed to be a pretty common thing in this couple. Jungkook started suspecting that it's some kind of way to reassure someone, so he didn't mind much, quite the opposite, if he was being honest.
"So... I won't see you or Yoongi-hyung in the next few days, huh?" Jungkook decides to lighten the serious mood and wiggles his eyebrows suggestively, taking Namjoon's hand in his two ones and starts playing with his fingers mindlessly.
"I still don't understand, how you can both be such a shameless brat and get flustered from the smallest things." Namjoon shakes his head with a smile. "You won't see me, but you may actually have the chance to meet up with Yoongi, if his royal ass will be willing to leave the house."
Jungkook tilts his head to the side from puzzlement, not understanding how that can be possible. Don't all mates spend their mating cycles together? He thought it was impossible to be away from your mate at those moments, that's why professors would go easy on the couples, if they warn about their absence beforehand.
"It's not like we're inseparable during out heats and ruts, cupcake" Namjoon chuckles, looking at the adorable alpha, who knew so small, compared to him, and never failed to have more and more questions about life, even if he didn't say them out loud sometimes. "It's really not my thing to talk about, but don't worry, you'll get to know about our sex life in more details some day."
Jungkook's cheeks blush furiously from Namjoon's words, like he wasn't the one to bring up the subject, so the waitress's intervention with their orders comes pretty handy. She places Namjoon's never changing jar with a strawberry milkshake - which is now more understandable, when the younger knows everyone's scents - and Jungkook's adorable cup with hot chocolate along with some sandwiches and sweets on the table. When the first awkwardness of their little dates disappeared, the younger felt it easier to get on Namjoon's nerves by stealing bits from his plates, so now they always share everything.
"So what were you saying about changes in the health care system?..."
***
"How is he?"
Taehyung asks from his place on the couch, still cuddled up with Yoongi, as Jin enters the living room, looking like he just run a marathon, and plops himself nearby. With his own flowery scent he brings a whiff of Namjoon's spicy and heavy one, and, while Yoongi purrs softly in the younger's arms from it, Taehyung scrunches his nose and throws a scent blocker from the coffee table at him, before the older gets to open his mouth.
"No, before you say anything, spray this shit."
Seokjin sighs, too tired to pick up a fight, and sprays the air around him, while Yoongi sneezes from the fake chemical smell, pinching Taehyung.
"You know it won't help. We live together, you can't just isolate someone's scent."
"Namjoon is alright, if any of you was wondering," Seokjin says stopping the omegas' bickering and moves closer to Taehyung, ignoring his displeased face. He knew the younger was being dramatic, because no one really hated the alpha's scent during his rut, in fact it was quite the opposite, because it was too good most of the time, causing unwanted boners now and then. "He threw a tantrum when he saw me instead of Yoonie, and I barely managed to get him to eat, but in general he is alright. Needy as always."
Yoongi was very grateful, that Seokjin agreed to help them both with their cycles a long time ago. He was a beta, which made things a little easier, as he was less affected by the alpha and omega pheromones, but it's still a pretty thankless and troublesome job anyway. Yoongi knew, that it's important for mainly him to come and take care of his mate, but it was nice to have breaks from time to time.
While Yoongi was thinking about his own things, the couple on the couch decided to not waste their time and Taehyung's hand was already tangled in Jin's hair, pulling him closer for the kiss, when Yoongi looked up at them. The omega quickly unwrapps himself from Taehyung, pouting at the ruined cuddles, and moves away as far as the couch allowed, making a face.
"Ew, stop. I'm still here you know."
"Couldn't help myself. Namjoon's dumb scent." Taehyung mumbles into Seokjin's neck before coming back to marking up his skin apparently, while Seokjin smirks at the other omega with a shrug and places his hands on Taehyung's ass to pull him on his lap.
"Bullshit, you just get off on other's watching you"
Yoongi rolls his eyes and quickly leaves the room, before they start dry humping each other on their precious couch that definitely didn't deserve all of that. He decides to check up on Namjoon himself, even thought it will be pretty hard for him at this moment. He wasn't feeling like he wanted to do anything sexual right now, but there were still ways to help his mate that didn't involve him directly.
Yoongi unlocks the door and leaves the key outside, so Namjoon wouldn't steal it from him. The four of them agreed on a system for Namjoon's ruts a long time ago, because of how bad they were, and installed a door with a good lock. Everyone but Namjoon had a key to it, so he won't go running looking for Yoongi, if he wasn't with him in the room.
"How are you, my dear alpha?" Yoongi's soft voice interrupted the grunts and growls that were coming from the bed, as he sits on it's edge and runs his fingers through his mate's dump hair.
"Awful." Namjoon stops grinding his hips into the mattress and moves closer to Yoongi, placing his head on his lap to breathe in the omega's scent like it was the finest wine he could find. "But now better. Are you here to help?"
The alpha's voice is full of hope, even thought he is still mindful of asking for Yoongi's consent and what he was up to, fighting with his rut. Yoongi knew how hard it was for him, because he experiences the same battle with his instincts every heat, so he releases more of his calming pheromones into the air to soothe his alpha.
"No." Yoongi shakes his head with a sad smile and moves to the headboard to sit there, patting the place next to him. While Namjoon quickly gets up to move closer to the omega, he opens the drawer of his bedside table and takes out a fleshlight. "But I will stay with you and you can help yourself on your own, okay, alpha?"
Namjoon sighs and takes the toy, placing his head back on Yoongi's lap, as he settles on his back next to him. The squinching sounds fill the room, while Yoongi continues to massage Namjoon's head with his free hand, because the other is being pressed to his nose by the alpha to make the process at least a bit more realistic.
While the younger is busy, Yoongi decides to check up on the other younger, picking his phone up to text him. There are already a few texts, so he responds to those first and then takes a quick selfie to mess with Jungkook.
"So here I am, struggling, and you are texting with another alpha... Unbelievable."
The older doesn't even notice that Namjoon is already finished and tiredly raises up on the bed to half-sit and place his head on his omega's shoulder. His head cleared up more after a still partly unsatisfying orgasm, but it was enough for him to be able to be sarcastic.
Yoongi turns his phone more, so it will be easier for Namjoon to read their conversation, and kisses the other's forehead gently.
"The baby misses you and asks how long will you be hiding in your cave."
"Dunno, I feel like it will end tomorrow, but I'm not sure."
"I think he hopes to see you on the weekend, but is too shy to ask."
Yoongi puts away the phone and turns his head to look at the now sleepy Namjoon, that hid his face in his mate's neck, mindlessly nibbling on it. He can only imagine how many love bites will be on him after these days.
"Then invite him, what's the problem." Namjoon mumbles, already falling asleep, and Yoongi slides down, so that they will be in a more horizontal position, picking up his phone to invite the alpha over the weekend. Maybe they could even have a little sleepover? Jungkook will be head over the heels.
***
"I'm so happy you agreed to hang out, Kookie"
Taehyung jumps on him with a hug, as soon as he notices the man, startling him a little. Surely, Jungkook returns the embrace, but is quick to pull away, when he notices the overlapping scent on his skin and clothes. This heavy scent can belong to only one person, and it feels to intimate for the alpha to get to know it too soon.
"Ah, yes, Namjoon is stinking up the whole place" Taehyung notices his unreadable expression and sniffs his own sleeve to check his point. "That's why I wanted to get out. It makes everyone horny and Jin can't go any more rounds."
"No, please, stop. I really don't wanna know." Jungkook closes his ears as soon as he hears Taehyung's words, while the other man raises his eyebrows suggestively.
Taehyung was the next person to text him this evening, asking if the alpha was up for a little walk before bed, and Jungkook didn't have a reason to say no to that. He was doing better at school than he expected, so it wasn't bothersome to get all assignments done on time, which give him an opportunity to spend more time with others. When he was applying to study in this university, a lot of doubts troubled him, because he thought that it's a high league or something and it will be hard for him to keep up with others, but it wasn't, and it made him really happy. There is nothing better than succeeding at what you're doing, especially when you love with all your heart.
"So, where are we gonna go?" Finally, when Taehyung stops giggling devilishly, they get going in an unknown for Jungkook direction - pretty much because all directions were unknown for him in this city.
"Everywhere!"
Taehyung dramatically exclaims and takes Jungkook's hand easily, looking like he actually knows where they were heading. At least he knew his way around here, so he'll be able to lead them back home.
The streets are loud even though it's a pretty late time of the day and the night already took matters in it's hands, covering the city with a soothing blanket of darkness. Jungkook actually really enjoyed going on a late night walks in his town, just waking around the neighbourhood and watching starts if the sky was clear, but it felt too alone to do the same here.
Every time he left the house alone here, the unexpected need to hide somewhere small, in a building or even in his bed, was taking over him, and the night only worsened it. It felt like, when there are so many people around him, no one really mattered and one person could disappear, without others noticing it. Maybe it was just his anxiety, he wasn't sure, but this feeling was deep and strong in him, making the alpha seek the comfort of others. He was so lucky that he met Namjoon and his pack.
"So what this sleepover is about? Yoongi-hyung invited me, but I'm not sure Joonie-hyung will be alright by that time..."
Jungkook suddenly remembers, when Taehyung takes a sharp turn and leads him further into the houses, until they reach a small square park. The street lights softly lit the area, making it look cosy and almost home-like, and the alpha immediately likes the place.
"It was a last minute decision. Yoongi thought you miss Namjoon and Namjoon just said to invite you over." Taehyung shrugs his shoulders and sits on the grass near the little pong, tugging Jungkook with him.
"Wait, but he needs to rest, you don't have to do all of that just for me..." Jungkook looks conflicted, now knowing that they pack was going out of their way only because the alpha was clingy - which was true.
"We are not doing anything. Namjoon and Yoongi are."
Taehyung drops vaguely with a smirk and starts picking up at the grass, tossing it aside. The ground was a little cold for the younger's liking, but he didn't mind it at the moment, feeling more grounded.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that Yoongi made himself very clear uninviting us to this sleepover, as well as the new couple. We are having the pack night next weekend anyway, for Jiminie's initiation and his birthday. But I probably wasn't allowed to tell you all of that"
Jungkook looks up from Taehyung's fidgety hands to his face, that was solemnly focused on the task of making a grass pile in front of him, and tries to see if he was joking. They wanted to get rid of other pack mates and to see him, alone? Why would they do that? Unless...
"Are they going to ask me?.. No, they aren't, are they?" Taehyung stops, alarmed by Jungkook's distressed voice and his scent spiking up with fear. "That's not fair, I wanted to ask them first and the bracelets are not ready yet..."
"Kookie, breathe"
A soft voice interrupts his panicking one and Taehyung's hand raises up to carefully touch the back of his neck, massaging in soothing circles. Jungkook realizes that he started to spiral down and follows the omega's advice, taking a few slow and deep breaths.
"Now listen to me. I don't know what they are planning. Maybe they are going to ask, maybe not. Whatever happens, you can always say you want to wait and think, alright?" Taehyung's voice loses his usual playfulness and sounds dead serious, making an emphasis on every word, so that Jungkook will listen to him closely and understand his point. "You don't have to do anything you're not ready for."
"But I am ready" Jungkook pouts and looks into the other's eyes. "I just want to finish my bracelets to give to them."
Taehyung chuckles, shaking his head, and pulls Jungkook closer, making him lean his head on his shoulder. The hand that was earlier on his nape moves to wrap around the alpha's shoulder.
"Tell me more about them. Are you really making them yourself?.."
***
"Are you sure that's not too much?"
Namjoon asks doubtfully, attaching a huge piece of fabric that Yoongi got only God knows where to hang above their heads, touching the floor. He already made him to put a hook in the ceiling - luckily he knew how to install it since they had a similar one in their room for completely different purposes - to hold this exact fabric. The omega convinced him that this makeshift canopy is not only good for this exact occasion, but it will make their pack nights more cosy, and Namjoon couldn't really argue with him on this subject.
"It's not. Help me make it look pretty"
Yoongi was determined to make this sleepover the best thing that could happen to Jungkook, so he took all of the responsibility for preparing things for it, leaving his mate to rest. Now is the only time that he asks for Namjoon's help, because this task involves things that he can't do due to his height. Making sure the fabric hangs evenly, he puts it's edges over the furniture to cover the zone between the couch and the TV, making it look like a little tent.
"Also put the blankets inside, while I'll check up on the food in the oven, if it's not hard, love"
Namjoon sighs, but obeys, bringing in the blankets that Yoongi collected from all rooms in the house. He starts putting them inside, trying to replicate how the omega usually makes his nests, while the older disappears in the kitchen.
When he decided to invite Jungkook during his rut, he didn't think much about how important the night actually will be, because it's the first time they are hanging out together, just the three of them. Luckily his mate did and took care of everything, even if he went a little overboard with his desire to make things perfect.
Finishing up his task, Namjoon gets out of the tent and goes to check on Yoongi in the kitchen. When he enters the room, the omega is mixing the stew, adding some spices there, so he chooses not to interrupt him and quietly wraps his arms around his mate's waist, placing his chin on the other's shoulder. Yoongi doesn't even get startled by that, continuing to taste the food, but leans closer into the touch, letting out a soft purr.
"I was thinking..." Namjoon carefully starts, placing tender kisses on the omega's skin. "Maybe it's time we ask him?"
"And we weren't going to do so before?" Yoongi covers the pot with the lid and turns in Namjoon's hands, wanting to look him in the eyes with puzzled expression, even if it meant no more kisses for now.
"Well, we were going to ask him, we just didn't decide on the date..." Namjoon runs his fingers through Yoongi's hair with a soft smile, that is turning into a playful smirk slowly. This date was becoming more and more interesting.
"Then it's decided. Today."

The sleepover

A little disclaimer: I am not a specialist in tattoos or phycology, but I tried to stay as close to the truth, as I can. Please don't come at me for any inaccuracies, because this is a work of fiction, not an educational thing. I will say, that I tried to research the phycological thing that Namjoon mentions a little before putting it in.
By the way, happy pride everyone! Be careful and proud, darlings. Don't forget to spread information and donate for the BLM.

Chapter Text
When Jungkook enters the pack flat, all the lights are slightly dimmed and the soft lofi melodies are playing in the background. For some reason even the general atmosphere of this place feels cosier than ever, and the alpha lets out the breath he was unintentionally holding. He was afraid that it will be somehow awkward to hang out, just the three of them for the first time, but it turned out to be so natural he didn't even think about it much, feeling like it's one of those little café dates that he and Namjoon have or one of late night dinners with Yoongi.
Namjoon gave him a hug, but disappeared in the kitchen, when Yoongi called him, so Jungkook was left alone in the hallway to take off his shoes and a coat, which was very much needed since the autumn was becoming more and more prominent. The alpha didn't like that, used to the warmer climate, but he could do nothing about it, but to snuggle into his blankets more and wear huge hoodies. He was wearing one today as well, a pretty yellow hoodie with some black jeans on the bottom.
From what Jungkook has seen, Namjoon preferred to dress casually in his long sweatpants and a t-shirt, that seemed to be his usual home clothes, and Jungkook was already excited, because he finally had the chance to have a peak at his tattoos - he can probably ask to do so later. Yoongi's outfit is revealed to him pretty soon, when he finally enters the mouthwateringly smelling kitchen.
"Kookie! I'd hug you, but I need to finish this up"
The omega cheerfully says, chopping fresh vegetables on the kitchen counter, and Jungkook can have a proper look at him. At the other packmates told him, Yoongi really liked the lack of fabric on himself, so his revealing outfits, one of which the alpha already managed to see, were pretty often at home. Taehyung vaguely told him that even though he likes to be looked at, it's not something he does outside as well, but didn't explain why. Today Yoongi was wearing an adorable pyjama set, following the theme of their evening, with some booty shorts - again - and a cropped t-shirt that said "Let's avocuddle"
"Do you need any help?" Jungkook raises an eyebrow, looking at the suspiciously full counter, with different pots and dishes standing there. "Did you cook all of this for today?"
A dumb question, because it's obvious he did, but the alpha still couldn't believe in all of this. Yes, omegas were known for the desire to care for others that usually took the form of cooking a good meal or gifting warm clothes, but this looked a little intense.
"Nah it's alright. You can help carry the stew to the table though, I don't trust Joonie with that." Yoongi says easily, putting the diced vegetables in a bowl, while Namjoon lets out a sigh of protest from where he was setting the table.
"Don't even start, you know I will never go near your kitchen again."
"And Kookie, yes, I did it for you. You must be missing homecooked meals in your dorms, so I wanted to surprise you with it."
Jungkook can swear he notices the subtle blush spreading on Yoongi's pale cheeks, as he walks past him with a few dished in his hands, but he doesn't comment on it, walking to get the said stew, and decides to keep everything casual.
"Yah, you know I can cook right?" Jungkook places the pot on the table and tries to look offended. "I don't live of instant ramen, I promise"
"You better not be"
Namjoon threatens him with his chopsticks, before leaning to put some meat into his plate. Everyone is comfortably sat at the table, that is too big for their small group, but is probably too small for the whole pack as well, and they all start tasting everything.
"It's still not the same." Yoongi continues his thought, wiping his lips with a napkin after sucking in the noodles, which Jungkook definitely didn't stare at. "You and Hoseok are students, you cook whatever is the quickest, but that's not a proper way to make your meals. Good food needs time and love."
After that, Jungkook has really nothing to say, but the praises to the wonderful dishes he cooked, agreeing with his words. Everything about this meal said 'home', and the alpha couldn't stop thinking about those rare holidays, when all of his family was at home and no one argued, simply enjoying the time together.
They continued the dinner, light-heartedly chatting and talking about what others had missed, since it was a pretty busy week for all of them for various reasons, until everyone couldn't eat more. Jungkook volunteered to help them wash the dishes, which Yoongi couldn't say no to, looking like a proud cat that ate too much sour cream to move even a muscle, while Namjoon sat on the counter and kept him company, since he wasn't allowed to touch the dishes as well.
"Before we do snuggle, do you want to change into something more comfortable?"
Jungkook almost drops the last cup back into the sink, when Yoongi's hands wrap around him, and the said man places his chin on his shoulder. Namjoon tries to hide his snicker, but gets a splash of water anyway, jumping off the counter. They didn't mention anything about snuggling, but it seemed like it was a mandatory part of sleepovers, from the way how the omega sounded. Maybe it was a pack thing that he didn't know about.
"If you didn't bring anything, we can lend you something," Yoongi continues, since he doesn't get any answer.
"No, it's alright" Jungkook is quick to refuse the tempting offer of wearing their clothes, that carries the joint scent of the pack probably - or one of their scents in the worst case scenario. "I brought my pjs, don't worry, hyung."
"Okay, go change then, you know where the bathroom is." Namjoon smiles and ruffles his hair lightly, before taking Yoongi's hand with a smirk. "We'll be in the living room."
Visiting the flat pretty often of the course of the last weeks, Jungkook knew his way around it, even though he didn't go into most rooms, hanging out either in the living room or the spare room that soon was going to be Jimin's. Namjoon and Yoongi's room was off-limits for him, because he was sure he'll get too overwhelmed, but the omega's studio he did have the chance to visit once or twice.
It honestly surprised him how they managed to buy such a big flat with enough space even for the potential packmates, but Yoongi mentioned that Jin was from a pretty wealthy family and his and Namjoon's parents bought it for all of them together, when he was having a look around his working place. Jungkook was only allowed here, because that day Yoongi just finished a session with his client, and he was going to clean it up and sterilize everything anyway.
That's how he got to know the story behind some of the omega's tattoos, as he explained to him that in order to be doing them better you have to practice a lot. Many people practice on fruits, but Yoongi couldn't wait to work with real people, so he started with himself, using his legs. Now he covered most of the ugliest ones, but some were too funny to get rid of. That's how Jungkook also got to know that once Seokjin lost a bet to Taehyung, and they got silly matching tattoos on their asses. The omega wouldn't tell him what exactly they got, but Kook never lost the chance to tease his friend about it.
Quickly changing into his shorts, that were obviously longer than Yoongi's, and a t-shirt with a TARDIS print on it, Jungkook heads out into the living room and stops midway to the couch, shockingly looking at the tent that was hanging there. They apparently heard his footsteps, so Namjoon's head peeps out of the tent with a wide smile. The alpha doesn't even know what to think about all of this, but the older man interrupts his thoughts.
"Don't be scared, cupcake. Come on it. It's pretty cosy inside"
"What is that?"
Jungkook manages to utter and mechanically moves closer, getting under the huge white fabric. The insides of this tent look similar to how a nest should look, but he is pretty sure it isn't one, because nests were a pretty private thing and you're not supposed to be in one if you aren't very close to the omega who made it.
"A blanket fort. But better."
Yoongi smiles at him with one of his breathtakingly cute gummy smiles and Jungkook's heart melts from the sight. All the space around them is covered with blankets and pillows and there are even little fairy lights on the border of the fabric, that was hiding them from the rest of the world. Jungkook's eyes nearly water from how much effort they put into it, but he blinks quickly and stops himself from crying in front of them.
"No one ever build a blanket fort for me"
He says after a few moments and looks at the softly smiling couple with wide eyes, before Namjoon, who was sitting with his back against the couch, covered with pillows, wraps his hand around his shoulder, pulling the younger closer. Yoongi giggles and snuggles closer on the other side of the pack alpha, reaching out to pet Kook's hair, while Namjoon takes the remote and closes Youtube live with lofi beats that was on this whole time.
"You're welcome, cupcake."
Jungkook blushes from the attention and the sudden intimacy of the moment. This fort made things more comfortable and at the same time more nervous for him, but he liked how it made him feel: it was the scary excitement of something new and something big coming, that they were not rushing in, but taking slow steps into holding each other's hands. He wraps his arms around Namjoon, making sure to touch one of Yoongi's hands as well and looks up at them, now feeling more confident, even though he never participated in such cuddly sleepovers.
"What are we gonna watch?"
"I don't know. I was thinking maybe something light? Definitely no horror films" Yoongi thinks out loud and looks at Namjoon accusatory, when he gets to the point with horrors, biting his collarbone in what seems like revenge.
"Iron Man?" Jungkook speaks up shyly, to what Namjoon laughs whole-heartedly and kisses the younger alpha on the temple, because he knew for sure the other watched it too many times but never got bored of it.
"Fine with me."
Yoongi shrugs and curls into himself more after tugging a blanket over them, making sure everyone was covered, while the first scenes of the movie appear on the screen. Jungkook wishes they grabbed something to snack on, but the same moment he thinks about it Namjoon becomes a mind reader and places a bowl with chips on his lap that appeared out of nowhere, not even looking from the screen. Now the night is perfect.
***
"You deadass fell asleep, hyung."
Jungkook says in an accusatory tone and throws one of the smallest pillows at Yoongi, that was stretching with a yawn. The closing credits were slowly moving on the screen, when the alpha turned his head to look at the others only to find one of his hyungs happily snoring. Namjoon seemed to know this for some time, so he let out a laugh and shook the small figure that practically curled up on him to wake the omega up.
"I did no such thing, closing my eyes for a few seconds doesn't count as sleeping," his sleepy voice was betraying him, but Jungkook could only softly laugh at his cuteness.
Watching a film with them was such a nice experience, even thought Yoongi managed to fall asleep somewhere in the middle. He was actually the one that asked most of the questions about the plot and the universe, but when he stopped, Jungkook just assumed he got everything. He and Namjoon on the other side were quite familiar with Marvel, which resulted in them arguing about the mistakes and plot holes of the other films.
Nevertheless, Jungkook didn't try even once to let go of Namjoon and start a real argument, even though his little fanboy feelings were hurt, because no universe was worth losing the cuddles. He never would have thought he will enjoy them so much, but here he was, his face almost in the crook of Namjoon's neck, when the film had ended, and he should have let go of him by now. He lets out a yawn himself and sits properly after all, looking at the other two men.
"What now? I've never been to a sleepover, so I don't know the rules."
"Well, we-"
"Wait what? Never?"
Yoongi interrupts Namjoon, even though the man had a pretty focused look on his face, making Jungkook wonder what he was going to say. The omega's surprise makes the younger self-conscious, as he pulls his knees to his chest, wrapping his arms around himself and totally missing how Namjoon stares at his legs, when more of his muscular thighs get revealed by the raising shorts.
"Yeah... To be honest, I never actually cuddled much too. My dad doesn't approve of my mother pampering me much, because I'm an alpha and a man and I should be strong, so..."
"That's bullshit."
Jungkook has never heard Namjoon's voice being so pissed off and the angry spike in his scent doesn't make the situation better. The alcohol note in his scent is burning his nose and the younger lowers his head even more, but Yoongi notices his discomfort just on time and crawls closer to him, placing his hands on his knees.
"Hold your breath for a second, someone just doesn't know how to control their anger." the lead omega slaps Namjoon's thigh lightly, hinting him to collect himself. "What Joonie meant to say, is that we're sorry it's like that for you and that it's not the right way to raise children, no matter what their gender is. You told your family was rather strict, but we didn't expect that."
"Depriving children of parental touch leads to many problems in the adult life and results in higher incidence of having a mental illness."
Namjoon finally joins the talk and visibly tries to breathe slower, getting his emotions under control. It was slightly weird to Jungkook that he reacted this way, but if you take the fact that they apparently like him into consideration - which he still hardly believed in - it kinda made sense.
"It's not like I was deprived of touch, there was just less and less of it as I grew older"
Jungkook doesn't feel too comfortable looking so weak and vulnerable in front of them, but he knows his arguments are pointless. Namjoon was right, he did crave others' touch, and meeting this pack showed him how much he actually needed it. It seems like he was starting to get why people preferred to be in packs now.
"Jungkook-"
"Hyung." Namjoon wants to argue, but Jungkook stops him before he can even start. "I am alright now. Okay? What were you going to say before?"
"Oh."
"Come on, big alpha. Say it." Out of nowhere a blush spreads on Namjoon's cheeks, which is a rare sight for Jungkook, and a wide smirk spreads on Yoongi's face, as he nudges the alpha with an elbow in his side. Jungkook is pretty sure his face goes white, suspecting what this is all about, but he doesn't want to make any assumptions.
"Jungkook. We've been thinking a lot, and we've come to the conclusion that we both like you and would like to c-"
"No! Stop. Wait here"
Jungkook realizes what Namjoon is going to say and almost jumps from his place, leaving the puzzled couple in the fort. He rushes to get his backpack that he left in the hallway and brings it back with him, barely avoiding knocking over the whole construction. He couldn't miss his chance to be the first one to do this.
"Kookie, is everything alright?" Yoongi tentatively asks, placing a hand on Namjoon's shoulder to ground both of them. They probably were concerned and lost, afraid he wants to reject them, but it was quite the opposite.
"Yes. Sorry about that." Jungkook finally digs out a small box out of his backpack, opening it, and presents it to the two with a confident smile. "I wasn't sure if you were going to ask me to court you, but I wanted to be the first to ask that and to suggest my gifts. Namjoon-hyung, Yoongi-hyung, will you allow me to court you?"
Namjoon's eyes are wide open, when he sees the insides of the box and blinks slowly, trying to believe in what he is witnessing, while Yoongi's eyes fill with tears, as he clings onto his alpha.
There are two leather bracelets in the box, that he braided himself, and there is a small metal pedant on each of them: a tree for Namjoon and a kitten for Yoongi. It took him a while to find everything and to actually braid the bracelets, but it undoubtedly was worth it.
"No-no, hyung, don't cry." Their reaction scares Jungkook a little, not knowing if it's good or bad, and he reaches closer to take the omega's hands into his, but Yoongi is quicker, basically throwing himself at the younger and wrapping his arms around his neck. The box falls out of Kook's hands, but Namjoon picks it up, taking out the bracelets to have a closer look at them.
"Jungkookie, of course we will." Yoongi mumbles into his neck quietly, still not letting him go, and the whole moment feels surreal. Namjoon moves his gaze from the gifts in his hands to Jungkook's face and sends him one of his cutest smiles, with his dimples appearing on his cheeks.
"We will." Namjoon confirms the other's words and tugs on Yoongi's shorts with a chuckle. "Yoonie, will you let go of Kookie for a few moments? Don't you wanna try on the bracelet that he got for you?"
"I uh... Actually I made them. Myself." Jungkook speaks up, when Yoongi finally unwraps himself from him and turns to take the smaller bracelet, nearly dropping it after hearing the younger's words.
"You what?"
There are drying tears on Yoongi's cheeks, when he looks up at him, and Jungkook doesn't think twice, reaching out to wipe them off gently. His hand lingers on the older's cheek for a few extra seconds, as he caresses the skin with his thumb and smiles sheepishly.
"I always wanted to make my own courting bracelet, you know, so I found some tutorials online and ordered custom pedants. No big deal."
"How are we gonna beat that? Now our courting gift looks like trash." Namjoon mumbles quietly to Yoongi, helping him tie the bracelet on the omega's wrist, while Jungkook lets out a sound of protest.
"That's not true, hyung! Hoseokie-hyung told me that people buy them now, so it's alright. I'm just old-fashioned."
He reaches out to help Namjoon put on his bracelet as well, while Yoongi sticks his hand under the couch, looking for something there. He finally finds it and crawls closer to Jungkook, almost sitting on his lap. There is a thin rose gold bracelet in his hands, one of the those cartier ones that have a lock on them.
"No. Are you kidding me? This thing is so expensive... I can't accept it."
Jungkook opens his eyes wide, looking at them shockingly, while Yoongi completely ignores him and unlocks the bracelet, opening it.
"Shush. Look at me" the omega shuts him up quickly and grabs the younger's hand, with their eyes still locked. "Jeon Jungkook. Can we court you?"
A short nod is his only response, as the alpha is too intimidated with Yoongi's determination to say something. Namjoon continues to look at the scene amusedly from his place near the couch.
"Then you will wear it."
The omega closes the bracelet with a click and quickly locks it with a small matching rose gold screwdriver, smiling victoriously. Namjoon moves closer to dumbfounded Jungkook and takes the screwdriver from Yoongi's hands, putting it in his pocket.
"Can't run away now, cupcake."
"Who says I was going to?" Jungkook answers with a smirk and takes Namjoon's hand, filled with sudden confidence after doing what he wanted to do for a long time. He is so happy it's hard to express it fully, but anxious thoughts make their way into his brain anyway, souring his scent a little. Now the official part was over, and they were courting, but it didn't mean that everything immediately became clear to the alpha and his concerns just magically had disappeared.
"What is it?" Namjoon's voice quickly changes into a concerned one, as he pulls him closer, almost reading his thoughts, because it's something he turns out to be craving at the moment.
"I've never been in a polyamorous relationship..." Jungkook admits finally, leaning closer into Namjoon's touch, while Yoongi takes his hands with a worried frown. "I don't know how to do that right. What if- What if I mess something up?"
"Then we will discuss it and deal with it together, dear. Everyone messes up from time to time." Yoongi tightens his hands around Jungkook's ones reassuringly, while Namjoon plays with his hair. "Communication is the key."
"Don't worry, cupcake, we will talk about everything more. There is a lot of talking in such type of relationship." Namjoon joins in and chuckles. "But the difference isn't so drastic. It's the same thing that you would have with one person, but there are two of them. You still need to respect other's boundaries, communicate through problems, you know. And you already seem natural at this, judging by how you didn't freak out that we were making advances at you"
"Not true." Jungkook cuddles closer and shakes his head with a shy smile. "I just didn't show how much I was freaking out..."
Their conversation slowly moves from serious topics to sharing how the moments looked from different sides, and Jungkook finally relaxes, laughing at silly situations. It does indeed feel natural to him, liking both of them.
From what he've read on the internet one of the problems people were concerned about, stepping into polyamorous relationship is jealously, but the alpha couldn't say he was noticing it much in himself. The only feeling that could bother him, when Namjoon and Yoongi were spending time together, is the desire to join them, and that's it.
"Maybe we should move to the bedroom?" Yoongi suddenly says from his place on Namjoon's lap, as he was curled up there for a while now, yawning and joining the conversation from time to time.
Jungkook stops whatever he was telling and blushes furiously, while Namjoon coos at his reaction at pats the younger's hair.
"Don't worry, when Yoongi suggests going to bed, it means sleep most of the time."
"That's not true, I cuddle there too!"
Jungkook looks a bit lost, listening to their soft bickering, because he doesn't understand the subtext of their words, but shrugs it off, hoping some day someone will explain it to him. The fact that Yoongi used 'we' in the context of the bedroom, meaning that all of them will move there, is what was really concerning for the younger.
"Are you sure? I mean, I can go sleep in Jimin's bedroom, it's alright." He shyly rambles and looks down to avoid their gazes.
"Yep, we're positive, let's go before Yoongi falls asleep on the floor."
Namjoon stands up, tugging the omega with him and extending the arm to help Jungkook as well. They turn everything off in the living room and lead the younger into their bedroom, each holding one of his hands. He can really get used to this.
It's the first time that he actually sees their room and it turns out to be much lighter than he expected for some reason. The walls are white and there are lots of plants hanging around, but the thing that attracts attention the most is a huge bed in the middle of the room, that can easily fit the three of them. More plants - probably fake ones - are hanging from the bedposts along with light white tulle, making it look even more cosy.
They don't give the alpha the time to adjust to his surrounding and tug him into the bed with them, which is probably for the best. Yoongi makes a quick trip to the closet and takes out the third pillow for him, making space for it in between their own ones, before getting into the bed himself. Jungkook decides to follow his example and awkwardly sits in the middle, as it's apparently their place for him from now on.
The air in the room feels fresh, because they probably aired the space so Jungkook wouldn't be too overwhelmed and even changed the sheets that smelled like clean fabric softener now. And it's such a small thing, but it makes the alpha's heart melt from how much consideration and care they put in the whole organization of the evening.
"Kookie, do you mind if I take off those and will sleep in the boxers?"
Namjoon tugs at the edge of his sweatpants, giving Jungkook the chance to choose what's comfortable for him. Yoongi already mentioned to the pack alpha that he isn't comfortable sleeping in his underwear around the younger yet, but Joon really didn't like much fabric on his legs at night.
Jungkook nods quickly, visibly swallowing, because he wasn't really ready for that to be honest, but he didn't mind much either, not wanting to make it uncomfortable for the other. Trusting his decision, Namjoon smiles and gets under the blanket as well after quickly taking his pants off.
"Can I scent you? Can we-"
Yoongi's shy voice breaks the silence, while Namjoon's hands wrap around Jungkook's waist, pulling him closer. Jungkook wants to answer with one more nod, but he remembers their words about communication and speaks up instead. Verbal consent is obligatory, he knew that before, but it was still so weird to him that they asked for it even for such little things.
"Yes, I'd love that."
As he got to know from Taehyung only a few days ago, wanting to be prepared if such situations occur, scenting was a pretty common thing in the packs - it surely depended on the pack itself, but at least the lighter versions of it were always there, as it helped to calm down each other and simply maintain the sense of togetherness. But scenting between partners was a completely different thing, it was more intimate and carried more meaning to it, and he knew it even without his friend's explanations.
Namjoon is the first one to go, probably due to his higher status, poking his neck with his nose to give him heads-up and maybe the chance to take his words back. But Jungkook does no such thing and instead moves his head a little - not enough to show his submission, but to open his neck more in an invitation.
The younger doesn't see the pack alpha's smile, when he notices that small gesture, but he does notice how the other nuzzles his skin finally, leaving his spicy scent on it. Despite what Namjoon has said about his scent, up to this moment Jungkook hasn't been much affected by it, but because of the intimacy of this moment, something in him just clicks, and he gets really close to submitting, barely holding back from freaking out because of it. Luckily, Yoongi is quick to join his mate, pressing his cheek to the younger's neck, and the omega pheromones stop Jungkook from doing something he wasn't ready for yet.
The calmness and content that come with every moment of their scent lingering on his skin is breathtaking, and Jungkook immediately wants to scent them back. He is facing away from Namjoon so it's not really comfortable to reach for him, but what he can do is to dive into the crook of Yoongi's neck, returning the favour. This makes the omega to let out the cutest purr that he's ever heard and press more into younger's neck, breathing in the mixed scents.
"Yoongi, you'll get high."
Namjoon's laughing voice scolds the older from behind Jungkook, getting the other two back to the reality, and the alpha comes to his senses, carefully pushing pouting Yoongi away, because he knows the other is right. Jungkook uses this opportunity to turn and lean closer to Namjoon, scenting him as well, even though his scent feels too intense in such proximity.
"Okay-okay, I think that's enough for you too, cupcake," a soft hand runs through Jungkook's hair, softly pulling him away. "We're taking it slow, remember?"
Jungkook nods, feeling that his mind indeed was starting to get fussy from too many emotions circling thought his body, and lays down, feeling Yoong cling onto him again, like a koala.
"Sleep?" He finally asks and lets Namjoon wrap his arms around both of them, sighing peacefully. It was a long and nervous day for all of them, but it was filled with good memories, and that's what important.
"Goodnight, love."

This one is a little shorter than the last one, but it's rich in events.
I won't spoil stuff, but one of the moments is actually inspired by this work, you should check it out, if you're interested in reading more good stuff about demisexuality.

Chapter Text
Jungkook freaks out a little, when he wakes up and doesn't recognize the ceiling above him, but after a quick look around the memories of yesterday appear in his head. He was in Namjoon and Yoongi's bed. Right. With them in it. They are courting now. Right.
Yesterday it all felt natural and easy, but today he is faced with the reality of it, while being the pack alpha's little spoon. Apparently at some point in the night Yoongi drifted away from his arms and curled into a small ball, still staying close, because he didn't feel his arms around himself any more, but Namjoon was quite a cuddler for sure, holding onto him tightly.
Jungkook doesn't have the time to start fully panicking, because the older seems to sense his little movements and shifts around him, slowly opening his eyes. He pulls away a bit and looks at the younger with still sleepy eyes and his hair sticking out in different directions, and it's one of the best things he has ever seen.
"Morning," Namjoon's voice sounds a bit rough from the sleep, and he seems to keep it down, not to wake up the omega. "What time is it?"
Jungkook quietly shrugs his shoulders, because he is surely not the person to ask that, squished between the two men. He quickly turns to look behind him, but Yoongi doesn't move, so they are safe. From their numerous conversations over the phone the alpha found out that no one is allowed to disturb his sleep, if they didn't want their head bitten off.
Namjoon lies on his back and stretches his hand out to grab the phone from the night table, and Jungkook can't help but stare how his toned body moves under the t-shirt and how the muscles flex on his arms. It's really not the thoughts he should be having after an innocent first night of cuddles in their bed, but the fact that Namjoon was only in his boxers from the waist down under this blanket really didn't help, adding to the picture in his head.
"We're safe, it's past noon," Namjoon whispers to him conspiratorially and returns to his original position, placing his strong hand on Jungkook's waist that looked too tiny to his liking under it.
Suddenly Jungkook realizes how close they are, staring at his plush lips probably for too long, because after a few seconds they pull into a wide smirk, and he finally moves his gaze from them to the man's eyes. This is only worse.
"Kookie"
Namjoon's hand moves on his waist lazily, playing with the hem of his t-shirt, almost like he is teasing him, and his powerful gaze never leaves Jungkook's eyes even for a second. Well, maybe only to drop back to his lips and linger there for a few moments.
"Can I kiss you?"
"Yes, please.
He really hopes he doesn't sound too eager, when he says that, even though he probably does. Well, he was trying to imagine this moment since their first non-date at the cafe, so sue him.
Namjoon smiles at him gently, making all the tension of the moment disappear, and leans in, capturing his lips with his own. His free hand travels up to cup his cheek, pulling Jungkook closer, while he gently moves his lips against the younger's. Jungkook doesn't hesitate to answer, letting the other to control the kiss, and savours every second of it.
Neither of them tries to deepen the kiss, enjoying it just the way it is, because there were enough feelings in it already, and no one wanted to spoil it with unnecessary lust. Gentle and slow kisses were special in their own unique way, and Jungkook loved how he was starting to feel light-headed from the lack of oxygen. They part only for a few seconds to take one more breath, but then gravitate to each other once again.
He doesn't know how long they lazily make out like this, but at some point the body behind them moves and grunts unhappily, before kicking Jungkook in his shin.
"I swear to God, Namjoon. Can't you keep your hands for yourself at least while I'm sleeping?"
Jungkook blushes furiously, hearing Yoongi's grumpy voice, and hides his face on Namjoon's chest from embarrassment. He wasn't even sure if it was alright for them to kiss without involving Yoongi in some way, but if the alpha initiated it meant that it's okay, right?
"Chill, Yoonie, you're making the baby shy."
It feels even more humiliating to hear them talking like he wasn't even there, so Jungkook prefers to stay where he was, hiding from everyone, until a new pair of hands appears on his waist, while Namjoon's hands move higher, stroking his back soothingly. He should get used to so many touches.
"Awe, Jungkookie, come back. I promise I won't tease," Yoongi leans closer, pressing his chest to his back, and says softly. What Jungkook is supposed to do, when he is asked so nice? Say no?
"Is it- Is it okay, hyung? That we-"
"Shh, don't worry," Yoongi interrupts him, when Jungkook finally turns back to look at him, but doesn't manage to actually do so, letting his gaze drift somewhere else. "Remember what Joonie told you? It's like you have two separate things with each of us, so it's perfectly normal to go at different paces."
The omega smiles gently and presses a soft kiss into Jungkook's cheek. It's not hard for him to understand that the comment about different paces and the location of the kiss are subtle notes for him not to rush into things with Yoongi, and he really doesn't mind that. All the half-phrases and brief mentions didn't give him a clear idea of why Yoongi took things so slow, but he was sure they would explain everything to him at some point. He was okay going with the flow and that's what mattered.
The peace and quiet of the moment is abruptly ruined by a familiar loud voice, echoing around the flat.
"We're back!"
Namjoon lets out a dissatisfied grunt, because he hoped to continue their little make out session with Jungkook after Yoongi's explanation, but someone just had to ruin his morning, and Yoongi seems to share his thoughts, diving under the blanket completely.
"What the fuck is that?" Jin's amused voice sounds from somewhere distant - and Jungkook is ready to bet that he just entered the living room - but then what sounds like determined footsteps approach them.
"Rise and shine, lovebirds!"
Taehyung slams the door open and dramatically enters the room, starling the younger. A pillow flies across the room and hits the door behind him, because the omega manages to duck quickly, not even betting an eye, like it's not his first time. Jungkook doesn't know what would be more appropriate: to unwraps himself from Namjoon or continue like he isn't shy about this whole situation at all.
"Taehyung, what did I tell you about entering our room knocking?" Namjoon sounds tired, rubbing his temples, like it's not his first time either, but the omega completely ignores him, plopping himself on the bed with them.
"What? It's not like you were fucking."
Jungkook wants to hide even more, completely forgetting about all his alpha principles, that told him to stay confident and unfazed, but stops himself from curling into Namjoon, knowing that he will be embarrassed even more.
"That's called privacy, you ass" Yoongi gets out of his hiding and slaps giggling Taehyung on the back of his head.
"So y'all are courting now, huh?" the omega shamelessly continues to bend the narrative, moving his eyebrows, while the lead omega falls on the sheets, too tired from all of this. "Lemme look at the bracelets..."
***
The day goes on and the pack persuades Jungkook to spend the Sunday with them as well and to go home only in the evening, and how can he say no, when Yoongi's looking at him with his adorable cat eyes and tugs at his t-shirt? A wide range of pastry that Jin and Taehyung brought from the local cafe also does it's thing, making the boy agree even more easily. The breakfast that is more lunch to be honest doesn't feel tense, even though the attention drifts to the fact of them courting from time to time, but generally nothing changes, and they still are able to joke around like before.
Jungkook's shyness eventually goes away at some point of the day, but he is still hesitant on initiating something with the pair, just because he isn't sure of what he can and what he can't do. But he is alright with that. He keeps reminding himself all the things that he's read online and all the things that his hyungs told him, about their relationship being a work in progress and about letting everyone adjust and figure out other's boundaries.
They are sitting on the couch in the living room, the tent gone long ago with the help of the other packmates, who actually liked Yoongi's idea and agreed that it will be used in the future pack nights, to what the omega pointedly told Namjoon "told ya". Jungkook helped them put the numerous blankets and pillows on their rightful places with Taehyung's guidance, because the older seemed to collect all of the blankets in the house for their night. However, he wasn't able to resist the temptation and stole one of the ones that carried the scent of them three with him on the couch, when the movie marathon was suggested.
Taehyung and Jin, on the other hand, when the suggestion was announced, immediately volunteered to prepare dinner for everyone and disappeared in the kitchen, closing the door behind them. Jungkook is pretty sure Taehyung isn't doing a thing, being the second person after Namjoon that is not allowed to touch anything sharp or hot, and he is there just to escape the third-wheeling (or is the fourth-wheeling?), but he is pretty alright with that, if that means he can be disgustingly sweet without the audience teasing him.
The scenes of Captain America running away from the agents of Shield appear on the screen - if they are having a film marathon, of course that will be a Marvel one - while Jungkook moves closer to Namjoon, placing his head on the other's shoulder. The stolen blanket is wrapped around his and the pack alpha's shoulders, while Yoongi is lying across them with his head on the pillows and his legs on the other men's lap.
The younger would lie if he said that he didn't stare at his legs for the good part of the film, exploring every tattoo with his eyes and desperately wanting to trace them with his fingertips. It didn't help to stop those thoughts that Yoongi once told him he was frequently waxing his legs, so that all the tattoos will be visible. And the alpha surely agreed with him that it would be a crime to hide all of that beauty, even though he wasn't talking about the tattoos only.
And it seems like Jungkook wasn't the only one who liked the older hyung's legs, because Namjoon's hands has been comfortably lying on them for quiet a while, mindlessly caressing the soft looking skin. It looked like something that the two of them were doing on a daily basis, just because they can, from the way Yoongi didn't even notice it much and hugged his pillow tighter, fully immersed in what was going on on the screen.
At some point this becomes too distracting for the poor alpha, and he decides to speak up, because now he is in this relationship as well. And as Yoongi said, communications is the key, and he should probably ask for the other's consent before doing anything.
"Hyung," Jungkook's voice breaks mid-word, but the two pair of eyes cast on him. He realizes they don't know who is he talking to and continues, shyly playing with the hem of the blanket. This was going to be awkward. "Yoongi-hyung? Can I ask something?"
"Sure," the older shrugs and raises on his elbows to have a better look at the alpha, while the plushie cat falls from his hands on the couch. He must have noticed how hesitant Jungkook was to ask and that's why his eyes were not leaving him for a second. This was actually one of the things that the alpha liked about Yoongi the most - he could say one word and Yoongi will give him his undivided attention no matter what he was doing at the moment.
"Can I... touch your legs? I mean, I hope it doesn't sound weird, I just really like your tattoos and Namjoon has been doing that for an hour, and now I want to do it too..." He is pretty sure he is rambling at this point, but it was a strange thing to ask. It didn't help that the phrasing of his request wasn't actually the best.
A brief hesitation in Yoongi's gaze makes Jungkook wanna apologize and take back his words, but the omega silently scoots closer so that his legs will be more on the younger's lap, nodding to go ahead. He doesn't take his eyes of Jungkook, but he doesn't stop him either, patiently waiting. Namjoon puts the film on pause, observing the situation from the side and - Jungkook can swear - ready to intervene. However, the quietness of the moment doesn't seem heavy to any of them, because right now they are in their own little world, slowly getting to know each other more, and sometimes such moments don't need words.
Jungkook lets out a breath he was apparently holding and gently puts one of his hands on the other's knee, moving it towards the ankle. The omega's skin is so much softer and smoother than he expected, which makes him swallow nervously. His fingers find colourful wildflowers on the way, and the alpha starts tracing every leaf, slowly appreciating the picture that wrapped around Yoongi's calve.
Maybe he just hasn't seen many tattoos in his life up close, but it was so fascinating for him to see a picture on the skin, that will never go away, that will be with him for the rest of his life, holding a memory. Surely, he didn't think that you have to make all of your tattoos meaningful and was on the side of those who just wanted something pretty on their skin, but every tattoo still was going to hold a history about the period of life that you did it in. Yoongi's skin was a canvas, and he didn't waver to paint it all, and to Jungkook there was something truly majestic in it.
Noticing a note of excitement and pure joy in the younger's scent, Yoongi relaxes more and curiously looks at Jungkook, stealing a glance of Namjoon amusedly doing the same thing. They still couldn't get used to the way the boy looked at the world with wide eyes and appreciated beauty that other's wouldn't even notice. No wonder he became good friends with Taehyung. Those two excited puppies were more alike than they thought.
If he was being honest, Yoongi was a little nervous to add any type of physical affection in his and Jungkook's relationship, because from his perspective it eventually ended bad more often than good. What if he won't understand? The omega wasn't ready to face this possibility.
He knew Jungkook wasn't like the other ones that they tried to date - and it never actually got to the point of courting with any of them - but he still couldn't help his worries. The boy was a young alpha after all and Yoongi was a very pretty omega, so it was rather easy to imagine what sort of thoughts could be circling in his head.
While Yoongi is lost in his thoughts, Jungkook's hands travel higher, moving up to his thigh and reaching a girl beautifully wrapped in red rope that was hanging in the air upside down. He wonders how he never paid much attentions to it, because he definitely has seen this part of his body before with all the omega's revealing outfits.
This tattoo is one of the biggest he's seen on the older, and it makes him wonder what was the reasoning behind it, why Yoongi wanted to have this picture on his body. Don't get him wrong, he doesn't think that this image of the naked girl is necessarily sexual, it's actually very far away from being vulgar and is more a piece of art instead, showing the amazing thing that human body can do. But he was still curious about Yoongi's choice.
His fingers trace the rope from her neck to her legs, higher up the older's thigh, and suddenly the omega flinches, quickly moving his legs away to wrap his arms around it. The magic of the moment shatters like a glass that was hit with something heavy. Jungkook doesn't understand what he did wrong, but the scared look in the other's eyes makes the alpha in him growl at him internally, because he upset the omega. And it was the worst thing he could possibly do.
"I'm sorry."
They say at the same time, and Jungkook's facial expression changes from worry to utter puzzlement. Why Yoongi is looking so guilty, looking away from his gaze, when he is the one who messed up and it wasn't even 24 hours since they started courting. His worst anxieties are coming true.
His mind is desperately trying to find his mistake. Maybe it was the tattoo that was too intimate for Yoongi to show him and it had some powerful meaning behind it? And that's where he crossed the line.
"Why are you apologizing, Yoongi-hyung? I'm sorry if I crossed any boundaries, I didn't know this tattoo was personal, I shouldn't have asked-"
"What?" Yoongi tilts his head to the side, cutting him off, because the younger's words doesn't make any sense to him. Why is he talking about the goddamn tattoo? Jungkook didn't do anything to apologize for, it was him who overreacted, too caught up in the thoughts of their previous poly failures. "You did nothing wrong, Kookie. I was just distracted and didn't expect it."
It was true. Yoongi was so lost in the bad memories that it was too late when he realized Jungkook's hand was moving higher to the hem of his shorts. It was nothing more than an instinct, because with the way he was comfortable to dress, it wasn't once or twice when someone made advances on him, trying to slip their hand under his shorts. This was actually the reason why he stopped dressing this way for going out, because he got so sick of the hands on his body, that didn't mean to simply appreciate or show affection.
Namjoon looks quietly at the both men, not joining in, because he knows what this was all about, from the way Yoongi jumped away, and it wasn't his place to explain anything to Jungkook. He places his hand on the back of Yoongi's neck reassuringly to let him know he is here for him, even though the pack alpha will stay out of the conversation, while the other hand finds Jungkook's one and squeezes it tightly.
"I actually enjoy when others touch my legs, it's very calming for me," Yoongi timidly admits, when the silence gets too uncomfortable and long, not looking at Jungkook, who is getting lost more and more.
Despite all the things, Yoongi still enjoyed casual touches a lot, especially when they were on his legs, because he was naturally very affectionate and didn't mind even if Jimin grabbed his ass on occasion. He was sure his relationship with his packmates were purely platonic, so there was nothing wrong in it for him, and he was comfortable encouraging it. It was the same with Namjoon, because even if he had something in mind, they were at this stage in relationship when he could easily say he isn't in the mood and no one will get offended or hurt. But he wasn't that comfortable with Jungkook yet, so he had to be careful.
"Then why?.."
"There is one thing I didn't mention before," Yoongi takes a deep breath and continues more confidently, while Jungkook shuts his mouth, getting ready to listen. The alpha sensed that it's not easy for the other to talk about it, so he wanted to give him space to find his words.
"A very important thing, that I will need you to respect." The omega waits for any sign of understanding from Jungkook, who settles on the nod. "I am on the asexual spectre. Basically it means that I rarely experience sexual attraction and I need to have a strong emotional bond with the person to feel something towards him. There are words for that, but I prefer to not use too many labels, it gets confusing for everyone and especially me."
"But I didn't do anything sexual-"
The new information actually explains many things to Jungkook, the things that he didn't understand before in other's brief mentions, like the couple not spending their cycles together all the times or little inside jokes between the packmates. Though he will admit he is not educated enough of the topic. But it doesn't explain why Yoongi freaked out just a moment ago, because he didn't even think about anything like that, he was just appreciating the beauty.
"Really?" Yoongi is as surprised to hear it, as Jungkook was to hear his words, but then he shakes his head, getting back to his point. He will have the time to coo at the other's naïveness and genuineness later, because he actually might be the first one - after Namjoon of course - who is romantically interested in him and didn't plan on getting into his pants the second he touched the omega's legs. "Well, it's good to know, but for many people it is something that turns them on or is a part of foreplay, you know. And when you reached higher, I freaked out from the possibility of you maybe wanting to go further, when I'm not ready for it."
Yoongi tries to ignore how Jungkook adorably blushes at his words, and focuses on the educational part. It was already a good sign, that the younger reacted so purely and honestly, but he still needed to explain everything, because the alpha probably doesn't know much on the topic, just like most people.
"Anyways. I just need you to know, that I don't feel comfortable doing anything remotely sexual with you and I don't like being sexualized much. At least out loud. And I need you to respect that, if you want to continue what we have. At some point things may change and maybe we will get to it, but maybe not. Are you okay with that?"
"Am I okay with it? Why wouldn't I be?" Jungkook finally answers with clear not understanding in his voice and then blushes a bit more, lowering his gaze. The topic was rather sensitive and a bit embarrassing for him, especially now when he was afraid of crossing any boundaries, but Namjoon's grip on his hand that became only tighter encourages him to continue. "I mean, I do find you attractive, but it doesn't mean I am going to pressure you into something that you clearly don't enjoy..."
"Oh no, he does enjoy it, quite a lot sometimes," Namjoon chuckles shamelessly and smirks at Yoongi, teasing him, before the omega slaps the other on the shoulder. Jungkook is a bit slow to understand the subtext in the alpha's words, but when he does, he blushed even more, trying not to imagine the two of them, tangled in the sheets. He shakes his head and fights the urge to cover his face with his hands, looking at Yoongi.
"What Namjoon meant is that I'm not sexually repulsed all the time. Most of it, but not all the time." Yoongi rolls his eyes, taking Jungkook's free hand into his. This was actually going a lot better than he expected, and even if he was just a tiny bit annoyed, Namjoon's joke helped to lighten the atmosphere. "Sexual attraction and the desire to have sex are not the same thing, and I can explain it more to you later. It's just too bothersome, when I feel nothing and when I don't the other person very well."
Jungkook stays quiet for a few seconds, letting the information sink in. So, even though it was too early in his opinion to talk about sex in their relationship, now he knew that Yoongi wasn't interested in sex with him, but with Namjoon it was okay, because they've been together for a long time. From what he knew asexuals didn't have sex at all, because they were not interested in it, so he didn't even consider that they may want to participate in it, and if he was being honest, he didn't know that there actually was a spectrum and some conditions that the asexuals could feel sexual desire. He really needs to read more about it as soon as he gets home.
However, it really wasn't a deal breaker for him, and Yoongi seemed to worry that it was. Relationships weren't just about sex in his head, and it surely wasn't the only thing he was in this for. Sex is fun and amazing, but other types of intimacy are as important as sex, if not more.
"So... I can hug you and... touch you? Like trace your tattoos and stuff." Jungkook listens closely to the other's words, trying to put all of this in one picture, but failing a little, because it truly was a lot. In the corner of his eye he notices how Namjoon smiles widely at his words, showing off his gorgeous dimples, but the younger tries not to get distracted by that.
"Yes, you can. Just don't grab my ass or something like that, okay? For now." Yoongi entertains himself with the way Jungkook gets shyer at their teasing and pats the other's hair gently. He thought this boy couldn't get any cuter, but he beats the record every time. How is he gonna deal with it when they will get him into bed? "I will tell you if something makes me uncomfortable."
"Okay." Jungkook nods quickly and bites his lip in a thought. There was one more thing that he wanted to do with Yoongi, but he wasn't sure if it was in the 'grab his ass' category. Making out wasn't sexual by definition, and he and Namjoon proved it this morning, but he wasn't sure how it was for Yoongi. "...Can I kiss you?"
Now it's Yoongi's time to blush, as he briefly looks at softly smirking Namjoon, that was clearly holding himself from either cooing or kissing the breath out of this adorable boy. He was suspecting the other will ask this question, because the omega clearly avoided the topic this morning, when he caught the other too making out next to him, but it wasn't because of his sexuality. Yoongi just was a little sap and unlike Namjoon he could take his time getting his hands on the younger, because he wanted to make their first kiss special, wanted to remember it.
"Yes, you can. Not now, but you can," the omega finally mumbles promisingly, still holding the other's hands tightly in his own, while the alpha lets out a relieved breath, feeling the tension slip away.
"Come here, cupcake."
Namjoon finally gives up and pulls Jungkook closer, while the younger eagerly obeys, trying to make himself look smaller in his arms. He felt drained after their little talk, worrying too much about things he has done wrong and could do wrong in the future, but it was nothing that the cuddles couldn't fix. Yoongi smiles, looking at the two of them tenderly, and stands up from his place only to sit on the opposite side of the young alpha, wrapping his arms around him as well.
It was a hard and difficult conversation for everyone, but very much needed, and Namjoon was proud of the way the alpha dealt with things. He didn't expect less, judging by how passionate Jungkook was to advocate for omega's rights, because they were usually the ones who was harassed and sexualized the most. So it wasn't hard to predict that he would be respectful in the matter of sexuality and everything related to it as well.
"Aren't you three adorable?" Jin interrupts their soft bonding moment with a chuckle and leans against the door frame, when they look up at him. "Dinner is ready, lovebirds."
Notes:
Jungkook's pov has incorrect things, because he is not educated yet, please be aware of that!!!
I am basing Yoongi's sexuality from my own experience, and we both don't actually know where exactly we are on the spectre. He is demi, because he needs the emotional bond, but sometimes he just doesn't feel like it, which moves him towards graysexuality. And he does enjoy sex or some parts of it, but it's fluid for him. Also at some point in the work I will speak about BDSM and asexuality and how they can intertwine, because BDSM isn't all about sex and from my point of view it's actually pretty far away from it.

Chapter 9
Notes:
First of all, I'd like to apologise for constantly changing things around and would ask you to re-read the last chapter, because I didn't like how the second half turned out and added bits and pieces in it. I hope you will like the new version!!
About the delay: I haven't been feeling this work for some time and I needed some time off, because I just didn't know what to write. Writing poly relationships are harder than I thought, so I focused on my other workds (a namgi fic and a yoonkook au) I hope you understand.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Days pass and their lives go on. It's been three weeks since the day Namjoon and Yoongi asked to court him, and Jungkook didn't expect that it would be so easy. He feared that now when things were official, something would change, their behaviour around each other would change and things might get awkward, and they would lose that light feeling of falling in love that brightened his days. But it didn't happen. They continued to bicker and laugh and tease each other as usual, getting to know each other slowly but steadily.
However, a few things had changed after all, but Jungkook would lie if he said he didn't like them. Now he could kiss Namjoon as much as he wanted. Now they were going on dates at least 3 times a week, when someone was free and was missing the other: sometimes it was grabbing lunch with Namjoon or going to an exhibition he managed to get tickets for, sometimes it was lounging at the pack house with Yoongi and cuddling on the sofa or going on long walks around the city with the older telling him about the architecture around them - turned out it was a little secret passion of his. Sometimes it was a fancy dinner for the three of them, sitting in a small booth and discussing how their week has been.
Jungkook treasured all of those little moments equally, making sure to steal something from each date - a brochure from an art gallery, a napkin Yoongi was doodling something on, a little bunny that the two made for him, combining their knowledge of origami, when they were waiting for their dinner - to put into his little memory box, that he kept under his bed. Maybe he was a sap, but he liked to have something physical, that he can take out of the box and remember certain day more easily. This little habit never failed to brighten his mood and sadly he needed that more often recently.
The exam season wasn't that close, as many of his classmates were saying to him, but Jungkook's anxious brain couldn't stop worrying. He was still thinking that him getting into this amazing university was a miracle, and he didn't want to ruin everything, he wanted to be the best and to prove everyone that he was worthy of his place here. Which resulted in the younger overworking himself as usual.
On top of numerous assignments and homework that he had to do every day, because being a chemical major came with a lot of maths and physics subjects, that he would have to write an exam on. It was undoubtedly the biggest of his problems, making Jungkook stay up late, watching lectures on Youtube to understand at least something. He didn't know how much is enough, if he was really ready for the coming exams or not, and it was stressing him out.
"Man, you look like shit," is the first thing that Taehyung tells him, when he notices Jungkook at one of the tables in the cafe and sits next to him.
The younger was hesitant to go out with him, considering the fact that he already blamed himself for spending so much time with Yoongi and Namjoon, when he should have been studying, but he just couldn't say no to them. To Taehyung, on the other hand, he could and he did, resulting in the other threatening to delete Jungkook's favourite game from the console in the pack house, if he won't meet up with him anytime soon.
"Good morning to you too," Jungkook answers grimly and shuts his laptop close, stopping working at the history essay to pay attention to his friend. He did miss him after all.
"It's 1 PM," Taehyung raises an eyebrow at him and reaches to take Jungkook's coffee to take a sip of it, scrunching his face. "How do you drink that, it's not even coffee any more with the amount of milk and sugar in it."
"I woke up at 12," Jungkook rolls his eyes and takes his cup back, downing the drink in one go. He hated strong coffee, but he needed to energy it gives, so he had to add more sugar after asking for double espresso shots in it. Sugar is good at giving at least some quick energy as well.
"I went to bed only in the morning, cause I had an assignment to finish, and while there is coffee in it, it still can be called coffee." Taehyung gives him a sceptic look, and Jungkook isn't even surprised he does. The younger wasn't used to pulling all-nighter, so the effects of it were more visible, even if he tried to cover it with extra strong concealer. "Anyways, tell me how have you been, Tae. I know I was being an ass by cancelling so much, but I really missed you."
His honesty seems to work on Taehyung, and the other softens towards him and starts excitedly showering him in recent news, while Jungkook orders one more of his disgustingly sweet coffees for himself and a black one for the older.
The biggest thing in the pack life that Jungkook had missed is, of course, Jimin's initiation. Namjoon explained to him that he can't attend it, even though he'd already been on a few pack nights, because initiation was much intimate and sacred, and only packmates were allowed to witness it. He tried bothering Yoongi to tell him what all the fuss was about, in hopes to make him spill a few things about the whole process, because he knew the head omega was soft for him, but the older didn't give in as well. "You'll see for yourself soon," was his response and Jungkook choked on the tea he was sipping because he surely didn't expect that.
Well, he was aware where this is all was going and there was no way that they will have something with Jungkook without him not being a part of the pack, but he didn't think about like that. It was all still like a dream to him, a dream that he didn't want to wake up from, because for once he was truly happy, and all of those feelings in his chest made it hard for him to breathe more often.
But for now, he hasn't been asked to join the pack yet, because the couple was set on taking things slow, supposedly noticing how overwhelmed he was already at times. At this rate, the next one to join the pack will be Hoseok, and not him, because their relationships were going very quick, unexpectedly for everyone, but no one was against, seeing how happy they were making each other. They were pretty private about their relationship, but the way their eyes lit up when the other entered the room or simply was mentioned was telling everything.
"Speaking of the devil," Jungkook blurts surprised, noticing Seokjin heading towards them, and Taehyung stops his story about the most romantic date ever - every one of his dates is called that, but the younger didn't say anything - that his mate took him on.
Once Jungkook mentioned to Namjoon how much he admires Taehyung and Seokjin's relationship, because seeing them go on dates all the time and be disgustingly sweet when they think no one sees them was giving him so much hope about the future. He told him how his parents weren't looking at each other with the same passion in their eyes, that he saw when he was a child, after years of being together, and said that it's the thing he is afraid the most. That night Namjoon told him that he will take him on dates every week until the world collapses, because he deserves them all, and Jungkook may or may not had cried a little, hearing those words. That night Yoongi kissed away his tears, pulling the younger closer, and whispered that he won't ever let something like that happen to them.
Turns out, Seokjin was on his way home from work, after finishing an early shift for some big event at their restaurant that they had to prepare everything for, but he saw the two of them through the window and decided to drop by and say hi. And hanging out with the couple makes Jungkook feel guilty, because he genuinely enjoys their company, and he feels bad for ignoring everyone's invitations.
However, he doesn't stay long with them, reasoning that Seokjin needs to rest, and they can catch up more next time. Surely, it's only partially true, because the main reason of him excusing himself is the time, because he still needs to finish that essay and then start preparing for the exams, as Namjoon asked him out tomorrow, so he has to work extra hard to compensate all the hours that he isn't studying. He might have to pull one more all-nighter.
***
The next day, Jungkook is comfortably laying next to Namjoon with his head on the other's chest, as they watch a documentary about sea world on the TV. The older seemed to sense that the other alpha was too tired to go out today, so he simply suggested doing that and ordering take-out instead of their usual dinner at the local restaurant.
And now, after eating the dinner with Yoongi in the living room, the two of them moved to the bedroom, while Yoongi left in the direction of his studio after kissing each one of them on the cheek. He said he wanted to work on sketches that his clients requested. At first Jungkook didn't understand how he can prefer to be alone instead of hanging out with them, when Yoongi was using this excuse not only to actually work but also to be alone for some time, but after a long conversation with both of his partners he calmed down, reassured that it wasn't about him. Yoongi explained that he just needs his alone time to recharge and rest, and the younger learned to understand and accept it.
Jungkook gets bored with watching fish move in the water next to the corals, so he decides to take matters into his own hands, throwing one leg over Namjoon. With one swift move he pulls himself up, sitting on top of now smiling Namjoon and leans forward, placing his hands on the sides around his face. The alpha's hand immediately find their place on the younger's hips, barely noticeably grounding him and holding him closer.
"Hi"
"Hi"
"Come here," two words from Namjoon are enough for him to get down to business, and Jungkook leans closer, placing his lips on the other man's ones. Making out, after all, is his favourite kind of free time activity.
Whenever they were together, Jungkook just couldn't have enough of his kisses. Slow and lazy, a little passionate and breathless, he loved them all, not wanting to go any further just because he was enjoying this already. Once, someone told him that there are no bad or good kissers, just people you are meant to kiss or not, and with Namjoon it was definitely destiny. They fit like pieces of a puzzle, moving their lips slowly and exploring each other's mouths like for the first time. And this inevitably made Jungkook think if it was the same, when Namjoon kissed Yoongi.
From his point of view, it was the funniest thing in polyamorous relationships, if you are the person that can handle them. Everyone usually assumed that there is jealousy and constant competing for attention, but in reality, Jungkook didn't fight for it and didn't feel bad when he wasn't getting it. If Namjoon and Yoongi decide to make out during their movie date, he doesn't feel anything bad, quite the opposite: there is only excitement and curiosity in him, but also that feeling of being happy because your partner is happy that he couldn't remember the name of (comperison).
Surely, Jungkook was more than eager to know how Yoongi's lips taste and to kiss him breathless, just like Namjoon usually did until the omega started whining and whimpering in the most adorable manner. But. There were boundaries, Yoongi's boundaries, and he was going to respect them. He didn't know why kissing with him was prohibited for now, because for him it wasn't anything necessarily sexual, but he couldn't tell if it was for Yoongi. Maybe he even had a different reasoning, but he never got brave enough to ask, because he didn't want to look like he's pushing.
After their conversation, Jungkook spent a good few hours, looking for information about terms that Yoongi told him: the asexual spectrum, demisexuality, sexual repulsion. It was all new for him, but he was a top student after all and getting to know something new had always been interesting. Now he had a clearer idea in his head, when he put the things that he'd read and the things that the omega said, because everyone is different and there was no distinct explanation or definition - you had to figure everything with the person directly. But the question about the kisses was still bothering him.
"Cupcake," Namjoon's voice sounds almost questioningly, as he pulls away to take a breath and notices a little line on Jungkook's face that always meant that he was stuck in his head. His finders instinctively bury themselves in the boy's hair, and the alpha softly caresses his cheek with his thumb. "What's up?"
"Nothing," Jungkook leans into the touch and closes his eyes, biting his lip to distract himself from his own curiosity. But maybe... if he asks Namjoon he won't look like an asshole that wants to pressure Yoongi into something he doesn't want yet? "Okay, but please don't think I'm rushing into something or, I don't know, don't respect Yoongi's boundaries, cause I do-"
He feels his heart banging against his rub cage and realizes that he is probably rambling at this point, but he can't help himself. It feels like everything with the school and his hectic new life piled up and the little thought about him ruining everything by disrespecting Yoongi's boundaries became the last drop, making all of his anxiety overflow. He is definitely overreacting, but he can't calm down on his own, because only answers can possibly do that, and he doesn't have them yet, and probably won't have if he won't be able to talk properly.
"Breathe, Jungkookie," Namjoon sits up from his position, easily moving Jungkook body further to sit on his legs instead of his middle, like he weights nothing, so that they will be sitting face to face, and somewhere at the back of his head there is a little thought about how strong he must be to do that and about what else he can do with his strength.
"Okay," he lets out a loud sigh, taking a few breaths to calm his racing brain. He remembers all little pep talks that they gave him earlier on honest communication and tries to sound as composed as possible, looking at the alpha's hands. "I wanted to ask why Yoongi doesn't want to kiss me yet. And I'm asking you and not him, because I don't want to look like I'm rushing him."
"Oh," Namjoon looks taken aback, certainly not expecting to be asked that, but soon a big smile appears on his face, as he places his fingers under the younger's chin to raise his head for a better eye-to-eye contact.
"Aren't you the sweetest bun ever?" The lead alpha shakes his head, continuing smiling with his dimples making an appearance one again, and presses a gentle kiss on the tip of Jungkook's nose. "You could have easily asked Yoonie about that, and he wouldn't have minded. But I will answer your question. Your hyung is just the biggest sap ever, and he wants your first kiss to be special. I didn't tell you that, but he's been planning The Date all this time, so you won't wait long, I promise."
Jungkook suddenly feels so small and silly after Namjoon's words and the soft tone of his voice, that he feels the urge to curl into himself and never show his face again, because he assumed that it must be something related to his sexuality, when it was something so simple and so Yoongi. Of course, he would want that, considering how many crappy romcom movies he made him watch and cried in Jungkook's arms every time at the happy ending.
The alpha gives in to his urge and quickly wraps his arms around Namjoon, hiding his face in the crook of his neck. The older chuckles quietly and hugs him back, softly rubbing his back, as Jungkook breathes in his strong and home-like scent in hopes to calm down his embarrassment mixed with anxiety. It was one of the many things that amazed the younger: how easily despite the fact that both of them were alphas they fit into this dynamic without any problems.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Jungkook never felt like the stereotypical alpha that his father always wanted him to be and that Namjoon is. Surely, Namjoon is far from the archaic stereotypes, because he is respectful and understanding and many other things that make him such a great human being, but he has the dominant aura that Jungkook is certainly missing. The only times that he felt dominant were around Yoongi, and he can't actually say it was necessarily dominant, more like protective and caring.
And it isn't because of the older being an omega, but because he is so gentle and petite, that it makes his alpha instincts kick in and make him want to do all those little things, like giving him his coat when Yoongi once again goes to grab dinner with him only in his pyjamas, or pulling a blanket over him when he falls asleep on the couch, or even opening the door for him only to see the older adorably blush at his actions.
And maybe, his alpha is just ready so submit to Namjoon. He doesn't have any problems revealing his neck for the older to kiss and mark or letting the lead alpha decide something for him on a daily basis. Of course, he would put up a little play-fight, but just for the sake of being a brat and not because his inner alpha was actually mad. Jungkook isn't sure he is ready to submit in a more intimate way, but he simply knows there won't be many problems with that either.
"It's alright, Kookie." Namjoon whispers into his ear softly, after giving Jungkook some time to process everything, and the younger scents him in response, showing that everything is alright. "If you want to, I won't mention to Yoonie that you asked that."
"No, it's okay. I don't mind." Jungkook mumbles into the other's neck and still doesn't raise his head, enjoying the position he is in. "I just felt silly. Can we sit like that for a bit?"
"Of course, love." Namjoon hugs him tighter, and Jungkook feels like he can breathe again, despite how absurd it might sound with how bone crushing the other's hugs are. But it is the pressure that helps him, makes him feel secure and safe, like nothing can happen when he is Namjoon's arms. He's heard that pressure might help with anxiety and even thought of buying one of this weighted blankets, but he's never considered that someone's hugs can be the cure as well.
"I thought you're gonna be asleep by now," another voice speaks up in the room, and Jungkook can feel Namjoon shift a little to look at Yoongi, who is probably standing in the doorway, but doesn't move himself. "Guess I'm lucky today."
"Hyung," Jungkook's voice breaks, as he finally speaks up, and he can hear rustling somewhere behind him, caused by Yoongi quickly moving to join them on the bed and wrap his arms around the younger as well.
"Is everything alright?" His question is barely audible, but there is clear worry in it, so Jungkook decides to finally face the real world, knowing that he can trust these men with his feelings. Even if it is hard.
"I don't know," the younger pulls away from Namjoon just a little, feeling his hand never stop it's reassuring movements on his back. "It's just... A lot is going on and my anxiety gets out of hand sometimes. It was one of those moments. I just freaked out over nothing, I guess."
"Awe, baby," Yoongi looks into his eyes sympathetically and raises on his knees to press a soft kiss on his forehead, staying there for a few seconds to let Jungkook feel that, feel that he is not alone and there are people who are willing to take care of him. "I am sure it wasn't nothing. But it's alright to feel like that sometimes, okay? You're the bestest boy and you're perfectly capable of dealing with whatever comes up on your way. And you have us, remember? We're always here and always ready to help you in whatever way you might need us to."
"Thank you, hyungs," Jungkook takes a deep but shaky breath, after listening to Yoongi's reassuring words, and does his best at trying not to cry, because it's not how he wants to spend his time with them. He reaches out to the older to briefly scent him as well, as a sign of gratitude and affection, and the other lets out a short purr with a soft smile.
"Lets get into the bed properly, okay? And if you wanna, we can discuss it or just cuddle some more," Namjoon suggests quietly, and everyone nods, moving to get under the blankets.
His hyungs are right. Jungkook is gonna be alright, because for the first time in his life, he isn't alone.
