Bucky: I was thinking about what you said yesterday

Bucky: about being afraid that I was going to ghost you

Sam: what about it?

Bucky: I don't really know how to ask this, but you said that you weren't afraid of me hurting you

Bucky: by accident, I mean

Bucky: if I'm having a nightmare or something

Sam: that's not a question

Bucky: are you actually not afraid of that, or are you just more afraid of me ghosting you if we have a fight or I start getting in my own head again?

Bucky: sam?

Bucky: I saw you start typing

Sam: ouch.

Bucky: sorry

Bucky: I didn't mean to hurt your feelings

Sam: no, it's a good question. I started to say I actually wasn't afraid of it and then I realized that I should really think about it.

Sam: I think the answer is genuinely the first one

Sam: if it's not, I'm definitely a lot more afraid of you ghosting me

Bucky: I'm not going to

Bucky: and I'm sorry I did after we got back

Sam: I know, bucky.

Sam: getting too much support from people who aren't my sister just hasn't necessarily worked out great for me.

Bucky: yeah.

Bucky: do you want me to stop - I don't know, bothering you as much as I do or something?

Sam: no!

Sam: no. I really don't.

Sam: it's just hard to realize that you'd be really fucked up if you lost somebody before you even realized you were letting them in that much.

Bucky: well, I think the only way you're getting rid of me at this point is if somebody kills me, and I'm pretty durable

Bucky: that sounded creepier than I meant it to

Sam: no, it didn't

Sam: it made me laugh, anyway

Bucky: oh

Bucky: okay

Bucky: good

Sam: thanks.

Sam: can I call?

Bucky: yeah, I'm around whenever

Sam: I thought about it and decided that I think the answer is the first one, but ouch

Sam: that was a really good question

Sarah: well, he's dense sometimes, but he knows you really, really well, and he loves you to death. I'm not shocked he's asking good questions.

Sarah: you make a decision about whether you're going to new york yet?

Sam: yeah, we talked on the phone a little while ago and I booked my tickets

Sam: I think I told you that my therapist said he was fine doing sessions virtually?

Sarah: yeah

Sarah: I'm glad, I think it's a good plan

Sarah: stopping at the store on the way home, anything you want?

Sam: I think I'm good, but thanks

Sam: hey - I'm going to be in new york for a couple weeks, if you wanted to do an interview

Rebecca: oh! sure, that would be great!

Sam: and nice job on the one with bucky last month

Rebecca: well, he said he wanted an interview to talk you up

Rebecca: I think he delivered

Sam: he did

Sam: I'm not sure what exactly my schedule's going to be, but I can probably find time friday or next week if you're available

Rebecca: team captain america wants to do an interview, I'll work it into my schedule and go wherever they want

Rebecca: last one was in bucky's kitchen right after work

Rebecca: so yeah, just let me know when!

everyone is going to be just thrilled that sam is, once again, trying to fill his schedule up.

and, ofc, happy pride month! 🌈 Idk if y'all have seen this, but in the last few days, we've had two professional athletes come out as lgbtqia+: kumi yokoyama (who plays for the japanese national football team and the washington spirit) came out as a trans man and carl nassib (who plays for the las vegas raiders nfl team) came out as gay. we love to see it.

tomorrow: bucky is worried sam is self-sabotaging and loses his temper

Bucky: how do you know something happened?
Sarah: I asked when I needed to drive him to the airport tomorrow and he made a comment about how it might be the last time I ever saw him because he thought you might kill him
