“You’re the one that lost rock paper scissors, now get over here before I have Ni-Ki drag you to the couch.”
Curse his bad luck.
“Hyung, do we really have to?” Jay whined, using his aegyo that he claimed to hate.
Laughing at his best friend’s demise, Heeseung replied, “Yes!! Now come here and sit with me.”
No use fighting him; mathyung knows best, after all. Plus the thought of the hyperactive maknae dragging him over to Heeseung was more than enough motivation.
“So, um… what movie did you pick for us?” He hesitantly sat down, dreading the answer.
About two hours ago, the seven were eating dinner together at the HYBE building after a day of recording, vocal practice, dance practice, shooting, and whatever other duties fit into their grueling schedules. Heeseung, ever the fake maknae and feeling mischievous, requested a round of rock paper scissors; the loser had to do a secret dare, to be revealed after the game, with him.
(He knew all of them were too competitive and stubborn to say no to a dare).
Knowing that look on his face, the others were wary but complied nonetheless with mouthfuls of steak, kimchi, and tteokbokki.
Heeseung was all but vibrating with evil excitement after the loser was announced.
“You have to watch a horror movie tonight with me, that’s your dare.”
Pretty sure you know who the loser was.
Jay’s face fell and he looked exactly like when he saw the I-LAND ghost. The number of emotions and thoughts going through him at this moment was firing faster than notched arrows in two dozen compound crossbows (his metaphor machine was a bit wack at the moment, cut him some slack).
Man, if looks could kill, then his hyung would be shark bait in Busan right now. The others, too, for the teasing they handed him.
Two hours later and Jay was still grumpy at the outcome but much more petrified now that D-day (or D-hour? D-minute? Ugh, technicalities were too complicated right now) was upon him.
“We’re watching…”
Jay held his breath; couldn’t they just watch Vincenzo instead???
“IT!!! The 2017 version!”
Almost as an immediate response, Jay blurted out, “Why do you hate me?” Although accidental, he thought it was appropriate, so he allowed for it to be said with dignity.
Hyung had the audacity to laugh at him. What the heck, bro??? I thought we were best friends!!! WHY WOULD YOU SUBJECT ME TO THIS TORTURE, LEE HEESEUNG.
“Are you really that scared of horror movies and ghosts and stuff like that?”
“Hyung.” Jay gave him the look, the sassiest one he could muster in this state. “You were there when we saw the I-LAND ghost! Did I look okay to you??”
Instead of answering, Heeseung reached out and pulled Jay into his shoulder so that his face was safely hidden there. Jay didn’t resist, even defeatedly wrapping his arms around his frame while mumbling, “Sunghoon would never do this to me.”
“Sunghoon-ah literally pretended to be a ghost to scare you on the show but yeah, he would never watch a scary movie.” He had one arm secured around Jay and the other clicking through shows and movies, smile hidden from Jay (as he was still comfortable in Hee hyung’s shoulder, unwilling to see the screen until he met his ultimate demise from a dancing clown).
Finally, finally, after excruciating minutes of waiting, Heeseung pressed play.
Jay was just about to muster enough courage to look up when he froze.
IT isn’t on Netflix, is it?
He waited a few more seconds, then heard the unmistakable sound of a lighter with some very distinctive music.
He whipped his head up so fast that he almost knocked into Heeseung’s (*cough* gorgeous *cough*) jaw.
It couldn’t be…
IT WAS.
“HYUNG IS THAT VINCENZO, OH MY GOD IT IS???? WHAT-” Needless to say, Heeseung was laughing again at Jay’s adorable rambling which was promptly followed by a smack to his shoulder.
“How could you do that to me, hyung??? You set me up for scary and instead I get my favorite show! I was so panicked! You are so evil,” pouted Jay, turning completely away from him to cross his arms.
Pausing the show, he pulled Jay in yet again, this time for a one-sided back hug.
“I was going to play a scary movie but I changed my mind when I saw how upset you were. I knew none of you would fare well unless it was Ni-Ki or Sunoo so I thought this would be better. Really! I’m sorry you were so worked up over it, Jongseong-ah.” Jay stared at the screen for a few silent seconds.
“Fine, I forgive you.” Wow, that was fast. But really, how could he not? He’s way too whipped for his hyung. “But I refuse to make you ramen for a week, you have to make it yourself or get Jake to do it.”
Yeah, that’s fair.
“Deal!”
Uncrossing his arms, Jay made himself more comfortable against Hee, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and bringing him closer. Jay thought about chastising himself for giving in so quickly but really, when it comes to Heeseung, he would do anything.
Pressing play, the elder leaned his head on Jay and cuddled closer. Heeseung usually wasn’t the type to shy away from skinship, and Jay loved reciprocating for those he loves.
They were infatuated with the show, even though both had already seen it. Ten minutes in, Jay started playing with hyung’s hair, and wow was that Hee's weakness. His actions became repetitive, comforting.
Okay, yeah, the mathyung of Enhypen is a sucker for skinship. But how could he NOT, especially from his beloved members?
Jay kept going. That is until he started drifting to sleep.
Now, Jongseong is usually the first asleep in the dorm and Hee the last to bed, so their setup was a mini-disaster from the get-go (considering how jam-packed their day was). Despite the fact that the tv was still showcasing Vincenzo in all his handsome awesomeness, here Jay was nodding off.
Heeseung knew, too. He knew by the way his head tilted on top of his own and his hand sleepily stopped its movement in his hair. Waiting a moment to ensure he was actually sleeping, he turned off the tv (the episode was coming to a close anyway) and repositioned himself so that he was more comfortable against the other. Sleeping on the couch wasn’t super ideal, but everyone knows that Jay is impossible to wake once gone. It meant more cuddles for Heeseung, and he definitely wasn’t one to turn down that offer.
It’s a good thing they stayed on the couch, too, because he had Ni-Ki tie a red balloon to Jay’s pillow to greet him after their supposed clown movie binge.
