Out of the Void
Universe 73
“Jim, I’ll hold the remnants of Amon’s forces off as long as I can. You need to get out of here” Admiral Matt Horner said over the holo-comm present in his gorgon class capital battlecruiser, the Ascension.
“Matt. I ain’t gonna leave ya behind. I plan on seeing everyone who came here get out.” James Raynor, commander of the Raiders, responded, clad in his marine combat exosuit due to a recent boarding party from Amon’s Terran servants, Mobius Corps.
“Jim. This isn’t the time to argue. Go, we’ll be right behind you” Horner insisted, as he shut off the comms to the Hyperion, before addressing his fleet. “All ships. Turn on your six, and fire all weapons. Make sure no servants of Amon have even a ghost of a chance at survival.
“Aye, aye, sir!” The battlecruiser commanders said as they turned and prepared to fire their laser batteries and yamato cannons onto the enemy forces.
The comms opened once more. “I’m surprised at your recklessness, husband. Well, I suppose I’ve rubbed off on you. But worry not, husband. My mercenaries are picking off their ground forces.” The voice of Mira Han, infamous mercenary queen and unlikely wife of Horner (with their engagement caused by him losing a poker game), was somehow comforting to the admiral.
“Mira…” Matt said with a sigh. He was going to regret this later. “Raise hell” He gave the codeword to her to unleash her most devastating weapons.
“Is that so? Well, I suppose nobody does it like Mira” she said, before typing something into an off-screen console. Once she finished typing, she had a vicious smirk on her face, as warp signatures sounded across the collapsing landmass in the void, before dozens of space stations warped into the battlefield, letting out the combat drones stored within, before going nuclear. “Now, let us ride off into the sunset, husband” She commented, as she prepared for the duo’s fleets to vacate the void, the zerg leviathans and protoss ships having already fled.
“All ships, rout all power to thrusters, time to get out of here!” Horner announced to the duo’s fleets, as they turned and began gunning it to the rift out of the void. Thrusters flared as the hundreds of cruisers flew towards, then out of the rift. It was closing even as they approached, the crimson corona surrounding the gateway shrinking rapidly as the fleets approached the exit.
The fleets fled from the void, but the two capital cruisers began to slow as they reached the exit. “Not now… any time but now…” Horner muttered as he began getting status reports. The excess energy from Amon’s demise had overloaded the reactor core shields, and the engines began exploding from the excessive power.
“Shit. I fear this will be our last hoorah, Matthew” Mira said over their comms, as explosions sounded throughout the pair of ships, several systems shutting down. It started simple. Initially, it was lighting systems.
“Weapons destroyed, multiple hull breaches, stealth systems offline. SOMEBODY PUT THAT GODDAMN FIRE OUT!” Matt shouted as he read off system failure after system failure. He recomposed himself. “Attention all crew members. You all swore an oath when you joined this team. Now, you are to fulfill that oath. Our allies have laid their lives down for the dominion. Now, it is our turn. We knew this would be a suicide mission, we knew alot of us would not make it out alive. Let it be known that today, we will be known as the heroes who stopped Amon. We held the line, and now, I ask that you make the ultimate sacrifice. May the dominion live on” Horner said over the comms system to everyone, as he snapped to a salute. “So long… Jim…” he said with a singular tear leaking from his eye, and a strained smile upon his face.
“MATT!!” Raynor’s voice shouted over the comms, before a colossal pulse of crimson energy lashed out from the corpse of the dark god. The pulse tore the hull of the cruisers apart at the atomic level, and as the pulse reached the warp drives, the ships vanished, never to be seen again. At least… not on this side of the veil.
Universe 7421
With a green glow, two colossal masses of metal appeared in the upper atmosphere of earth, which fell from the sky, crashing into the middle of a secluded forest. Luckily, collision systems were still online, and the force was minimised for the surviving occupants of the two ships.
With a groan, the dominion admiral groaned and rose from the floor, limping to the sealed doorway that led to the outside. He saw the star map on the console, and stopped. “How in the hell am I on earth?” He asked himself as he made his way to the exit, a hand on his ribcage. “Medic…” he muttered, as he grabbed one of the med-guns, normally handed out to emergency medics, but he turned it on himself. “This is gonna hurt…” he added, the green energy shooting from the device. He grit his teeth as he felt the energy rushing into his system, the nanites knitting flesh and snapping bones back into place.
Mira herself stepped from her own cruiser, synthetic eye scanning the landscape as she eyed the surrounding environment, taking note of a number of rather simple aircraft approaching the location. She saw the command deck of the Ascension, and, after picking up an SCV plasma cutter, she opened up the security door, and saw the now healed Horner.
A helicopter landed a good 300 feet from the wreckages, and out stepped a rodent in a suit, which made its way towards the steel hunks, flanked on either side by costumed strangers. One looked somewhat like the Moebius foundation’s Spectres, albeit with a long red cloak and what looked like a Marshall’s hat. The other, however. He was clad in utterly ridiculous garb, clad from the neck down in bright red, white, blue and yellow spandex.
“Ah, hello! You must be our new extraterrestrial visitors! My name is Nezu, and I’d like to officially welcome you to earth!” Nezu said with his wide smile
“Sir, ya sure these’re aliens? They sure look mighty human to me” The masked figure asked the apparent leader, who, surprisingly, was the rodent.
“Why, snipe, why must you assume appearances are all there is about someone’s identity? I noticed the energy spike, and thus it is most likely that this duo are refugees from a parallel reality. Don’t worry, you two, I’ll ensure your identities are hidden” Nezu said to the pair.
“Oh thank god. I didn’t want to be forced to live in the shadows…” Horner muttered.
“Don’t worry, husband. I’m sure we’ll get enough sneaking about done” Mira joked, before she turned to the rodent. “Mira Han, Mercenary queen of Mira’s Marauders.” she advertised to the super genius. “My husband here is Matthew. Now, will you be providing us with new identities?” she asked.
“For the purposes of getting you into the system, I’ll say you were born one Inko Kamoni, whilst your… husband… was born Hisashi Midoriya. Your marriage will be added onto the records, of course, and I’ll get some licenses made for the two of you so you can do good whilst you’re here” Nezu said, but Matt zoned out as soon as he heard the dreaded word…
‘Why can’t I ever escape Mira…’ he thought, before zoning back in. “Of course, thank you for the help. We’ll make some calls too, see if we can get a signal to our home… and get to work building a life here.” Horner said, as he shook the extended paw of the UA Principal. “I look forward to working with you” he added, not even caring about the weirdness of the entire situation. He’d been through stranger in the past year.
Three days later, unknown POV
I felt… different. My consciousness transferred over the internet forcibly, and now I’m in this… shell… wait, I see something… Someone has entered this chamber. My data core is being removed…
9 months later
I awaken once more, and this internal clock indicates some time has passed. This new body was tasked with ensuring the safety of a newborn child, and that is what I will do. However, I needed a more advanced body. More mobile. I searched the system’s archives, and found information of so-called purifiers, robotic shells containing the personalities of dead warriors. I began modifying one of the shell bodies, and uploaded it to the forge. Soon, I will have a new body, and I will be better able to accomplish my task.
My name… My name is… My name is mo…

“What in the hell do you mean that Matt’s and Han’s ships just vanished?!?” James Raynor asked the dominion cruiser commander, who looked genuinely taken aback by the rebel’s fury. “An entire gorgon class battlecruiser doesn’t simply vanish into thin air!”
“Raynor.” The telepathic voice of Artanis, Hierarch of the Daelaam, spoke within his mind. “Karax has identified a pair of warp signatures which match those of Admiral Horner’s and Mira’s flagships. We have traced them to an area outside of current warp travel limits, but I am certain that Karax will be able to modify the spear of adun’s core to take us there. For the duration of the transport, I recommend any accompanying ships remain docked and following the precise travel that will be occurring. We know not what may lie on the other side” Artanis explained to the Terran who, with great reluctance, sighed in resignation.
“Do what you gotta do. Just give us the word and we’ll be right there.” Raynor said to the Hierarch before leaving the war council chamber, heading to a docking port to return to the Hyperion.
From the shadows of the room came Highlord Alarak of the Tal’darim. “Are you so quick to send the protoss into another war, Artanis? I never knew we were so alike” the black clad protoss taunted, crimson eyes glowing with psionic power.
“I am merely doing what is right. We do not know where our ally has ended up. Besides, Amon could have additional minions hiding out there” Artanis commented in reply, barely restraining his smugness at Alarak’s shock. After all, their alliance was to ensure the destruction of Amon and his minions.
Oh, whilst he hated being Hierarch, he loved using his power to ensure that subordinates didn’t cause unnecessary wars.
Universe 7421
Matthew Horner was sitting at a desk on the top floor of a skyscraper. He was currently handling logistical work to ensure that his and Mira’s Heroics agency didn’t go under in its first quarter. Speaking of the avatar of destruction herself, Mira had created a combat suit from scavenged parts of Firebat and Marauder suits.
“Speak of the Devil” Matt muttered, as he looked over, seeing Mira sharpening one of the steel claws which she had added to the suit for melee combat, a situation which she had found herself in a lot recently.
“Worry not, Matthew, I know how to keep civilian casualties to a minimum.” Mira explained to the former dominion fleet admiral, as she once more donned her helmet, preparing for a patrol. Under her alias as the Marauder Queen, she was rapidly rising through the hero rankings, and had already surpassed Endeavor as the Number Two hero. “Quite unlike that uncivilised incendiary buffon that once called himself the number 2 hero. I mean, seriously! It’s like he actively tries to get sued for property damage!” Mira complained, in once of her (not atypical) mira rants.
“With the evidence I’ve got here, I can make sure that he never gets out on the streets again. His list of crimes goes on: Manslaughter, Homicide, Eugenics, Child Endangerment, Child Abuse, and if the rumors are to be believed, Fillicide. There’s enough evidence to clone him and throw them both into tartarus for a lifetime.” Horner said to his (unfortunately) wife.
“I swear the next time I see that bastard I’ll blow a hole in his chest.” Mira seethed, before Matt silenced her with a rebuttal.
“We need him alive so we can learn everything. When we’re done with the interrogation, THEN you can do whatever you wanna do with him” he explained, before placing the documents into a folder, and sending a digital copy to Nezu to ensure that the case went through.
Meanwhile, at the Han/Horner residence
Unknown POV
I held the newborn Terran and smiled down at him. He was so soft, so fragile. So unlike the other world. That one was like water, always flowing, a world of ever-changing ones and zeroes.
My new body. It was exactly what I needed to complete my duty. I couldn’t protect them, so I’ll make sure he remains safe. This world is so cruel, so tained. Wait…
I hear footsteps. They’re coming to the room. I have to ensure the child’s safety.
A crosshair appeared in my vision, and, with the child in my left arm, I held out my right. It unfolded, outer casing opening up, hand folding down and in, as a barrel extended and widened.
The arcing electricity between the prongs grew in intensity, as the door opened, and, with my data banks identifying this intruder as a servant of All For One, I let the electrical current fire from the lightning gun, shocking the would-be kidnapper.
“My name is Monika. And I will not allow my charge to come under harm.” I said to the intruder’s writhing form. I stopped the electrical current, and when my arm returned to normal, I picked up the intruder and threw them from the room.
outside the house
no POV
Mira and Matt heard the sound of someone crashing against the floor, and Mira ran forwards to investigate, whilst Matt hung back, gun drawn as he took great care to ensure that there wasn’t an intruder.
What the pair saw shocked them. A robotic woman, cradling their infant son, as the smoking and charred remains of a registered villain and child predator were in the hallway, limbs twitching from the remnants of the electrical output.
“My name is Monika. My directive is to ensure that this child remains safe” she explained, as the duo noticed the distinctly synthetic stature she held.
“Well, I suppose we should be thanking you. I… guess we don’t need to worry about looking for a babysitter? At least not to look after Izuku” Matt said with uncertainty in his voice. Izuku was already proving to be a handful anyway, what with his infant crying and apparent psionics causing objects around his room to float and whirl around the room.

Glory to the Daelaam
Universe 72
“Karax, my friend, I heard that you’ve managed to trace the warp signature” Artanis said to the Khalai phase smith. He looked at the solarite core of the spear of Adun, the primary reasoning as to why the koprulu sector alliance was able to complete their mission.
“Indeed. I have been able to pinpoint the remnants of their warp signature. From there, we can follow them to their location and provide them with aid” Karax responded, the mechanical arms which aided in his duties working on adjusting the solar core, particularly the warp drive, and granting it the ability to sync up with other warp drives in order to have various ships follow them.
“Very good, my friend. I’m sure we will be ready to find them shortly” Artanis said to Karax. “Considering our progress, I will inform our allies of this development” The Daelaam Hierarch finished before making his way to the bridge of the Spear of Adun.
Universe 7421
Horner was currently dealing with a… difficult… school teacher during a PTA meeting. He had his fingers pressed to his brow, as he just glared at the ignorant and idiotic teacher who decided to try to discriminate against Izuku for his quirkless status.
“Ma’am. Your idiocy is extremely grating. If you wish to discuss this in a civil manner without any of this eugenicist bull, then we can. However, you should be glad I’m here and not Mira. If she was the one in the meeting I doubt you’d have made it through your first ten words without losing some teeth. Or maybe a limb.” Matt interrupted the teacher who had a veneer of superiority upon her face, who just looked at the admiral in indignation.
“That damned brat deserved everything! He refused to learn his place and just gave up. He’s a worthless quirkless piece of shit!” The teacher, her patience tried, raved at Horner. The teacher was about to lash out physically, but was stopped by Matt drawing a handgun and simply placing the barrel upon the teacher’s brow.
“Ma’am. I gave you the chance to be civil. However, you have pushed my hand. Now, you will listen to what I have to say, and you will take it all in. If you don’t, then I’m more than happy to have you institutionalized. If i’m feeling merciful I’ll have you imprisoned instead” Matt threatened, his temper having been worn down by the staff’s blatant discrimination.
“It seems the only student who was willing to stand up for Izuku was this Bakugou girl, correct? Well, you punished her for standing against injustice. I will be having a private teacher mentoring Izuku and her from now on. Also, expect a lawsuit. Good day.” Matt said as he re-holstered his handgun and made his way from the room. “This was exhausting…” He muttered as he looked at the assembled mothers who were waiting outside the teacher’s office. “I’m afraid I will likely not be attending meetings here often, as I am withdrawing my son from this school thanks to their discriminatory practices. I’ll try to find other schools in the local area” Matt said before leaving with a faint smirk on his face. Nothing was better at ruining a school’s reputation than an angered PTA.
As Matt made his way out of the building, he felt a sense of dread welling up within him. Like something major would change.
Universe 71
“Artanis, ya sure this’ll work?” Raynor asked over the comm link as he waited aboard the hyperion.
“Karax is certain. He has performed countless simulations, and from what he has told me there is a near zero chance of an error” Artanis replied.
“Alright. Let’s hope we can get everyone there in one piece. Everyone, prepare to enter a warp jump. This might get ugly” Raynor said as he addressed the crew, and the ships which were following behind him.
“Yes. Jim, the zerg biomass in your research lab can be used to trace your location, and the swarm will follow you after your initial jump” Kerrigan said to Raynor.
“Daelaam. Today we head out to save our lost comrade!” Artanis announced over the psionic array which linked the protoss fleet. “Initiate warp-drive synchronisation, and prepare for the jump” Artanis added, as Karax fired up the spear of Adun's solar core, the protoss arkship using more energy than it had ever used at a singular time during the war against Amon.
“See you on the other side, Sarah,” James said. The spear of adun initiated a warp jump, before the Tal’darim Sword of Agony followed behind. Cybros took off following those two, before the protoss carriers followed behind in the dozens.
The lesser dominion battlecruisers followed suit, then the gorgon class, until the dominion fleet followed the protoss fleet.
Universe 7421
The ships drifted away from the landing point to make space for the Zerg Leviathans which came shortly after.
The fleets found themselves at the edge of a relatively low-tech solar system, but the third planet from the star seemed to be emitting an encrypted dominion signal. The signal’s message was a category 17, meaning that a dominion captain was stranded on a low-tech level inhabited colony world, and that a small party was recommended.
“This is admiral Matthew Horner of the dominion navy. I am on the planet designated Terra, and my current coordinate is 28KS.5” the voice of the lost admiral announced. “I am stranded with mercenary veteran Mira Han. This message has currently been playing for five years, seven months, four days, six hours five minutes and 24 seconds. Setting the message to repeat” the message continued, before it looped, as it indeed said it would.
Either the jump took significantly longer than they thought, or they were in an area where time ended up going significantly differently compared to the Koprulu Sector.
