Chapter 1: late night fight (jay x reader)

Chapter Text

Anonymous asked:

Hi! Can I request a Jay x reader (sorry nya) where they get into a fight about something and it hurts the reader, so they lock themselves in their bedroom. And after some coaxing they open the door and then it’s fluff. Sorry, I’m a sucker for angst to fluff fics!

Of course! I’ve not written a Jay x Reader before, but I’m very excited to try writing his character <333 And I haven’t written angst in a while either, but this will be a good way to get back into writing it. Thank you for the request! I hope you enjoy <3

Pairing: Jay x Reader

Warnings: cussing, angst, yelling and a fight :(

Damn. It’s a shame Kai isn’t awake right now. You sigh, frustratedly shoving away a newspaper while wishing the fire elemental would just burn it. You didn’t want to read it anymore. You don’t want to be famous anymore.

Even though the accursed document is farther away now, you can still see the header marked with: “MASTER OF DESTRUCTION IN AFFAIR?”

It sickens you. You want to claw your eyes out. You want to vanish into the void forever. You feel your anger rising as you suddenly yank the newspaper and start shredding it.

“They don’t fucking know, they don’t fucking understand, and yet they- they-ugh!” You suddenly don’t care how loud you’re being despite it being late in the night. What did you ever do to the public, except help save their sorry asses multiple times?! Why must they tarnish your name like this? Is it because you’re a girl? Is it because you just want to be happy? Or is it because the media is too obsessed with your personal life?

You feel tears threatening to spill as you grip your forehead with your palms. You want to leave. You’re not sure how much more of this you can handle.

“Babe?” comes a voice. You sigh. Normally, you’d be comforted with Jay here, but not now.

“What?” you mumble, swiping at your eyes.

Jay hesitates for a moment, and you know he knows that you’re not in a good mood. “We heard you yell. Is everything okay?”

A bitter laugh escapes you as you feel a headache forming. “Oh yeah. Everything’s fine.”

Jay frowns before sitting down next to you. Usually, he would take your hand or rub your back. Tonight, though, he’s well aware of your mood. “Paparazzi being annoying again?”

“Annoying?” you mumble, rubbing your forehead. “Not even close. It’s more than that.”

“I’m here to listen,” he offers.

You sigh. You love him, but…you really don’t want to talk to him right now. You just want to go to sleep and let yourself cool down before you decide to do something rash.

Unfortunately for you, though, you know he’s not going to let this go. And while that would usually be endearing, as of right now…it’s annoying.

“I don’t want to talk about it,” you say simply.

Jay’s frown deepens, and you immediately notice a shift. Why isn’t he accepting that like he always does?

“You never want to talk about anything that bothers you,” he mutters, crossing his arms.

“Is that a problem?” you snap, sitting up straighter.

“Actually, it is,” Jay replies. “You never tell me what’s wrong. And it makes you…it makes you like this.”

“Like what?!” you challenge, using your legs to push yourself away and put some distance between the two of you.

“Closed off and…and mad. And you expect me to just ignore you when you’re upset.”

“Well, it seems like you’ve been ignoring the media lately too.”

“The media? What about it has you so pissed?”

You grit your teeth as you feel your anger level rising. Sure, you never really told him, but you also feel like it’s pretty obvious. He couldn’t have not noticed the dirty stares you were sent while in public. Or the blatant verbal shaming. Which - you’ll give him credit where it’s due - he would speak up about. But how has he not figured it out yet?!

“Everything about it,” you snap. “Considering every fucking article involving me also involves you. There’s nothing about my accomplishments, or my thoughts, or my opinions. It’s just gossip. Just shallow bullshit that I can’t stand anymore!” you yell, standing up and violently swiping all of the torn newspaper off of the table. “I don’t want to fucking do this anymore!”

Jay huffs, crossing his arms as he also stands and glares at you. “Then why don’t you just aim higher?”

You feel your heart skip a beat. He…your eyes widen, and now you know that he knows he struck a nerve.

“Aim higher?!” you yell. “You know what? Fuck you. I’ve done more than your sorry ass could ever do! I’m more than a fucking girlfriend.”

You feel tears pooling in your eyes, but your temper doesn’t allow you to back down just yet. You’re about to add on to your rant when he butts in:

“Well, if it upsets you that much, then how about we take that title away? Then you won’t have to deal with our shallow bullshit anymore!”

You heart stops. That’s…that’s not…no. You were upset, but you didn’t mean for this to happen. You start feeling your head spin as you grip your forehead again, taking a step back.

You need to go. You need to clear your head. This…this wasn’t what you wanted, but of course…your temper got in the way again. And it’s ruined everything. You avert your stare away from Jay and take off running into the hallway.

You manage to make it into your room before you slam your door and lock it, sinking to a sitting position with your back against the door. You curse your temper, and your own self. If only you had just walked away…this would have been avoided. But now, because of your own carelessness, you’ve lost Jay.

At some point, you drag yourself to bed and cry yourself to sleep.

You don’t know what time it is when you wake, but you know it’s early in the morning. It’s still dark outside, and it appears that it was a sound that woke you.

You wait for a few seconds, and it happens again. You realize it’s the lock to your room. You quickly realize Jay still has the key to your room. You feel your lip tremble as you hear the door opening, and quiet footsteps approaching your bed before you feel the bed dip.

Soon after, a pair of hesitant arms encircle your figure as you feel Jay’s head coming up next to your ear.

“Babe?” he mumbles, rubbing your cheek. “Babe, wake up.”

You turn your head to face him, noticing that his eyes are red and puffy, much like yours. You already feel your eyes glassing up as you open your mouth to apologize, wondering if you can mend what’s been broken, but he cuts you off with a finger to your lips. You turn so that you’re on your back, and he’s hovering over you slightly.

“I’m so sorry,” he mumbles. “I never…I didn’t mean anything I said. What I said was horrible and…and I promise you that I will never intentionally hurt you like that again.”

“I need to apologize too. I was so angry that I wasn’t wording my feelings correctly, and it sounded like I was mad at you when really I’m just frustrated.”

Jay presses a kiss to your cheek. “The guys were all up when I got back to our room. They demanded to know what happened, and when I explained I realized why you were upset. And I think your frustration is justified.”

“I should have stepped away while I could,” you reply. “I was just…not in the mood.”

“I’m so sorry,” he mumbles, pressing a kiss to your cheek.

“You are forgiven,” you say, smiling as presses his nose against yours.

“Does that mean we’re…?”

“We’’re okay,” you answer, raising your hands above his head so you can pull him into a kiss.

Chapter 2: hoodie (cole x reader)

Chapter Text

Anonymous asked:

Hihi! I’m the one who asked for the jay x reader thing! I was thinking about a cole x reader thing where the reader takes his hoodie and it’s just big on them. And when he sees them, he has to take a double take. Just fluff, sorry if it’s a bit cliche!

Of course! I hope you liked the Jay x Reader :D Cole is my fave, so this should be cute <3 And it’s always the cliche ones that are the fluffiest :) I hope you enjoy this one!

Pairing: Cole x Reader (pre-dating)

Warnings: f l u f f + some minor cussing

You have a predicament on your hands.

It’s freezing cold! You shiver, regretting not bringing a jacket. A sigh escapes you as you stare out into the horizon from the Bounty’s deck. You were waiting for the ninja to get back from a mission. Lloyd, your brother, had brought you here earlier so that you could hang out with your friends, but they had been called away for an emergency. Now you’re quietly awaiting for their safe return, but are freezing in the process.

A few seconds later, you decide to go see if you can find a blanket or something. You dash into the Bounty, sighing in relief as the warmer air encompasses you.

Well, it’s warmer, but it could be even warmer! You set off inside, eyes scanning for anything that could help. Eventually, you find yourself in the gaming room, where you and the ninja had been when they were called. You spot something slung over the back of the couch.

It’s a hoodie!

Uh, well…not your hoodie. Or Lloyd’s. But it’s really cold outside! And you’re not sure how long you’d be waiting. So…it would be fine, right? The ninja would understand.

Mind set, you swiftly swipe the article off of its resting place before shaking it into an unfolded state. The words on the front read:

Rock on!

You giggle, realizing this must be Cole’s hoodies. It’s cute, soft, and greatly oversized, meaning that it’s perfect. You eagerly shrug it on. It’s more like a dress on you, because it falls just above your knees. Additionally, the sleeves are longer than your arms are, which means you can whack people with them. Excellent.

“Yeah!” you cheer before running back out to the deck, enjoying the newfound article of clothing.

“That’s so much better!” you exclaim once you’re out. The cold is no match for the hoodie!

You anxiously walk around the Bounty as you wait for the ninja to return. The computer said they were en route, so they should be back soon. Right? Right.

Minutes later, you hear the unmistakable sound of a roaring dragon. Your eyes widen as you gasp quietly before turning towards the source.

And there they are!

You grin as the ninja despawn their dragons one by one, all jumping off midair in a burst of magnificent light and landing effortlessly.

“Haha! I won!” Jay cheers as he pulls his mask off.

“We weren’t even racing, dumbass!” Kai retorts, shoving the blue ninja’s shoulder.

“Uh, yeah we were,” Jay says. “You guys just didn’t hear me over the wind!”

“Trust me. We would have heard you,” Cole mumbles, his back turned to you. Suddenly you grow nervous upon realizing he’s going to see you in his hoodie.

Suddenly, you feel Lloyd sneaking up behind you. You roll your eyes as you turn around.

“What are you doing?” you inquire, causing his evil smirk to fade.

“I wanted to scare you!” he groans. “You ruin all of my pranks!”

“You pranks are already ruined with how shitty they are,” you tease, punching his shoulder. He whines in response.

“Sorry I didn’t think to drop you off at the monastery while we went. We just kinda left you here,” Lloyd replies with a nervous chuckle.

You shrug. “It’s fine. No harm done, plus you guys had to get there fast. If anything, I at least got some peace and quiet for a while.”

“Mean,” Kai comments as he comes up next to Lloyd. “Hey, is that Cole’s hoodie?”

You feel your face going red as you avert your gaze. “It was the only thing I could find. And I was really cold!” you reply, suddenly regretting your decision a tiny bit.

Kai smirks after he takes a glance at Cole’s expression. “Really? Are you sure that’s the only reason?”

Your mild embarrassment turns into confusion. “What other reason would there be? I was just freezing cold.”

Kai shakes his head. “Never mind.”

You tilt your head, still a bit confused, but you shrug it off. It’s just a hoodie, after all.

“Kai, I’m gonna beat your high score tonight!” Lloyd yells, running inside. This manages to snag Kai’s attention, as the brunet takes off after your brother not long after. You sigh, shaking your head. Morons.

“Oh, uh…you probably want this back,” you mumble, cheeks red as you start to take the hoodie. “I’m sorry that I took it-“

“No, n-no, don’t apologize,” Cole replies, looking away from you.

“Huh? I took it without asking!”

“It’s really okay,” he replies, fidgeting with your fingers. “I’d rather you wear it than freeze while you waited for us to come back.”

A soft smile lines your lips as you study him. He’s still looking away bashfully. “Thank you.”

He nods. “Yeah. No problem. It, uh…it…” he mumbles something that you can’t quite catch.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you?”

His expression tells you that he regrets letting that last sentence slip. “It…um…looks cute on you,” he confesses softly.

You feel red dusting your cheeks as you struggle to find words. He thinks…his hoodie looks cute on you?

He rubs the back of his neck while you stand there with wide eyes. “Really?”

“Yeah…” he mumbles.

You giggle. “Thanks! I really like it.”

“It’s one of my favorite hoodies,” he notes, smiling.

You smirk, an idea forming as you approach the black ninja before arming your sleeves and whacking him once with the fabric.

“Ow! What was that for?”

“Let’s go inside before you freeze!” you chirp, skipping inside happily.

“Weirdo,” you hear Cole mumble as he chuckles and follows you inside.

Chapter 3: sick day (kai x reader)

Chapter Text

mikasasummer asked:

Hi!! I was wondering if you could do a fluffy one-shot where either Kai or Jay get sick and end up having to be taken care of?

Okay so I’m not gonna lie, I wrote this one pretty quickly and also I don’t have my glasses on now so there are likely a bunch of typos and I’m sorry about that ;-; I’ll probably go through and proofread later, but I hope it works for now!!

Of course!! These sound so cute <3333 I decide to try Kai since I haven’t written a oneshot for him yet :D I hope you enjoy!

Warnings: cussing

Something is very wrong.

You stare in absolute bewilderment at the sight of Kai sitting at the table with a mess of ungelled hair. It’s all flopped over the top of his head rather than spiked.

“Babe?” you question, a frown embedded on your lips as you go to sit next to him.

He only groans slightly. You knew something had been off when he didn’t get up in time for Sunrise Exercise, but seeing him in such a disheveled state? Weird.

You study him for a second, noting that he has bags under his eyes. He seems to be a bit pale too, and that prompts you to press a hand against his cheek.

He turns to you, slightly confused. You use your other hand to sweep his mess of hair back while your other goes to feel his forehead.

“Kai, you’re burning up! More than usual!” you say, eyes widening.

“I’m fine,” he mumbles.

“No, you aren’t, and you are laying your ass back in bed until you feel better!” you snap.

“But I have to train-“

“You already missed Sunrise Exercise, sweetie. Please just go get some rest,”

Thankfully, he doesn’t put up much of a fight this time. You walk him to his room, making sure he gets into bed without becoming lightheaded.

“Okay, I’m going to go get the thermometer. Do you want tea or any breakfast?”

“Butter toast,” he whines. “Please. And some of Sensei’s sick tea.”

You nod, leaning over to press a small kiss to his forehead. “I’ll be right back. Your phone is on your nightstand, so call or text if you need anything, okay? But don’t stand until I get back!”

With that, you run to the kitchen, where you push two pieces of bread into the toaster. After that, you get some water in a tea kettle and position it over the stove eye. Now to wait.

A few minutes later, though, you spot Sensei Wu walking in.

“Good morning,” he greets.

“Good morning, Sensei.”

“Where is Kai? I have not seen him all morning.”

“I think he’s sick,” you explain. “He’s running a fever, and he’s pale, poor thing.”

“Oh, I see. Perhaps consider using some of my Steepy Time Tea to aid in his sleep.”

You nod. “I will. Thank you, Sensei.”

“Of course. Please let him know that we all are hoping for a speedy recovery.”

With that, he hobbles back outside, teacup in hand. You start to finish up Kai’s tea and toast when suddenly you’re distracted by the sound of your phone going off:

Hot Stuff: help

Hot Stuff: i need a hug

Hot Stuff: ;-;

Oh no! You’d better get his snack and tea finished quickly! Once you’re done, you grasp the hot cup of tea securely with one hand while gripping the plate of toast while another. With that, you walk to Kai’s room, seeing him sitting up against the headboard.

“Here you go, babe. The tea is really hot, so be careful.”

Kai shrugs, taking a sip. You should’ve known – hot liquids don’t affect him.

“Eh. Kinda warm,” he remarks with a small smile.

“Try freshly boiled,” you mumble while shaking your head. He sets the cup and plate on his nightstand before he opens his arms.

You smile softly, climbing into his lap and giving him a hug.

“I feel really conflicted doing this,” Kai mumbles into your hair. “Because on one hand, I wanna be really selfish and hug you a lot, but on the other hand…I don’t wanna make you sick.”

“Everyone needs a hug while they’re sick,” you say, noting just how hot his skin is. “Make sure you drink your tea, baby.”

“I will. Thank you,” he mumbles, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “Can we watch cartoons all day?”

“Babe,” you say in a fake serious voice. “Of course we can.”

Chapter 4: confessions of a dragon (cole x reader)

Chapter Text

good-from-all-sides asked:

(I apologize if there are mistakes in my letter, English is not my native language) Hi!! How are you? I hope that everything is fine, because I brought you an idea!! Imagine, the Reader is an ancient dragon who can become a human(provided that his fluffy tail and horns remain) x Cole.

The reader takes care of the black ninja, but according to his traditions, for example, the reader gives him precious treasures, can give him a touch of horns or a fluffy tail.

I think that would be pretty damn cute<3

Hello! I’m doing well, thank you for asking!! Your English looks fine to me :D Sounds like a cute idea!! I hope you enjoy!

Pairing: Cole x Dragon!Reader

Warnings: none

Score! This is gonna go perfectly with your collection.

You beam as you hold up a set of golden pauldrons – likely Lloyd’s. Or maybe Kai’s. You don’t really remember, nor do you care. The set of sparkling golden shoulder armor had been far too gorgeous for you to resist.

Decision made, you hug to your chest and dash back inside your room, where you close your door and approach your pile of golden treasures. From coins to jewelry to dishes, you had a wide array of items. You’re proud of every single one!

“You go right there…” you mumble, setting the pauldron set on top. “Yay!”

Looking good! Now, there’s something important that you have to do. The thought of the task sends your tummy into a twisty knot, but you have to do it. You frown, shuffling through some of your treasures.

What would he like? I need to pick something special!

With that, you begin searching your pile for something that strikes your eye. Well, all of your finds are dear to you, but you need something special.

After a few minutes of digging, your gaze falls on a necklace that you had found a while ago. Curiosity piqued, you pick it up.

I think this is the one… you think, fingers tracing the charm. It’s a golden lily flower with intricate silver engravings. For some reason, you think Cole would like it.

“It reminds me of him,” you mumble, clutching it to your chest as you remember the day you’d met the Master of Earth. It had been a sunny day, and you were stumbling through the forest, trying to become acquainted with your human vessel. He helped you navigate your new surroundings, and eventually, you realized you valued him as more than a friend. And only now have you built the courage to tell him.

“I will not back down now!” you say to yourself determinedly as you exit your room, initiating your search for the black ninja.

Soon enough, you find him standing on the deck of the ship, silently gazing at the horizon. Your heart begins racing (a sensation you’re still trying to get used to) as you approach him.

“Excuse me?” you prompt, causing him to turn.

As soon as he sees you, he smiles. “Hey! What’s up?”

“I…have a gift for you,” you reply, hands behind your back.

“Another one?” he teases, a sly smile on his lips.

“This-this one is special!” you demand, a strange heat rising on your cheeks. That happens a lot when you’re around him, and you still haven’t quite figured out what it means.

“What’s the occasion?”

“I found a special article of jewelry that strongly reminded me of you when I picked it out. I hope you will accept it as my token of appreciation for you guiding me through this foreign land and accepting me as I am.”

With that, you gingerly place the necklace within his palm. He glances at you before viewing it, eyes widening as he studies it.

“It…it’s a…”

“A lily flower, no?”

“Yeah…”

Your heart beings pounding as he stares at it, still not reacting. Does he not like it?

“Is something the matter?” you question worriedly.

“Oh, uh, no. I…I love it,” he mumbles, grinning with glassy eyes. “It reminds me of someone.”

The tension in you eases as he utters those words. “I’m glad.”

“Thank you,” he mumbles, pocketing it. “I appreciate it.”

“And I…I appreciate you!” you say, throwing your arms around his neck.

“Woah!” Cole stumbles a little but returns the embrace. “I appreciate you, too.”

Chapter 5: dance in the kitchen (zane x reader)

Chapter Text

mikasasummer asked:

Hi! Me again, from the sick Kai fic request, which I absolutely loved!

When i saw that there was no Zane ones I decided to ask for one instead 😅.

So I was wondering if you could do one where both Zane and the reader are cooking together and are just all romantic and fluffy. Like a song plays on the radio and they start dancing together a little or a classic back hug while one of them is doing something?

Hello! I’m so glad you enjoyed the Kai one :D I hope you enjoy this one too. I hope it turned out okay considering this is my first time writing for Zane lol

Pairing: Zane x Reader

Warnings: none

If there’s one thing you love, it’s your bubble.

When the chaotic nature of the people you have come to love so dearly shows, you realize you need to just take a step back sometimes. Your friends have come to understand this over the time you’ve known them, so they’d often let you have the space you so dearly appreciate.

No one had ever worked their way into your bubble. At least, not before you met a certain Nindroid.

Zane was the quiet ninja - always collected with a logical approach to everything. That was part of his allure when you first met him that fateful day. You were initially too shy to talk to him at first, but after some gentle probing on his end, the two of you became close friends. And many months later, after much nagging from the ninja, Zane asked you on a date. A sweet and gentle date where you had gently kissed his cheek for the very first time - it would only be one of many to come in the following months.

Which leads you to your current position - helping Zane chop an array of veggies for tonight’s dinner as a soft hum emanates from your lips. You hear your boyfriend swiftly working behind you as the loud laughs and shouts from your friends originates from the room outside of the kitchen. A tune plays from the speaker positioned at the end of the counter.

“They’re rowdier than usual tonight, aren’t they?” you remark, swiping a chopped bell pepper off of the cutting board and onto a plate.

“Indeed they are,” Zane replies, tone soft as he works.

You chuckle lightly before picking up the plate of veggies and setting it beside Zane.

“Here you are,” you say. “Is there anything else I can help with?”

Zane smiles, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. “Would you mind washing the lettuce and preparing the salad ingredients?”

“Sure thing,” you respond, grinning.

“Thank you, my love. Your help does not go unappreciated.”

“You’re very welcome,” you reply, sneaking in a kiss to his metallic cheek before you head over to the fridge, grabbing all of the items you’ll need. Once you’re prepared, you begin running the lettuce heads underneath cold water, resuming your hum.

A few minutes later, you notice that a song you enjoy begins playing from your speaker. A small smile creeps across your lips as you feel Zane sneaking his arms around your waist, his chest pressing into your back. He buries his chin into the crook of your neck.

“You enjoy this song, correct?”

“I do,” you reply, relaxing against him.

“In that case, may I have this dance?”

He separates from you, offering his hand. You giggle slightly as you accept his hand. “Of course.”

His larger hand envelops yours quite easily, and he pulls you close as he settles one hand around your waist. The two of you begin swaying to the beat.

Zane pulls away shortly after, his grasp on your hand remaining. He lifts your hand above your hand, prompting you to twirl. You giggle slightly. As classy as Zane is, he could still be such a dork in his own way sometimes.

Soon enough, the song ends and you’re left in Zane’s embrace.

“That was fun!” you chirp, smiling.

“I agree,” he responds, bending down so he can kiss you again.

“You are so cute,” you gush, pulling him in for a hug.

“I am not cute. You are the adorable one.”

“Hush, you. Let’s finish up, yeah?”

Heya! Just discovered your page and gotta say, I love your posts! Would it be alright to ask for a fic where the ninja (or one of them. I'm okay with either all or just one of them) find reader (who is a nindroid like Zane and Pixal) broken (physically) somewhere in a forest and decide to take them back and attempt to repair them and once they do, they find out reader is just a really precious nindroid who has no clue of anything? Sorry if I'm asking for too much. Hope your day is going well and you are taking care of yourself!

You open your eyes, sitting upright with a gasp.

“And she is back online,” comes an unfamiliar voice. You spy three people standing in front of you.

The man who spoke first smiles softly as he places a hand on your shoulder; he has lightly-colored hair with icy blue eyes. “Hello. You are safe now. We found you dismantled in a forest while on a mission.”

“Dismantled?” you wonder, studying him.

“Yes. Many of your processors and sensors were nearly damaged beyond repair. Fortunately, approximately half of our team specializes in robotics and technology. Do you have a name?”

“A…name?” you mumble, frowning.

“I don’t think her old memory banks are functioning,” a raven-haired girl comments with a frown. “Jay, look.”

She hands what appears to be your memory drive over to the boy seated next to her. He examines it for a moment before nodding in agreement. “Yeah, I don’t think she’s gonna be able to get her memories back until we get this fixed. Which, by the looks of it, is gonna take some time. For now, though, the one we have in her now will work ‘till we can get this thing fixed.”

“So you must not remember your name, then,” the boy in front of you comments. “Well, we can get that sorted later. I am Zane, and the two behind me are Nya and Jay.”

“We found you in really bad shape last night, and we’ve all been working to get you fixed since,” Jay explains.

“I…don’t remember anything,” you say. “I only know my model and creator.”

“Yeah, we thought so. Like we said, we’ll have to get your memory drive fixed,” Nya says.

“But do not worry. We will get it fixed as fast as we can, and you are more than welcome to stay with us while it is being repaired.”

“You have my gratitude,” you say. “But how did you find a power source? My model requires a specific version.”

“Zane has a power source that apparently is great for nindroids of all models,” Jay says, chuckling. “No one is really sure what it is, or how it was made.”

“I see,” you reply. “Well, thank you for taking the time to repair me.”

“You are welcome. Now, allow me to introduce you to our team.”

That had been about two weeks ago ever since, you had grown to become friends with the ninja as they taught you about all of the things you’d forgotten:

“Take that!”

“No…no! Why don’t you take THAT!”

“Hahaha, suck it Kai!”

You observe as the ninja game intensely. While you don’t quite understand what it is they’re playing, it does look like they’re having fun.

“Aw, man…” Lloyd says, setting his controller down as the game ends. “No fair!”

“Yeah, he totally che-HAHAHA! Look at Kai’s score!”

Upon the prompt, you glance at the screen.

C – 56

J – 58

K – 69

Z – 63

L – 61

With that, Kai snickers while Jay and Cole chuckle.

“Ugh, why did you have to tell me what that number means?!” Lloyd pouts, looking away. “You guys are stupid.”

“I don’t understand,” you say as the guys turn to you. “What is so funny about the number sixty-nine?”

They all pause for a split second before Kai breaks out into a devilish grin. Cole sighs, standing up and walking behind you.

“I’m gonna tell her-“

“Nope,” Cole replies, covering your ears. “Don’t even think about it.”

The boys bicker for a bit longer before Nya summons them to the Bounty. With that, the topic is dropped.

“Kai? What does that number mean? You clearly know.”

He chuckles, patting your shoulder. “It’s just a joke. That number is the name of sexual position.”

“Oh. That is quite immature.”

“I know. Still funny, though.”

“If you say so. Thank you for telling me.”

“No problem.”

“Hey there!”

You look over to the source, finding Jay sitting in front of the TV.

“Hello, Jay. What are you doing?”

“Playing video games while the others are out. Wanna join?”

“I appreciate the invitation but I have no knowledge of these…games.”

“C’mon over here, I’ll teach you!”

You hesitantly go to sit next to Jay. He hands you a controller, smiling.

“Alright, so we’ll start out with a simple game. Hmm…let’s try Minecraft.”

“Mine…craft?”

“Yeah! Here, let me get it started.”

You watch the screen as it starts loading the mentioned game.

“This game is pretty much just about building stuff. There’s more you can do, but for now we’ll just get you acquainted with the controls.”

“Very well.”

Once the game menu appears, Jay presses a few buttons before another loading screen appears. Soon enough, the game loads into view.

“Alright, nobody likes playing split screen so I’m going to join the world on my phone. While I get connected, practice moving around with the joystick.”

He taps the stick on your controller, pushing it forward. As it tilts forward, your avatar moves straight ahead.

“There you go! Now, see that tree over there? Walk it up to it, then press this button.”

You follow his instructions, approaching the tree before pressing the button. One block of the tree begins cracking.

“There, now you have a block of wood! Do the same thing for the rest of the tree. I should be in by the time you get it down.”

With that, your avatar punches the rest of the tree down before you turn, seeing Jay’s avatar behind you. He crouches up and down a few times before jumping.

“Come on, let’s go look for a good spot to set up base!”

After about an hour of playing, you and Jay have made a solid base together!

“We made some good progress!” Jay cheers, grinning. “You did well! Maybe next time we can turn it to easy mode so we can get some mob loot.”

“That sounds fun,” you note, smiling. Jay takes the controller and exits the game. “Thank you for teaching me how to play.”

“No problem! Maybe we can get Lloyd to join next time.”

You study Cole’s snack with an intrigued gaze. Zane has told you the negative effects of such sugary sweets, and yet you still don’t understand why Cole continues to eat it.

“Something on your mind?” the black ninja questions, shoveling another piece of cake into his mouth.

“Why do you eat that?”

“Because it tastes amazing.”

“But sugar is not good for you,” you say. “Why eat it if sugar has no positive effects for yourself?”

“Well…that’s true, but sugar is a treat. Almost everyone I know likes sugar. And it won’t hurt you as long as you eat it in moderation.”

“A treat?”

He sets his fork down to gesture vaguely with his next explanation. “Yeah…you know, everyone who works hard needs to reward themselves every now and then. I do it with cake, and Jay and Lloyd use candy. Well, pretty much anything sweet. My favorite is cake.”

“So you reward hard work with food that does nothing for your body nutritionally speaking?”

He sighs and chuckles a bit. “Kind of? But there’s more to it than that. A lot of people really like sweets but know that they shouldn’t eat sweet things all of the time. So, it’s used to celebrate special occasions.”

“I…suppose that makes sense,” you reply. “Thank you for your explanation.”

He chuckles, returning to his dessert. “You’re welcome.”

“Why do they call us nindroids?”

Zane chuckles as he chops veggies, turning to you. “That is merely their term for us. I believe Jay was the one to originally grant it to me.”

You study Zane for a moment. “Your design is interesting. It is not registered within Cyrus Borg’s database, and yet…”

“My father was a brilliant man,” he answers.

You smile softly. “May I ask you a question?”

“Of course.”

“You are the only one here who is…like me,” you start. “With my memory drive being repaired, I cannot help but wonder…I feel like I have trouble understanding them.”

He smiles softly. “I know the feeling. And trust me when I say that we have had our fair share of misunderstandings. It is a natural process, one that will sort itself out. Do not let that phase you, for while we are not built to interpret emotion, it is our consciousness that allows us to do so anyways. I think that in itself is a gift.”

“You are right. Thank you, Zane.”

“Of course.”

“What are you doing?”

Lloyd chuckles, standing up from his position next to a box of water balloons. “I’m gonna prank Kai.”

“Why?”

“Because he beat my high score!”

“That sounds quite petty.”

“It’s not petty! Here…want to help?”

“Why?”

“It’ll be fun!”

“I suppose so….”

Lloyd grins, kneeling next to his stash of balloons. “The plan is simple. When he comes through the door, throw water balloons at him.”

“Noted.”

With that, you crouch next to Lloyd.

“I fail to understand your petty need to seek revenge for such a trivial matter.”

He chuckles, arming himself with two water balloons. “It’s okay. All you gotta do is throw as many of these at him as you can.”

With that, you two silently wait for the hotheaded ninja to emerge. It takes him a few minutes, but once he arrives, Lloyd smirks as he prepares his throw. The door opens, and as soon as Kai steps out, Lloyd throws his balloon.

“AH! Dammit, Lloyd!”

“Keep throwing them!” Lloyd urges. You sigh, tossing one at Kai.

“Ow, ow, ow, ow! Damn, she hits hard!”

Lloyd cackles as the two of you continue your assault. Kai yells something about messing up his hair as he runs back inside.

“Yes! We won!” Lloyd cheers.

“We did?”

“Yeah! Normally he comes over and tries to beat me up, but I think you scared him away!”

“I did…?”

“Yeah! Thanks!”

“Alright, how are you feeling?”

“I believe it will take a bit of time for my system to download all of the information from my memory drive, but I can tell it’s functioning again.”

“That’s good,” Nya says, setting down her toolkit. “Jay managed to get into contact with Cyrus Borg. Zane is going to drop you back off at Borg Tower once your memory is downloaded. Though, we just want you to know that you’re welcome back here anytime.”

“Thank you so much for your help,” you reply, smiling. “I appreciate your hospitality.”

“You’re welcome. Now, Zane is waiting for you. Once you arrive back at Borg Tower, Cyrus Borg will examine your system to make sure that we didn’t miss any subtle damage.”

You nod. “I am…going to miss you all.”

Nya smiles sadly. “We’re gonna miss you too. But we’ll visit, and you’re always welcome to stay here whenever you like.”

With that, Zane enters and informs you that it’s time for you to go. You bid everyone goodbye, realizing that Zane was right. Consciousness is truly a gift, and it’s the different between being a mindless android and becoming human.

Chapter 7: breaking up (kai x reader)

Chapter Text

Anonymous asked;

Ninjago x reader, a very angsty fic where includes a line that is "Did you ever love me?" Idk which one, you choose.

Hey! Sorry this one took so long, but it’s finally here! I hope you enjoy. I decided to go with Kai for this one since I’ve not written much for him.

Pairing: Kai x Reader

Warning: breaking up, cheating, angst, OOC Kai

You know something’s changing.

It’s an unknown despair welling in your tummy, brewing into something nasty. It started early this morning, when you had awakened next to your lover as normal. Shirt missing in action, hair a tangled mess, tongue poking out adorably…it was Kai. It was normal. You had smiled, studying him for a few moments before pressing a gentle good morning kiss to his temple.

He had stirred slightly, groaning a bit as you giggled and kissed his cheek. You waited until he opened his eyes…

…and when he did? Well, it threw you off big time. Mostly because his eyes just seemed…dull. You had never seen him like that until that moment.

And it worried you.

“Kai?” you’d mumbled, frowning as he stared at you with that blank stare. It was unnerving - mostly because you weren’t sure what the problem was. “Are you feeling okay?”

“I’m fine,” he muttered.

“I can tell something’s wrong,” you replied, sitting up as you pushed the blankets away. “What is it? You know I won’t judge.”

“I don’t wanna talk about it.”

At that point, the feeling started gathering in your stomach. You should have listened to it - to him - and stopped prying, but you were worried. This wasn’t like him at all.

“Kai…you know I won’t-”

“You said that already,” he snapped, turning over. “I don’t want to talk.”

“I’m worried about you. This isn’t like you, babe.”

“I told you, I’m fine.”

At that point, you weren’t sure what else to say, or what to do. He clearly didn’t want you around, so you decided to see if Zane needed help with breakfast.

Which is what you’re doing now.

You quietly line plates around the dining room table, counting to make sure you had brought enough. After confirming you have the right number, you move to silverware. Once you make your way over to the kitchen drawer, you pick out all of the utensils needed before closing it with your hip. Your exterior may be calm, but inside you’re not doing very well.

You’ve been racking your brain trying to think of what could be wrong. Is Kai mad at you? If so, why? Even though he had been acting a little off lately, it was nothing compared to this morning. Before it had been failing to answer your calls and texts, being distant, things like that. But now you’re starting to realize…

He’s losing interest.

That thought alone makes your heart quiver. Is that really the case? You frown, clenching the silverware tighter. You won’t jump to any conclusions just yet, but if that’s what’s happening then he should just tell you.

You drift away in your thoughts, not noticing when Zane starts calling everyone down. You finish setting up the last dish before transferring all of the food to the table.

Soon enough, everyone starts flooding in and taking their seat. Once you’re finished setting up the table, you gather up your courage and have a seat alongside everyone, not daring to make eye contact with Kai during the meal.

It seems as if the offness between you and Kai was more palpable than you thought, because you caught some of your friends casting you worried glances. None of them dared to pry yet, though, which you’re grateful for.

You sigh, deciding to sit on the deck of the Bounty for a while. Curling your knees to your chest, you bury your chin in your arms as tears prick the corners of your eyes. If he didn’t want to be with you anymore, he should just tell you. You just want to bite the bullet and get it over with. Anything would be better than the turmoil brewing in your stomach.

A few moments later, you hear someone coming to sit beside you. Upon turning your head, you find that Nya’s there.

“Hey,” she greets, scooting close to you. You detect sympathy dripping from her tone, which makes you curious for what she’s about to say.

“Hey,” you mumble, rubbing your forehead.

“Kai’s been acting weird. I know, I noticed too. We all have.”

“Yeah…I don’t know what’s wrong, though. I wish he would just tell me what’s wrong, but…” you sigh, taking a shaky breath as the tears start dripping down your cheeks. “I could tell he was getting mad at me when I tried to figure out what was wrong this morning. Do you know why he’s…?”

Nya nods, biting her lip as a strained expression appears on her face. “I do. But I’m going to drag his ass over here so he can man up and tell you to your face.”

You feel your heart skip a beat as she starts rubbing circles on your shoulders. “Hey…I know it’s hard, but things are going to get better.”

“He’s going to break up with me. I can tell - he’s been losing interest, and he’s probably been talking to Skylor -”

“Listen to me,” she starts, taking your hand in hers. “I…really don’t know what’s been going on between you two, but…when I get him to talk to you, whatever happens is going to be for the best. I know my brother’s been an ass lately, and I’m having a hard time understanding why he’s acting the way he has been, but still…you deserve better. You deserve to be happy, and I really feel like this talk is going to be good for you both.”

“But…I still love him,” you mumble, voice soft. “I didn’t even realize anything was wrong until his change in behavior.”

“I know…” she replies, going to give you a side hug. “Everything’s going to be okay. Just get the hard part out of the way so you can figure out what your next move is, alright?”

You nod, willing yourself not to shake.

“Okay. I’m going to go get him. Are you okay with that, or do you want to wait?”

“Let’s just get it over with. Though, I might need you to take me home afterwards,” you mutter, closing your eyes and taking a breath.

She nods as she stands. “Of course. Text me if you need me. I’ll be inside, not too far away.” With that, she makes her way towards the entrance.

You really wish you could stop crying, but you can’t. Your heart is racing, thoughts consuming you as you realize what’s about to happen.

You can feel it deep within your heart, and it’s already tearing you apart. The few minutes you’re alone feel like hours as your anxiety only increases.

Shortly after, you hear the door swinging open again. You turn, chest tightening as you see Kai standing there. His blank expression unnerves you as he purposely avoids your stare, slowly walking over.

You turn towards the horizon once more, wiping away at your eyes. Okay. Time to get it over with no matter how badly it may hurt.

You sense when he stops, a few feet behind you. The tension is thick, and you can’t stand it.

“So,” you mutter, fidgeting. “What’s going on with you?”

“I…” Kai sighs. “Look…I’m sorry about this morning, and how I’ve been treating you. I know it wasn’t right, but…at the same time, I can’t keep lying to myself.”

“You’re with Skylor now, aren’t you?” you mumble, the name of your friend dripping like lead from your lips.

“…Yeah,” he replies, a hint of something creeping in his tone. “The truth is…I like you. You’re sweet, intelligent, funny…”

“…but you’ve been losing interest,” you finish, a bitter chuckle escaping you. “Why did you drag it out this long?”

“Because I was scared,” he confesses. “It was wrong of me, I know.”

“How long have you been with her?”

“Almost a month now.”

“A month,” you breathe, eyes widening. For a month, he had only been pretending to be interested. That had evidently waned as of late…but a month? How did you not see it sooner?

“Nya only found out yesterday,” he replies, sighing.

“A month…tell me one thing.” You turn to make eye contact with him, not even bothering to hide the hurt expression on your face. “Did you ever love me?”

Kai remains silent for a few seconds, looking to the floor. “I did, but…I don’t love you in a romantic sense anymore. I’m sorry.”

You huff a humorless laugh, slipping your phone out of your pocket as you open Nya’s contact. “Okay. I’m done.”

Please take me home, you type to the Master of Water. Kai remains still for a few more seconds before turning and walking away, leaving you to mend your broken heart.

"Hello I’m wondering if u can do a Zane or cole x reader can turn into a fnaf animictonic like they don’t use that form unless their preforming in a talent show and they find out some how they fond out about it so can u do some thing alone those lines if this is to comulated or confusing or u don’t want to do this I understand"

A/N: Hello! So, I have watched playthroughs of the FNAF series but I’m not heavy into the lore so I might have messed up some details? I do know the general gist of the series so I hope it turned out alright. Lastly, I decided to make this take place during the first game. I also decided to leave reader’s origin story and how she transforms up to interpretation, so those are not listed in the fic. I hope you enjoy, and I apologize that this took so long for me to finish.

Pairing: Zane x Animatronic!Reader

Warnings: cussing, mild violence

...

You had awakened thinking it’d be just another day.

Another day of performing, catering to the fragile audience you’d been granted. That’s how it started out, at least – but something changed the moment you heard the bell above the door jingle as a new set of customers enter. You continue your performance, but glance at the newcomers.

It’s not easy to miss them. After all, they stick out like a sore thumb among all of the cheering children in your audience. They’re all teenagers – six of them. Probably just here to pick up siblings, or as a dare. Or something else. You’re not sure, since teens trickle in every now and then for various reasons. Despite their entrance, you keep on going with your show, checking in on them every now and then. It seems like they leave fairly quickly, though, which strikes you as odd.

Their appearance gradually slips your mind as you keep pressing on – performance after performance. By the time the restaurant closes, you’re drained. You’re grateful when the lights turn off, but sigh when you see the night shift worker clocking in. You know he probably won’t last long, considering your friends will be trying to get into his office, but there’s not much you can do but try to help him when you can and leave him be.

The darkness of the night envelopes the restaurant, and soon enough, you’re left in the stifling silence you had grown so used to. Part of you wants to wander the halls, but you know that would probably worry the guard. He has enough on his hands as it is. Even so, it seems like he had become proficient in handling your fellow animatronics.

You decide to wait for Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie to leave the stage. When they’re gone, you enter and sit down on the stage, hoping that the security guard will fare well tonight.

Your plan is to try and fall asleep, but that’s discarded when a flash of white catches your attention. At first, you thought it could have been Chica, but she wasn’t that fast. You frown, slipping off of the edge of the stage as you slowly the approach the spot.

“Who’s there?” you question. “I saw you.”

You hear someone shuffling, and sure enough, a man in white emerges from his hiding spot. You notice that he’s tense and standing in a battle stance.

“Relax, I’m not like the others,” you assure, raising your hands in front of you.

“What do you mean? You are an animatronic too, no?”

“I am, but I’m also part human. I only use my animatronic form when I’m performing.” You frown, studying him for a moment. “Wait a second…I saw you in a newspaper the other day. You’re one of the ninja, right?”

“I am. My name is Zane. We received a distress message from an employer of this location detailing how the animatronics become violent at night. I was sent to investigate. What do you know about that?”

“Oh…yeah. The other animatronics here are actually possessed by children who were killed here long ago,” you explain, a bitter frown on your face. “They try to attack the night guard here, but he’s found a way to prevent them from entering his office. They’re probably about to reach him now, if you want me to show you the way.”

Zane nods. “Please do.”

With that, you break out in a run, guiding Zane through the hallways. Soon enough, you approach Pirate’s Cove, where you hear Foxy shuffling around.

“Foxy is in there,” you say, pointing inside the room. Zane nods, instructing you to stay back before he enters the room.

“Reveal yourself!” he instructs, prompting Foxy to exit the curtains. Zane wastes no time and raises his arms, causing a bright icy blue light to blind you momentarily. Once it dies down, you see that Zane has frozen Foxy completely solid.

“Nice!” you say, smiling as your heart starts racing. You…might actually be able to get out of this place! “Come on, Bonnie is probably close by.”

With that, you lead Zane to the hallway near the guard’s office. You spot Bonnie banging on the closed door. Zane immediately freezes him, which causes you to look up at the security camera.

“Hey, night shift guard!” you call, waving your arms. “Open the left door. The Master of Ice is here to help you!”

A few moments pass before you hear the door whirring open. Zane enters first, pushing the frozen animatronic over on its side so you can go in as well.

“Thank god you came,” the night shift guard comments. “Chica is really close, and I know Freddy is coming too…”

“Do not fear. I will take care of them.” Zane turns to you, his masked eyes enforcing the serious tone of his voice. “Will you stay with him while I finish the other two off?”

You nod, and with that, Zane runs off.

“How much power do you have left?” you question.

“About thirteen percent,” he replies, checking his camera.

“Close the doors. Once Zane is done with them, the power won’t matter anymore. We may as well play it safe.”

“I agree.” With that, he pushes the buttons so that both of the doors are closed. “Hey, while you’re here. Why didn’t you attack me?”

“Because, I’m not like the other four,” you say, smiling softly. “The child that possesses me is gentle. I have retained most of my humanity throughout all of these years, unlike them. Their spirits grew hostile and bloodthirsty.”

“Well…thank you,” he says. “I’m glad I won’t have to deal with this job anymore.”

“I can’t imagine how stressful it’s been. I’m sorry I could never help you out more – I didn’t want to scare you into draining your power, but I also knew I wouldn’t be able to stop them.”

“It’s okay. Once I got the hang of things, it wasn’t terribly hard. I appreciate you respecting the power, though. That was tough.”

“I bet.” A few moments later, you hear knocking emerging. The guard quickly checks the camera, seeing Zane standing outside. He opens the door.

“The two of you are able to come out safely now. The other two animatronics have been eliminated.”

“Thank you so much,” the guard says as the two of you exit the office. You lead the way to the exit, a refreshing lightness entering your heart. “I doubt management is going to be happy about this, but I’m glad this is all over.”

“You are most welcome. Once I send the police commissioner the recordings from the last few nights, your employer will have no choice but to dismantle and destroy the animatronics. The restaurant will likely have to be shut down as well. You are safe now.”

“I appreciate it. I guess I’ll head out now. Do you need my number or anything? I can probably be a witness if you need it.”

“We have your contact information on hand in case that is needed. For the time being though, you should be in the clear. A member of my team is waiting outside to walk you home.”

The guard nods, bidding the two of you goodnight as he exits. You can’t help but smile widely, turning to Zane.

“Thank you, Zane,” you say, going to hug him tightly. “You don’t know how much this means to me. This place is so dark…so cold. I’ve felt horrible here, and I couldn’t leave. Not until Freddy’s spirit was freed since his tie here is the strongest. Now that his chain has been shattered, I can move on.”

He smiles, returning your embrace lightly. “You are welcome. I am glad you are able to start over with your life.”

You pull back, staring into his eyes for a moment. “Can you take your mask off for a moment?”

He remains silent, but obeys. You press a gentle kiss to his cheek, giggling when you feel him stiffening.

That was the night you were released from the hell you’d been subjected to for so long.

Notes:

A/N: This request was requested before I added the “No crossovers rule”, and since I am familiar with FNAF, I decided to write it. However, no more crossover requests will be accepted. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this!

Chapter Text

Anonymous asked:

"hi babe!! if you're accepting requests for ninjago, could i ask for a super angsty cole x reader where the reader almost dies and cole barely manages to save her?"

It was supposed to be a simple job; the home-in-time-for-dinner type of easy.

And, in a way, it was easy - at first. It was a stereotypical group of bandits robbing a bank, equipped with bats and crowbars. The battle started out smoothly - no elemental powers were really needed at the moment. The team’s years’ worth of training was doing nicely thus far.

Cole had finished taking down a criminal with a simple aikido technique, pairing the takedown with an immediate jiu jitsu submission that had the thug going limp instantly. Discarding the unconscious crook to the side, Cole looks around to see the rest of his team finishing off the rest of the group. Nice, looks like the job would be done earlier than expected.

“Is that all of them?” Jay asks, looking around.

“I think so,” Kai answers, frowning. “That sucked. They didn’t even really put up a fight.”

“Tell me about it,” you say, rolling your eyes as you yank your mask off. Cole averts his gaze, willing himself not to blush at the girl he has fallen deeply in love with. You just look so beautiful in your armor, with your weapon still sheathed.

He looks up a few seconds later, only to find you gazing at him with a soft smile. His eyes widen as he looks away, nervousness suddenly coursing through him. Oh, how he wishes he could gather the courage to tell you how he feels.

“Hey,” you say, stepping towards him. “I saw how you paired that takedown with the choke. You need to teach me how to do that, it was sick! And that transition was so smooth!”

“O-Oh, yeah. Thanks. I’ll teach you when we get back home?” he offers, prompting a nod from you.

He frowns upon hearing the snickering of his friends, turning to glare at Kai when the brunet mimics in a high-pitched voice: “Cole! You’re so hot! Teach me that takedown UwU!”

“Shut the fuck up,” you say, glaring at the Master of Fire before snatching a rock off the ground and throwing it at him.

“Oww, ow ow ow ow!” Kai yelps, backing away. “Okay, okay, fine!”

“We should get back to the monastery, guys,” Lloyd reminds, ever-so-responsible.

“Ugh, but Sensei’s just going to make us train!” Jay yells.

“Why? Scared I’ll armbar you again?” Nya taunts the redhead, a sadistic smile on her face. Cole chuckles at Jay’s frightened expression. If there was one thing the guys had learned about the girls of the team, it was not to piss them off during sparring time. Just in general, really.

Cole tunes into the banter for a few more moments, but seconds later, he feels a dreadful pit fill his stomach as his heart starts racing. His expression falls as he turns away from his team, surveying the crowd of fallen foes.

“Cole? What’s wrong?” Zane questions, stepping towards the troubled Master of Earth.

“I-I don’t-” Cole stops dead in the middle of his sentence as his attention settles on a fallen robber, who’s pulling something out of his inner jacket. Cole’s heart stops as he lunges to shoot a blast of elemental energy at the man’s hand, realizing that he has a handgun.

Cole is too late.

Moments before Cole’s blast of boulders collide with the man, the culprit manages to pull the trigger, causing a loud BANG! to echo throughout the bank.

As soon as the shot fires, Cole can only hear ringing in his ears. It was such a foreign sound - guns were rarely used by criminals. As a result, the ninja simply weren’t used to them. Sure, they’d learned gun defenses, but they were essentially useless when the attack was sudden and from a long range. Even so, he forces himself to look around - did the shot hit someone? Did his blast stop the shot, or at least misdirect it?

The ringing in his ears begins to throb once he sees you falling forward, a shocked expression on your face. He lunges forward, muscle memory taking over as he catches you before you can hit the ground. The screams of his teammates are muffled as Cole stares at you, eyes wide in terror.

Stop panicking and do something.

His eyes shift to the wound - a single shot, one that has an exit wound right below your collarbone.

“No,” he mumbles, immediately going to put pressure on the wound. Pressure. That’s the first that comes to mind as he presses down on the wound, wincing when he hears you whimpering. His arms are shaking, but he keeps pushing. He has to get the bleeding to stop, and considering that the entry wound is on your back, his method isn’t working too well at the moment.

Cole closes his eyes, hands still on the wound as he concentrates his elemental power. The desperation leaking from his heart is enough to power a magic he hadn’t thought he had possessed. He doesn’t care about it at the moment, though, because his vision is blurred with tears. He can’t lose you. Not after he lost his mother all those years ago. He refuses to let you go - not yet. There’s so much he has to say, so much you have to do. It’s not right, and this will not be your end.

A few tears fall out of his eyes as his stare shifts to your eyes, finding that you’re watching him through a lidded gaze. You try to speak, but you can’t talk. He spots your hand coming up to rub his right cheek. Cole can’t help but cry harder upon feeling the wet blood smeared on his cheek now.

“You’re gonna be okay,” he chokes out, lifting his hands off of your wound. He finds that the narrow hole has been packed with what appears to be some type of crystal. He decides to figure that out later, just grateful that the bleeding has stopped. He quietly scoops you into his arms, bringing his forehead to yours as more tears line his lower eyelid.

“You are going to be just fine, do you understand me? Don’t you even think about walking out on us now,” Cole says. “Help is almost here.”

He doesn’t know how much time passes as he holds you, checking to make sure the bleeding is still stopped every few minutes. Voices pass, but he can’t distinguish anything. It takes Kai jerking the Master of Earth’s shoulder for him to snap back into reality.

“Cole!” Kai yells. “The ambulance is here! Get her in!”

With that, Cole nods, standing up with you in his arms. The emergency medical team gestures for him to set you down on the gurney, watching as they strap you to it,

“You need to come with us,” one of the workers says as they lift the gurney into the ambulance. “Once we get her checked out, we’ll need you to remove whatever her wound is packed with, since it’s your element.”

Cole nods, following the worker into the ambulance. With that, the doors close as the vehicle takes off.

All he can focus on is how limp your hand is. How relaxed your face is despite being so close to death. He tightens his grip on your hand, heart pounding once the hospital is reached and you’re taken away from him.

“Mr. Brookstone?”

Cole snaps his head towards the voice. A doctor stands nearby, holding a clipboard in his hand.

“How is she?” the ninja answers, standing.

“Well…she’s doing fantastically considering how bad the wound was. We got it cleaned and stable in no time. Now, she just has to keep it clean and rest.”

“Good,” Cole says, releasing a breath he wasn’t aware he was holding. “Good. Can I see her?”

“Yes, you may.”

Cole quickly thanks the doctor before walking over to your room, opening the door a bit harsher than he meant to. He spies you on the bed, fast asleep. A small smile lines his face as he shuts the door, walking over to your bed.

He pulls a chair over and sits down, watching you for a moment. The smile lingers as he gently rubs your cheek, taking your hand in his free one.Stars, you’re the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. So strong, brave, and smart…and you’re okay. You’re alive, and you’re healing.

He keeps watching you for a minute when he sees you stirring, eyes fluttering open. A relieved smile appears on his lips as he tightens his grip on your hand.

“Hey,” he starts, causing your head to turn.

“Cole?” you mumble, looking around. “What…?”

“You were shot when we were handling that robbery,” he explains. “So, I stopped the bleeding on your wound while the ambulance came. I think you’ve been unconscious ever since.”

“Oh…” you mumble. “Well, I’m sure I have tons of painkillers in my system right now considering that I can’t feel any pain in my shoulder, but…thank you, Cole.”

“Of course,” he says, heart fluttering when he feels you squeezing his hand weakly.

The two of you remain silent for a moment, simply gazing into each other’s eyes. Cole can tell you’re thinking about the same thing he is - the amount of unspoken feelings present. He feels your thumb rubbing the skin of his hand gently.

“I…uh…” Cole trails off, not knowing where to start.

You giggle, sitting up a bit straighter. “You don’t have to speak. Just kiss me.”

“H-Huh?!”

“Kiss me, you squishy earthworm.”

A blush spreads across Cole’s cheek, but he also grins. You want him to kiss you. Well, that certainly simplifies things.

At first, he’s not sure how to initiate it, but he settles for leaning in until his forehead presses against yours. You’re gazing at him softly, smiling the smile that never failed to unleash mounds of butterflies in his tummy. Part of him starts freaking out, wondering if he would screw it up somehow.

Instead, though, he decides to shove his thoughts out of the way, bringing his free hand to cup your chin as he closes the gap and presses his lips against yours. The anticipation of this moment crashes down between the two of you, causing your hand to pull him closer. He nearly falls on you as you strive to deepen the kiss, only separating when your lungs start burning for air.

He pulls away, breaths heavy as a lovesick smile crosses his face, watching as you giggle again.

“You still have to teach me that takedown when we get home,” you say, smile also wide.

“I will,” he replies, heart racing even faster as you settle your head against his shoulder.

“Good. Wanna watch a movie in the meantime?”

mqthefandomfreak asked

Hey can I request Lloyd who has a crush on his f!bestfriend but his bestie is stoopid and is oblivous to his advances?

“I don’t know if the green’s going to go well with our house’s theme,” you note, frowning as you study your screen. Lloyd chuckles, not caring so much about the color dilemma you’d been debating on for the past ten or so minutes.

Lloyd moves his Minecraft avatar so that he’s standing next to yours. “I have an idea. Can I have the beds for a second?”

He sees you nodding from his peripheral vision, and soon enough, Lloyd’s character holds two lime beds. A smirk lines his lips as he places them side-by-side in the middle of the room.

“There,” Lloyd says. “We can add a little bit of a nature theme, don’t you think? That would probably look better.”

He watches as you stare at your screen, his eyes widening in disbelief as you fail to react to his little hint, instead nodding. “That’s better. I’m going to go grab some vines so I can decorate.”

Lloyd refrains from laughing as he nods, simultaneously feeling amused and frustrated. He picks his phone up, sending a quick text to Kai:

DUDE I PUT OUR MINECRAFT BEDS TOGETHER AND SHE DIDNT EVEN REACT

“By the way, we should probably plan on visiting the Nether soon,” you note as he watches your avatar dart towards the exit.

“Sounds good.”

The screen of his phone lights up with a response:

Kai: WTF HOWWWWW

Kai: this is bad

Kai: maybe she just didn’t understand?? Try flirting outside of the game too, lmk how she reacts

Lloyd: sure

Well, that’s easier said than done, but Lloyd knows he can make it work. Hopefully.

Decision made, he returns his focus to the game, promptly exiting the house. “Where’d you go?”

“Not far, just to the birch forest nearby,” you answer, tone soft. Lloyd wonders what you have to constantly be thinking about to miss all of the blatant flirting he’d done. Even so, it only makes him smile. It’s cute, in your own way.

Lloyd suddenly gets an idea as you’re attacked by a skeleton that had been lurking underneath the shade of the trees. Once you fend it off, he says:

“Hey, we should change your respawn location to my place.”

“Oh, you’re right,” you note, turning back in the direction of the house. “I almost forgot to set my spawn.”

He can’t help but snort, taking a moment to rub his forehead. Oh boy.

A pop of red catches his attention, and he finds that there’s a red tulip nearby. He makes his character break it, placing it in his avatar’s hand before following you inside.

“We should put our tulips together.”

“Oh my gosh, yes! A flower garden would be so cute!” you chirp excitedly, spamming the sneak key a few times before dashing out of the house. “Put all of the flowers you find in our chest!”

Lloyd obeys, but sighs as he places his tulip in the chest. I’m going to have to up my game…

“Are you serious?” Kai questions as Lloyd deflects an attack.

“Dead! She just takes it the complete opposite of how I intended it to be!” Lloyd says, shaking his head. Kai laughs, swinging another attack in Lloyd’s direction.

“Well, if pick-up lines aren’t working, maybe you could try being a little more affectionate?” Cole suggests, cursing underneath his breath when Zane evades the swing of his weapon. “She may be more receptive to stuff like hugging, light hand-holding, that kind of thing.”

“And you know, if all else fails…you can just, you know. Tell her how you feel,” Nya adds as she knocks Jay over.

“I agree,” Zane chimes in. “Judging by how she’s been reacting, it seems like a direct confession would be wisest.”

“I know, but I just…” Lloyd groans, shaking his head. “I’ve known her for years and I’ve accepted that I love her, but she’s…a little dense with this stuff. Not that that’s a bad thing, necessarily. It’s more cute than anything.”

“I get it,” Kai replies. “Don’t worry too much, though. Worst case scenario, you just bite the bullet and tell her.”

The green ninja nods, sighing. “Yeah. I guess we’ll see how today goes.”

You arrive shortly after their training session. Lloyd grins as he sees you entering the room, as beautiful as ever.

His heart skips a beat as you return his smile, causing butterflies to well in his tummy. He watches as you come to sit next to him on the couch, both facing the television.

“Hey,” you greet, leaning back. “How are you?”

“I’m doing alright. How about yourself?”

“I’m well enough,” you reply. “Are we going to work on our world today?”

“We can later, but today is movie day,” Lloyd notes as the others come in to settle into their respective spots one-by-one. Kai shoots Lloyd a thumbs-up while you aren’t looking before sitting down.

Once everyone is ready, the lights are turned off, snacks are distributed, and the movie begins. Partway through, Lloyd casually slips his arm around your shoulders. He notices that you snuggle into him a little bit, but you don’t appear to be flustered or anything.

The two of you stay like that throughout the rest of the movie. At some point, Kai shoots Lloyd a disbelieving expression, to which Lloyd responds with a mere shrug.

Soon enough, the movie ends, and it seems as if you’ve fallen asleep. Everyone else stands, stretching and cleaning their trash up.

“Seriously? Nothing?” Kai asks, tone quiet.

Lloyd shakes his head. “Nope.”

“Lloyd, just tell her!” Nya urges as she follows Jay to the kitchen.

“Tell me what?” you ask, stirring. Lloyd glances down at you, nervousness suddenly coursing through him as he sees you rubbing your sleepy eyes.

“Uh…come with me,” Lloyd instructs, taking your hand. You stand, and with that, the green ninja pulls you outside to the deck of the Bounty.

“What’s wrong?” you ask he drags you to the railing.

“I, um…” Lloyd swallows nervously, and suddenly, he’s hyperaware of how fast his heart is racing. “I have a confession to make.”

“Okay, I’m listening.”

Lloyd sighs, spying your hands resting on the railing. He scoops them into his own, noting how cold your skin is.

“I…I like you,” Lloyd starts, averting his gaze and wishing he felt as confident as he did before.

“I like you too, Lloyd,” you respond, smiling softly.

“Yeah, but I, um…I like you like you,” he admits. Wow. Mature way to phrase it.

His cheeks warm as he hears you giggle, watching with wide eyes as you stand on your tiptoes, pressing a small kiss against his cheek. “Well, Lloyd, I like you like you too.”

Lloyd is about to respond when he hears cheering emanating from nearby. He jumps in shock, looking over to see the ninja rejoicing.

“About damned time!” Kai yells.

“See, what did I tell you?” Nya adds.

“Huh?” you question. “They know?”

“I kinda…had to get some advice from them.”

“Wait,” you say, as if you’d just realized something. “Is that why you put our Minecraft beds together?!”

“Maybe?”

You roll your eyes, chuckling. “You’re a dork.”

“Says the one who didn’t respond to any of my flirting!”

“You were flirting?”

Lloyd can’t help but laugh, going to hug you. “I was. Don’t worry about it.”

Chapter 11: nap buddies (jay x reader)

Chapter Text

Anonymous asked:

Hi, I love your writing and I was wondering if you could write a Jay x reader where they're nap buddies.

Like when one can't sleep they look for the other or one comes in and is like "Nap time?" And they just nap together.

“Last one to the Bounty is a rotten ninja!”

Normally, this all-too-familiar sentence would ignite your competitive nature in a heartbeat. Today, however, is a completely different story.

This wind snaps against your skin as you cling to your dragon’s saddle, attempting to keep yourself awake. Thankfully, the Bounty comes into view soon enough.

Once you’re hovering over the deck, you dissipate the dragon and drop to the wood, albeit sloppily. With wobbly knees, you stand up straight as a familiar hand rests on your shoulder in an attempt to steady you.

“Thank you,” you mumble to Jay. The redhead nods in response, seemingly in a similar state.

The two of you had stayed up late again. You’d both needed time to work on your separate hobbies considering you didn’t have much time to do it during the daytime. Now, the question is: had it been worth the consequence of battling the Serpentine on one hour of sleep?

Absolutely.

As the rest of the team debriefs Sensei Wu on the mission, you elect to hover next to Jay towards the back. The both of you partially tune in in silence – something that’s quite rare for the two of you.

Finally, your mentor dismisses everyone. With a relieved sigh, you pull your mind from thoughts of your bed as you turn to Jay.

“Nap time?” you ask simply, doing your best and failing to stifle a yawn.

He nods, also yawning. “Yeah, that sounds great right about now.”

“Let’s shower first.”

After the two of you have cleaned up and changed into comfy clothes, you meet Jay in his room, eagerly shutting the door.

“Finally,” you mumble as the two of you waste no further time crawling into bed.

“I know, right?” he responds. You two shift around until you’re comfy.

You find yourself gazing at Jay, both with lidded eyes. He flashes you a small smile that you return.

“We need to fix our sleep schedule,” you mutter.

“But then we can’t take naps together…”

“We could just sleep together?”

“Huh. You’re right.”

You giggle quietly, lifting your head up so you can plant a soft, chaste kiss to his cheek. He smiles again, this time with a little blush.

“I hope you sleep well,” you say.

“You too.”
