Chapter 1: Before the Masquerade

Chapter Text

the day started like any other. Bakugo and his "Friends" were bullying Midorya, but that day everything changed. the bully"s had chased Midorya up to the roof. Bakugo had only meant to scare him but the other two seemed to have other ideas.
"P-Please l-leave m-me a-alone." Midoriya stuttered out. Bakugo just laughed before spitting out "Pathetic." as Bakugo was about to turn and leave his lakes walked forward to Midoriya. as Bakugo turned to tell them to come on he saw them push Midorya off the roof.
something clicked in Bakugo at that moment as he ran to the ledge and jumped off after Midoriya. as he grabbed Midoriya mid-fall and pulled the Qurkless boy to his chest. Bakugo put a handout and used his explosions to slow their descent.
as they reached the ground Midorya looked at his childhood Friend turned to bully but before he could speak they heard a voice walking up to the boys "god kids these days are so reckless." both boys look up to see the Pro Hero Rock Lock walking up to them. "what you did there was reckless but brave you would make a good hero kid." the pro said as he looked at Bakugo but as he turned to Midorya he said "as for you dum kids like you should stay out of the way. and stop being so reckless."
having had enough Bakugo stood up and grabbed Midoriya's arm before he ran. by the time the boys stopped they were in an ally far away from the school and the pro. "HOW DARE HE SAY THAT LIKE IT WAS YOUR FAULT YOU WERE PUSHED HONESTLY AND HE HAS THE Audacity TO CALL HIMSELF A HERO!" Bakugo was pissed but he could tell who he was pissed at, was he pissed at the hero for accusing Deku, was he mad at the extras that had pushed Midoriya off the roof, or was he mad at himself for letting it get this bad, for hurting the one person who was always there for him? he couldn't tell but what he could tell was he wasn't mad at Deku.
"Kacchan? A-Are you ok?" Came the shy but worried voice of the young green-haired boy. What? is he ok? was Deku serious? "WHAT DO YOU MEAN AM I OK I'M NOT THE ONE WHO ALMOST DIED!..... Oh God D-Deku no Izuku y-you almost died... I-i almost lost you... I can't l-lose you." from anger and fear Bakugo started to cry. and in an instant, both boys were on their knees crying in each other's arms.
everything changed after that the boys became almost inseparable. they would walk to and from school together. Bakugo became fiercely protective of Midoriya; he would train Midoriya in self-defense and Midoriya would teach Bakugo about analysis. something else changed too. the boy's no longer idealized heroes.
the boys did their research and found more and more problems with the hero's society. so many heroes got away with breaking the law just because they are heroes. one of the biggest culprits was the number two hero Endeavor who seemed to hurt more civilians than he saved and was known to yous excessive force, and always used his quirk even when it did more harm than good.
even with all the evidence, they found everyone even their parents would excuse his actions as "for the greater good" or "being a hero isn't easy and he is only human after all". so the boys decided to do something drastic. they were going to break into Endever's home and set up cameras to get some evidence and take him down.
"This is by far the dumbest thang we have ever done." said the blond as the boys stood outside of the Todoroki estate in the dead of night. Bakugo was in a black hoodie with the hud up and a black face mask and black skinny jeans and combat boots. Midoriya wore a similar outfit except for some red and black combats.
"come on we have stalked his movements and timed his coming and goings. plus his kids should be asleep by now so let's go." said the green-haired boy said with a smile as he started to climb the gate. "dam it izu." Bakugo muttered before climbing the gate as well.
wants the boys were in the yard they walked in silence to the back of the house where they had learned there was always an unlocked door. the door leads to the only daughter's room. the hard part was getting past the sleeping girl without awaking her, but once that was done they headed to the hero's room and office to place the cameras.
as they left the office they heard someone down the hall. Midoriya started sneaking down to see what was going on mutch to his friend's dismay. "izu stop you'll get us cot!" he whispered but his words fell on deaf ears. looking in the room down the hall Izuku saw a boy with dual split hair. the boy was sitting in front of an altar speaking to a long-dead loved one.
"....Touya what do I do I hate it here but I can't put Natsu and Fuyumi throw the same grief they felt when you.... died.... when HE killed you." the boys were stunned. from the sounds of it, Endeavor had killed his eldest son and got away with it. both boys had known about the eldest Todoroki child's passing but never thought that he was killed by his father. it made both boy's blood boil in rage.
while distracted neither boy heard the duel-haired boy get up. as he turned around to go back to his room Todoroki was surprised to see two strange boys around his age looking beyond pissed. "who are you? and how did you get in here?" he asked the two strange boys. little did any of the boys now but this was the start of something big. a masquerade of evil and truth.
