Summary
Reki puffed out a frustrated breath, his long wavy red bangs lifting with the huff of air. He was so tired of turning the possibilities over in his head. As Reki ate, his thoughts turned to other matters. Like stopping by the video rental store to see if the latest Tony Hawk compilation tape was out yet. And skating with his friend Hiromi later, at the open park where- well, they weren't technically, legally supposed to skate. And not think about how expensive his tiny studio was, compared to the "haunted" house… the house with the empty in-ground pool in the yard, and the perfectly situated rails from missing mesh fencing...
Pursing his lips, Reki scribbled numbers in the margin suddenly. His mind raced ahead to find an excuse that this wouldn’t work. That buying the Hivernal place outright for himself just couldn’t happen.
But it could, because the house was so cheap. And he hadn’t ever felt afraid there, even though Reki was a complete and utter scaredy cat.
Or: It's 1987, Montreal, and Realtor Star Reki is tasked with selling a haunted house that clearly doesn't want to be sold.
