Chapter Text
It was a peaceful day like no other if it weren't for the constant screams with loud booming explosions following behind. The bright green grass of the land was now scorned with fire and destruction. The clear sky was filled with dark clouds, big metal weapons of mayhem that floated in the air right above the city. You watched as people scattered looking for a means of safety but met with pain.
The loud ringing in your ears made it hard for you to hear your screams as you searched for your parents. You ran around fighting through anyone that tried to stop you or pull you to safety, but you did not care. You were just a child, scared for her parents rather than for her own life. You ran past dead bodies, craters in the ground searching for anyone that might have looked like your parents but you found no one.
'Mother! Father! Where are you!" You called out amid the smoke, seeing the invading army rounding up what was left of your people. Without thinking, you ran into the maw of the beast. In the rows of the people together, you called out again and again until one of the soldiers dawned in gold and black armor harshly grabbed your arm. The soldier cursed at you to keep quiet and threw you to the ground making you cry out in pain.
He sneered with pleasure at your pain, lifting his spear ready to plunge into your body, that is until he saw your eyes change color from Y/c's to lavender color with cat-like slits. You bellowed out a high pitch scream at the soldier knocking him far back, not wasting another moment. You got up and began to run until a giant man with light purple skin stared down at you. His golden armor told you he had to be the leader of the army.
"Oh little one, what's the matter?" He asks, looking down at your small frame. You were covered in dirt, bruises, and blood that wasn't yours.
"my...parents...I need to find them.." You spoke with heavy breaths preparing yourself to fight once more.
The man chuckled softly but amused.
"Such determination...come with me little one." With those words, he held out his huge hand waiting for your little one in his.
You stared at him hearing the screams of your people suddenly stop.
"We'll use that potential of yours for a great purpose" He spoke proudly as if he had a grand plan already in the works.
With no parents, no home, and no planet, you did the only thing you could do and that accepted the deal with the devil himself.
That was nearly 18 years ago when your home Aciilnt was invaded by the mad titan, Thanos. He wiped out nearly the whole population and took you as his adopted daughter. Your home planet was like any other planet in the galaxy, beautiful, full of life and culture with a dark history. Two main people lived on Aciilnt, the Sirens and the Aciilntians.
The Sirens proudly lived in the lakes and oceans nearby where they learned water magic, shapeshifting abilities, and their trance-like singing. On the other hand, Aciinltians was the complete opposite. Proud and honorable people, who trained their young to either be great warriors or hard-working farmers.
The war between the Siren people and the Aciilntians was the most common knowledge on your planet. The two species used to live in peace until the Siren people were deemed dangerous by the Aciint's government after an unstable Siren attacked local people during a celebration. They feared the mind-controlling power of the siren's singing The Siren people were given two options, have their vocal cords removed leaving them mute, or be banished from the planet.
Many chose to have their vocal cords removed to try and have a normal life while the rest of the Sirens chose to be banished rather than give up their dignity. Soon enough, the government began to purge for sirens who still had their powers, fresh born were killed and those who were caught were sentenced to life as a slave for the wealthy.
Your mother happened to be one of the Sirens that chose to stay on Aciinlt and fell in love with your father, a simple but honest man. Together they had you, the perfect siren and Aciintian hybrid. Your parents were terrified because they knew if the government found out, then you would be killed. So your mother birthed you in secret and once you were old enough to learn how to do simple things at a young age. She taught you to change your eyes so you would blend in with everyone. You almost got away with it until that soldier had forced you to expose yourself and now here you were on Thanos's ship as one of his many adopted children.
Since you were brought upon the ship, you were taught to fight and learn how to use your powers to serve your stepfather along with your adopted siblings. You had mastered your singing to put foes in a trance then make them do your bidding, You were now able to change your small appearance to help blend in for a certain mission, and your water magic was terrifying yet powerful.
Out of all the siblings, Gamora and Nebula were the two that you got along with. Gamora had already been on the ship for a few years when you first met her, she was cold and distant with you at first. She wasn't used to having someone near her age, and to top it off someone with powers like yours. She didn't want to be near you. The only time she would be near you was in the room that you shared, when you ate together, and when you fought with her when your father wanted to test your skills.
You both were equally skilled so it was mostly a tie between you two. After a year of being together on the ship, Gamora had gotten into a fight with Thanos and came to the room in a fit breaking things, ranting about how much she hated her life and she hated Thanos. Instead of turning her away as she had done to you, you had decided to show her some sympathy. You told her about your hatred, you told her about the day you lost your life to the mad- titan and you also told her that she made you feel like you weren't alone even if she didn't like you. You were happy to have someone to suffer with. Gamora soon after that warmed up to you, then Nebula came along.
Nebula was a different story, she hated all of her siblings and wasn't trying to make bonds with anyone. She was devoted to her father so much and was willing to do anything to make him proud. So when it came to you and Gamora, she despited you both and wanted to prove she was the superior daughter. Her hatred grew deeper when she would be challenged against the two of you and always lose, resulting in Thanos adding upgrades to help her improve. By the time the three of you were in your teen years, Nebula had almost lost most of her right side becoming a half cyborg.
You honestly hated hearing her screams of torture when Thanos worked on her so you would ask your father for permission if you could be with her to try and give her comfort and support. He denied it every time saying that it was Nebula's punishment for being weak so she needed to accept her pain. So one day Nebula finally won a battle against you because you had let her win and you took your punishment instead which was a scolding from your father.
It took a lot more time for Nebula to warm up to you and when she did, you were happy to have two sisters. One you could talk to and one you could spar with. The three of you were unstoppable, the assassin daughters of the mad titan warlord Thanos.
Now here you were standing in your room, staring out into the void of space relieving your memories of your old life. You hated Thanos, you hated your life, you hated what you had become and you wanted to run but that would take time to plan and units. So you decided to wait for the perfect moment to betray your father and escape away.
You glanced at your reflection, your lavender eyes piercing back at you, your hair was neatly in a crown braid, the black strapless corset with black tight pants and a purple jacket that fitted around your body felt weird. Your father told you that today was a special day for you to wear something nice. He was supposed to have a meeting with someone to help him find something he called The Infinity Stones. You wondered about this stranger and couldn't help but scoff to yourself, the poor guy didn't know what mess he or she would be getting into.
"Sister, are you ready?" Gamora asks, standing in the doorway with her long ombre hair done up neatly like yours. Her outfit is similar to yours but with a red corset and a black jacket instead.
You sigh, turning yourself away from the window to stare back at Gamora.
"Of course sister, come we mustn't keep father waiting" You responded with ice in your tone as you said the word father. Gamora knew and shared your hatred as well so she just nodded and began to walk down the hallway to the meeting room. You followed her out watching her walk in front of you. As you passed by several training rooms and torture rooms, you knew that you would not miss this place. Your sisters, you would dearly miss but then again they were not your real siblings. Putting your thoughts away, you caught up to Gamora walking by her side.
"Nebula is there with father?" You ask first, keeping your eyes ahead.
"Ready and waiting, you know she's gonna scold us later for not being good daughters" Gamora responded, stopping in front of a large door with alien language encrypted onto it. You nodded to your sister that you were ready and the door opened letting a bright blue light emerge. Inside the room was a large grey chair in the center of the floor that was twice the size of you and your siblings. Your father proudly sat upon it dressed in his infamous golden amour with your sister, Nebula by his left side waiting. A golden specter in his hand with a bright blue stone in between the two pongs. She sneered at the two of you for making your father wait but before making sure to keep herself in check.
"Ah..my daughters, finally you grace us with your presence" Thanos began as he held out his hands for you and your sister. Gamora stepped first, letting Thanos lead her to his right side then you stepped up letting your father lead you next to Nebula. Facing the direction that your father was, you now took full notice of the man in front of you.
The man was tall, he had to be about 6 ft and over, his black, green, and gold leather clothing told you that he was royalty. He was a handsome man with sharp cheekbones, ebony shoulder-length hair that was slicked back. His eyes were a deep emerald green that seemed to pierce through your soul.
His demeanor was something you've never seen or felt before. Did it felt terrifying but sad? It confused you to your core as to why this man was intriguing you so. You felt his eyes on you as well, taking in your form. He studied you as you did him since you knew this would not be the last time you saw him.
"Now. Speak of your ambition." Thanos began making the man's eyes switch to him.
"I am Loki of Asgard, or better known as the God of Mischief. I am burdened with a glorious purpose to achieve my rightful place as king! I have come in need of an army" His voice..was alluring and confident. The accent in his voice was deep and a bit husky. The way he spoke, told you that he was determined to get what he desired.
Thanos smiled and began to hum as he straightened himself in his chair.
"Glorious purpose? We all have a purpose...a destiny to fulfill. It all arrives the same, the question is what will you do for me? You offer me nothing for my services."
"I offer you Earth and all of its worms that they call their people. I offer you their blood, their screams." The man called Loki responded with a slight tone of desperation.
Your father stayed silent for a moment. "Perhaps we can come to an alliance. On Earth, there is this powerful object called the Tesseract. Inside of it is one of the essentials of my great plan. I will give you an army, Earth will be yours to rule. I only ask for the Tesseract in return, understand?"
Loki stood up straight, eyes still fixed on your father. " I will not disappoint you"
Once you heard Loki say that, you felt your heart drop since you knew what your father did with his alliances. Thanos smirked with malicious intent.
"We'll see"
You could do nothing but watch as your father took the specter and plunged it into Loki's chest. You bite the inside of your cheek as you hear his screams ring out, your father wanted to show Loki that he was not one to be disappointed or betrayed. You couldn't bear to think of what he was making Loki see or feel but you swore that you saw his eyes water. What made it worse was that his eyes were no longer on your father but you. They held such pain and terror that you almost thought he was begging for help. You gave him a sympathetic look before looking away. You couldn't have your father seeing you be weak, Loki's screams continued until your father had enough and made him pass out from the mental torture.
"Y/n, take our guest to his room. I want to make sure he's fully prepared for his mission." Your father stood handing you the tall scepter.
" Give him this for his mission. Don't be afraid to make him grovel to our will."
Gripping the specter tightly in your hand. You stared up at your father with a harsh glare.
"Of course Father." With your words, Loki was picked up by Gamora and carried him to his chamber for now. You followed her admiring his features.
His face was bruised and scraped, his eyes were puffy with some red around them.
'He's been in more pain than today.." You thought to yourself as the door opened welcoming you.
Gamora flops him on the bed and proceeds to give you a look beginning to walk out but then she stops.
"Y/n you can't save everyone from father," She says, turning her head to look at you slightly.
"I'm not trying to save anyone, I just can't stand the pain " You stated factly as you watched Loki fidget and turn in his sleep. Gamora nodded once before leaving you alone with the god of mischief. Deciding to give the poor man some relief, you crouched beside him and began to softly sing a lullaby to help ease his pain.
You lightly grasped his arm to sing soft melodies in his ear. All you had to do was sing a few notes and anyone would be under your spell. Once you saw his face soften up and relax slightly, you pulled away to stand back up.
"Sleep...and may you never have another bad dream.." A soft smile rose to your face seeing Loki relax completely and just look peaceful before he would endure your father's wraith. Leaving the scepter by his side, you exited the room and proceeded to the next mission.
Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Chapter Text
It had been a week since Loki had made his presence on your father’s ship. Every day was the same, Thanos would take Loki for long periods of the day in one of his torture rooms until his screams would echo around the ship. Then after the long hours of pain, you would bring Loki back to his room where you already had food and drinks waiting for him. The first day, you talked with Loki when you came to collect him from his chambers. It wasn’t a happy one. The cold glare on his face told you all.
“You! Do you know how I am? I am god you pathetic incel!” Loki’s green eyes pierced at you as he walked up to you. His face was slim, and there were heavy bags under his eyes. His voice was loud and harsh but you just stared up at him. You were used to anger and used to be insulted so you thought his insult wouldn’t hurt but it did a bit. You did nothing to him but help him sleep and he blamed you for his pain.
“Are you done?” You simply asked, crossing your arms with a disdainful look. Loki stood silent for a moment, his eyes looking you over once again. He studied you and you let him until he finally said.
“Who are you? You’re bold one”
You sighed softly beginning to go to the door.
“Y/n, daughter of Thanos. Look if you want that army of yours, you better be corporate. My..father is not accustomed to kindness. Yesterday was only a taste of what he has plans..” The warning tone in your voice made you see a fear in Loki’s eyes that was gone as soon as it came.
“Kindness? Oh yes, I can see that you are just like your father. You love feeding off other people’s pain and misery.” Loki snarled, refusing to follow you out.
“Watch your tongue son of Odin, you are in my territory and I don't take kindly to lies. I'm not scared to handle you if need be” You warn looking back at him with a serious face.
“Handle me? Well, tell me then Y/n daughter of Thanos. What will you do when I make you and your father kneel to me? ” With that Loki threw his hand behind his back, summoning two daggers out ready to fight until you broke a nearby water pipe to use the water inside to splash Loki in the face, knocking him back into the wall. Loki sneered at you, now his hair and outfit full drenched. Standing up, he shook his body for a second. A wave of a green mist scanned completely over him making him now fully dry.
You couldn’t help but smile and let out a soft laugh. It’s been so long since you’ve had an interesting person around. Loki growls slightly annoyed with your actions, thinking you were laughing at him.
“You’re cute when you’re angry. My father waits for us” With a turn on your heel, you walked out reaching halfway down the hallway before hearing Loki’s steps following.
“For the record, I'm not cute” He spoke less angry and more just awkward. You must have caught him off guard with the cute statement because he was silent for the rest of the day.
You honestly felt bad for Loki, he was here trying to his own goal, and yet your father wanted to cause pain wherever he went. After the long periods of suffering, you would be the first to see Loki, much to his dismay. The way he would look after dealing with Thanos, made you hate your father even more. You would apologize to him quietly when you would escort him back to his room. Loki would do nothing and just scoff at first then when you turned to leave you would hear a small ‘thank you ' before retreating for the day.
At first, you didn’t notice a change in him. He was still cheeky, snarky, and held his pride up high. He would ask you questions and you would answer them honestly when you would escort him back and forth and one day you even gave him some books to help keep him occupied until nearly halfway into the week when he had a mental breakdown.
It was once again time for you to go collect him again but when you opened the door. Loki got on his knees and begged you with tears in his eyes. He looked so much like a lost child that wanted comfort and a safe place. You felt you were being punished when he kept begging you.
“Please... Please Y/n i...don’t wanna go... I won't disappoint your father please!” The urgency in his voice as he just wanted to do the mission. No more pain.
“Loki...” Standing there, you were at a stalemate. This Loki was technically your prisoner and you were supposed to make him do your bidding but something told you that you couldn’t. You were a big risk, don’t bring him to Thanos and you suffer punishment instead or let Loki suffer more. It reminded you of Nebula all over again and how she would scream and beg with no mercy given.
Loki closes his eyes, grabbing your hands gently and pleading with you. A few of his tears fell on the ground. A part of you wondered why he was letting himself grovel to you. When only a few days ago, he threatened it would be you in his place. Then something made you realize that this man had no one in a sense. You were the only one who tested him and somewhat treated him nicely.
“Please..he invades my head...it hurts so much.”
Biting the inside of your cheek, you decided to take your fate. Instead of taking him for his suffering, you would take him for some relaxation.
“Alright alright..come with me. I’ll take you somewhere else” Loki’s head perked up so fast and the pure smile of happiness he gave you melted something inside. He looked grateful, just happy that his mind won't be invaded.
He stood up with your hands still on his own and he gently kissed your knuckles. Mumbling praises and thanks to you before clearing his throat then regaining his composure. You took your hand and brought it to his face to wipe his tears off of his sharp cheekbones. You tried to be as gentle as you could because once your hand got close, he flinched but slowly relaxed when he realized you weren’t going to hurt him. Taking a sharp breath of your own, you tug on his hand and lead him to one of your more private areas of the ship.
Loki squeezed your hand in comfort, you could hear his small sniffles as the two of you walked. You took him to your favorite training room, it was simple but it was enough to get Loki somewhere else that didn’t remind him of his pain. Once inside the room, Loki let go of your hand and inspected the spears and bars that you and your siblings would use to train. There were also plenty of water buckets and a mirror for you to work on your appearances and water magic. You frowned at yourself knowing you were doomed to harsh punishment. It made your stomach drop imagining what he would do to you.
“You’re...a siren aren’t you?” He finally spoke, his normal tone finally coming back.
You looked at him surprised and smiled a bit to which he gave a small one back.
“Mm, is it the eyes?” Loki chuckled to himself but nodded to her answer.
“Partly that... I heard you sing and that night it was the first time in years that I didn’t have a nightmare” He admits taking his place on a nearby bench, looking up at you. “You have a lovely voice”
You stood there a little stunned not expecting such an answer, she couldn’t help the bit of blush rise to her cheeks.
“Ah..uh..thank you.” Was your only response to him before you took a seat next to him. Loki didn’t look at you, his gaze fixed forward. He seemed to be in deep thought then he turned towards you.
“You wanna see something?”
You nodded, waiting for him to continue but staying on your guard in case he was to try anything. Loki held up his hand and closed his fingers before opening them. Once he did, small streams of colorful fireworks filled the space between you two. You tried not to smile but the corner of your lip betrayed you.
“My mother would do that for me when I was younger. At that time, she made it look impossible but she told me that it never was because she knew I could do it too.” He hummed softly.
“She sounds amazing”
“Yes..she is” For the first time since you had met him. You saw genuine sadness in his eyes which reminded you of yourself and your parents.
“My mother was the same, she could do all of this beautiful and powerful water magic. It looked so hard, and at the time. I could only do small things like raise the water in a glass but now..” You trailed off getting up to go grab the nearest bucket of water. Placing it in the middle of the floor, you hold out your hands making the water lift and form into a huge ball of water.
It was contained in its own space not letting itself drip anything. You focused your energy moving your fingers up to make the ball rise high up. Keeping it at your eye level, you begin to flick away a small amount of water that turns into balls then shapes into butterflies. The water flies would fly around you then Loki who was sitting in slight awe.
You kept doing that until the room filled with nothing but butterflies made out the bucket of water. With two of your fingers, you guided them around Loki giving him a chance to poke one which proceeded to pop and get water on his leg. He didn’t seem to mind though, his now bright orbs following the creations. Then with a flick of your hand, the butterflies all flew into the bucket popping themselves and filling it up to the amount she first started with.
“Amazing..” Loki spoke standing up to walk towards you but stopped dead in his tracks. The look of fear stuck back in his eyes but his face remained stoic. You didn’t have to know what he was looking at to know that you were gonna be hurting the next few days.
“Daughter, it seems you got lost bringing our guest to me for his ‘lessons’ “ Thanos spoke standing in the doorway, in his hand Loki’s scepter with his face emotionless. You walked towards your father feeling your heart pound against your chest.
“I apologize father...I was-”
“I know what you were doing daughter, you disappoint me. I thought I broke that kind nature of yours but it seems you need a lesson as well. ” He scolds, his face twisted in anger. Thanos approached you and stared down at you, with your two sisters behind him.
You didn’t dare look at your sisters, you knew how they felt about you. Nebula was just as disappointed as your father was but she still felt the smallest pity for you. Gamora knew that your nature would get you in trouble but that you didn't deserve it.
“Thanos, it wasn’t her fault. I asked her to bring-” Loki began before Thanos plunged the specter on his chest again sending Loki into fits of screaming and pain, he fell on his knees ending the suffering.
“Gamora, take your sister to my lab. She needs to take time out for a while. Nebula, take our guest for his lessons.”
“Yes Father” Gamora softly said, grabbing your arms. “With pleasure father” Nebula spoke as she slammed Loki on his stomach on the ground and placed her foot on his back. She grunted a bit making sure to keep him down.
“Father please stop!” You cried out as you watched Loki suffer in his place struggling against your sister’s grip as she pulled you out of the training room. You wanted to stop it but you were already in enough trouble. The way Loki looked at you as he watched you hurt you more. The sadness in his eyes mixed with slight concern. You gave him a sorrowful look back as Gamora dragged you out and led you to Thanos’s lab.
Once the two of you were inside, Gamora threw you out of her grip. She looked worried and angry at the same time. You straightened your stance and huffed softly. You knew where this was going, and to be honest even you didn't know 100% why you did what you did.
“Y/n what in the hell were you thinking?! You’re lucky that Father doesn’t mark you as a traitor and kill you! I told you you can’t save everyone! Father needs him for the mission!”
“Gamora, he came to me begging to not let father hurt him. I..just wanted to comfort someone...Father does nothing but brings pain and suffering to any he crosses. I hate it here! I hate him! I hate who he has made me into!” You began to go on a rant of your own. You were sick of this life that Thanos had made for you, and you were sick of the pain that you and your adopted family had caused.
“You think I don’t feel the same as you? You don’t think I don’t spend my days wishing I could just kill him and leave? I can’t because we are in no position to even try to go against his rule right now.” She spoke stepping forward, the tone in her voice serious and unwavering.
“Then what do you ask of me sister? You stay in the shadows and watch him continue his slaughter. Gamora, he killed our families and forced us into assassins. Do you even remember your mother?” You asked as your lavender eyes watered slightly. It had been years since you had cried, what was this man doing to you?
Gamora’s expression softened slightly and she sighed stepping forward to gently hold your hand inside of hers.
“Barely Y/n I barely remember her...but you, Nebula are the best thing I can have for a family. I promise I swear in my heart that we will escape one day but not today. Not now. Please sister. I need you here.” She whispered to you, pleading for you to just hold on a bit longer and deal with your father. You took a deep breath shutting your eyes. Taking a moment to calm yourself down, you released the breath you were holding. You squeezed Gamora’s hand in comfort.
“ Okay, Gamora..” Placing her other hand on your shoulder she gave a heartbroken smile before taking her to leave out the door. Leaving you alone to wait for your punishment, but you didn't have to wait long. Only a few moments did your father come in stricken look.
“Daughter, let’s talk”
That was two days ago since your father had ‘talked’ with you, your punishment was losing one of your hands. Your father told you that this is what you deserve, this was the way to make you stronger. He might have replaced it with a robot one but it didn’t make you feel any less weak. After you were finally sent back to your room that night, you couldn’t help but cry your soul out. You were forced to now reteach yourself how to control water with your new hand, a constant reminder of your mistake. Another reminder to get yourself away from this mad man.
For the past two days, you hadn’t seen or heard from Loki at all, part of you feared that Thanos had tortured him to death just to teach you another lesson. The other part scolded you for worrying about a god you barely knew. Yet you had a small moment where you seemed to understand each other, it was different than you’ve had in years. You wondered how Loki was and what thoughts ran in his mind, but you didn’t dare to go try and find him. You didn’t want to lose your other hand and have to completely teach yourself water magic from the beginning again. Even though you couldn’t go to Loki, you knew your sisters had seen him so you went to Gamora to question her.
“He’s alive Y/n. That’s all you need to know. Father doesn’t trust you around him, you’ll see him when we send him to Earth for his mission. Besides, he's the reason you lost your hand.” You felt a part of you relax with relief that Loki was still alive but now you were just annoyed.
“ Gamora, that's bullshit and you know it. My actions were my own, Loki did nothing. Thanos has always been finding a reason to modify me and now he got his chance. And you know what? I don’t regret it at all.” You admitted seeing your sister’s expression stay the same.
“I know you don't, that's why you can’t see him” Gamora finally spoke, leaving you to let out a noise of frustration before you marched back to one of the training rooms to let some steam out.
The next day caught you by surprise when Nebula came to collect you from your room with the news that Loki’s departure was today. You felt your heart race upon hearing you would see him again even for a second.
“Father requests our presence?” You asked as you stood up from your bed.
“No. Just you, come Father doesn’t want to be kept waiting.” Nebula said in her irritated tone leading you to the same meeting room you had met Loki in over a week ago.
When the large doors opened, only you stepped inside hearing the doors shut behind you. Standing in front of you was your father sitting on his chair looking smugly at Loki who was on his knees groveling to your father. As you walked forward, your father smirked, holding out his hand for yours. You gave it to him with just a small nod as he made you stand on the right of his chair. Loki didn’t dare move from his spot or even look at you.
“Ah daughter, nice of you to join us. I was just about to send our guest on his way” Thanos began waving his hand towards Loki, who stood up proudly with the specter tightly in his grip. Staring straight at you.
You let out a soft sigh as you saw the damage done to the god. His bright green eyes were now dull and sunken into his face. His features were thinner like he lost some weight. His raven hair was greasy. The armor he now wore was different from the clothing he first wore. It was still the same colors as his first outfit but now with extra golden amour on the shoulders. The aura around him was no longer the cheeky proud man.
“Hello little fortryllerinne. Did you miss me?” He smirked looking at you like you were a small insect to him. The word he used was not familiar to you but it sounded like his language.
You didn’t answer, you could feel your father’s gaze on you. That bastard, he wanted to test you it would seem.
“Why would I? You are an asset to my father. Your life means nothing to me” You spoke partly the truth. You did care slightly for his life, but you couldn’t let your father know.
Loki began to laugh, his grin becoming wider.
“Yes, an asset that cost you your hand, tell me siren, did you think you could win me over with parlor tricks and kindness? Did you think I would forgive you for making me into a fool? Did you think I would become your friend? Your father is right. You’re weak and pathetic. A lousy attempt for a daughter of Thanos ” Loki spoke, his voice rising louder, his tone going from calm to anger. His words caused me to bite the inside of your cheek, you felt your heart squeeze in pain. Those sharp words cut right through you making you feel stupid. He had played you this whole time, and now he was rubbing it in your face.
Before you could speak, Thanos put his hand in front of your face as a sign to be quiet. You let out a breath of hurt and frustration. You had nothing but been the best daughter you could and here you were being mocked for it. You held your hands together behind your back, feeling the smooth metal of your hand. You tried to keep your emotions inside like you were taught but Loki must have seen through you because he smirked knowing he hit a nerve.
“Enough talk, it’s time for you to complete your mission. Are you ready, God of mischief?” Your father asked, to which Loki chuckled his eyes full of pleasure.
“I was born ready.”
Thanos presses a button on his chair, opening a portal behind Loki. You watched Loki turn around about to enter the portal to Earth until he moved towards your direction once more and grinned.
“See you soon siren” Those were the last words you heard from Loki of Asgard, the god of mischief before he disappeared into the portal. Little did you know that you would cross paths with him again in only a few years. Once Loki was gone, you let out a shaky breath trying to keep your emotions in.
“Father..can I be excused please?” You asked, your eyes on the floor not daring to look at him. You knew he had a smirk of smugness that you didn’t want to see, he wanted to teach you that this is what happens when you disobey.
“Yes daughter, please call in your sisters on the way out.” You barely hear the end of his sentence, as you walk to the door. Feeling hot tears prick the corners of your eyes, you told yourself not to let Thanos have the pleasure of your pain. Once you finally exited the room, Gamora and Nebula were already waiting outside. Making a motion with your hand, your sisters understood to go but didn’t right away.
Gamora frowned seeing you release tears before you marched way towards your room for the rest of the night. She was about to call out to you, it was years since she and Nebula had seen you cry. But Nebula put her hand on Gamora’s shoulder, shaking her head stopping her.
“Let her be, she needed this” Nebula spoke, letting go of her older sister as she entered the room.
Gamora looked back at the spot you were before the following Nebula inside the room, now more determined than ever to help herself and you to escape Thanos.

Chapter Text
“See you soon siren”
Those words taunted you for the past two years, just ringing in your mind over and over again. You thought you would see him and his snarky ass soon, a part of you had even hoped. But in reality, you hadn’t seen or heard from Loki since his departure to New York those two years ago. During that time, you had feared two of the worst options you could honestly think of, he either betrayed your father or he had failed his mission and was dead..but you wouldn’t dare believe that last option unless you saw his corpse with your own eyes. That’s why you had to make it your mission to reach Earth. You had only two goals in your head. Leave your father, and find Loki. You weren’t sure why you were so worried about him, you barely knew him but yet you wanted to know him. He honestly didn’t deserve to see you again after he had treated you, his hurtful words still rang sometimes in your thoughts. Yet in the back of your head, there was a small voice telling you that what happened that day was your father’s doing. Part of you wanted to kill him for how he humiliated you, and another part of you wanted to just talk with him as you did before.
So over the last two years, you pushed yourself to be better skilled with your powers. You went through hell and back to earn the trust that you had killed long ago with your father. The painful “lessons” Thanos would put you through, thankfully you hadn’t lost any more limbs but you were modified to be faster and stronger. You had grown up in the ranks and were known next to your older sister Gamora as one of the fiercest women in the galaxy. Taught to be fearless and to be feared, as well as hated. You needed to pretend that you were loyal to your father, so your and Gamora’s plan would go without a flaw.
Since your father deemed the mission with Loki a failure, he sought out more alliances to help him with his great plan. This current one happened with Ronan The Accuser, a Kree who wanted to exchange an item called the orb for the destruction of Xander, another alien planet in the galaxy. You heard the stories of the wars between the Kree people and Xander, but it didn’t matter to you. Under Thanos’ command, you and your sisters were sent to aid in Ronan's quest for the legendary orb that withheld an infinity stone inside.
You and your sisters knew that the three of you were there to keep Ronan in his place rather than aid him since your father was the true one benefiting from all this. The power stone as your father called it, was on a planet called Morag and that’s where you and your adopted family were now headed. Gamora had informed you that she planned to steal the orb and sell it to a buyer by the name of Taneleer Tivan. According to your last conversation with her, the final straw was after the attack on Korbin. After your family assisted in killing nearly two billion lives. The problem was that Gamora had no idea of your plan to travel to Earth, and if she found out, you knew she wouldn’t let you go so you kept it from her until the faithful day of escape would come. It’s been about 3 days ago since your sisters had been aboard the Dark Aster, and tensions were rising high.
Nebula was fighting with you and Gamora over the little things, and you knew that she felt like she was in the shadow of you and Gamora. The countless upgrades that covered her body were proof of it, she would constantly try to prove herself but Gamora and you knew that blind pride would do more harm than good. So you would try to take the hard and more dangerous missions with Gamora to protect your younger sister but Nebula didn’t see it like that. She saw it as a competition that she was determined to win, not caring if she lost her sisters on the way. Along with Nebula, you could feel the tension with Gamora as you could feel that the time for your plan was soon but she was waiting for the right time to execute it. She was more secretive given the consequences if anyone found out the plan but she would give you little gestures to reassure you that everything was fine and to be ready for anything. Little did you know that today would be that day.
You stood next to Gamora who stood on the right side of Ronan, with Nebula on his left side. Ronan in his battle armor sat in his throne-like chair in the main lobby of the ship. The air was tense yet collected as there were no chances of mistakes happening. You all were waiting patiently for Korath the Pursuer to return with the orb in hand, it had been a couple of hours since he was dispatched so you were bound to hear from him now. You stood with your hands behind your back as you eyed your two sisters, the feeling of the cool metal of your hand brought you back to Loki and your mission. You never cared about any of your father’s alliances so why was this one man different? That’s mostly what you wanted to find out, as a mixture of thoughts ran through your mind a distant beep sound brought you back into your twisted reality.
An image of Korath appeared in front of Ronan, you, and your sisters. The look on his face told you immediately that he failed at his mission. Pure anger and shame rested in his eyes as he talked about being ambushed by a space outlaw called Star-Prince. Something along those lines, who was now in possession of the orb. You could only watch as Ronan grew angry demanding to know where this Star-Prince was going with the said orb. The tensions around you rose as you knew this wasn’t part of the said plan. Now you and Gamora would need to improvise in your favor. Nebula was the first to step declaring she would be the one to retrieve the orb, but Gamora quickly jumped in dismissing her.
You only watched and listened as Gamora convinced Ronan for her to go and retrieve the Orb. Gamora gave you a look of reassurance and determination, your response was a simple nod back. Then she was gone from your sight and the ship without another goodbye. Phase one was finally in effect, all you had to do was now wait for her signal to meet her at Kowhere. You couldn’t help but feel an inkling that something terrible was going to happen.
‘Nothing bad is going to happen...Gamora will be fine. She hasn’t failed yet. Once we sell the orb, we can live happy lives finally, be free..’ You thought to yourself as you began to walk down to the map room.
Once inside, you walked towards the table which was the only thing really in the room. Placing your palm on the surface makes the room itself dim as the table illuminates a map of the galaxy. Stars, moons, and planets of all shapes, sizes, and colors burn into your brain as you place coordinates to see how far away from Kowhere you were. According to the cords, it was going to be half of a day’s trip. You couldn’t help but let a small chuckle escape your throat, the ship you owned was already in the hangar ready to go.
‘Just need Gamora’s signal and I’ll be out of here..’ That was all that was running through your mind. Then you drifted into thinking about Nebula, and how you and Gamora were essentially abandoning her. You both knew how much she truly hated your father even though she lived to please him.
Perhaps that’s why you never did tell Nebula and you still wouldn’t, deep down there was a fear that she would rat out you and Gamora. Shivers ran down your spine as you thought about what kinds of punishment or modifications he would do. You clenched your fists in anger and slight fear, all of the different scenarios running through your mind.
“No! I won’t let him have this power over me” You spoke to yourself in a low murmur. “Not after today, not anymore”
It was only two hours later when the news of Gamora being captured reached Ronan’s and your ears. You mentally cursed Gamora upon also hearing that Ronan knew of her plan to betray him. Now you had to walk on even more eggshells around Nebula and Ronan.
‘Shit now what am I supposed to do? I can’t just stay here and pretend I don't know anything. They’ll find out that I was in on it too eventually. Dammit Gamora, how did you get yourself caught?” Hundreds of thoughts ran rampant in your mind as you tried to now come up with a backup plan. There wasn’t much to do now that everything was falling apart by the second. You needed to act quickly and smoothly to not alert anyone. Nebula and Ronan hadn’t come to question you yet so it was best to leave before they even got a chance.
So now here you were grabbing your pre-packed bag and all of the money you had saved up from previous missions. You waved your hand creating a dense ball of water and throwing it over to smack open the airlock. As the big metal doors open wide revealing the eternal blanket of space you wasted no time rushing towards the ship docked in the hanger, the ramp already down and ready. The bag was tossed aside half haphazardly somewhere as you sat down in the driver’s seat. The ship’s engine roared to life with a few buttons pressed, and the alarm outside in the hangar was blaring loud no doubt giving your position away.
After closing off the ramp, you took off in the ship, adrenaline still pumping through your veins like a drug. There were no other thoughts in your mind besides escape, just escaping. It was only a matter of time before Ronan’s minions would be gunning after you. There was no turning back now, you stared off into the endless distance thinking about your sisters. Gamora could handle herself so you were not too concerned but Nebula was another story. She seemed hellbent on pleasing Thanos if the opportunity was available. Someday you would see them both again, you were sure of it.
Your metal fingers swiftly glided across the keypad inputting the proper calculations for your destination: Earth. Just as your hand reached the lever for the hyper-speed the whole ship shook harshly from behind, and the muffled sounds of the explosion reached your ears. Ronan’s followers had already been on your tail, deciding to shoot first and ask no questions. An alarm began to ring out along with red and white lights flashing. One of the ship’s engines had been blown off making the ship unstable to fly. That thought didn't matter though, you had already crossed the line and you were not going back. Hell even death would be a warming welcome than going back to face Thanos, so putting all other risks aside your hand grasped the lever pulling it down harshly.
Bright vibrant streams of colors filled your vision, your breath was hitched as the ship pulsed through miles and miles of space until the engines couldn't take it any longer. You only let out a small sigh of relief when the computer confirmed that you finally arrived on Earth. The moment didn't last though as Earth seemed to be approaching closer than expected. Suddenly before you could make a thought, the ship dipped into Earth’s atmosphere hard and fast. The outside layer of the ship caught fire as it fell down, the sound of sputtering and roaring engines was the last thing you heard before crashing into the ground and blacking out.
