Chapter 1: Prologue - The Inhumans

Chapter Text

ANTARTICA, HUNDREDS YEARS AGO

We open on a great domed city on the dark side of The Moon. This is Attilan, home of The Inhumans. Several spirals reach to the top of the dome, sprouting out from skyscraper like buildings. Cue laser fire streaming across the ground floor. Several blue skinned soldiers in bright white armour are shooting at an unseen enemy. These are Kree Soldiers of The Kree Empire. Their opponent, Gorgon, charges at them and kicks each one with his feet, which are similar to a goat's hooves.

Gorgon: Leave our city, Trespassers, or face my wrath!

He attacks several more Kree soldiers by luring them into a trap laid by the long haired Inhuman known as Medusa.

Medusa: If I were you, I would run while you still can. Gorgon never jokes when it comes to fighting.

The remaining soldiers take aim but Medusa flings them with her hair towards the edge of the city. Soon enough, the leader of the attacking force arrives. That leader is revealed to be Korath The Pursuer. He unsheathes the blades on his back and readies for a fight.

Korath: You will serve The Kree, primatives, even if I have to force you to do so!

Before anyone else moves, footsteps can be heard approaching the battlefield. The Inhumans look on in both relief and joy as the person approaching is the long exiled Blackagar Boltagon, heir to throne of The House Of Agon. The Kree take aim and...

Black Bolt: LEAVE!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!

The Kree strike force are sent flying back towards their spacecraft due to the tremendous power that came from each word Black Bolt just uttered in an audiable whisper. Korath, depsite getting knocked back slightly and recovers due to ramming his swords into the ground to stay in place, glares at Black Bolt. Instead of running, Korath aims a blade at Black Bolt.

Korath: Your people could have been useful to the empire, Human. Remember, you chose this. Minn-Erva, bombard the city!

On the cruiser, Minn-Erva (based on her MCU counterpart but with the same uniform colours of her 616 counterpart) activates the laser turrets on the ship and aims at the city.

Minn-Erva: About time.

Before she can do any damage, she hears a low growling behind her. She turns to see a huge dog growling and baring it's teeth at her. This is Lockjaw. She pulls out a blaster but Lockjaw teleports her into deep space just on the edge of the galaxy before returning to Black Bolt's side.Korath charges but gets knocked back by each punch thrown by Black Bolt until the king steals one of Korath's blades and rams it into the right hip.

Black Bolt: BEGONE!!!!!!

Korath is sent flying down the street and hits the ground. The Kree then gets back up. Korath, despite being wounded, refuses to back down. For in Kree Culture, a warrior keeps fighting until his dying breath for the empire no matter what mission is laid before them and Korath intends to see this mission through even if he dies failing to do so. This is when Black Bolt's brother, Maximus, walks over to the warrior.

Maximus: You have fought well and bravely, Kree. So much so that we are granting you mercy right now. If I were you, I'd leave while you still can. If you don't, well, you can put two and two together. Now, be a good boy and run back to the darkest depths of space, never return, and be sure to tell your children that you were no match for our combined strength. So says Blackagar Boltagon, our leader and our king.

Korath: I would rather die than return to my people in shame!

Medusa: We are not your people, Invader. We are offering you your life. I suggest you take it and depart before we change our minds.

Korath, spitting out blood, leaves with his men and the ship zooms off into the farthest reaches of space back towards The Kree Empire, picking up inn-Erva en route. The Inhumans rejoin with Black Bolt.

Medusa: Good to have you back, my love.

Black Bolt nods and smiles at that. He turns to Gorgon while petting Lockjaw on the head.

Gorgon: Karnak said you'd be here to turn the tide, my king. His word proves true yet again.

Black Bolt signs to his old friend as if to say indeed. Maximus notices a huge crowd approaching, including Crystal.

Crystal: Black Bolt! You have returned!

Maximus: Yes, Crystal. Yes, my fellow Inhumans! The Kree have been driven from Attilan once again, my brothers and sisters, thanks to the timely return of our rightful ruler and my great brother, Blackagar Boltagon! By the order of our great leader and my brother, Blackagar Boltagon, we are now entering a new age of peace! Free from the clutches of The Kree after all these years just like our ancestors before! History repeats itself again thanks to our rightful ruler! Long live Attilan! Long live the king!

The amassed crowd of people in the city cheer Black Bolt's name. Black Bolt raises his fists into the air and gives a nod. He looks to Maximus and smiles. We cut to black.

Chapter 2: The Woman Named Carol Danvers

Chapter Text

BOSTON, 1986

We see an X-Wing from Star Wars flying into view before we pan out to reveal a younger Carol Danvers playing with a young Maria Rambeau, who is playing with a TIE Fighter. They both make laser noises as they play outside an air force base. Then, an older man walks over and wipes dirt off of his hands. This is Joseph Danvers Sr., Carol's dad and prefers to be called Joe.

Joe: Enjoying ourselves, kiddies?

Carol: Yeah, I have gained a victory for The Rebellion again!

Maria: Please, The Empire will rise again!

Carol: C'mon, Maria, The Empire always loses.

Maria: Nuh-uh, they won in The Empire Strikes Back.

Carol: No way.

Joe: Girls, calm down. Now, if you two behave a little more than usual, I'll get you both ice cream. Huh? Sound like a good deal?

Carol and Maria: YEAH!!!

Joe: Okay, go over to the hil and play quietly.

The two girls rush over to the hill as we fade to them looking up as several jets fly overhead.

Maria: You think we could fly planes, Carrie?

Carol: Oh, I know we will. Just you wait, Maria. We will be the best pilots in the world. We will even go to space.

Maria: Now you're just talking crazy, girl.

Carol: Am not. We will even be the first girls to go into space. Just wait and see, Maria. Just wait and see.

Carol smiles to herself as we fade to white.

NEW YORK, 2002
PRESENT DAY

We fade to the bedroom of Carol's apartment... and also treated to the sight and sound of Carol snoring. Cue her alarm clock going off until our heroine blasts the tiny object with her photon blast. Carol sits up and blows on a strand of hair hanging over her face.

Carol: Guess it's gonna be another boring day... *sigh*

She gets up after yawning, revealing that she's only wearing a polo shirt, red panties, and one sock. Cue her sticking on the coffee machine before sticking on the TV.

Jameson: In other news, today marks the one year anniversary of The Kang Invasion. This weird blue guy from space claimed to be from the future and wished to take over our planet to prevent his erasure or something. Luckily, The Avengers were-.

Carol: Blah blah blah... he loves to run his mouth.

Cue the phone ringing. It's a call from Gyrich.

Carol: Yes sir?

Gyrich: Agent Danvers, we need you at HQ. It concerns your abilities-.

Carol: All due respect, sir, I am in complete control.

Gyrich: Standard procedure, Major Danvers.

Carol: Right. I'm on my way. Major Danvers out.

Carol, after hanging up the phone, sticks on the radio and Little Bird by Annie Lennox begins playing. Cue a brief shot of Carol singing along in the shower as she washes herself before cutting to her suiting up in her superhero uniform (the classic red and black/blue suit from EMH!) and leaping out of her window, falling towards the ground and feeling the wind in her face... before she then starts zooming into the skies. She flies along the clouds while humming the song as she zooms across a massive cloud. She notices a little girl watching her from the window of a passing airplane. Carol smiles and salutes the girl before heading up into the atmosphere. She takes in the view of the starry void of The Final Frontier before heading towards Damocles base, the former warship of Kang The Conqueror and the current headquarters of Sentient World Observation & Response Division (SWORD for short). Our heroine lands in the hangar and is greeted by an old friend.

Maria: Morning, Warbird.

Ms Marvel: Waiting long, Photon?

Maria Rambeau can only shake her head before they share a hug.

Maria: How you keeping?

Ms Marvel: As well as can be expected, Maria. How's Monica?

Maria: Still the same little girl despite going to school now. She misses you, y'know.

Ms Marvel: Yeah, maybe I'll pay a visit later.

Maria: I figured you'd be busy saving the world again.

Ms Marvel: I think me helping The Avengers was going to be a one time thing. Imagine if I had to save their asses every four minutes.

Maria: Yeah, what are the chances of that?

They both laugh a little as they stop by a window overlooking Earth.

Maria: Guess you were right about us being the first girls in space.

Ms Marvel: Yeah, I guess so. Well, I better report to Director Gyrich.

Maria: Don't wanna keep him waiting.

Maria smirks before saying one more thing as Carol walks down the hall.

Maria: Or your boyfriend, whom you named yourself after when you wear that suit.

Ms Marvel: Hey, we're just friends. Nothing more.

Maria: That's what they all say, Carrie!

Ms Marvel: Whatever, Big M.

They part ways and Carol is soon shown arriving at the office of Henry Gyrich, Director of SWORD.

Ms Marvel: I'm here, Sir.

Gyrich: So I can see. Agent Danvers, I wish to go over a few tests. Go to the lab for a full check up.

Ms Marvel: Understood. Anything else?

Gyrich: Take soon tie off. You've earned after what happened last year.

Ms Marvel: I'll consider it, sir. Thank you.

Gyrich: Dismissed, Major.

Carol walks out and we cut to a montage. We see Carol do many things from her lifting a forklift in one hand as some scientists take notes to her testing her photon blasts to see if she can make them hotter. Soon enough, she manages to fire a singular beam of immense power that destroys three walls. She pants heavily afterwards, failing to notice a certain someone standing in the doorway. A blue skinned guy around the same age as Carol (physically, anyway), and wearing a set of armour that is mostly white, red and black. This is Captain Mahr-Vell of The Kree Empire Science Division. He is not wearing his helmet, revealing his silver hair.

Mahr-Vell: I think that wall has had enough, Carol.

Ms Marvel: Yeah, that was my knockout punch.

Mahr-Vell: Clearly. I hate to see what happens to the poor soul that pushes you into delivering it.

Ms Marvel: I think we can agree it won't be pretty.

Mahr-Vell and Carol laugh before sitting on the floor. Carol removes her eye mask before looking to Mahr-Vell.

Carol: So, Lawson, are they treating you well?

Mahr-Vell: Yes, Carol, but it sometimes feels like they still don't trust me after all these years.

Carol: Well, we humans sometimes fear what we don't understand. Well, most humans. We still don't know what will scare Hulk.

Mahr-Vell: I can think of one or two creatures. Nastier than the creatures on this world.

Carol: All creatures?

Mahr-Vell: No. Some are more beautiful than I would've thought.

They look into each others eyes for a minute before sharing a kiss. They lie back with Carol on top as they continue the kiss... and then Carol's comm device goes off, killing the mood.

Carol: Yeah?

Maria: Carol, we need you on the bridge.

Carol: I'll be right there.

Carol turns it off and lies back, sighing.

Carol: Sorry.

Mahr-Vell: Don't be. You should probably go and...

Carol: Yeah, in a minute.

Mahr-Vell: Carol...

Carol: *sigh* See you in a while?

Mahr-Vell: I hope so.

Carol puts on her mask and hovers towards the command deck. On the bridge, Carol arrives just as Gyrich walks on the bridge with Abigail Brand.

Brand: Danvers, got a mission for ya.

Ms Marvel: What's up?

Brand: I lost track of a satellite off the outskirts of Jupiter. Think you can find it?

Ms Marvel: A satellite? Not much of a challenge, Ab.

Brand: Well, if you want, I could always make up an excuse for you to fly to the edge of our galaxy.

Ms Marvel: Eh, anything to keep me out of that damn lab, I suppose.

Brand: Good girl.

Soon enough, Carol zooms out of the massive battleship. In a matter of ten minutes, she arrives at the coordinates just above Jupiter. She notices that the satellite has been reduced to nothing more than a huge lump of debris floating away in space.

Ms Marvel: Brand, the good news is I found your satellite. Bad news is you're gonna need a new one.

Brand: Are you kidding me, Carol?! I just finished that baby yesterday and you fly into the thing?

Ms Marvel: I just got here, Ab. I'm going to survey the area in case the real threat is still around.

Brand: Roger. Let me know if you need backup.

Ms Marvel: Will do. Danvers out.

Carol shoots over towards Themisto after noticing something strange. As soon as she reaches the moon, she is tackled by an unseen opponent. The attacker slams Carol onto the surface of the moon and rams her across the ground before throwing the heroine into a crater. Carol gets back up, fists glowing, and is approached by her attacker, who is revealed to be an older Minn-Erva. Minn-Erva cocks an eyebrow at Carol when she notices the Human/Kree hybrid's hands glowing with photon energy.

Minn-Erva: A Kree? State your name now!

Ms Marvel: My name is Ms Marvel, agent of SWORD from Earth. Whatever you plan to do, I'll make sure you don't succeed.

Minn-Erva: You're not the first to say that, Traitor, and will surely not be the last.

Minn-Erva blasts Carol into the edge of the crater but Carol quickly recovers.

Ms Marvel: I don't fall that easily.

Minn-Erva: We'll see.

Minn-Erva charges as we fade to a busy street in Boston. We focus on a girl drinking tea as the entire area shakes and everyone runs as we pan up to reveal a Kree scout ship. Several soldiers leap out of the space craft and aim their weapons at the girl, who is none other than Crystal.

Kree Soldier: Inhuman, by order of The Kree Empire, you are coming with us.

Crystal stares in shock and confusion as we fade to black.

Chapter 3: Old Friends

Chapter Text

We open with a flashback to Carol’s early days as an agent of SHIELD (one year before the events of The Avengers, to be exact). Carol is in a sparring match with a young cadet of Asian heritage. This is Daisy Johnson. Soon enough, they are in an arm lock.

Carol: Good form but you're a little sloppy.

Daisy just responds with a smirk before tripping Carol up and pinning her to the ground.

Daisy: You were saying?

Carol: Not bad but still sloppy.

Daisy: Okay, Ma'am, where did I go wrong?

Carol: Well, for starters...

Carol uses the back of her head to headbutt Daisy, stunning the young cadet before throwing her off.

Carol: You didn't take me down. And finally...

Carol leaps into the air and delivers a devastating punch... inches away from Daisy's face.

Carol: You got a little overconfident in your own abilities.

Carol stands up and helps Daisy to her feet.

Carol: Now, what have we learned?

Daisy: That overconfidence is a bad thing?

Carol: Only in battle. Why?

Daisy: It will either cost me my life or civilians their lives during a mission. Always keep focused.

Carol: Good, Agent Johnson. Dismissed.

Daisy walks out of the room just as Nick Fury and Melinda May walk in.

Fury: Good work, Agent Danvers. What do you think, Agent May?

May: I think Carol did a good job with that session. However, like the student, the teacher was overconfident in her own abilities.

Fury: Any excuses for that?

Carol: None, sir.

Fury: Good. Remember that we need agents more than ever with HYDRA possibly returning.

Carol: Understood. Is that all?

Fury: Actually, you're being reassigned to guard duty in Area 51.

Carol: When do I leave?

Fury: According to my records, you just did.

We fade to the present as Carol has now brought the fight to Mars' moon. Minn-Erva attempts a punch combo followed with a high kick but Carol blocks each attack and retalliates with a photon blast to the chest. Minn-Erva spits out some blood while smirking.

Minn-Erva: Haven't seen moves like that since Mahr-Vell abandoned The Empire.

Ms Marvel: Well, tell Darth Vader he's not coming back.

Minn-Erva: You say that as if The Supreme Intelligence gave him an option to come back.

They reengage briefly before Carol blasts her towards Earth and tackles the Kree towards the planet as we cut to Crystal dodging laser fire from The Kree Soldiers pursuing her. She ducks into an alleyway to make sure no one sees what she does next. She faces her enemy and generates fire from both of her hands and burns three of them to cinders before resuming her run. A couple more Kree cut her off in a street. The aim their weapons at her head and she stands ready to die fighting. This is when Minn-Erva and Carol crash nearby and create a small crater, giving Crystal an opening to flee the scene undetected by the distracted Kree soldiers. Minn-Erva gets blasted towards her troops and Carol slowly hovers out of the crater.

Ms Marvel: Soldiers of The Kree Empire, my name is Ms Marvel and I'm here to welcome you to Earth! Now, go home!

Minn-Erva: Capture that target. I'll deal with her.

The troops resume the hunt for Crystal as Minn-Erva leaps towards Carol. Before we see Carol landing another photon charged punch to Minn-Erva's face, we are now in an abandoned SHIELD hideout in Boston as an older Daisy (now resembling her counterpart from the Marvel Rising specials with the only difference being that she's nineteen right now) walks into the place, slowly and her arms raised. After twelve more steps, HYDRA agents surround her and aim their guns at her head.

Quake: Okay, guys. Let's consider our actions first.

HYDRA Soldier: OPEN FIRE!!!

Cue them shooting... and Daisy blasting each bullet out of the air after slamming her fist into the ground and causing an earthquake. Moving quickly, she blasts onto a stack of crates and starts blasting back the Nazi troopers onto their backs. Quake hears someone loading a gun behind her and realises that the leader of this cell is the one behind her. Daisy quickly blasts her enemy into a wall before leaping down onto the ground. Her opponent soon follows, revealing herself to be Cassandra Romulus.

Cassandra Romulus: A SHIELD agent I don't recognise.

Quake: Cassandra Romulus, lover of Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker. Your lover is currently waiting for you to get arrested.

Cassandra Romulus: I'd sooner die than surrender willingly.

Quake: As much as I'd love to oblige your request, Fury wants you alive.

Quake blasts her foe into a stack of crates, which then topple onto the villainess. Quake blasts the boxes away along with an unconscious Romulus and handcuffs the villain. After a few seconds, SHIELD cleanup comes in and takes the agents of HYDRA away. In charge of the cleanup is Bobbi Morse, codenamed Mockingbird.

Mockingbird: Couldn't save anybody for the rest of us, could ya?

Quake: I was tempted but they had other plans.

Mockingbird: Clearly. So what now?

Quake: I'm thinking coffee. You want coffee?

Mockingbird: Tempting but no. Fury wants us to check out a disturbance downtown.

Quake: Mind if I tag along?

Mockingbird: Appreciate it.

The two women board the jet as we cut back to the fight. Carol flies into the skies wanting to take her fight to prevent possible civilian casualties and Minn-Erva zooms after her.

Minn-Erva: Why won't you die, you white skinned Kree trash?!

Ms Marvel: Kree? You think I'm one of you?!

Carol forces her opponent back with a photon blast.

Ms Marvel: I'm human and proud of it!

Over with the soldiers, they manage to corner Crystal and blast away at her shield made from the ground beneath her feet until she flies away... but she gets shot down by one of the attacking soldiers. Crystal hits the ground hard and is soon cuffed by the Kree. Cue Carol noticing this, giving Minn-Erva the opening to blindside her with a kick and a gut punch. Minn-Erva flings Carol down the street and pulls out her retractable sniper rifle. Minn-Erva fires a shot, which then gets vibed towards the ground as Quake arrives via jumping out of the quinjet without a parachute. Carol is taken by surprised by this new turn of events.

Quake: Hey, Carol. It's been a long time.

Ms Marvel: Daisy?

Quake: One and only, baby.

Minn-Erva charges but Quake blasts the Kree soldier back with a seismic blast before turning towards the Kree soldiers surrounding Crystal.

Quake: Bobbi, little help?

Cue Mockingbird dropping down and pulling out her sticks to merge into a bo staff. She takes on the closest Kree as Quake helps Carol up to help the SHIELD agent take care of the rest of the soldiers. Minn-Erva attempts to fire another shot at Carol but Daisy reflects the shot with her seismic powers every single time before slamming her fists into the ground to cause an earthquake to knock Minn-Erva off of her feet. Carol and Bobbi make short work of The Kree until they get knocked down beside their field team leader. Carol raises her left arm and prepares another photon blast.

Ms Marvel: Choose your next move carefully.

Minn-Erva: ... This isn't over, Humans. Battleship, transport us now.

With that said, The Kree teleport out of the area back to their ship.

Mockingbird: Well, that seemed anticlimatic. I was enjoying the workout session.

Quake: Your folks at SWORD can track them, right?

Ms Marvel: Yeah. For now, let's sort out the other problem.

Carol and Daisy tend to Crystal, who groans in slight pain.

Ms Marvel: Mind telling us what's going on here, Miss, and why The Kree were after you?

Crystal: My name is Crystal of The Inhuman Royal Family and it's... kind of a long story.

Quake: Inhuman...

Ms Marvel: You know something about this, Daisy?

Quake: Yeah, and it's better if we discuss this indoors. Follow me.

The women leave the scene with Crystal clutching her wound as Minn-Erva is back on a Kree battleship reporting her findings to Kree High Accuser Ro-Nan.

Minn-Erva: High Accuser, I have discovered why Mahr-Vell has abandoned our glorious empire for the third planet in The Sol System. He has met a human woman with powers similar to our own and my men encountered a woman that wore the royal clothing that looked she came from the home of a colony of Inhumans.

Ro-Nan: The Inhuman Earth Colony still lives? This could prove disastrous for The Supreme Intelligence. Meet my ship past the eight planet of that system and await further orders for now.

Minn-Erva: But, Sire, I can take her-.

Ro-Nan: You would dare go against a direct order from me, Doctor?

Minn-Erva: ... No, my lord. We shall await your arrival.

Ro-Nan nods in approval before ending the conversation. Minn-Erva punches the wall nearest her before leaving the room to address the bridge.

Minn-Erva: How long until The High Accuser arrives?

Kree Crewman: 20 hours, Ma'am.

Minn-Erva: Send a small recon unit to locate The Inhuman Stronghold and tell them not to engage until they make contact with one that seems trustworthy.

Kree Crewman: Yes, Dr Minn-Erva.

Minn-Erva looks out the main window of the bridge and glares at Earth as the ship pans to the right and heads off towards Neptune after launching a small recon ship. We fade to black.

Chapter 4: Inhuman

Chapter Text

We open with Carol walking down a hallway in The Triskellion and meeting up with Quake after helping Crystal into the infirmary after she lost consciousness upon arriving due to her wounds. The two exchange a hand shake before speaking.

Carol: Have to admit that you were a sight for sore eyes out there, Johnson.

Quake: Good to see you too, Major Danvers. As for our guest, she's being tended to by the doctors. Took a bad hit from one of those aliens.

Carol: She wasn't the only one but I'll walk it off. So, mind telling me about those gravity moves you pulled off?

Quake: Well, it's kind of a long story.

Carol: I got time to listen. How about you?

Quake: Eh, why the hell not. Remember when you got reassigned to Area 51? Well, Fury and May paired me up with Coulson-.

Carol: God rest his soul.

Quake: God rest his soul. I was put on his team to investigate a disturbance down in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Fury believed it might've been related to Magneto or something. We didn't know how wrong we were once we landed.

Cue flashback to that exact mission one year before the events of The Avengers. The Bus lands just off the coast and Coulson's team (comprised of Coulson himself, Melinda May, Grant Ward, Jim Hammond, and Logan) exit the mighty aircraft, which would later come in handy later on throughout the various points of time in this universe.

Coulson: Remember, if this is Magneto, you are to pull back. Logan, remember to leave at least one person alive for questioning and keep your head down when someone fires a gun at your face.

Logan: Don't worry about me, bub. You know I can handle myself.

With that said, Logan pops the claws and gets into position.

Jim Hammond: There's the kiss of death on that one.

Coulson: Jim, take to the skies and see what we're up against. May, stay with The Bus and keep the engine running.

May: I have it on autopilot. I'm going in.

Coulson, knowing better than to argue with his old friend, nods and May silently asks Daisy to follow her around the back to look for a rear entrance. The two are about halfway there when Daisy decides to start a short conversation.

Daisy: So, Agent May, what's today's lesson?

May: Follow my lead, prevent some maniac from possibly killing us all, and try to stay alive.

Daisy: So, the usual lesson. Great.

May smirks while rolling her eyes before the two sneak around the back to find a way in. Logan approaches the front entrance and takes a couple of sniffs.

Logan: I count at least seven guys inside. No guards or anything.

Jim: He's right, Coulson. It just a bunch of weirdly dressed people worshipping a rock of some kind.

Coulson: Do they look like any of Magneto's followers?

Logan: No association with Magnus. If they were, I can't smell it. I'm going in-.

Cue Logan getting blasted back by a shock gun. Stepping out is Maximus Boltagar.

Maximus: Showing up unannounced? So rude, mutant scum.

Logan growls before getting up to get attacked by a guy made of diamonds.

Maximus: Deal with this brute while I complete the ceremony.

The diamond Inhuman rushes Logan, who deflects each blow with his claws. Jim swoops down to assist by flinging small balls of flame at the diamond Inhuman, giving Logan a chance to land a slash across the chest.

Coulson: May, get inside while we deal with this weirdo.

May: On it, Phil. C'mon, Johnson.

The two women rush inside and start firing their ICERs at the gathered Inhumans just as Maximus walks in.

May: Down on the ground now! I'm not joking!

Maximus: Fire your weapon, my child.

May: I'd be glad to-.

Maximus: I was talking to your friend, Agent.

Cue May getting shot by Daisy, who is under Maximius' manipulation. Maximus smirks as he approaches Daisy, who then drops her weapon. Maximus looks to his followers as they start regaining their senses.

Maximus: Throw the human out. We have who I need.

They take May and leave.

Maximus: I've been searching for you for a long time, my dear. Your father and mother told me all about your possible genes being similar to my own. Let's finally see if they were right about that. Take the crystal and smash it beneath your foot.

Daisy: Yes...

Daisy tries fighting the control over her mind briefly but it's useless as she does exactly what Maximus commanded of her. She takes The Terrigen Crystal and smashes it beneath her foot, beginning her transformation into an Inhuman. This is when Jim Hammond and Logan burst into the room with Coulson, who fires a bullet into Maximus' arm. Maximus groans in pain and flees the scene via a secret passage.

Logan: I'll get that-.

Coulson: Logan, stand down. Jim, find May.

Jim: On it, Phil.

Jim Hammond flies on out through the back entrance as Coulson approaches the crystalized cocoon and places a hand on it.

Coulson: What is this...?

Logan: Dunno but it don't look good for the kid.

Just as Logan says that, the cocoon begins to crack. It soon shatters as Daisy drops to the ground and the ground begins shaking like mad. She soon calms down as Coulson places a hand on her shoulder. She looks to her superior officers and is slightly shaking in fright.

Daisy: What happened to me?

Phil: That's not important right now, Agent Johnson. For now, let's get you out of here.

He helps her up as we fade back to the present.

Quake: The only reason that I know so much about The Inhumans is because I'm now one of them. After that mission, I had to adapt to the new powers. They were a pain in the ass at first but all that could help me was your training and remembering to clear my mind before I make the first move as well as some ponters from Logan. Ever since, people still treat me like I'm me but... I don't really feel like me anymore.

Carol places a reassuring hand on Daisy's right shoulder.

Carol: Hey, you'll always be that same cadet I trained.

Quake: And you'll always be one of the women to help The Avengers save the world two years ago.

Carol: Eh, I don't mind Natasha getting the praise. She helped a helluva lot more than I did that day.

Quake: That finally explains the lunch boxes floating around.

The two share a laugh.

Quake: Listen, I need to check on Natasha's sister. Let me know if our guest wakes up.

Carol: I will.

Daisy heads on up the hallway, nearly bumping into Mahr-Vell in the progress. She continues on after exchanging a salute with Mahr-Vell and Mahr-Vell approaches Carol.

Mahr-Vell: Carol, I got your text. Mind telling me what-?

Carol: Your people attacked that girl because she's an Inhuman. Care to explain a little in case I'm in over my head?

Mahr-Vell: The Inhuman Earth Colony still lives? That can't be. Korath said in his report that they were wiped out. It became a scary story people told their kids before lights out.

Carol: I guess he lied to your superiors, Mahr. What do you know about The Inhumans and whatever else they told you before you defected to our world?

Mahr-Vell: Honestly, I only know what my father told me about them. He said The Supreme Intelligence had been trying to replicate our genes into certain species in order to create an army of super soldiers in our ongoing war with The Skrull Empire over a thousand years before we discovered Earth. We made several colonies and each one was proving to be a massive success, maybe to the point that it would turn the tide of the war in our favour, until the day one colony, the one on your world, fought back against us. Korath, one of our greatest champions, was sent to wipe out this rising resistence once and for all before the other Inhuman colonies also rise up against our empire. However, word had spread about Earth's Colony rising up and we were soon at war with the other colonies. Genocide soon followed by order of The Supreme Intelligence, which was overseen by High Accuser Ro-Nan as well as the other members of The Kree Accusation Order.

Carol: I know Ro-Nan but what exactly is his order?

Mahr-Vell: The highest ranked members of our empire, comprised of Pure Blood Kree like me. They command our forces and pass judgement on planets that are to be judged before deciding whether if they should join the empire.

Carol: And... if they don't join the empire?

Mahr-Vell: The planet being judged gets destroyed by the full might of The Armada. In my opnion, it's a fate that's almost worse than the alternative. A being called-.

Fury: Major Danvers. Captain Marvel.

The two turn to salute Fury.

Fury: Mind telling me what the hell's being going on?

Mahr-Vell: My people are the problem of the day, Director Fury.

Fury: They not get the message the first time, Marvel?

Mahr-Vell: This time's different, Sir.

Carol: And you're better asking her when she wakes up.

Fury looks in through the window at an unconscious Crystal, who stirs a little before not moving again. Elsewhere, just underneath the subway of New York, Minn-Erva's Kree Soldiers are scouring the area for any other signs of Inhuman activity.

Kree Captain: Remember our orders.

Kree Scout: What orders, Sir?

Kree Captain: Kree Scout, we were told by Minn-Erva to locate The Inhuman Stronghold and make contact with whoever seems the most trustworthy.

???: Sounds like a crappy idea, Blue Man.

They all turn to aim their guns at a much older Maximus The Mad.

Maximus: After all, you never truly know what your enemy is capable of once they show off their stuff. For example, lower your guns.

The Kree Scout Party does exactly that.

Maximus: Now, tell me everything about your leader and don't leave out a single detail. Think you can do that, Captain?

Kree Captain: Yes, Lord Maximus.

Maximus: Now, chop chop. Start talking. I've got big plans in store and your people may just be the opportunity I've been waiting for.

Kree Captain: We are...

As the captain tells the tale to his new master, we cut back to The Triskelion as Crystal wakes up. She looks confused a little and stands ready to fight when Carol walks in with Fury and Mahr-Vell. Crystal quickly creates a small rock in one hand after touching the floor and forms a small fireball in her other open palm.

Crystal: Kree scum, you and your kind-!

Fury: Miss, we are not your enemy. Please stand down and talk with me. Now, Major Danvers tells me you know what's going on here. Care to share?

Crystal: Not with him! His kind are murderous bastards that only want us to fight their wars!

Mahr-Vell: I am no longer associated with The Kree Empire. I defected.

Crystal: Lies! No one leaves The Kree Empire or lives to say they have!

Cue Daisy walking into the room.

Quake: You did. Didn't you? That's why they were after you earlier, right?

Crystal feels the rock in her hand shatter due to Daisy flicking the air in front of her to shatter the small piece of earth.

Quake: I'm an Inhuman too. My name is Daisy.

Crystal: Crystal of The Inhuman Royal Family. My sister is the queen of our colony.

Carol: One of many, right?

Crystal: Right. You have the powers of a Pure Blood Kree but look Human.

Carol: I am Human. It's kind of a long story about my powers.

Crystal lowers her guard a bit the more they talk with her.

Crystal: Did it have something to do with that sword looking ship in Earth's Orbit?

Carol: A little bit. I probably wouldn't be here if not for him.

Crystal looks at Mahr-Vell, maintaining her glare on him before turning her attention to her surroundings.

Crystal: Where am I?

Fury: The Triskelion. In my case, home. Welcome to the headquarters of The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division. Better known as SHIELD. We deal with various threats to our nation and I need to make sure you're on our side.

Crystal: Oh no, I can't be here. I was supposed to be back before-.

Quake: Back home?

Crystal: Yeah, my sister will kill me if she finds out that I snuck down to Earth with Lockjaw.

Mahr-Vell: Snuck down to Earth? Your colony isn't on Earth?

Crystal: No.

Carol: Mind telling us where it is and maybe take us there?

Crystal: How do I know I can completely trust you?

Carol: Daisy, Bobbi and I are the ones that saved your life. If we were your enemies, we would have left you to die on the street.

Quake: Plus, we need to get there before The Kree find you again and, this time, they won't rest until everyone on this planet is dead before they finally get their hands on you to pry that information from your lifeless body.

Crystal: ... Okay. On the condition that The Kree stays behind. His kind have done enough damage to my people.

Carol: Director Fury, permission to take Agent Johnson with me to The Inhuman Colony?

Fury: Granted and try to establish a good relationship with The Inhumans. Don't want another mutant fiasco on our hands again.

Fury leaves the room with Mahr-Vell, who gives Carol a small look and she responds with a small smile.

Fury: Marvel, care to come with me to my office and explain to me everything about your people?

Mahr-Vell: Yes, General. I'll do my best to tell you everything I know.

The two men walk down the hallway to discuss more about The Kree Empire and what the looming threat might be coming to Earth very soon. We cut to black.

Chapter 5: Royal Welcome

Chapter Text

We open with Crystal sitting in a chair in what would appear to be her bedroom as her older sister walks into the room.

Medusa: Crystal.

Crystal: Sis, is something up?

Medusa: No, I just wanted to check on you before the meeting. You doing well?

Crystal: As well as can be expected from someone living on The Moon.

Medusa: You're not thinking of sneaking down to Earth again, are you?

Crystal: Of course not. I mean it's not like I want us to interact with Humanity again after all the crap with those blue skinned assholes or anything-.

Medusa: Sister, we've been over this. Humanity can be cruel to things they don't believe in, especially us.

Crystal: But-.

Medusa: I know your heart is in the right place but please understand that our people should remain a secret and accept that any possible ally would not understand us or our culture.

Crystal: Okay, Sis. How's things with Black Bolt?

Medusa: We are fine and, well, I'll explain when you come to dinner later.

Crystal: Oh, you know I love surprises~!

Medusa: Hehe, trust me when I say that this will top the other surprises.

Crystal: I'll believe it when I hear it.

Medusa: Well, I should go before the meeting starts. See you in a while, little sister.

Crystal: Count on it, big sister.

With that exchange over, Medusa takes her leave. Crystal sighs in annoyance before going over to her bedroom balcony. This is when she gets a little sneaky thought.

Crystal: Dinner won't be for another couple of hours so it wouldn't be too terrible if I sneak down to Earth and back for a while...

With that said, Crystal changes into her more traditional comic suit and whistles quietly for her transportation to arrive. We cut to the present as Carol flies on ahead of Daisy's quinjet as they take Crystal back to Boston. They are soon hovering over an abandoned warehouse in the middle of Boston and Carol links her comms to the quinjet.

Ms Marvel: You sure this is the right place, Crystal?

Crystal: Yeah, this is where I told my ride to meet me when I finished sight seeing.

Quake: Good call. It'd be something I'd do if I were still a part of Centipede.

Crystal: What's Centipede.

Quake: A part of my life that I left behind a long time ago. I'd rather not talk about it.

Daisy lands the quinjet and the two women meet with Carol, who lands next to them. The three walk inside and find the place to be abandoned. Crystal offers to go ahead of them and they allow her to do just that.

Crystal: Lockjaw? You here, buddy? Lockjaw~. Come on out, Lockjaw. I'm finished with Earth for today.

Quake: Lockjaw...?

Ms Marvel: Um, Crystal, who is Lockjaw exactly?

Just as Carol finishes asking that question a giant bulldog the size of a sofa and a tuning fork on the top of it's head teleports into the warehouse and lets out a friendly bark at Crystal. This is Lockjaw, the family pet of The House Of Argon and Crystal's best friend.

Crystal: There's my boy~!

Crystal goes over and pets her furry friend, who pants away.

Crystal: There's my doggy. Are you the bestest dog in Attilan? I think you are~. Yes you are. Who loves and deserves all the pets in the universe~?

Carol and Daisy can only stare in amazement at the scene currently unfolding before their very eyes right now before slowly turning to look at each other while Crystal continues to play with Lockjaw.

Quake: This has to be the weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life.

Ms Marvel: Daisy, I was nearly killed by a blue man from the future wearing a purple and green armoured suit. This is tame compared to that.

Cue Lockjaw approaching the two women.

Crystal: Lockjaw, these are some new friends I made. Carol and Quake, meet Lockjaw.

Lockjaw takes a long sniff at both women before deciding to give them both kisses.

Crystal: Lemme guess, you two prefer cats?

Quake: I prefer both, honestly.

Ms Marvel: No, it's just... he's a really big bulldog.

Crystal: Yeah, and he's the first bulldog ever exposed to The Terrigen Mists. And he's also my best friend back on Attilan. Aren't ya?

Lockjaw: Woof!

Crystal: Lockjaw, we need to head home and talk with my sister and Lord Black Bolt.

Lockjaw turns to look at Carol and Daisy.

Crystal: Yes, they're coming too.

Lockjaw gives a look saying that Black Bolt won't like having humans in the colony.

Crystal: I know but it's really important that they come. C'mon, pretty please~?

Lockjaw is quiet for a second before giving a big bark of approval. Crystal places a hand on Lockjaw's back.

Crystal: You guys coming? Just place a hand on Lockjaw and we'll go to my home.

The two women exchange another look before doing just that. Lockjaw's tuning fork begins glowing and, in a flash, they teleport out of the warehouse and arrive on Attilan. Crystal starts counting to five... and Daisy throws up due to teleporting for the first time while Carol tries keeping it together.

Crystal: Yeah, teleporting can do that to people not used to it. Still, it could be worse. You could've been fused into a freakish abomination.

Daisy: Thanks for brightening the mood...

Crystal: Not a problem. Now, come on and follow me before Delvor arrives to-.

Delvor: Too late, little princess.

The group of four turn to be greeted by a beast man glaring at them. This is Delvor.

Crystal: Um... how's it going, Delvor?

Delor: Who are your companions?

Crystal: Oh, them. Y'see the thing is... they're my friends from Earth and I really need to get them out of sight before-.

Cue them now being surrounded by a large group of Alpha Primatives under Delvor's command.

Delvor: You four need to come with me to see the king.

Crystal: Well, shit...

They all follow Delvor's group as they walk towards the House Of Argon. Back on Earth, Mahr-Vell has finished explaining The Inhumans and their history with The Kree to Fury. Fury sighs in regret as the origin of The Inhumans sounds all too similar to the origin of Captain America only much darker.

Fury: It always has to be a super soldier project to win a war...

Mahr-Vell: I take it you know all about this kind of thing.

Fury: I do and you've met one of our own. Captain America.

Mahr-Vell: I kind of felt there was more to him when we crossed paths last year.

Fury: Without him, we would've lost The War. So, any thoughts on this Inhuman Colony on our world?

Mahr-Vell: I think they could be a valuable ally in future conflicts but they probably would prefer to live in peace.

Fury: And what if they have a different intent?

Mahr-Vell: It'd be a big if, Director Fury.

Fury: And...?

Mahr-Vell: If their intent is conflict, I would advise caution until we know exactly who we're dealing with and what their abilities are.

Fury: Thanks for your info, Captain. I take it SWORD will be needing you while Danvers is on her mission.

Mahr-Vell: Yes, sir. Let me know if she makes contact.

Fury: You have my word.

Mahr-Vell gives a salute and leaves the scene. Fury ponders to himself a little before loading up some files on his computer about The Inhumans and Coulson's report on Daisy's terrigenesis. On the edge of The Milky Way, a Kree Accuser Battle Cruiser emerges from hyperspace and slowly approaches the ship of Minn-Erva as the scout ship returns. On the bridge, Minn-Erva bows as Ro-Nan teleports onto the bridge with Yon-Rogg.

Minn-Erva: High Accuser.

Ro-Nan: Rise and explain why a scout ship is returning to your vessel.

Minn-Erva: I merely sent a scouting party to find the location of The Inhuman Colony.

Yon-Rogg: Minn-Erva, I thought I had you well versed in our history during your days in The Academy. The Inhuman Earth Colony is no longer on that planet. It resides on the dark side of it's moon.

Minn-Erva: Sorry but, ever since that fight with the yellow haired woman with our abilities-.

Ro-Nan: A human woman with our abilities? Impossible.

Minn-Erva: I swear on my life, High Accuser, that I speak the truth.

Ro-Nan: And do you happen to know where she is now?

Cue the doors to the bridge opening and Maximus skipping inside.

Maximus: If I may make a suggestion, big guy, I might have an idea where she might be.

Yon-Rogg: What the hell is this?!

Maximus: Not what. Who? The answer to your question is me, Maximus Boltagon of The Inhuman Royal Family.

Minn-Erva and Yon-Rogg aim their guns at Maximus but Ro-Nan motions for them both to hold their ground.

Ro-Nan: Speak quickly, Inhuman, while I still allow it.

Maximus just grins madly at that order and begins telling Ro-nan exactly what he needs to hear about Carol's possibe location right this instant. On Attilan, the doors into the throne room open and Delvor escorts his quarry inside to see the rulers of Attilan. Delvor bows before Black Bolt and Medusa.

Delvor: Your Majesty, I have brought Crystal, Lockjaw, and some humans.

Medusa: Crystal...!

Crystal: Sorry but I had to bring them.

Black Bolt glares at Carol and Daisy. Carol is the first to bow and Daisy follows suit after a short glance of confusion.

Ms Marvel: Your highness, I am Carol Danvers of The Sentient World Observation Response Division and my friend is Agent Daisy Johnson of The Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement Logistics Division. We come in peace and mean no harm to you or your people.

Black Bolt looks to Medusa and starts signing to her.

Medusa: My husband, Black Bolt, asks why the two of you are here and how you know my sister.

Ms Marvel: Agent Johnson and I saved your sister from a small force of Kree soldiers. We merely wished to return her to you personally.

Crystal: Mighty Black Bolt, they speak the truth. If not for them, I might not be standing here right now.

Medusa: Crystal, what were you doing on Earth?

Crystal: Sorry but curiosity got the better of me again.

Quake: Curiosity killed the cat...

Lockjaw: Ruff?

Ms Marvel: Old saying we have on Earth.

Lockjaw: Hmm...

Medusa: And what will your intent be now, Agent Danvers?

Ms Marvel: I know this may seem a little sudden but... I propose an alliance between Earth and Attilan. We share a mutual enemy with The Kree and our combined might may be able to repel them from this part of the universe.

Black Bolt and Medusa share a look before turning their sights towards Karnak.

Karnak: An alliance between our people might prove to be the right decision, Your Highness, but I'll leave the proper decision making to you.

Medusa: Thank you, Karnak. What do you think, my love?

Black Bolt is silent for a brief while before giving his wife his answer.

Medusa: Black Bolt has decided that he will go along with this alliance if you bring your leaders here to negotiate terms but he urges you to tell them that we wish to remain in peace and will only assist in a time of great crisis.

Ms Marvel: You won't regret this, Mighty Black Bolt.

Quake: If I may speak?

Medusa: You may.

Quake: I know I'm jumping ahead but there's proof that this alliance can work. I am an Inhuman. I was forced to become one by some nut job but it didn't really change my live that much. I've been working with people like Agent Danvers for a long time and they treat me as if I were still me before my transformation.

Medusa: We'll keep that under advisement, Agent Johnson. Lockjaw, send them back to Earth.

Before that happens, the colony begins to shake violently and Gorgon runs into the throne room.

Gorgon: My liege, we're under attack by The Kree!

Medusa: How is this possible?

???: How indeed. I told them, obviously. Really, Medusa, you should start using that brain of yours every once in a while.

Cue a holographic screen appearing in front of Black Bolt and Medusa with the grinning face of Maximus. Black Bolt glares in anger at Maximus.

Maximus: Long time no see, brother! You put a little weight?

Medusa: What are you doing, Maximus? Is this Kree attack another one of your schemes?

Maximus: Hardly. I merely pointed them in the right direction to get you as well as their other targets. A human woman with the powers of a Blue Skinned Kree.

The Inhuman Royal Family looks down at the two human guests and Daisy looks nervously at Carol. Carol can only stare right up towards The Accuser Battle Cruiser as several Kree dropships descend towards Attilan. We fade to black.
