Chapter Text
Amelia Watson raced forwards, panting heavily.
Raindrops started to fall onto her head as she rounded a corner and slowed down, choosing to lean against a streetlamp.
"Hhhh...hhhh... I can't breathe..."
Amelia began to cry as she remembered why she was running in the first place - She had done something with Gura that had rendered the Atlantian unable to move.
They had done such an act that... It would be remembered forever. Not even Kronii would be able to wind time back and undue this.
Amelia reached into her ripped/scratched skirt and pulled out a polaroid which, upon looking at it, she started to feel her eyes water, the reason?
It was a picture of her and Gura. Back in the good ol' days...
"It's your fault."
Ame felt her body start to fall. Her entire consciousness was failing and she was far from home.
"Forgive me, Gura, I never-"
Ame's words still echoed in her head.
"Don't give me that, Watson! You knew what would happen if we did this!"
Amelia closed her eyes tightly, her body wracking back and forth with tears and sudden pain. Echoes of what they had done reverberating in her mind... Again and again.
"H-How was I supposed to know!?"
"C'mon, you've joked with people on Steam before about this! Hell, you've even kissed me before! You knew what would happen!! There's nothing you cannot know! You're a TIME TRAVELLER, I'm just a shark-girl from ATLANTIS - We can't be doing this... What have I done..."
Amelia leaned down on the streetlamp, memories of Gura's smiling face flickered out of her memory and replaced with images of Gura in emotional pain... Time and again, her mind flickered between the two - One where she was smiling and joking as Gura's on and off girlfriend and then the second... Where she had consummated with Gura, making the Atlantian's hair change to have Red streaks in it... It was...
It was...
Amelia felt her chest rise and fall. Blood trickled down the side of her head where Gura had accidentally smacked Ame against a wardrobe door-
"Ame... Holy... I'm so sorry... Wait!"
"NO! Do you think this is a GAME!? You can't just decide between being friends and being lovers! That's my decision as well!"
That had been Amelia's last words to Gura before she had escaped from the situation.
Amelia felt the winds blow up around her.
"You can change the course of your destiny, Watson."
Amelia looked up and saw a man standing in front of her. She didn't know his name or anything... Why would she trust him?
"You have no one left. This is your Final Masquerade."
Amelia felt her breath hitch. The pain that had surrounded her made her feel tipsy and light-headed.
Ame slowly rose to her feet. Everything in her entire life up until now; from finding Gura to everything else with Holo-Live... Everything, absolutely everything and anything about it all... It all echoed in her mind.
It made her stand tall.
"You have a choice, Dr. Watson. Do you attempt to change your destiny? Or, do you go back to your old life - Doomed to always repeat this?"
Amelia didn't know what to say or what to do... But she slowly stepped forwards. Her mind telling her that she had to change her destiny... She wanted to make Gura happy, not have to go through all the pain she had put her through.
"I... I will change my destiny. What is your name?"
"Mine? It's Nathan. Surname isn't important. But if you are ready - You may very well be able to restore not only Miss Gawr's faith in you... But the entire continent of Atlantis as well."
"A-Are you saying I have a choice in that?" Amelia asked this strange man. He had a long coat on, a cowboy-style hat, and a monocle over his left eye.
"Atlantis, Gura Gawr; all of it. You are the only one who can make them appear or... Disappear."
"Nathan. If what you say is true... and I don't know if I can trust you... But if it's true... I'll do what it takes to make Gura happy."
"In which case - Use your pocket watch."
Amelia subconsciously reached into her skirt and pulled out her special watch - Looking at it. It was glowing.
Wait, glowing?
"What the..."
Before Amelia knew what was happening - Nathan had disappeared and Amelia felt her consciousness start to fade... Blood trickled down her legs as she fell onto her knees. Untold amounts of pain echoed in her head. Her body warned her of danger - But she couldn't stop it. She didn't want to. She wanted to make Gura happy - And if this was how she did it... This would be it.
Ame slowly put her hand on the glowing pocket-watch and pressed the switch on the side.
"I want to make Gura happy... Watch... Help me..."
Then, everything for Amelia Watson went black.
Chapter 2: Unknown Locations...
Chapter Text
Gawr Gura (or Gura as she liked to be known) was sitting at her computer desk. She was mulling over what had happened a few days ago with... Ame.
Gura went rigid as soon as she remembered her. Everything, from the look of her smile to her hair... She was very pretty. No, scratch that, beautiful.
It was at this point that Gura cast her mind back to when she had tried to recall Amelia Watson, "Come back!" She shouted... But Ame had been bashed against a ward-drobe door mere moments after they had... Consummated.
A Time Traveler and a Shark Girl. Makes sense right?
Gura looked down with a sigh, "No it doesn't."
She looked up again and out the window, longing in her eyes. "Ame... Where are you... I'm so sorry."
What Gura did not know was that Amelia was waking up... In a completely different place. In a completely different time... Completely different... Space.
Amelia slowly woke up and could feel something trickling down her head on one side.
"Nnngh... What the hell?" Amelia felt her watch in her skirt, that was attached to steel, thank word she still had- Wait... Steel?
"Ah. It seems as though you've awoken..."
Amelia looked to her right, spotting someone in a white lab coat.
"Who are you? What am I doing here?" Amelia spoke faster than her brain, "... Is-"
"Gawr Gura is perfectly fine. She doesn't know you've gone."
"G-Gone?" Amelia spoke gently, with a sense of apprehensive-ness. "What... What do you mean?"
"You are in the year 3022, in practice? Over a thousand years ago, was when you last saw Gawr Gura. Or are you like to call her, "Gura"..."
Amelia went quiet. Looking about the room it seemed like a usual operating theatre. Everything was in normal places... It chilled Amelia to the core that, even though she was (supposedly) over a thousand years into the future, the surgeon or "Dr" knew of her and Gura...
"Oh. You should know... Your watch can only go backward in time now."
Amelia Watson had so much in her head that she felt her entire body shudder - Eventually, there was a soft vibration noise that sent her into shock. It ended almost as soon as it had began - Making her faint.
"Ah... Maybe I should've been more... Forthcoming with your purpose here."
Chapter 3: Following Day...
Chapter Text
"Is she awake, yet?"
"Not yet."
"Hooow? She should be awake by now!"
"She's a time traveler. She has a lot of pressure on her shoulders."
"Alright, Kronii. It's time for us to get back to hiding. We can't let Amelia see us."
"Okay, Mumei."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amelia felt her world come back around, it had been a few weeks since she passed out the last time. Only... This time; she was on a big fluffy bed.
No chains. No pressure. Nothing of the sort. It seemed... Oddly like a dream.
Amelia slowly opened her eyes and squinted. It was bright in here... Wait, where was, here?
"Hello?"
Amelia winced as she tried to see who was looking straight at her. "... Hi?" Amelia murmured.
"Ah, you're awake. Good."
Amelia slowly sat up to no arguments and no-one trying to keep her down.
"Rescuing you was hard work."
"Wait... Rescue?"
"Well yes."
Amelia looked to the voice and saw the person who had told her she could change the course of history - Nathan.
"Didn't you say your name was... Nath? Or something like that?"
"Something like that. My name is Nathan. You are lucky we got you out."
Amelia reached into her pocket on reflex only for Nathan to pull out her special watch and hand it to her. "We had significant trouble getting this back."
Amelia blinked. "Why? Why do this for someone you don't know?"
"I don't think that's fair... Mother."
"Maybe it isn't- Wait what!?" Amelia's eyes went wide. "Mother!? I never got with anyone!"
"Except Gura."
Amelia felt her head pound in her head. "Owwwww..."
"Here. Drink."
Amelia slowly took a cup from Nathan which was filled with water. At least, something that looked like water.
After drinking her fill, Amelia coughed a little. "So... Nathan right?"
"Yep."
"And I'm your..."
"Mother."
"From how far in the future?"
"... I don't think I should tell you."
"Why not?"
"That piece of news is saved for the future. Your future."
Amelia Watson shook her head with a soft smile before looking at the big fluffy bed. "I should get up."
"Right. You'll most likely need to know... More about Gura and her lost city of Atlantis."
"... Yes. You did mention I had a say in that. Tell me more."
Nathan nodded and pointed to the window, that was nearby. "There's a lot of information for you to go through. Quite a lot."
Amelia nods her head and grumbled to herself. "I'm going to have to give Gura a lifetime worth of lectures for this..."
