Another day filled with boring meetings, utterly fake praises from the elders, pestering to get married and sire an heir. Taehyung was done with it, and it was only high noon. His trusted right-hand Park Jimin could sense the frustration radiating off the alpha, and so he suggested a walk in the gardens. Jimin knew that Taehyung loved the gardens since they belonged to his mother who is now often bedridden with illness. It was no surprise that Taehyung agreed to the idea, knowing it was Jimin’s idea to help him calm his frustration.

Once both men reached the gardens it was like an instant serotonin release for the alpha. Taehyung visibly relaxed, his shoulders no longer tense, and jaw no longer clenched. The men walked over to one of the benches that coincidentally was right beside the white carnations that were in full bloom. The gardener knew exactly what to do and how to make sure the flowers bloomed perfectly. It was a great relief to Taehyung to know that his mothers garden was being well taken care of.

Speaking of the gardener who was named Jeon Jungkook was coming towards the two men, whistling a happy tune as he walked. Taehyung got a whiff of chocolate-covered strawberries as the gardener walked by and instantly fell in love with the scent. It reminded Taehyung of warmth, home, comfort, but also of excitement. He wanted more of that intoxicating scent was his thought as he watched the man walk away to tend to the rose bushes a few feet away still whistling a happy tune.

“Jimin-Hyung, I think I might be in love…” whispers Taehyung, who was still staring at the man with the intoxicating scent. Jimin made a noise of confusion, not sure where that came from before following Taehyung’s line of sight, landing on Jungkook.

“That’s Jeon Jungkook, the gardener hired by your mother before she fell ill to care for her garden, he’s an omega with a middle to low class family. It seems he took this job to help his family with their financial needs.” Jimin says in a monotone voice, almost robotic if not for the hint of amusement that came through as he spoke. Jimin was sure that things were certainly about to get interesting around here since this would be the first person ever to grab Taehyung’s attention. To say Jimin was excited was an understatement.

“Jeon Jungkook…” Whispers Taehyung in a dreamy tone of voice, sounding a little breathless. It’s like the name itself is something amazing and out of this world. The alpha soaked up all the information that was fed to him, it left him wanting more.

This was just the start of it now that someone managed to grab Taehyung’s attention with or without knowing. Every single person in that castle knew that when something grabbed Prince Taehyung’s attention, to not stand in the way of him and to think it was the gardener. Life in the castle just got more exciting.
