Debated whether or not I should write an OC x canon or an x reader. But I wanted to try writing in 2nd pov so here we are.

Chapter 1: Start considering this as a normal day

Chapter Text

An alarm went off in the room of the short girl at 6 a.m. Tangled in her covers, Ava slammed her alarm clock and went back to sleep. The room grew quiet only for another alarm to ring once again, only this time the sound came from her phone. Ava groaned and silently cursed at her phone to shut up as she turned it off. Another one went off afterward, but Ava remained in bed, unwilling to get up.

Her roommate, who was preparing Ava's breakfast, had enough of her and decided to send in Johnny, Ava's cat. He entered the room, jumped onto the bed, and sat next to her.

Ava cast a sleepy gaze toward the cat. "Cute, but not today," Johnny grumbled as he rose from the bed and leaped from it. Ava noticed a different sound accompanied by another alarm. She opened her eyes to see Johnny, the mischievous rascal, ripping the curtain fabric.

"What–? What are you doin' jerk, cat?!" Ava attempted to stop him, only to fall from the bed. Johnny leaped from the curtain as laughter erupted from the kitchen. You heard what had occurred inside and could only imagine the look on her face.

A little flush of red emerged on Ava's cheeks, embarrassed, and wrinkled her brows. "Argh! I hate you, friggin' cat!" Still, on the ground, she groaned while Johnny sat in front of her, looking cute and giving her big cat eyes "You're lucky you're cute"

Suddenly Ava's ringtone rang. She stood up and answered the phone. "Hello? Oh, It's you Lorelie" She answered with an annoyed tone, in contrast to the cheerful tone on the other end. Ava finally left her room, and Johnny followed her.

You sighed and glanced at her. Ava ignored you and continued to talk on the phone beside the living room window. You can already tell that it was Lorelie because of how irritated your roommate sounded.

Lorelie wanted to drag Ava along to the convention, which was right across the street. Ava refused, clearly not wanting to go with her. Lorelie whined and begged again and again for her to come, trying to reason with her. But Ava, still stubbornly declined her invitation.

"Lorelie, I know that I'm boring… but you're annoying, so we're even," Ava's voice drops to a mumble at the last part, and smirks at you as you sit down on the sofa. You responded with a chuckle and shook your head.

They argued for a few moments until Ava abruptly hung up. "It's too early to deal with life!" She groaned as she sat down on the couch.

"Come on, go eat breakfast and hurry up" You pat the shorter girl's head "You're going to be late."

"Noooooo, I'm tired~. Do I really have to?" She whined, her head resting on their shoulder.

"Yes, you do. Now come on"

"Whoa–!" Ava was lifted by you and carried in a bridal form. She wrapped her arms around your neck, trying not to fall. Ava wasn't particularly heavy and you have carried her before. It wasn't surprising, you have always been strong since you were a kid.

She frowned and furrowed her brows at you as a visible blush appeared across her cheeks, clearly annoyed. You just brushed it off and carried her to the kitchen. You set her gently on a seat and sat next to her.

"I could have just walked you know" With a pout, facing away and crossing her arms. You grinned and giggled as you tried to take a look at her.

"Awe, But you liked it, didn't you?" You poked her cheeks, and teased, "I mean proof is already evident enough on your face" Ava glared at you and shoved your face away. "Fudge you!"

"Ok!" You placed your arms in the air, "Ok, I surrender." Ava eventually put her hands back down.

"Seriously you need to eat," you said, pointing to the food on the table. You both were having sunny-side-up eggs and left-over pizza and began to eat as silence developed in the air.

"Are you gonna go to the con?" Ava asked

"I’m guessing you're not?”

She rolled her eyes “Yeah, no way I am going somewhere with her”

“I dunno, I probably won’t either. I'm too tired and it would be packed with people inside. I'll just stay here and try to go back to sleep" You replied and looked at her with a nonchalant look.

"You still can't sleep properly?" Ava asked, tone laced with worry. However, Ava doesn't fully know the reason but somewhat does has an idea why.

"Uh– yeah~..." You chuckled nervously and continued. "But, It's fine. I'm fine. Don't worry about it" You stumble a bit on your words before changing the topic "Y'know what you do need to worry about? your interview! hurry up"

Ava quickly finished and went to her room to change while you fed Johnny some leftover pizza.

Ava came out of her room and saw Johnny hesitantly sniffing it. "Oh! right, I ran out of yum-yum for you" She gasped "I ran out of munchies-scrunchies for me!"
"And we ran out of food to eat" You added

"Heh, good thing that my interview is at the convenience store!" She proudly said and placed her hands on her hips.

"I'll give you some money and a list of things that we need for groceries" You went to your room to get your wallet and a list of things to buy then handed it over to Ava.

Ava took it with no hesitation and checked her phone to see the time. Her eyes widen and gasped

She kneeled to Johnny "Johnny just try the pizza, it's good for you! I gotta go," Ava exclaimed as she sprang up and hurried to the door.

Ava opened the door and was faced with Jake, the landlord. He greeted Ava awkwardly, fidgeting a little. But she cut him off by hurrying to the elevator. She suddenly remembered that it was trash day and promptly returned to her apartment room.

Jake tried to talk to her, but she brushed by him, grabbed the garbage, and exited swiftly. He tried his luck a third time, only to be cut off by Ava once again, who said "Sorry! Trash! I'm busy!" Ava rushed to the elevator.

"Did she just call me trash?"

"Oh~hohoho~ Ouch" Jake looked at the door to see you, leaning on the doorway. You heard everything that just happened and would be lying to say that it wasn't entertaining. Jake had always tried his luck with Ava, only to be ignored and rejected, and you were fully aware of this.

It was becoming tiresome to see him attempt, fail, and try again. Jake barely realized that every time he tried, he was always rejected and Ava doesn't even realize that he has the hots for her.

You just wished he'd stop trying but Jake was either determined, oblivious, or just plain stupid. Then again it could be all of it. Yet, it didn't matter.

"So let me guess, She ignored you again right? swatted you like a fly in the way. I mean she does have a reputation for that but~ lately she only does that to you, then again you have a reputation of failing. Maintaining your streak, I see?" You chuckle stepping aside from the door "Better try your luck next time when she'll actually bat an eye on you" You slyly cooed before shutting the door in his face

...

On an alleyway, a portal opened, and five men with horns emerged. They warily survey their surroundings.

"So, this is E-urth" With jet black hair and white horns, Asch mumbled.

With ginger hair and orange horns, Noi screamed. "I'm burning!?"

Another one with cocoa hair and dark blue horns, Rhyse eyes widened and turned to Noi. "Noi, what's wrong!?"

"MY SKIN IS ON FIRE! AHHHHH" Noi fell to the ground, the sun's rays piercing his pale skin

One with white hair and greenhorns, Leif stepped up. "Wait, I can–" Suddenly his throat felt tight, and began gasping for air.

"The... air...–" another with chestnut hair and much lighter blue horns, Peirce struggled to gasp for air and collapsed to his knees.

"I didn't expect that the environment would affect us this much," Rhyse grunted. Noi, who was currently laying on the pavement, attempted to crawl to the shade, slowly.

"Stay calm..." Peirce's voice trembled as he spoke, his throat hoarse with every word

"Wise advice Peirce, the effect is faltering but the air still has toxicity to it" Rhyse replied, a hand on his chest.

"Maybe the humans expected us," Noi speculated, finally sitting on a shade from a building.

"Humans aren't smart Noi, There is no way," Leif remarks, shaking his head.

"Prince Asch!" Rhyse called out and gained the other's attention. Asch lay on his back, unconscious. The others try to assist him but are unable to do so owing to the gravity dragging them down.

To their dismay, a human came around the corner to toss her garbage in the bin when she only afterward noticed four males standing about, oddly.

"Hey, are you guys alright?" Ava inquired

"Crap, it's a human," Rhyse alarmed, addressing his fellow Daemos rather than Ava.

"It's got us cornered!" Noi shrieked, although it was impossible since she did not corner anybody.

Peirce commanded "Don't show weakness"

"We can barely move!" Leif irritatingly responded. Gritting his teeth and his hands on his knees to keep him balanced

"Be strong, Hold your stances" Peirce advised

"Are you guys ok?" Ava inquired once more after receiving no response to her last query. The men only gave her a menacing glare as a response. "Uhh... Do you guys have diarrhea or something?" She look around and noticed a body laying, looking lifeless. She gasped "Oh my God! Are you alright?!" She approached Asch while the men's worry heightened, fearing for his life.

"It's coming for Asch!"

"He's dead! he's dead, he's dead, he's dead!"

Ava kneeled to Asch and listened to his heartbeat "Your friend is not breathing?!" Ava yelled as she returned her gaze to the others.

Peirce commanded, "Intimidate it." Leif and Noi quickly followed, drawing their weapons, but Ava seemed unfazed.

"Hello!? Aren't you guys gonna do anything?" The Daemos only glares at her once more. "Oh, for the love of– ugh” She sighed through her nose and calmed herself down “I got this" She pumps his chest thrice before giving him CPR. The Daemos gasps, panicking even more at the contact.

"She's sucking his organs out!?!"

"Through his mouth?"

"We need to act!"

Peirce managed to get enough strength and approached her and grabbed her by the hood of her hoodie. "What the heck?! What are you doing?!" She struggled through Peirce's grasp.

Asch coughed and sat up. "Asch? Are you alright?" The prince got back to his feet, still a bit dazed. "I-I...I'm fine"

Ava kicked her legs and swung her arms about. "Let me go or I'll call the cops!"

"She's calling reinforcements, Evasive maneuvers!" Rhyse commanded as Peirce drew his sword. Ava squeaked, her eyes widened with terror. Rhyse hastily corrected himself "Peaceful evasive maneuvers." Peirce tucked Ava onto a neighboring tree limb and stowed his blade.

She continued to kick and swung her arms again in an attempt to free herself from the tree but was unsuccessful. The Daemos gathered amongst each other before leaving Ava. "Seriously?!, How am I supposed to get down?!" She gasps "Oh, no! I'm going to be late for my interview! Ugh! Stupid sweatshirt"

Ava grunted and whined as she struggled to get down. She mumbled something about taking off her sweatshirt and running back to her apartment without her bra, but the Daemos boys arrived a moment later before she could do anything.

"Oh no... beautiful men"

Asch stood in front of Ava "Descend at once"

"What?"

"Descend" Asch repeated, irritated.

"You can drop the roleplay, I am not in the mood to participate, As you can tell!!"

"She's rejecting Prince Asch's request," Leif pondered, surprised by her boldness in rejecting the prince.

Noi added in. "Wow," Amazed. No one has ever been able to stand up to Asch or even has the guts to.

"Do NOT disobey me!" Asch warned, his voice growing louder

"WOW," Ava remarked sarcastically before slumping into a fatigued expression. "I don't know what your roleplay is, but I'm not into that," she replied weakly.

Rhyse stepped beside Asch and looked at him "Let me try your majesty" He looked back at Ava. "Greetings, It's a pleasure to meet you. Before you stand is Prince Asch the future king"

"Wow, you guys are really into this huh?" Since they're not going away, she decided to join in... sort of. "Ok fine" She cleared her throat and imitated a much higher pitched voice.

"Oh, cruel fate. How could a maiden like me get stuck in a tree, Oh I remember because your stupid muscle-bound friend put me here! Now get me down before I call the cops!"

Asch snapped "SILENCE," He used his magic to light a fire and burned the tree. Finally, Ava was free of the tree and dropped to the ground. She glanced at Asch and back at the tree that was slowly burned to the ground and turning to dust

"D-did you just?--" Ava squeaked, perplexed and terrified. Unsure of what she had gotten herself into.

"Prince Asch! Do not use magic on such trivial matters" Rhyse scolded.

Asch walked to Ava, threatening her with his height "The next words that come from mouth better be–" Asch was interrupted as Ava grabbed his horns and pulled on them. His knights and himself, taken aback at the scene in front of them

"How indecent!"

"In public?!"

Peirce quickly coverer Noi's eyes while Asch's cheeks were tainted with a deep red as he squeaked under Ava. Slowly Ava finally let go of his horn. "They're real, huh"

"How dare you?!" Asch growled furiously, his cheeks still flushed, his brows wrinkled as he looked at Ava.

"I knew I should have slept in today, haha" she laughed nervously just before fainting

"You killed her," Noi stated as Peirce finally released him,

With a shake of his head, Asch said, "No, n-no, no I didn't" He looked at them with a worried look.

Rhyse walked to Ava's body and checked her pulse. "The human is alive, just unconscious" Rhyse reassured them "We need to take her in a establish evasive operations"

Out of nowhere, Johnny purrs on Asch's leg. "H-huh, a spirit?" Asch muttered, shocked by the little thing on his leg. They all watched as Johnny led them back to Ava's apartment.

"It's trying to guide us"

"We need to follow it! It's bad luck to ignore spirits"

"Grab the human and follow the spirit" Asch ordered and looked at Rhyse ”Our journey to conquer E-urth is only the beginning" They quickly left to follow Johnny as Peirce lifted Ava on top of his shoulders.

Chapter 2: Amauter Kidnapping

Chapter Text

After Ava left, you have been awake for hours and haven't gotten a single wink of sleep. Now you're on your phone while buried in your sheets and listening to music through your Airpods. Your phone was about to die anytime soon but due to your charger being too far away and being too far lazy, the phone was clinging on to every last percentage remaining to survive while its owner didn't give a damn.

Your eyes widened when you heard a muffled scream in the background. You removed your Airpods and sat up, confused.

You neared the door and it screamed once more, this time directly outside the door. Your heart dropped as chills ran down your back, wondering how it could have happened, recalling if you had forgotten to lock the door.

With a stiff body, you hesitantly opened the door just a little bit and saw a man running around by the door, being chased by Johnny. You never imagined Johnny, despite being a lazy cat like his owner, would one day act as a guard dog, and chase an intruder, if only that was the case. You immediately closed the door as muffled voices were heard through the thin walls.

"Noi, die in silence!" Rhyse shouted "The last thing we need you doing is alerting the nearby humans" He alarmed in an authoritative tone.

"Are we really going to let Noi die?" Leif spoke, in a much more appealing voice. Seemingly the only one with a bit of sympathy "I'm all for it but–..." Until he said that

"That spirit seems harmless, but don't tell Noi that" You flinched against the door when another shrilling scream broke out.

"His humongous suffering brings me joy~"

"Likewise"

"Enough! Scout the area" Another, ordered with a booming voice.

You froze, hearing multiple footsteps scattered around the apartment, a few approaching the direction of your room. Shaking, leaning against the door as you covered your mouth. Anxiety bubbled in your chest as fear ran through your veins. Your heartbeat resonated in your ears while sweat ran down your forehead and your breathing quickened.

The bathroom door opened and the footsteps started to fade. Your shaking palm rested on your chest, attempting to slow your heartbeat as you discreetly let out a staggered breath, still trying to be as quiet as possible. Although it didn't help that much it was enough.

Your legs felt like jelly as you tried to tiptoe to your phone, which is dead, as expected. Never in your life did you regret not charging your phone.

You looked around the room to see if there is anything that can be used as a weapon but you only found books on your shelves. You picked up one and examined the book with reluctance, debating whether or not you should use it to protect yourself.

In the bathroom, another scream broke out. Your grip on the book tightened, now confident that this would fail, no doubt.

You thought that if you could get out in time, run to Jake and get him to call the cops, everything would be ok. You hoped that karma won't bite you on the butt.

You thanked the heavens that Ava wasn't here, and hoped that she was still at her interview, this made things a lot easier. After all, you only had yourself to worry about.

You crept back to the door with trembling legs. Hesitant, pausing for a minute. You wondered if you should just hide under the bed or in the closet. Or even better yet jump out the window, that would make things easier. You let out a nervous chuckle at your own joke.

You opened the door slightly only to see a demon on the floor directly in front of the door, who had orange horns and was laying down with Johnny on top.

He exclaimed, alarming the others, "The human is escaping!!" Your shoulders tensed, you slammed the door open and ran out.

Someone called for you "(Y/n)!" The last thing you wanted to hear was that voice.

"Ava?! What are you–"

"Behind you!" She warned. Two others, green and blue-horned demons, came behind you. You dashed to the kitchen, grabbing Ava along with you. You looked around before picking up a knife, which provides more justice than a book. While Ava picked up a frying pan. At least if they died Rapunzel would be proud.

Three men, Leif, Rhyse, and Noi, entered the kitchen, cornering both of them while Peirce heard the commotion and emerged from Ava's room. With a protective stance, You pulled Ava behind you. She was trembling, and you weren’t doing any better.

Leif gasped "A weapon!"

"Hah! Guess you didn't expect that huh?" You mocked, attempting to instill some confidence in you but before any of that can sink in, the guys in front of you draw their weapons, which were far fancier than the humans. "What the–"

"Guess you didn't expect that huh?~" Leif retorted with an annoying smirk, turning the tables. Your brows wrinkled in annoyance as Ava sank further behind you, clutching your shirt.

"B-back off" Ava demanded "Or I'll f-heckin' hecking scream" pointing her frying pan at them.

Leif smirked slyly "Wouldn't be the first time I made a female human scream~," He said in a seductive tone.

"Boi, what the fuck–"

"Leif! Hold your tongue!"

"You know what I mean"

"I thought I dreamt you up!" Ava muttered, fear, and confusion evident in her tone of voice.

"She saw us in her sleep?"

"She must have foreseen us coming" Rhyse pondered "Humans in this world are so powerful"

Ava raised her frying pain. "What the hell are you guys even talking about?!"

"Please we mean you no harm"

Peirce’s eyes widened and looked at Rhyse "I thought we mean all the harm"

Rhyse shut his eyes and clenched his teeth. "Asch isn't here” He looked back at the humans with a more convincing look “Please, we just need help and–"

"I saw you doing magic–power stuff. Are you the devil's servants?!" Ava asked

"The...Devil...?" Leif inquired, tilting his head

"She means demon"

"Ohhh~"

"Hear me out, we come peaceful intent to–"

Rhyse got cut off by Asch storming out of Ava's room "I've uncovered it"

"Huh?"

He walked to the group with a proud expression "The source of her Power"

"Really?"

"Asch and I found it before but we weren't sure"

"W-what?" Ava said behind you gripping onto you tighter, fearing for what he found in her room. And then Asch held... one of Ava's bras, confidently with a smug look. Ava's face flushed bright red while you looked away out of respect.

"Whoa, What's that?" Noi inquired, his eyes full of curiosity as the others gathered around Asch for the object that was named to be the source of her powers.

"This human is a sorcerer," Asch pointed at Ava before looking at Rhyse. "Rhyse here" He passed him a bra magazine and flipped it to a random page.

"Fascinating.., It seems like a combat guide" He observed with curiosity as he flipped through the pages. "It shows human females are engaging in a fierce battle with each other with these very garments"

"That doesn't look like any combat I've ever seen," Leif muttered.

With disgust, You took Rhyse into your grasp. He dropped the magazine and everyone was now on high alert. Pointing their weapons at you as you point yours at them.

"Move! And I'll kill him" You said, threateningly. Ava looked at you worriedly. "(Y-Y/n)?" You continued to hold their stare at the men in front of them, trying to steady your ground

"You wouldn't do that!" Noi exclaimed

"Oh, I would" Now pointing the knife at Rhyse.

"Please we can talk about this." The man that was held captive in your arms tried to negotiate, fearing for his life. You could feel his heartbeat quicken.

"Alright then, kill him," Asch said. Everyone's eyes widened. "Asch?!" the others protested. All of them looked at him in disbelief. You scanned his gaze to see any signs of wavering but there were none.

"Hah, I knew you couldn't do it." Asch taunted

"Even if I did, It's not like you would care" You shoved Rhyse. Leif caught him but you kicked Rhyse's back, and both of them fell to the floor. Ava took the opportunity to throw her frying pan and it landed right on Asch's face.

Ava sprinted, screaming. Peirce immediately followed after her, you in tow.

Noi gripped your waist, but you elbowed him in the face, forcing him to let them go. Peirce's out of view but Leif teleported in front of you and struck you with his scythe. You dodged and grabbed him by the arm.

Your back faced his chest as they pulled him on their body. You squared, pulling his arm and carrying him over your back. With enough force, you slammed him to the ground as he cried in pain.

You attempted to flee, but he grabbed your foot which caused you to trip. You looked at him and kicked him in the face; he groaned and gripped his face, forcing him to let go.

You crawled before standing and running to the corner and saw Ava being held by Peirce, screaming and crying trying to get off of him. "(Y/n)!!"

"Ava!" Before, you could run to her. One of them tackled you to the ground, your body facing the ground. You grunted and moved around but to no avail. "Let go of me! Asshole!"

Leif sat on you and pinned your hands on your back. "I don't know why or how you're so strong but I finally caught you" You continued to struggle with his grip, but it was pointless.

"Ugh! let's just kill the both of them and–" Asch said, getting impatient

"You're majesty!" Rhyse interrupted. "You said you wanted a prisoner, an informant if I do recall!"

"This one is too powerful of a sorcerer." His voice lowered into a mumble "And annoying”

"True but that could work in our favor. Realistically, we'll go through this kind of resistance with every human we encounter" Rhyse looked back at them. "Just let Leif work his charm"

Leif nodded. He looked at Ava and you. Although you couldn’t see what he was doing(while still sitting on you) He started speaking in a more quiet and comforting voice. "Hey, it's ok, calm down. We're not gonna hurt you. Hey, look at me" He smiled and showed his naturally sharp teeth which only scared Ava even more, and screamed louder

"AHHHHH, HE'S GOT TEETH!" Tears started threatening to spill from Ava's eyes

"What did I do?" He asked, genuinely confused.

"Wow, I've never seen anyone reject your smile like that"

The other two walked closer to the group. "She seems immune to your charm, perhaps a cultural misunderstanding" Rhyse stated. "She going to alert the other E-urth residence, calm her down now" He ordered

The one who held Ava captive covered her mouth, muffling her screaming.

"Haha, Good job Peirce!"

"Indeed"

"The noise is still unbearable" Asch boomed, lifting his hand and casting a fire. "I'll shut her up"

"DON'T YOU DARE" You shouted, wiggling harder under Leif

"What did you just say to me?"

"Asch, stop!" Rhyse exclaimed. Asch looked at him "We need them to trust us. Hurting them isn't going to help. We'll just wait for her to stop, which should be any moment now"

...

Oh, boy how wrong he was.

Hours went by. It's 6:35 p.m. currently. Ava's cry continued unabated. You were surprised at how long she's able to keep that up.

Everyone sprawled out in the living room. You were given to the ginger and were currently seated on the ground, resting against the wall. Noi sat next to you, resting his head on your shoulder.

Leif was on the floor, staring up at the ceiling. "Why is this day taking forever?!?!" he exclaimed, his arms raised in unison.

"Ugh...I can't take it anymore" The one leaning on your shoulder raised his head and shook you "Make her stop~!" He whined.

"If I could, I would." That was a lie. You, who had handled Ava's panic attacks in the past, knew how to calm her down. But these men stormed into your apartment, threatened them many times, and scared them to death, while one of them physically turned you into a fucking chair. So, essentially this is the last thing you could do in return, by not shutting Ava up. But, oh, how you wished you had music playing rather than dealing with this.

Asch was on the couch. "Just kill her~"

"What?"

"Who's killing what now?"

"Let me try something," Rhyse said, standing up

"We've tried nothing and we're all out of ideas" Asch stood up as well

"I have an idea"

"You couldn't have one sooner" Noi retorted

"Silence!" Rhyse interjected, pointing his hand at him. He approached Ava and Peirce. "Human?"

Ava still continued to scream. "Human!" He clapped his hands together. To everyone's and his surprise, Ava stopped.

Noi stood up. "That work?" Stepping closer.

Leif stood up as well. "Why didn't you try that sooner?"

"I didn't think that pet command gesture would work" He turned back to Ava. "Human, please forgive our intrusion. But we wish to speak with you, If we let you move, will you not scream? We promise we won't hurt you"

Asch crossed his arms. "No, we don't" You eyed him, but Ava nodded.

"Good, Peirce let her go" Peirce let her down and pat her on the head. You were taken aback by the gesture. Given the circumstances, you thought none of them would be capable of such things. You stood near Ava while Peirce took a step back.

"W-what the hell are you guys?" Her voice was a bit hoarse from screaming.

"That doesn't matter–" You walked to the kitchen to get Ava a glass, but Asch raised his arm and flared fire on his palms, causing you to run back to Ava, pulling her behind you "Now tell us about your world or we'll–"

"Your majesty!" Rhyse lectured. Asch’s fire ceased but you stayed on Ava's side.

"So that f-fire magic stuff I saw before was real?" Ava inquired, still can't process the entire situation. Ava wasn't the type to believe in the supernatural or anything beyond that while you, on the other hand, thought that they were demons the moment they snuck in.

You read books about the supernatural, myths, and legends, usually for fun, and didn't care whether or not they were real. So seeing demons in the living room didn't make you doubt that they weren't. But then again, they had 3 hours to process all of– whatever that was while Ava was still screaming her lungs out.

"Allow me to explain. We are from another world and we go by the name Daemos,"

"Your name is Daemos?" Ava asked, head tilting slightly

"No, We are Daemos"

"You're all named Daemos?"

"No, My name is Rhyse and–"

"Your world is Rhyse?"

"Just–ugh!" Rhyse groaned. Your head hung low, trying to stifle your laughter at how stupidly dense the girl next to you is.

"We are from another world. Our home is...uh...being...threatened by a...horrible monster who threatens to engulf everything we care about '' He states in an unsure tone, sweating a little. You rolled your eyes while looking away. It was a shame how much of a bad liar this man is.

"What?" Ava asked in confusion

"That's right, so we've come to E-urth to learn about it, to discover if this world is more sustainable for us to...move our people here"

"Move...your people here?" You asked, skeptically. That wasn't the greatest lie you'd ever heard. Having a sister who is adept at lying her way into everything has its advantages. You’re basically a self-proclaimed lie detector.

"Wait, that's not–" Noi started, only to be smacked on the head by Leif.

"Shshshs~!Just go with it!" Leif whisper-yelled.

"We truly have no idea where we are in this world, or how to begin living in it. So please, can a strong human and a powerful sorcerer such as yourselves help us?" Rhyse bowed down followed by Leif, Peirce, and Noi. Both humans skim the room, somewhat surprised by their actions. Johnny bowed down as well. You looked at Ava and smirked as you followed the gesture, jokingly.

She looked at the other, surprised. "S-stop that" she pushed you and grabbed your hand. "Come on, we need to talk" She dragged you with her to the bathroom.

All of the men look at the two humans, confused. "Why are they going to the death room?"

They both enter. Ava walked to the sink, turned on the faucet, splashed herself in the face with water, and began murmuring incoherent stuff about Jesus being so wonderful that he sent hot demon boys on their front door, or that maybe it was something else.

While you waited by the door and observed the current situation of the other. These spontaneous thoughts rambled on by the second of every minute. You could only watch before running out of the restroom, claiming she had an idea. You accompanied her outside to meet the Daemos who are waiting for them

"Okay! I can help you guys" Ava exclaimed

"You can?"

"Yes, I can! In fact, I know the perfect people that can help you" You don’t usually trust Ava in making decisions since she isn't good at it, well neither were you. So, why not go along with it, and besides where's the fun in stopping her?

"Should we trust this?"

"Probably not" You added in. Ava scrunched her brows, forcing a smile and nudging your shoulders.

"Anything to help us is greatly appreciated"

"Rhyse! This is obviously a trap" Asch argued

"No, I'm going to put my trust into these lovely humans"

"Yeah! They seem like kind humans!" The ginger spoke, cheerfully. You awkwardly cringe on the other hand. Not being able to wrap your head around the fact he thought that you were nice, although elbowing him earlier in the face with a still visible bruise still present.

A heavy feeling built up in your chest. Did you feel guilty hitting this boy in the face, even if it was for self-defense? Perhaps the spiteful yet rational part of you would say no. However, witnessing how pure he seemed to be throughout this entire charade made you doubt, but you decided to push it down and left it to be dealt with later.

You snapped out of your thoughts when Ava announced that they were all going somewhere.

...

"The Government!" Ava announced, raising her arms, and stood in front of the building behind her. They were all in front of the city hall.

"Fascinating, What is this government?" Rhyse asked while squinting his eyes

"Whoa! It's a giant castle!" Noi admired

"No, no" Ava interjected "The Government is a big organization that deals with politics and take people's money without actually doing anything with it"

Leif tilted his head "Uhh... Money...?"

"Yup! Well, I'm gonna leave you guys here, okay? If you go through that door, you can go inside and ask for help, ok? See ya!" Ava grabbed you and sprinted away. The guys look at the humans and then look at each other before walking to the door.

The humans slowed down until they were far enough "You really think that will work?"

"Yeah~, it'll be fine–”  Ava was cut off by the sounds of screaming from the city hall. "Oh fuc-"

"So~. I guess that didn't work?"

"This is not the time!!" Ava quickly ran back before grabbing you once again. When they arrive back, they saw Asch grabbing an officer by the collar and raising him off the ground

"What do you mean we can't go in?!"

"Your majesty, stop!"

The officer coughed "I-I mean that we're closed today and we won't be open until Monday" He wheezed "Please let me down"

"Then this MON-DAY better come now!" He summoned a fireball on his other hand "I have dealt with the most annoying E-urth humans and now this ?!"

Ava stepped forward a bit "No one on earth is that stupid to do that to a cop !?" She whisper-yelled

"I am" You added

"They really are from–"

"--Wait, you thought they're humans?"

Ava whipped her head "YES!?! You didn't?!"

You looked at Ava, dumbfounded "Was I supposed to...?"

"Asch! We need to strategize" Rhyse interjected, trying to calm the prince down.

"NO, I want this human dead!"

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" You chanted

"Please it's my first day on the job" The officer poorly meeked out

"Even better!"

"Wait! Stop!" Ava tried to stop them

"Stay out of this sorcerer" Asch boomed at Ava

"Please listen! If you kill him a hundred more will take his place!" Ava lied, becoming more desperate by the second.

"How can we trust you?!"

"Please, just do! You guys were right, this was a trap, but that's because I didn't believe you guys were from another world or whatever! Just please j-just get out g-get going before–" Ava rambled before the cop raised his walkie-talkie and spoke through it.

"O-officer requesting back up, I'm getting attacked"

"YES! Fight, fight, fight!" Leif now joined in with the humans chanting

"(Y/n)! Stop it!" You took your tongue out in response. "Drop him and follow me!" Ava turned before bolting to her apartment while everyone just looked at the girl.

"...well?"

"I trust her!" Peirce said before running off as well

You chuckled and stretched your arms "This has been fun, But~ I'd rather not get imprisoned tonight" You grabbed Leif and Noi who were closest to you, and ran too. Asch threw the cop violently to the ground before following. Rhyse looked back a couple few times before he came too.

...

Everyone was back at the apartment. Both humans gasping for air. Between breaths, you let out a rugged giggle

"Well, wasn't that fun" You started, heading to the kitchen, and drinking some water.

" Fun?! You call that fun?! " Ava exclaimed, "We could have gotten caught– we could have gotten arrested or something?"

"But we didn’t! And even if that’s the case I could have just called my uncle and bailed us out, and besides what's so bad about prison–"

" Everything!? "

"You get a free roof, free food, free everything,” You said while counting with your fingers “Sure the folks there aren't so... uhh great but It's not like we'd be staying for years, It'll probably be like for a night or two. No harm done. It might not be good for my name or yours but uh y'know, why not?"

"I thought you wanted to be a cop?"

"Before sure, but not anymore. Too tired to do any of that"

"Right~"

"But~ ya gotta admit. That was fun, I haven't felt that rush in like months"

"What's prison?" Noi asked

"Prison is a cell where they hold all the dangerous humans in, the time you stay there may vary, and why you're there as well" You explained

"Ohh~ So like a dungeon. I've been in those before" Leif added, crossing his arms

"You have?" You asked with curiosity

“Of course he has. He is one of the most notorious prisoners in Daemos and once had a bounty for his head” Rhyse answered but not with much delight or respect.

“Before I let him in as a knight” Asch added

You look at Leif "What's it like?"

"Boring, mostly"

You placed a finger on your chin, in thought "Make sense, since you basically do nothing all day"

"But escaping is the fun part"

“Now that’s more like it!” You looked at Ava and gestured at him."See this guy gets it" You exclaimed while  Leif pridefully smirked at the acknowledgment

Ava lets out a tired sigh, ending the conversation before looking at the boys. "So you guys really are demons"

"Daemos!" Rhyse corrected

"Whatever, so you guys don't have anywhere to stay?"

"Nope! We don't have a home here on E-urth"

"Fine you guys can stay here for the night"

"Well, we weren't going to take no for an answer. You are our prisoner, and you will do as I command" The prince states in a menacing tone

You groaned. This man was getting on your nerves and you were getting tired of him. How do these guys even deal with him? You'd guess that their relationship with each other isn't great either.

"Yeah, yeah whatever. You need to get your manners in check" Ava ignored his threat

"Huh?" Asch was caught dumbfounded by the response, which made you snicker

Ava shook her head "Look I'm tired from all of this, So you can make yourselves at home and don't steal anything" She pointed to the closet across the room "There are blankets in the closet and don't come into my or (Y/n)’s room m'kay? M'kay " She turned around and heads inside her room

"Clau-set?"

Peirce, who was sitting on the couch with Johnny, petted him before Johnny jumped off of him and headed to Ava's room, which she opened and let him in. "But I swear to god, If I end up murdered in the morning, I'm going to come back and haunt you all forever, including you too (Y/n) for letting me die!"

"Honestly, If you haunt me. I'd thank you~!" All that could be heard as a response was the door slammed louder than it was supposed to, which indicated to you that she was flustered and let out a cackle.

"I guess we know why she resisted me...She can haunt people"

"She is a powerful sorcerer"

"I think the term would be sorceress" You corrected, still in the kitchen standing up to the closet

"Here are the blankets" You set them on the table "Also, Noi was it?" Noi visibly flinched. Either could be from shock or fear. Your guess was both.

"You said my name–..."

"Come with me" Noi freaked out. He frantically waved his hands and mumbled incoherent words. You took his wrist and led him to the bathroom. The others watched as their fellow knight was likely going to be killed by the human, yet they didn't try to stop them, while Noi begs for help.

"Should we stop them?" Leif asked, looking at the others

"No, let the human decide his faith" Asch replied, as he stood in front of the window staring at the sunset.

"Now that we establish a base camp, we should get some rest. We have a lot to observe based on the events today"

Noi, on the other hand, was panicking. His heartbeat quickened and felt his stomach lurch. He didn’t know what was happening or where he was. His hands were fidgety and wouldn't stop. His eyes were blurry and his mouth sealed shut. He didn’t know what to do but one thing was certain. He needed a way to get out of this state and stop feeling it. He couldn’t breathe and everything around him felt dizzy.

You, on the other hand, were attempting to soothe Noi down. You knew this look and you’ve seen it happen before. You set him down on a stool in the bathroom. His body is frozen and unsteady.

You sat in front of him and grabbed both of his shoulders, making him wince and may be worsening the situation, but he doesn't try to flee.

“Hey…” You murmured enough for both of you to hear, "Look at me, okay."

You had no idea how to calm him down. Sure, you're great with Ava, but even then you had no idea what to exactly do.

He finally faced you, trembling hands gripping your arm for support. He opened his mouth only for his words to come out in a whisper. “What’s happening to me?”

You gave him a look Noi had never seen before in his life, especially not while he was on Daemos. It appeared gentle and soothing, and it elicited an unusual yet nostalgic sensation in him.

You inhaled and exhaled for him to imitate. "Inhale– Exhale" Noi followed "There ya go, that's it...just in and out" You rubbed his back in a swift motion to help him while the other hand stayed on his shoulder and softly rubbed it with your thumb. “Just keep breathing, there ya go…”

Noi let out a shaky breath "There... better?" He nodded, he was still agitated but not as bad as before "Good, now let's patch up that bruise of yours, hmm?"

"Bruise?" Noi inquired, tilting his head a bit.

"On your face... uh, y'know…" You responded and cleared your throat at how quiet you suddenly were. You got your stuff from the aid kit and set it on the sink.

"Um... does it hurt?" You asked as you touched the bruise on his right cheek, not too far from his eyes. He winced, which made you immediately take your hand away.

You grabbed the ice pack from the sink "Here, this is a bit cold so" You pressed it on his cheek which made him flinch away. "Hold still" You held his wrist to keep him still as you gently pat on the bruise. Slowly he started to edge closer to the pack.

After a while, the bruise looks a lot better now, still there but better. "Alright, that should be enough. How do you feel?"

"Better" He responded with a bright smile

"Yeah?" You had a soft smile on your face. It's been a long, confusing, and exhausting day. But that smile made everything better. You were pleased that you had at least managed to make this genuine boy grin, especially after triggering his panic attack.

Your smile faded. You wondered why he was acting so strangely. What had terrified him was enough to send him into a panic attack. Did you trigger something...? The human was scared to know yet equally curious for the answer. Debating whether you should ask or not, not wanting to ruin the moment.

Noi took notice of the human lost in thought and asked "What's wrong?" it was enough to snap you out.

"Uhh...n-nothing" You paused for a moment, looking away

The human smiles and stands up from the chair "You should rest. It's been a long day"

"Ok!" Noi stood up, heading to the door, pausing "I said it before but... I really think you're a kind human!" He said before going out to the living room.

Noi left the room with many thoughts and emotions lingering in him. Leif, who was still awake, noticed his presence "You're still alive? The human didn't kill you?"

"No! They healed me!"

"They can heal people?"

"Yes!"

"Rest Noi, let us speak about this tomorrow," Rhyse said, opening one eye before closing it. Noi decided to lay on the floor, in thought.

Noi had never encountered anything like this at Daemos. Nobody ever looked at him like the human did. No one would even look at him, and although he knows very little about the human, they still healed him. No one had ever held him like that, the way they did. He could only remember one person who did and he admired them because of that. The Daemos slept off, reminiscing that memory that's unlocked after what happened.

You on the other hand pondered for a while, still in the bathroom, thinking about what Noi said. It echoed in your mind and was left to wonder. “How could you ever say that? When I just hurt you?” You mumbled.

You hurried to clean up before exiting the room and heading to your own. Right before you entered, you saw the Daemos on the floor already fast asleep. You fought the urge to want to walk over and place a blanket on him. You sighed and finally entered the room. You closed it and sank to the floor “What do you see in me to make you say that?”

Notes:

Writing this chapter was a rollercoaster of emotions, especially the end part with Noi. So~ I hope ya enjoyed it

Chapter 3: Munchies Scrunchies

Chapter Text

The morning sun shone past the horizon, hitting the large window of the human’s threshold. There the five Demos rested, scattered about, and slept peacefully.

Asch’s eyes slowly opened as the rays of the sun hit his face. He sat up from the weird yet small bed and walked to the windows, staring at the sun. In comparison to Daemos, it was incredibly bright on E-urth.

The prince knew what he needed to do and the responsibilities he had. He knew he had to solve the magic crisis back on Daemos, although still trying to figure out how he’d be able to do so. Great pain and pressure were on his shoulders and he needed to move now.

He looked down at the many humans on the streets, strolling about minding their own business. This world reeked of humans and had so many to take, yet his accomplice insisted on making things complicated for him.

His thoughts led back to the sorcerer and her own accomplice. Both are strong, the human prisoner was able to take out two of his knights, and has a drive of a warrior who is willing to protect their ‘master’. Albeit the fact, his knights were still able to hold them down enough. It was impressive for a human but not like he hasn't met humans on Daemos with the same spark as they do.

The sorcerer, on the other hand, hasn't shown her potential and how much magic she had. But still, the thought of obtaining that much magic in one human, it must be enough for Daemos. So much magic right at his hands, so close yet so far. They wouldn't be able to know how much magic she contained until they tried, right? Besides if she isn’t enough there are others to find. As reckless as it was he was desperate, he needed a way out of his fate in Daemos, one way or another.

He walked to Noi, still fast asleep, and took one of his daggers without him acknowledging. He headed to Ava’s room, looking back once more to check, specifically if Rhyse is awake but he still sat on one of the humans smaller couch, sleeping with Peirce next to him on another couch.

The prince went inside but unfortunately for him his two other knights were awake and aware of his intentions. “Asch hasn't been acting normal” Leif asked, who is on the floor next to the couch Peirce is on.

“Yes”

“Don't you think it’s weird how docile we have been since we got here? Normally Asch wouldn't listen easily and would have acted long before now. I wonder what’s going on…”

“Something changed. It is not our place to ask” Leif crossed his arms and groaned “Your unquestioning loyalty is disgusting”

“I do not expect a former assassin to understand loyalty”

“Oh yeah, fun times”

A moment of silence pass before Leif asked “We should probably wake Rhyse up before Asch does something stupid, huh?”

“Yes”

Asch stood over Ava’s sleeping body. Gripping onto Noi’s dagger, with the intent to kill her. He needed that magic, he needed a way to solve the magic crisis and it will start with this human, in deep slumber not even noticing his presence.

“Human” He muttered “Your sacrifice, would be remembered” He held the dagger high, pointing it at her body. As he is about to stab her a shadowy figure interrupted, hitting him in the stomach before running away. Before Asch could process what happened Rhyse entered the room and Peirce shortly afterward, standing behind Rhyse, observing

“Your majesty put the knife down!”

“Why should I?”

“Knives kill humans”

“And?” Asch raises his brows

Rhyse sucked in a breath “Your majesty I’m all for your ways of doing things but one human isn't going to solve the magic crisis. We need to–”

Asch barely listened and eyed the dagger “Which is the most tender part to stab”

“Don't kill her! These humans tried to kill me last night”

Noi stood beside Rhyse, barely awake “Have you guys seen any of my daggers? It’s missing”

“Quiet Noi, or you’ll wake her up” Rhyse scolded, only for Ava to stir in her sleep. Asch, Rhyse, Noi, and Peirce tenses

“Good job Rhyse! She is going to kill us!”

“You said she seems kind!”

“But she told us not to come in here”

Asch steps back away from the bed a bit. “Uh– she’s going to wake–”

Ava groaned in her sleep, eyes opening a bit. Everyone was shaking and panicking before Peirce kneeled beside her bed and petted her on the head. It doesn't take too long for Ava to drift back to slumber.

Rhyse and Noi let out a relieved sigh in unison

“I could have killed her y’know?” Asch said at Peirce

“Yes”

“Get out now! ” Rhyse ordered while Noi left first before Asch and Peirce followed suit. Rhyse exited himself, affirming that the human sorceress was asleep. .

Everyone was now in the living room where they spent the night and slept.

“I had it under control” Asch turned to look at Rhyse

“Your majesty, you almost had us killed!” Rhyse retorted

“I grow tired of this charade we are playing”

“You and me both” Leif mumbled

Rhyse looked at Leif in surprise “Leif!”

“I kind of agree” Noi started “Why are we dancing around here? We know the humans have dangerous weapons but we had many chances to take on this female human here”

Rhyse sighed and looked back at Asch “Prince Asch, this mission is everything to you is it not?”

“W-well yes”

“If we go back to Daemos without a solid source to renew the magic, there isn't going to be a second chance. We single-handedly killed the last source of magic, that’s it. We will lose everything . We will suffer humiliation and even worse”

“Our heads” Noi looked down., reminded of the stakes that they were in.

“Precisely, No matter how valuable we are in the ranks, we will die . And Asch, you out of all of us suffer the most ” Asch looks down and breathes heavily. As much as Asch hated it. Rhyse was correct, he always has been. He’s Lady Grandma’s prized pupil for a reason. He knows the consequences if he fails, he knows what’s going to happen and the things they all would do to keep the magic on Daemos. Asch’s face contorted into a panic, lost in his thoughts as fear bubbled in his chest

Leif took notice of his state and broke the silence “Lighten up will ya?”

“Huh?” Asch broke out of his trance, now looking at Leif

“We aren't at that point yet. Besides, Asch is just doing things we would on Daemos. Can't shame him for that, huh?”

“I can shame him” Rhyse affirmed

“Well, you can't shame me”

“You do that for yourself already”

“Point is” Leif said through clenched teeth “We’ll do things your way for now Rhyse, right Prince Asch?”

“Exactly!”

“Huh?” Leif was caught off guard at Asch’s outburst

“For now, things are going according to plan. The human prisoners will teach us to be humans so we can learn their weaknesses. Then once we know how they work, we will bring the strongest back to Daemos to extract their magic” Asch explained. Looked at each and every one of them. Although he was desperate, he decided to take a chance with this plan of his.

“That’s a good plan!”

“Impressive strategy”

“See? He had a plan all along”

“All right then” Rhyse paused at the cooperation he’s given “What is the next course of action”

“We kill no humans, we begin blending in” Asch turned to Leif “Leif, wake the prisoners up”

Leif smirks “With pleasure~” He turned to Ava’s room

“We need to begin assimilating ourselves with the humans immediately”

Leif entered the room and saw the human still asleep. He sat beside her and slowly Ava started to wake up. “You should take it as a compliment that I didn't kill you in your sleep~”

“Thanks, can you kill me now so that I don't have to deal with this horrible yet sexy nightmare that has become my life” Sarcasm clearly lased in her voice.

Leif looked at her with a toothy grin and eyes sparkled in delight. “Yes~” He pulled out his dual-scythes.

Ava’s eyes widened at the sight “AHHHHHHH, I WAS JUST KIDDING!” She screamed and fell onto the floor.

“LEIF, WHAT DID I SAY!” Leif flinched at Asch’s scolding but before he could explain, someone barged into the room.

You kicked the door and saw the sight in front of you. “WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?!”

“WHAT?! She was the one who asked me to kill her–’

To Leif’s luck Peirce barged in and stopped the both of them from going any further. As of right now, all of them were in the living room, the guys standing around the coffee table while the two humans stood in front of them. You were leaning on the wall, still irritated as ever, giving Leif side eyes.

They mentioned about assimilation and wanting to blend in with the humans. Ava introduced them to clothes and went to get her piggy bank but with Asch and his impulsive acts and Peirce who just followed suit, smashed Ava’s poor piggy bank also known as the ‘swear jar’. Ava sulked for a moment before finding out that she had one hundred fifty bucks in the jar then was added by you which is now one hundred sixty-one due to the day prior and big thanks to Leif today as well

Ava stood up with her money in hand “Come. I’m going to take you to a very sacred place to us humans” She started walking to the door while mumbling to herself. “Why am I playing along with this? This is the stupidest thing I have ever done!”

You catch up to her before she could leave. “Hey, Ava. I’m just gonna stay here”

“What?! You're not coming? You can't leave me with these guys?!”

“Oh, please,” You waved their hand. “You’ll be fine. Just call me if ya need anything”

“Ok, but you better not leave your phone on silent again” You chuckled nervously at the memory. It was quite often when you left your phone on silent because you didn’t like it when the phone kept on lagging due to the notifications and gave them a reason on why you missed a call. Ava, sadly, was also one of the victims on the matter’. Back when you were in college, you missed a lot of calls from Ava, which led to a lot of unnecessary worrying from the shorter girl. You learned later on to just set it on vibrate instead.

“Yeah, yeah, don't worry about it” You responded with that cheeky little smile of yours

While still in the living room Asch looked back at the other Daemos “Rhyse, Leif. You stay back and make these living accommodations more suitable for us” Rhyse noded

“Wait– What?! Why me?!!”

“Because you went against what I said earlier”

Leif tensed up “Hey, I was s-sort of just– playing around, ok?”

“Stay” Asch demanded before looking back at Rhyse “Rhyse you know what to do”

“Of course”

Asch, Noi, and Peirce went off to Ava as Leif groaned. You went back to the living room to see Leif and Rhyse there. “Wait, you two are staying?”

“Yes”

“...yes” Leif grumbled

“Ah-hah… great…” Your brows twitched as you sighed

You decided to head to your room, lay down, and listen to music while mindlessly scrolling through social media.

Leif got bored and saw the human on the bed, your back facing him. He got curious and called for you, multiple times but somehow you couldn't hear him.

Until said Daemos stood in front of you, face to face. You shoved his face and sat up. Pausing your music before taking off the Airpods. “What?”

“Why did it take you so long to answer me?”

“None of your business”

“Well then, do you have healing magic?”

“Why’d you think that?”

“Cause Noi told me last night that you healed him”

“I don't heal people” You got a good look at him and realized that there weren’t any bruises on his face or anywhere from yesterday. He was the one who got the most hit out of the human, so you wonder

“Actually, do you happen to have er– healing magic?”

He smirked, showing his pointy teeth “Heh, I do. I’m the only one who can among us and I am amazing at it too.” He gloated, while you deadpanned

“By the way, how are you so strong? No one back on Daemos can easily lift  me up like that and just easily slam me”

“Really? Ohh~ careful, ” You sneered “You’re feeding my ego”

“Who?”

“Uhh… Nevermind”

“Heh~ Well it’s good to know that humans here don't go down without a fight but next time if we’re ever to spar again. I won't be defeated so easily”

“Yeah?~ You better, I’m counting on that. Our fight was just too easy, wasn't it?”

“Yeah, it really was since I did win”

You chuckled as their eyebrows furrowed “Well you only won because you made me into a chair”

Leif snickered as well until he noticed a little object in the human's hands. “What’s that?” He asked

You looked down at the object and decided to give him an explanation. “This is called Airpods, this was the reason why I couldn’t hear you earlier”

“What does that do?”

“Here I’ll show you” You patted on the bed since he was still standing in front of you. He sat down while you faced him and he followed. You came closer and noticed his pointy ear. You tried to place the Airpods in his ear but he dodged.

“What~ are you doing?”

“Just hold still” You were able to place the pods in his ear and sat back down. You put the other one on your ear, took out your phone, and played the current music that’s playing, which is Devilish by Chase Atlantic.

The music played through the Airpods and Leif was confused by the sounds that were playing in his ears.

“What’s happening?”

“Just listen” Sounds were playing in his ear and he didn't understand it. It was new, weird, and he hasn't heard anything like this back on Daemos. But for some reason he liked it. A smile appeared on his face as the chorus played. Your head unconsciously bopping at every beat drop, he looked at you and followed along. His eyes had stars in them, looking like a child that got candy for the first time. Happily basking in the new experience he felt and the human has never seen someone this excited to hear music, especially your music style.

You leaned back as the song came to an end. You paused it for a while to see his reaction “What is this? That was playing in my ear” He asked

“That is called music. Music is either vocal or instrumental sounds that are combined in a way to make a beautiful song. Songs are made by humans who put in a lot of work and hours to perfect their songs. There are humans known as singers who use it as a full-time career to earn money. While others listen to their songs and enjoy them like me”

“Why do humans listen to this?”

“I usually listen to music, to make me feel powerful!”

Leif’s eyes sparkled. “Music can make you feel powerful?!”

“Didn’t you feel powerful?~ While listening to it?”

“Now that you mention it, I did!” He laughed maniacally looking at the human with a wide smirk “Show me more of this Mu-sic so that I can be more powerful than Asch!”

You chuckled and smiled before playing your playlist again. They stayed there for a couple of moments before Rhyse stepped into the room to see them both and asked for Leif’s assistance. Leif grumbled and sat up from the bed, clearly not wanting to but complied either way. Leaving the human in the room, who nonchalantly continues scrolling through Instagram doing nothing.

Both walked to the living room. Rhyse looked at Leif and asked, “What were you and the human doing?”

Leif crossed his arms and huffed “The human introduced me to mu-sic which can make me more powerful than Asch! Which you interrupted”

“Mu-sic? What is that? And how would such a thing make you obtain power?”

“None of your business” Leif said, using the phrase the human used at him “Anyways, let’s hurry this up so that I can go back to listening Mu-sic”

After Leif left a minute or so, the Airpods on your ear beeps, reminding you that Leif still had the other. You quickly sat up, stored the one you had, and walked outside, wide eyes to see no one there. You walked around the living room, thinking what could have happened before Ava and the others arrived.  “Oh, hey Ava”

“Did they steal anything while I was gone?” Ava asked you, hoping the guys did steal something so that she actually had a valid reason why to call the police.

“Uh, No? I don’t think so but~ they did disappeared”

“Ok. That’s goo– Wait” Ava stops midway, realizing what you said “what?! Where? Where did they go?”

As if right on cue, Rhyse stepped out of the wall. He looked at everyone seeing that they all had arrived “You’re here! Good. Prince Asch this way” He advised before walking in again in the wall, leaving everyone surprised and stunt

Noi jumped, “They set it up!” He quickly ran to the wall and phased right through. Asch and Peirce followed as well but right before Peirce looked back at the humans one more time.

“Hold up. What?!” Ava exclaimed

You on the other hand were in awe and curious of what wonders the other side had in store. “Wow”

“Wait!” Before Ava could stop you, you immediately jumped through the wall. Ava walked, pausing for a bit before walking in as well.

On the other side a whole new room was built, filled with hanging chandeliers and fountains on each corner as water flows from the second floor. Golden decors decorated the side while furniture adorned the room. Torches and candles were placed evenly to brighten it up

“What do you think? Rhyse bound the room to the wall here that way we feel more at home”

Rhyse looked at everyone “It took a bit of my magic, so I must use the rest well”

Noi, Asch, and you stared in awe while Peirce had a small smile on him “Wow1 great job Rhyse!” Noi complimented

You were speechless from the view “You did this? In minutes? Now that’s impressive and I like those fountains very, very much”

“Thank you, Human”

“Oh, by the way, Leif” You looked at Leif “You still have my Airpods”

“Huh?” You walked closer and took the pods out of his ear and reminded yourself to clean it later.

Ava, on the other hand, stared in disbelief “This is really happening” She mumbled and her voice cracked “This is–” Her sentence was cut by a loud thud. You looked back to see Ava on the floor, unconscious.

“Oh no, not again” Rhyse complained while you ran to her and placed her head on your lap.

Noi walked over and asked, “Is she dead?!”

“No, just unconscious”

“She tends to do that a lot. Why?” Rhyse asked, walking closer to the humans

“It happens when she gets either too nervous or overwhelmed” You explained, lifting her off the ground and placing her on one of the couches on the side.

Noi looked at her worriedly, “Is she going to be ok?”

You looked at Noi with a lighthearted smile “She’ll be fine”  You stood in front of her sleeping body “Don’t worry this usually does the trick” You placed both hands on each side of her shoulders

“HEY, WAKE UP! LORELEI'S HERE!” You yelled and shook her vigorously.

Ava gasped and sat up immediately “This still isn’t a dream”

“Nope! welcome to reality”

Peirce walked to the humans and held something in hand. “Here, maybe this will help you” He gave her Munchies Scrunchies

Ava looked at him in disbelief “Wha–?! Where did you get this?!” She yelled as she took the Munchies Scrunchies from his hands.

“I took it,” Peirce said with a blank face

“Without paying?!”

“Paying…?”

“Okay” She sighed while her brows furrowed “I’m good. I’m good for today. You guys learned about the mall. I got to pretend to be a magic wizard sorcerer or whatever, and you guys stole stuff, cool! I’m just gonna go and return these and uh, for now, just give me some time to decide what I’m gonna do next. Like, just give me a day or week to clear my mind, ok? Bye!” She rambled before leaving the pocket dimension and left everyone dumbfounded.

You stared at the place that Ava just left and picked on your ears. You looked back at the guys and tried to excuse her “Don’t worry about her. Just give her some space” You reassured them and left the pocket dimension.

“What happened…?” Leif asked. The first to break the silence

“Nothing! That’s what. She–” Asch scowled

“Patience your majesty, this will all work in time” Ryse interrupted, trying to rationalize with him.

On the other side, Ava was in the kitchen preparing herself some Munchies Scrunchies. You immediately saw it and decided to jab at her a little “So~” You started, heading to the kitchen. She looked at you with an innocent pout “What happened to returning that” You said looking at the bowl before looking back at her.

She pursed her lips, trying to come up with an excuse “Well~ Since it’s already here and I’m too tired to go back to the mall, why not?”

“Ohoho~ What happened to you~ I didn’t know that you had a dark side!” You playfully smirked while lightly hitting her shoulder.

She rolled her eyes and playfully nudged your shoulder back “This~ is because of your influence”

“Oh! How dare you~!” You exclaimed, laughing. Now leaning on the counter next to her

“It’s true! You always got in trouble back in high school and I had to drag your butt out of it every single time!”

“Oh yeah. The sweat-sweat memories” You leaned your head back, trying to reminisce about the lovely memories displayed at you. How every time you acted on impulse led right back at either the principal’s office, detention, or at the clinic. And how everytime Ava would wait outside the door until you were released from your prison.

“I still can’t believe he stole this thought'' Ava mumbled, interrupting your thoughts. You looked over to her, who was now leaning against the counter as well and eating her little snack. “I mean, he seems like the least trouble out of everyone”

“What happened anyways that made him do that?”

“I don’t know. It must have been when I was contemplating on whether I should buy Johnny’s Yum-yum's or these Munchies Scrunchies”

You assumed the money you gave her wasn’t enough to make her such a hard decision, well at least hard for her anyways “I mean, I would have done the same to be honest” You mumbled under your breath, which Ava heard

“Of course, you would!”

“Of course, I would!”

“You literally stole a kid’s fidget spinner when we were in some community pool!”

“Can you blame me? For one that kid had plenty with him, he literally bragged about it. Two, He literally threw it around the pool like it was nothing. Three, he didn’t even notice that it disappeared! And~ Don’t act like you weren’t in it too. You’re just as guilty as I am”

“You forced me!”

“I convinced you, there’s a difference”

“Still, was it really that necessary?”

“Uhh, Yeah! Do you have any idea how expensive that is?!”

“I could have just asked my dads to buy them for you”

“And waste their money on me?! Uh-huh, no way that’s happening. You know my reputation with your dads”

“Oh come on, They don’t hate you”

“No, they don’t verbally say it to my face but I can tell with those stares, that just judge me as whole being”

“Oh, you’re overreacting” Ava just shook her head and continued to eat her snack.

“Say's you”

“What is that supposed to mean?!”

“You know what’s that supposed to mean, missy” You eyed her and started to get hungry as well. You opened your mouth and gestured at her to feed you. She only looked at you, before slowly walking away from you. You laughed “Oh come on! Give me~!”

You leaned in on her while she leaned away.  “No~!” She stepped away, which made you almost fall before catching yourself. She started running away with it in hand. You chased after her and ended up running around the apartment. “Wait! Stop! You're gonna make me spill my bowl!” She yelled, trying to slurp at some few left.

“Not until you give me some!” She ended up finishing everything in one go, in which you watch in horror.

“No~!” You tackled her onto the floor, the bowl ended up flying somewhere, completely empty.

You looked at it before looking at her “I can’t believe you finished it!” You said, mid-breath, laughing a bit.

“Cause it’s mine~!” You both ended up laughing, still on the floor and you on top of her.

The apartment was filled with laughter and giggles after that afternoon. And even after the outburst she made in front of the guys the air was filled with light-hearted jabs and more Munchies Scrunchies spilled all over the floor

Chapter Text

Ava was standing in front of the boys, only with her robe wrapping her wet body, which you anxiously watched fearing that the robe might fall. Earlier this morning, while Ava was taking a bath the guys barged in asking about the ‘human clothes' and escalated from 100 to 1,000,000 to which everyone except Ava and Johnny, left in the bathroom. You on the other hand were still sleeping peacefully and just woke up to the guys running out of the bathroom, screaming. What another wonderful sight first thing in the morning. Absolute and pure chaos.

“Ok if I am going to be a prisoner we are going to lay down some ground rules!” Ava announced

Asch argued “As a prisoner, you don’t get to make rules”

“Who’s the powerful sorcerer? That's right, me”

“Sorceress” Peirce corrected

Ava grunted exasperatedly at Peirce’s correction “Just– Ugh! Why are you guys coming through my walls?"

“Once our home is linked to a surface, we can enter from anywhere at will in close proximity” Rhyse explained

“So~… You guys can come into the apartment anywhere at any time?”

“He literally just said that” Leif confirmed with sass

Ava clenched her fist and let out a forced sigh “Alright fine, I can fix that” Ava entered her room and not too long later ran out with a red crayon in her hand. She walked to the further right part of the room and stood in front of the wall.

“This is my magic spell wand, called cray-olla” Ava started, marking the wall and drawing a big rectangular shape “Once I mark this door you are bound to only use this spot to enter and exit. If you don’t you will die” Ava looked back at the boys with seriousness evident on her face.

A series of cries and protests were made by the guys and a cheer from Leif. All are in fear for their lives if they tested the human, except for Leif who is more excited at the risk of death.

“You can’t do that?!”

“I just did” Ava retorted with sass in her tone of voice. “Now the next thing, stop calling us ‘prisoners’ ok? I have a name”

“Ava” Peirce then looked at you “-- and (Y/n)”

You looked up at him “Huh?” You were caught off guard at the mention of your name since this whole time you barely listened to the conversation and were stuck in your own world.

“Ha- How did you–?” Ava asked, surprised.

“Your friend at the sacred mall and that you said each other's names multiple times before”

“Firstly, Lorelei isn’t my friend. She just yells friend at me, she just yells friend at me and I reciprocate because apparently, I’m an enabler. Second–” before Ava could finish her rant, Noi interrupted with a question of his own.

“Do you know our names?”

“I... uhh… I– know that… he’s Rhyse… a-and”

Rhyse sighed “Leif, Peirce, Noi, Asch”

“I-I knew that I was just testing ya”

“Wow! Rhyse you passed”

“As always”

Ava groaned, trying to get back to the subject “Now we need to talk about personal space,” the doorbell rang, interrupting the short human once again. “Right after I answer the door. You guys in the meantime put these clothes on”

“But we don’t know how to–”

“Figure it out” Ava walked to the fr ont door and left the guys in the living room, clueless as to what they were supposed to do. The guys look at each other before they look at the other human.

“Huma–” Before any of them could ask, the human interrupted immediately

“No”

Ava stood in front of the door, taking a deep breath, before opening it. On the other side, she saw Mrs. Oats, their neighbor “Oh! Mrs. Oats”

“Oh, Ava! I have been so worried about you”

“What do you mean?”

“I heard you screaming and yelling all weekend. I was especially worried when I heard you screaming 3 hours straight”

“Why didn’t you call the cops then?”

“Oh that might have been a good idea”

“Mrs. Oats…” Ava looks at Mrs. Oats with disbelief reflecting in her eyes, knowing that she could actually have been saved that day and now didn’t have to deal with these ‘Daemos’. “What if I was like dying or something”

“Oh, I’m sorry dear. My memories go when I don’t have notes on my fridge. I’ll be sure to make a note for next time but I’m glad you're alright”

“Thanks”

“Oh, before I ask about the screaming” Mrs. Oats popped out a present that was wrapped in a green ribbon. “Do you think you could take this to my grandson down the street today? You always deliver things on time for me and I appreciate it so much”

“Yeah, sure. I can do that” Mrs. Oats gave the present to Ava as Ava took it in her hands

“Oh! Thank you so much! And here is my usual payment to you since you are so sweet!” Mrs. Oats handed over a couple of coins from her pocket. “Now, What were you screaming about?--”

“Ava, Look! I figured out how to put clothes on” Ava looked behind and saw Rhyse and Peirce, who somewhat answered Mrs. Oats's question

“No one saw him do it and won’t tell us”

“That’s because it’s a test from her and passed again”

“Go away!” Ava exclaimed. The two Daemos turned back and walked to the living room. Ava nervously turned her head back to Mrs. Oats, hoping that she won’t press on “Soo…”

Mrs. Oats mischievously winked at Ava. “Ohh~ I see what’s going on”

Ava's sweat started to dance across her face “Please it’s not what you think”

“I was young once too. I’m glad to see your in good hands”

“Oh my god you have the wrong idea” Asch appeared from behind and walked toward the humans

“Prisoner, get over here now!”

“Oh my~”

Ava turned beet red as she looked at the old woman in front of her. “I gotta go, Mrs. Oats, Sorry!” Ava immediately closed the door and leaned her back against the door.

Mrs. Oats's muffled voice was heard through the other side of the door “I was pretty wild back in my days as well. No shame if you got game!”

“Oh god. Not sweet little Mirs Oats”

Ava walked to the living room, still present in hand. Her roommate in the kitchen noticed her red face “Whoa, What happened with you?”

Ava looked at you with an irritated look “Why didn’t you stop them?!”

“I don’t see what’s the problem?”

“The problem is that now poor old Mrs. Oats thinks that we’re– ugh~”

“Not surprised”

“What?! What do you mean?!”

“I mean c’mon. There are 5 Daemos who are by the way male and 2 humans, which one of them is female and the other is neither”

“Ughh!” Ava walked to her room to put the present down.

While in the living room, still the 5 Daemos stood. Some in awe and some in frustration looking at Rhyse, fully clothed in the human attire that Ava bought. Asch walked to the group and joined them since Ava completely ignored him earlier.

“Rhyse, how did you do it?” Noi said in admiration

“It’s quite simple actually”

“But the sorceress– erm I mea n Ava said that their magic clothes from the sacred mall”

“Use your brain–”

Ava walked out of her room and interrupted Rhyse “You guys suck!” She whipped her head at you, in which you tensed “ All of you”

“Excuse me?” Asch said in a low threatening voice

“You heard me, your majesty. It’s bad enough that you guys are taking over my home but now I have to imagine sweet Mrs little like– ugh~ and she thinks I– ughh–”

“Don’t speak to me like that” Johnny hissed at Asch as you stood up from the stool.

Ava took a few steps closer to Asch “Make me stop then”

Asch summoned a fireball in his hand “Your majesty stop!” Rhyse tried to reason while you were about to approach the two but before anyone could do anything further both parties were knocked down by– something

A shadowy and small figure ran to a corner, white eyes glowing “What is–”

The figure revealed itself as a cute little purple-furred cat with a bit of blue and white highlights.

Asch still wide-eyed, stood there in shock, recalling the incident the day before

“Another spirit?”

Ava still on the ground, shakily stuttered “T-that’s not a cat I’ve ever seen”

Johnny hopped from the couch and approached the other feline and started hissing at each other

“Fascinating, this spirit looks like a spirit on Daemos while the other one looks like a E-urth one

Ava stood up from the ground and looked at Rhyse “Ok when you say spirit. Do you mean cat or…?”

“A what?”

“A cat. So, for example, Johnny is a cat and this new cat is a cat”

“Wow, what an amazing explanation” The other human chimed in

“Why don’t you do it yourself!”

You sighed and looked at the guys “A cat is a type of animal here on earth and I guess your dimension-planet or whatever is inhabitat of those species as well” You looked at Ava with a smug face “How’s that?”

“You and your stupid words” Ava grunted while you only stuck your ton gue out in response

“We call them spirits on Daemos” Rhyse started “Usually they bind to someone and act as guardians of a sort but their uses vary”

Ava came closer to the purple feline and kneeled in front of it “Awe. So, this adowable wittle kitty cat is a guardian” Ava said with her baby voice.

“Spirit” Rhyse corrected

The spirit walked around Ava, barely acknowledging her. The girl stood up and looked at the cat “Not very friendly are you?”

But the spirit instead walked up to Asch, sat in front of him, and looked up at him as it meows, sweetly

“Does that spirit know Asch?” Noi asked

Peirce responded “It appears so”

Asch looked at the kitten back and blushes ever so slightly “I-I’ve never seen this spirit in my life”

“It looks like it knows you,” You said looking at him and then looking at the feline.

The prince looked at the human and yelled at you “I said I don’t know it!”

“Ok, fine. You don’t know it. Sheesh~ didn’t need to be so dramatic”

“Maybe it’s just taking a liking to you” Rhyse suggested, trying to stop them before it escalates to another fight “I’ve never seen this spirit before either”

“It must have crossed from our world somehow,” Leif asked

“Maybe it joined you while you were traveling and just didn’t notice” You suggested

“Maybe. But I have seen this kid of spirit before but very rare to come across”

“Then Asch should consider himself lucky”

Asch glared at the small kitty, who in return just looked at him adorably

“Be nice” Ava scolded “Stop giving that cute kitty a mean look Asch”

Asch, rather than scowling or glaring at her, looked at Ava, surprised. “You said my name” he looked down a bit and slightly smirked “Heh, never heard a human say my name before”

“Huh? What’s that supposed to mean?” Ava inquired

You walked to the group and sat on the couch “Ew, wtf?”

Asch scowled but Rhyse interrupted “uh– huh…Hey, how about since tensions are calm now you guys go back to figuring out how to put on the human clothes”

“Human…clothes? Oh right! I gotta get mine on to deliver this gift to Mrs. Oats” Ava walked to her room

Leif asked, “Can I see you how you do it?”

Both humans looked at him and shouted in unison “No?!” Ava slammed the door to prove her point

“I swear I’m going to figure this out if it kills me!” Noi exclaimed

Leif drew his dual-scythes at looked at Noi, smirking at him “I can help with one part of that”

Ava walked out of the room with her clothes on and present in hand. She looked at everyone then at Rhyse “Here’s what’s going to happen. Rhyse you’re gonna come with me to deliver this present since you were so good and managed to put on your clothes the fastest”

Rhyse eyes sparkled in astonishment “R-really?”

“Not fair”

Leif put his scythes away while Noi agreed with Peirce “Yeah!”

“Stop acting like children! And you!” Asch faced Ava and pointed his hand at her “Don’t order my men around”

“You all want to learn more about Earth right? Then stop fighting me and let me help you guys” Ava reasoned while Asch glared daggers at the small human but didn't fight. Realizing that this had been the smartest thing the sorceress has said since the Daemos arrived

“Just trust me. I’m not going to fight this anymore. I’m just going to go along with it”

“Now” Ava looked at Rhyse “uhh– the horns”

Rhyse's sweat dropped “What?”

“Humans don’t have horns. You're going to wear a hat or something”

“But we wore our horns before”

“Yes, but now it looks odd without your world's outfit. It really stands out and if people found out about you guys, you’d be sent at like Area 51 or something”

“What’s that?”

Asch sighed “We can hide our horns with magic”

“If you get sent there– Oh wait” Ava answered Rhyse's question before acknowledging Asch’s notion “You can?!”

“Yes, we used to hide them when hunting down–”

“Food!” Leif interrupted “Yes, uh, they would…glow! Under circumstances”

“Waitt that’s not–” Before Noi could finish Leif smacked the back of his head to stop him from continuing, which Noi let out a yelp.

“Like this, observe” Rhyse put his hands on his horns and a dark bluish hue ignited before disappearing along with his horns

“Wow!”  “Impressive” Both humans complemented

“Yes, but only Daemos with magic can do it, which means” Rhyse looked at Noi

Noi sadly looked down “I can’t”

“You don’t have magic?” Ava asked

“Why not?” You chimed as well

“I used to. But I used it up to get us here”

“Alright then, Rhyse we’re heading out! You guys figure out how to put clothes on” Ava looked at you, who was reading some book, smirking lightly as the human had no idea what Ava is planning

“In fact~ feel free to ask (Y/n)!”

You looked up from the book “Wait what–”

“We out!” Ava started walking away with Rhyse behind while you struggled to get up from the couch and ended up falling from it. You then ran after the two to the door.

“AVA!”

Ava looked back to see an exasperated look on your face “You can’t just leave me with these guys?!”

Ava then started mimicking you “You’ll be fine~” And immediately closed the door behind her. You grumbled as you heared the other giggle from the other side

On the other hand, Asch stated as both humans disappear from sight “She’ll be the first one to die when it’s time”

Leif walked over to Asch, standing by his side “Patience Asch, this will all work in time. For now, we will worry about those human clothes”

As if on cue you came back from the front door and saw all the guys looking at you “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Prisoner! Show us how human clothes work!”

“No”

“You are our prisoner! You do as I say!”

“Funny how ‘our’ immediately turns to ‘I’”

Asch glared at the human “Now!”

You pinched your nose before coming up with an idea to make them shut up “Well~ I’d love to but I can’t. Sorceress Ava orders”

“But she said it herself that you can help us” Noi reminded

“Uh– well actually while I chased after Ava, she said that I can’t help you under any circumstances”

“I don’t belie–” Leif started but you interrupted

“--And~ just like what Rhyse said. This is a challenge for h er. If Rhyse could do it, I’m sure all of you can too~” You looked over to Noi and smirked “Besides, your buddy Noi over here is almost done actually, almost”

“I am?!”

“Yes! And I bet any of you don’t want to lose to Noi, don’t you?”

Asch and Leif looked at Noi with the pure and utter intent to kill him. “N oi!” They both yelled at him in unison and started to chase each other around the apartment

“My work here is done” You walked back to the sofa to get your book when a certain orange-horned Daemos ran to you and latched behind you

“What the–?” You looked back at the two other who was now in front of them “Or maybe not–”

“Prisoner, get away from Noi right now or we’ll take you down with him”

Before you could step away to not get involved, Noi held onto you closer from behind. You looked over and saw his state before looking back at the others

You sighed “And! You will not do anything to each other when trying to succeed at wearing the clothes, meaning you will not lay a finger on Noi, or else I’m going to send all of you to Area 51”

“What even is that?”

“Where all unearthly beings like you Daemos go and trust me the moment you’ll be sent there, you’ll all be dead meat” You threatened with venom dripping. Asch looked at you in disbelief while Leif looked at you with delight.

“But how are we supposed to–” Asch asked but was interrupted by you

“Figure. It. Out” you emphasized with every word “And you’ll get a reward”

“A reward?”

“Yes! A reward like how Rhyse was rewarded to go out to the outside world? Now behave and don’t even try to come near Noi” Asch grumbled before heading into their pocket dimension while Leif teleported.

You sluggishly sat down on the couch, book in hand.

Noi sighed, surprised they actually left him alone and faced you “Thank you, human!”

You sighed, not really liking the name he called you “Just call me (Y/n), please”

“Ok! (Y/n)” Noi turned around and also left and entered the pocket dimension.

You sighed and slumped your back against the couch. You’re just finally happy that they left you alone for now and didn’t ask questions. But you would be lying that your chest didn't feel heavy.

Suddenly, you felt a weight on the sofa beside you and a heavy thing that was rustling your hair. You looked beside you and saw Peirce with his hand on your head, petting it.

You looked at him with big eyes before realizing what he was doing. You jumped and moved a bit farther from him. “What do you think you're doing?”

Peirce looked at you nonchalantly “Sorceress Ava seems to like it when I pet her head and I’ve done this before, even with the spirits. I figured that all humans may enjoy this. I take it that I was wrong?”

“No! uhh erm– I mean" You shook your head, surprised at how loud you exclaimed than intended to. "um, I’m sure that there are other humans who love it when someone does this to them, and maybe some others don’t”

“Do you not like it?”

“I uh… um,” The spirit from Daemos jumped on your lap, making you pause your thought. The little kitty purred on your lap as you pet her fur, which she leaned closer to.

“You seem to like doing it to others”

Your sweat dropped “You're very blunt aren’t you?”

“Do you not like it?”

“--And persistent” Peirce only looked at you as a response. You looked down at the kitty. “I– uh…" You looked away with pursed lips " I don’t know”

“Why is that?” Peirce pressed on even more. You furrowed your brows at his insistent questioning. You did not like this stupid interrogation. You sighed through your nose, trying to calm yourself down.

You looked at Peirce with narrowed eyes and a forced smile “Aren’t you gonna try it to wear human clothes?” you pressed, trying to change the subject.

“If you teach me” You scoffed, although a bit thankful that he dropped the subject.

“Still a no”

“Then no” You were about to leave when Peirce looked in the direction of the doorway as Leif and Asch came out of the pocket dimension too. You followed their gaze as you heard it as well

“Someone’s here”

Ava stepped out of Josh’s (Mrs. Oats’s grandson) apartment complex, walking back to Rhyse who was waiting outside

“Why did I have to wait here?”

“Because Mrs. Oats's grandchild would think that you’re my hot boyfriend and it’s bad enough that Mrs. Oats thinks that–” Ava stopped mid-sentence and burned up “Uh, nevermind” Ava shook her head and started walking

Rhyse, who didn’t understand a thing that she said, follows nonetheless. “Into?”

“It’s I- uh. Nothing, nothing” She laughed nervously at Rhyse before spotting an amazing sight “Oh! Ice cream truck!” She rushed to the truck while some kids ate their own Ice cream

“Outta my losers” Ava shoved one of them to the ground and stood in front of the line

Rhyse watched in astonishment “She knocked all those humans out, she is powerful”

The vendor looked down at Ava “Ah Ava! My best customer”

Ava’s eyes shone and smiled in excitement “Can I get the Derpy-Eyed Munchy Bear Pop!”

“Anything for you Ava!” The vendor walked to the side to get her Ice cream

“Uh! Make it two!”

“Oh is (Y/n) here? Should I get a–”

“Ah no, not really…”

“Oh! ooH! A friend!” The vendor came back to the human

“Oh shoot! Money” Rhyse walked to Ava to see what the human was doing

“No, no! Take it! It’s in the house. To celebrate your new friend!”

Ava looked at the side “I- I mean he really isn’t a friend but, you know what? Thank you” Ava looked back at the vendor and took the Ice cream. Both went to a shaded table and sat. Ava handed the other to Rhyse and started eating hers.

Rhyse squinted his eyes, observing the Ice cream “What is this?”

“Ice cream! Try it. It’s even better now that it’s free” Ava giggled before looking back at Rhyse “I noticed something today, you squint a lot huh?”

“Some things are hard for me to make out” He slowly ate his Ice cream. One bite turned to another until the popsicle was the only thing left. Stars on his eyes at the flavors dancing on his tongue.

“Wow, you didn’t waste any time there, did ya?”

“That was amazing, I never had anything like it!”

“Your world is dark and gloomy huh?” Ava finished her own Ice cream and stood up “C’mon let’s get back before my apartment burns down thanks to Asch” She said jokingly, chucking a little

“He would do that”

Both of them started walking back to the apartment hoping that nothing was burned down yet. They both headed inside the apartment complex and rode the elevator. After a while, they reached the level they needed to be and headed out to see the door open and heard the sounds of breaking glass.

“Oh no…” The two spirits chased each other in the living room as Leif held Jake, the landlord on the wall with one of his scythes.

Asch looked at the human in the room who just stared at the scene “Did you call reinforcements prisoner?”

“Hmm, if you're thinking that I called him to kill you then no. I didn’t call him but if you do end up doing something to him then go ahead honestly”

“Please don’t hurt me!” Jake pled with his life

“Quiet Human lord! We know Ava sent you in to kill us”

“Oh please, that man can’t kill a bug if he wanted to” As if on cue, Ava and Rhyse showed up and saw the scene in front of them

“I have no idea what you’re talking about?!”

“This human came and snuck in” Pierce explained to Ava and Rhyse

“Was this a betrayal?” Asch scowled

“I was with her this whole time, your majesty! She did not once call in reinforcements” Rhyse tried to reason while Ava still tried to comprehend the scene in front of her.

“That’s right! Wait, Jake?! How did you get in?”

Leif stepped back from Jake while he takes a step closer to Ava and you narrowed your eyes “I’m the landlord, so when Mrs. Oats–”

“Oh my, guys! Can you do some magic to make him forget?!”

“Leave it to me,” Leif said and walked behind Jake and hit him on the head, which immediately knocked him out

“What did you?!--”

“He’s out”

Noi clapped his hands at Leif “Good job Leif”

“Nice~!” You raised your hand for a high five but he only looked at you weirdly. You took his arm and clapped it with yours.

He smiled, “I tried!” Leif boasted with a toothy smirk

“Quick! Put on your human clothes and get rid of your horns before he wakes up!” Ava rambled

Leif asked, “How?”

“The way you do your Daemos clothes!” She exclaimed

“Really? I thought there’d be more to it than–”

“Quick do it!” Peirce, Asch, and Leif took off their tops. To Ava, she felt like time stopped for a second and blushed deep red at the sight while you raised your brows “Not here idiots ”

Everyone put their tops back on while Jake groaned in his sleep “Oh- oh shoot! Um…” Ava quickly looked around before her gaze landed on Peirce. “Peirce! Help me get him outside!”

Peirce's eyes widened “M-my name…”

“Quick!”

Peirce walked over to her and scooped her bridal style “NOT ME, JAKE!”

They were able to finally get Jake outside. Ava kneeled down in front of him. He started to stir awake and slowly sat up. “Huh?” He yawned and looked at Ava.

“Jake, are you alright?” Ava asked with wide eyes. “I am so~ sorry! I opened my door and slammed right onto you!” Ava said, lying and trying to sound believable.

With a sluggish look, he asked “I-it did?”

“Yes! Oh my gah. I’m so sorry”

“B-but the demons in your room and I came in didn’t I?”

Ava tilted her head “Hmm? No, but it did sounded like you were having a bad dream”

“I could have sworn I– Nevermind,” He said, shaking his head. He finally stood up “I’m so sorry Ava”

“No, I’m sorry to you. At least you're alright though” Ava stood up as well.

“Y-yeah, I’m gonna go lay down for a moment” Jake then turned around and went down the stairs. Ava waited until he was out of view before stepping inside of her home and closed the door behind her.

Ava walked to the living room but was met with yo u mid-way. “That ended well, huh?” You joked, trying to lighten the mood

She looked with a tired expression “(Y/n), not the time” You only watched her with big eyes while she walked away and gave Leif a remote to the TV before heading inside your room.

You looked away with pursed lips before looking at guys who were now sitting in the living room.
