Work Text:
Caleb Dume waited patiently at the station for his speeder train, eyes forward, but the force sensing all what was around him.
There was a sudden spike in the force before a sheet of flimsi flew by, followed by a green Twi'lek chasing after it.
Though Caleb knew the Jedi Code well, he couldn't help but do a double take.
She was gorgeous.
Her orange flight suit hid most of her light green skin, but what little of it he saw complemented her eyes, oh those eyes.
They were so beautiful they could be crystallized, accompanied by lips he could only fantasize about how soft they were, all brought together by a beautiful complexion and perfectly cut jawline.
Once she caught the fly-away she made her way back and settled herself beside Caleb, giving a small grin as she did.
Caleb thanked the force for giving him the strength to not spontaneously combust, because the amount of nervousness he was experiencing was unnatural.
Apparently the force wasn't giving him full strength, because as soon as the next set of speeder trains zoomed into the station the wind caused one of his flimsi's to fly away.
When he turned to see where it went he was petrified to find it had blown in the Twi'lek woman's face.
He immediately removed it, which revealed her face in a cute scrunch. She opened her eyes and gave a goofy grin when she caught sight of the flimsi.
Caleb raised a brow in confusion and gazed down at the flimsi to find a dark purple kiss mark near the bottom corner of the sheet.
When he looked back up she was gone.
After frantically searching for a few moments he caught sight of her innocently smiling back at him from a train leaving the station.
And just like that she disappeared.
A few seconds later his train arrived and he was shoved back into reality.
Jedi business, right.
At least he still had the piece of flimsi with her kiss to remember her by.
For the past month Caleb had been stuck doing nothing but filing reports. It was miserable; no dueling, no protecting citizens, no excitement, not even the Jedi Temple, just filling out dull flimsiwork in a dull business building. If he knew this was all he'd be doing as a jedi, then he wouldn't have tried so hard to get a master.
Settling himself a his desk he leaned on his elbow and sighed, letting his eyes stray from his work to the window in hopes he'd find some sort of entertainment.
He found something better.
Through the viewpoint of the building across from him, he could see the woman from earlier speaking with other pilots. He stood in a heartbeat, opened, the window, and with no thought began waving.
When he realized how much of a fool he must've been making of himself he turned to see his colleague's judgmental stares, which caused him to sit back down in embarrassment.
After a few moments he gazed out the window once more, he could feel the force's pull towards her but had no idea how to satisfy it. He glanced at the kissed flimsi for determination and a few seconds later, he had an idea.
Flimsi starships.
He grabbed a report from his workload and folded it into a ship before aiming it at her viewpoint and throwing it.
The result was actually quite disappointing. Instead of gliding gracefully across the buildings it immediately plummeted the ground far below.
So he tried again, and again, and again to no prevail until he was down to his last sheet of flimsi, the one which harbored the beautiful Twi'lek's kiss.
He had many near misses and crashes leading up to this, and he wasn't about to let the most precious flimsi go to waste.
He folded it with care, perfected his aim, and called onto the force to guide the ship to it's desired destination before suddenly, a hard gust of wind caught Caleb by surprise and blew it out of his hands and into the air where it descended into the streets of Coruscant.
Caleb watched in shock as the ship fell out of sight. When he looked upward to the building across he gasped as he caught sight of the Twi'lek gathering her belongings to leave.
After glimpsing around the office and seeing his coworkers had long given up on judging him for his absurd behavior, he dropped everything and bolted out the building to catch up to her.
When he arrived, he found she was gone. He had lost her once again, with no way to find or even remember her by.
As Caleb was sulking he stumbled upon the flimsi ship with the kiss, which he grabbed and threw to the sky in frustration.
Little did he know, the flimsi ship joined all the others he'd thrown in an alley near his building. A few moments after the kissed starship landed softly, the rest of the ships slowly began to take flight.
What caused this miracle was not wind, but fate.
Gliding and dancing through the air, the flimsi starships soared through the sky to find Caleb.
Not far from where he was last, Caleb was solemnly walking back to work. He had lost his motivation and was forced back into his usual dull life, leaving him tormented with the thought of if only.
Suddenly Caleb was forcefully pushed back by a swarm of flimsi starships.
Their persistence left him swatting and stumbling backwards as he tried resisting their rough guidance. It seemed as if they had a goal.
Meanwhile the flimsi starship blessed with the Twi'lek's kiss flew to the local market and landed itself in a bouquet of flowers at a booth she was at.
It didn't take long for her to realize what it was; when she tried to grab it, it zoomed out of her grasp and down the street.
Though it felt a bit silly, she couldn't help but chase after it.
She didn't know how it was happening, or why it was happening, but she had a feeling it should.
Little by little, the flimsi starship guided the beautiful Twi'lek through the streets, up a fight of stairs, and onto a speeder train.
Simultaneously the cluster of starships pushed Caleb into a separate train and practically shoved him in a seat, where they restrained him more if he tried to escape their grasp.
Though he felt a bit frightened by the flimsi fleet holding him down, he couldn't help but wonder why and where they were taking him.
It was on the train where the starship allowed the Twi'lek woman to catch it. When she did she took a seat and gazed down at it in wonder as the train made its way to its destination.
When she exited the train she tossed the starship around in her hands, urging it to continue guiding her, but it remained lifeless in her palms.
Once Caleb's train arrived at the station the flimsi starships ceased their guidance and fell limb.
The Twi'lek gave up on the ship and Caleb brushed a few off as he stepped out the train. When they finally looked up they found the other standing before them.
She, even more beautiful than he remembered as she stared back at him in wonder, and he, almost fully covered in flimsi gazing with wide eyes as he caught his breath.
The Twi'lek began walking over to him and in response Caleb stumbled foward, shaking the rest of the ships off.
They met eyes and smiled.
The end.
