Chapter Text
There was a terrible tradition that the kingdom followed no matter who was the ruler. There was a cursed forest where two ancient gods lived, their mansion deep in the fog shrouded wilderness and the gods demanded four sacrifices each 50 years. The king many years ago when the truce with the gods was tied made a decision that four criminals will be used for sacrifice. And just as always another 50 years have passed and the guards were escorting four criminals, this time skeleton monsters to the forest’s entrance, the old stone gate leading to the shadowed road leading deeper into the trees. The sacrifice being brought is the only time the gate is open, closing right after the four unlucky ones walk inside.
In the wagon the skeletons were all sitting as far away from one another as they could. One had a crack in his skull and a lone red eye, he was also the biggest of the four and dressed in clothes usually worn by hunters, an ax and several knives at his belt. Another one was in a dark coat with the hood tugged over his skull, only the mismatched eyelights visible from under there, a dark red scarf wrapped around his neck and his rune covered hands to prove him being a mage. The third had his soul misshaped and floating in front of his chest, black streaks leaving his empty eye sockets and a dark jacket with a furry hood, many knives and a short sword in his possession. The last skeleton wore the garb of a knight from the neighboring kingdom and was most probably a war prisoner, a large sword and two daggers on his body. He had a red scar under his red eye, the other one brightly white as if that wound poisoned him and caused the eye to change color.
The four were eerily quiet, not knowing what awaited them in that forest. It may just be worse than the death sentence. Monsters live so long and yet no one ever leaves, there’s nothing proving that they survived. And it painted a grim picture for the four.
At least they let them have weapons but what good will it do against gods.
The wagon stopped sharply and a harsh voice bellowed at them, “Get out you bastards!” The metal crate keeping them inside opened and the chained skeletons slowly walked out. They would never be able to run, not with the amount of guards standing over them. Each was pushed close to the gate and after they were unchained they were pushed behind it, thorny vines covering it now that they were inside.
The four looked at one another and without exchanging any words started heading down the road, hoping for it to split along the way. Being alone would probably be safer when hunted by ancient gods that you can’t fight anyway.
They were unaware of two pairs of eyes observing them… well, one and a half pairs of eyes.
-------
Nightmare hummed quietly as he observed the newcomers. They were more interesting than the last ones. Stained with LOVE and yet still good and positivity deep in their souls. They weren’t fully corrupted, even the one carrying liquid negativity.
“I wanna keep those ones brother.” A soft tone rang out next to him. The goop covered-skeleton god, as this was the shape they decided to take, smiled and tugged his brother closer, kissing him with a deep rumble in his chest.
“You speak my mind brother.” He said once they broke the kiss, “Do you want to hunt or would you rather use a softer approach?”
Dream grinned, “I would never give up the hunt, you know how much I love it. We will have to wait until they split up, I don’t want to come in your way as we hunt in completely different ways.”
Nightmare nodded and looked at the four that were still walking without a word spoken, “Which one do you want to have, my dearest brother?” He asked as his cyan eye spied on the four.
Dream hummed with a smile that could be seen as innocent if not for the hungry look in his eyes, “The knight, he seems like good fun.” He shivered with anticipation, “Can I feed too, it has been a while, brother~.” He whined.
Nightmare let his scaly wings bump into the feathered wings his brother sported, “Of course, you have my permission. And be loud, maybe I will be able to hear your pleasured screams echoing for weeks in the forest again.”
Dream chuckled and turned to wrap his arms around Nightmare’s neck, kissing him deeply, “Well, maybe we will have to make love in the forest more often. It will give you the excuse to groom my wings from all the leaves and sticks as well. Even if the bed is rather nice.”
Nightmare kissed Dream deeply, his hands carding through the soft feathers in a caring motion, “Anything you desire my dear~.” Dream let out a happy squeal and rushed to follow after the four new sacrifices.
The night would set soon and well before they would reach the first split of the road… and yet none of them would lead them to the mansion where the gods lived along with several of the other sacrifices they decided to keep, all serving in the mansion, keeping it functioning.
"Should we guard them during the night or let them prove themselves, brother?" Dream asked quietly.
Nightmare hummed in thought, "Let them deal with some beasts but let’s keep the worst ones at bay. They still need to be strong enough for the hunt to be successfully entertaining." He said simply. Dream nodded in agreement and once he noticed the four setting camp he pushed Nightmare down onto the grass with a grin.
The other let himself fall and accepted the warm weight of his brother settling on his hips, "There's still time before the beasts wake. Let's use it fruitfully." Dream whispered against Nightmare’s teeth, rolling his hips to show his pussy summoned under the clothes. Nightmare’s magic surged, Dream’s pussy now rutting against his dick.
Nightmare spread out his coat on the ground and swiftly switched their positions. He kissed Dream deeply and tugged both of their pants off, freeing his tentacle-like dick, cold air against the heated ecto, causing Dream to whine into the kiss. Nightmare rubbed his dick along the folds, slicking it up to then change the angle and bottom out in one smooth move, Dream breaking the kiss to moan. They rocked against one another in a wild tandem, Dream’s wings fluttering, his short claws scratching at Nightmare’s clothed back and the obsidian wings.
They didn’t see the four new skeletons flinching at the echoey sounds, their fear not letting them recognize it for what it was.
--------
Cross gulped at the haunted scream that rang from deep in the dark forest. He looked at the others, seeing them also look at the treeline warily and decided to speak up, “We should take turns in keeping watch. Only other choice is for all of us to spend the whole night up and being tired while in such a place is not ideal either.” He said with a barely there tremor in his voice, “I’m Cross by the way.”
The skeleton with black streaks down his face smirked, “I’m Killer, and well… can’t argue with you, baby knight. Won’t refuse a nap.” He said teasingly, causing Cross to sputter, a purple blush of embarrassment rising on his face.
The skeleton with a crack in his skull shuffled on his feet, “Horror… was a hunter up the mountains...”
The skeleton with a hood over his skull tugged it up a little to reveal his face, “I’m Dust. I was a mage working for the royals.” He said with a shrug, tugging the hood back over his face.
They set up camp, lit up a fire to keep warm and decided on the order for the watch. Cross decided to stay up first while the others settled down to sleep. The knight was on guard, his senses keen on the surroundings. As the night fully started beasts started to skitter around. Cross would take care of them swiftly, the others not even getting the time to stir at the noise before it was quiet again.
He wanted to thank the gods, but in such situation it would be stupid to gain their attention… anyway, he was glad when it was the time to wake Killer up, the skeleton looking around impressed at the corpses piled under a tree a good distance away from them, “I see you know how to use that big sword of yours… sure you are not compensating for something though?” He said looking at Cross’ crotch with a smirk.
Cross grumbled with a blush and a middle finger sent at Killer as he laid down and went to sleep, glad to rest after all the fighting.
The rest of the night went the same, two more switches happening, more beast corpses piling up until the sun broke through the heavy fog. The four skeletons were slightly tired but still the sleep was appreciated. They were glad the beasts seemed to settle down come morning.
They were still unaware of the gods following them.
------
Nightmare had to say he was impressed and now sure of how to proceed with the hunts, “With Killer both of us will need to be present, me to consume the negativity and you to soothe his soul, that will be the only way to bring his walls down. I will leave Cross to you… I will take care of Dust today and Horror...”
Dream smiled, “How about you try, I’m sure you can take care of both of them quickly. Do we bring them to the mansion afterwards?” He asked eagerly.
Nightmare nodded, “If they fall unconscious or asleep, maybe… to one of the nice rooms but the one with...”
“With the wards, I know. Wouldn’t want our new pets to run away~.” Dream purred with a hungry throb to his soul. It has been a while since he fed on pleasure other than from his brother and maybe the castle’s staff when they frolicked among themselves. He couldn’t wait to find out their flavors. He was sure Nightmare was also looking forward to the sweet thrill of the hunt.
They looked at the four that were heading closer to the first split in the road. It was designed to split into four so the sacrifices had no other choice but separate and let the brothers either kill them without a rush or to have some more pleasurable fun.
Soon..
