Chapter Text

Working at Jack In the Box Entertainment is rarely uneventful.

Fuck fuck fuck ,” Jungkook urges in a desperate, hushed whisper, opening the first door on his way, which turns out to be Taehyung’s studio.

“What’s going on?” Taehyung hisses right back, confused and disoriented, as anyone would if anyone entered your studio in a rush at 8am. “What happened? Are we having a tax audit? I told Hoseok not to buy those—”

“–I saw Kim fucking Namjoon down the hall. He looked at me .”

There's proper and appropriate ways to react to seeing your teenage idol crush show up at your workplace. Running away from them is not one of those. When Jungkook entered the building, walking past the double doors of the main company's entrance, Kim Namjoon, known as RM, stood there, leaned against the wall next to the coffee machine, laughing with Hoseok as if they were old friends.

Jungkook is not jealous.

"Hoseok just signed him in, you'll get used to seeing him around," Taehyung says, lightly nudging Jungkook's butt with his foot, because Jungkook had crawled under his desk for obvious reasons. "Like I've grown accustomed to seeing Kim Seokjin around here."

Except Kim Seokjin isn't a well-known rapper like RM, but rather a coworker who is very good at his job and also very good at rejecting Taehyung's advances. Taehyung always writes beautiful song lyrics, but he sucks at flirting in Jungkook's opinion.

"I noticed you drooling while watching him yesterday,” Jimin intervenes, hinting that he’s been listening to them for a while now. He enters Taehyung's studio as he would enter his living room, and sits on the sofa with a long dramatic sigh. Most of the time, Jungkook finds himself looking at Jimin and wondering when does he ever work.

"No picture, no proof."

"I'm honestly too hungover to deal with this," Jungkook admits. That's an understatement. His hair is a tangled mess that sticks up in all directions. He's dressed in black pants, a back t-shirt, and a black bomber jacket from the previous night. His favorite pair of boots are on his feet, the ones that always make him trip but today RM was in the building, and Jungkook can't fall. Not now.

Someone whistles, and he turns his head to see Hoseok—the brilliant producer and director of Jack in The Box Ent.—standing in the doorway. He's technically their big boss, but Hoseok is so genuine and warm that it felt like they are working with a friend, which Jungkook believes he is. A friend. Sometimes he doubts it, because he's never been the type to have many friends— especially friends who share a love of music with him— besides him

Although they don’t talk to each other anymore, Jungkook still thinks about him . Frequently. It’s hard not to when literally everything linked to music makes him think of Suga.

Whenever he listens to RM's first mixtape released back in 2015, he recalls the lengthy debate he used to have about it with Suga . He recalls the demos he used to send to Jungkook for advice, as well as the rough lyrics Jungkook used to send back when he was stuck for words. They balanced each other out in a selfless way. But the truth is that Jungkook had no idea what Suga had become.

None.

He has no idea what his real name is. And, to be honest, Suga has no idea who Jungkook is either. He knows him as JK , the awkward shy kid who always wanted to work in music. Anonymity on the internet has always provided him with a level of safety that he did not have with real-life people. That's probably why he felt so at ease with Suga, and why they got along so well as friends, because they were just two guys on the internet who were passionate about music and didn't need anything else to connect.

Jungkook isn't sure how they went from responding to each other's Tumblr posts to exchanging phone numbers and talking almost every day.

It's a miracle they talked for so long, and in the end, Jungkook doesn't know much about him other than the fact that he's a man who lives in Daegu, enjoys music and cats.

But one thing is certain: Jungkook would recognize him based solely on his voice. His rapping voice.

His rapping skills were unmatched, and Jungkook believes he has rarely met anyone as good as him, even now that he works with professionals. Suga had the ideal combination of hard work and talent. He used to say the same thing about Jungkook's writing and singing voice, even though Jungkook was always skeptical. Damn insecurities.

The thing is, he still thinks about him a lot. Especially now that he's finally living his dream.

"Jungkook, you can come out from under the desk, Namjoon left," Hoseok says, and Jungkook gasps, ducking his head to come out.

Namjoon ? What are you two- are you friends?"

It wouldn't surprise him if that were the case. Hoseok is just so nice to sit and talk with, especially with music, he has a very unique perspective over it. Jungkook was initially drawn to him and his company because of his philosophy. When Jack in The Box was founded only a year ago, it was still a very small indie company. Jungkook took a huge risk by following his heart, and he believes he will never regret it. He's always been driven by feelings, and while they can play tricks on him at times, he's never felt the need to change that about himself.

"Not even close, he's still excessively polite, but you know me, give me a week and I'll make him come drink with us after work,” Hoseok says.

“Nice! Taehyung exclaims, "A new drinking buddy!"

"Let's hope he holds alcohol better than you," Jimin says with a grin to Hoseok, who scoffs back.

"Really, how long do you think I'll last before I make a fool of myself?" Jungkook inquires, sitting on the couch next to Jimin.

“Given the fact that I saw you cry a little bit when his last mixtape dropped, I'd say, five minutes at best,” Hoseok says.

“Fuck.” Jungkook sighs, eyes closed as he tips his head back. His headphones, which are wrapped around his neck, slip on his shoulders as he shifts. “There’s no way I can meet him.”

"Boo-hoo," is Taehyung’s response. “I live for cringe. Don’t take this fun away from me.”

“You’re living for my downfall.”

“My pleasure.”

He wonders how he would react if Jungkook told him that he was working in the same company as RM. RM, an artist that both he and Suga bonded over when they started talking 7 years ago.

Fuck.

It’s only right that his thoughts go to Suga again when Hoseok announces that he would like Jungkook to work on RM’s next project. “You want what ?”

“I thought you could work on some demos and lyrics for RM’s new mixtape. He pitched me the concept he has in mind, and I think you could add something great to the mix.”

Jungkook sits back up. “Are you…sure?”

“Jungkook, if I know anything about you, it’s that you’re a fucking hard worker, and talented at that,” Hoseok says as he approches, simply tapping on the desk to emphasize his words. “I know that it’s probably a lot, but I trust you enough.”

Jungkook stares down at his hands, blinking silently. Well. This morning takes on a special twist. This feels like a fever dream.

Seven years ago, 70% of his Tumblr account was dedicated to RM, and now, RM was literally down the hall where he works. Crazy. He occasionally visits his old Tumblr, just in case Twitter goes away. It hadn't been used for years. There's still discussions about RM's mixtapes, a cringey monologue about RM's muscles, and crumbs from his conversations with Suga.

Jungkook used to rant about his insecurities, saying that he didn't know how to work in music and that he should just give up. He mentioned it more than he'd like to admit, but Suga was there for him, believing in him, just as Hoseok does now, ready to kick him back into shape.

He'll never take it for granted.

//

"Oh, hey Yoongi hyung," Taehyung begins, causing Min Yoongi to come to a halt in the corridor. "Would you like to join us for Karaoke and drinks?" Tonight.”

"Nope," Yoongi says flatly, the tension in the air almost instantly dissipating. "Thank you."

"I appreciate your honesty. As usual."

"You're welcome," he says as he walked away, closing the door of his studio behind him

"I'll make him come one day," Taehyung says quietly, turning towards Jungkook. Jimin comes out of the bathroom and Hoseok is quietly scrolling on his phone, leaning on the wall.

"Let's bet," Jimin suggests.

"Let's not bet," Hoseok says, turning off his phone and putting it in his back pocket. "I never want to see Taehyung bald again. And by "never," I mean "never, ever."

"I look good no matter what," Taehyung frowns. He appears to be the only one who believes it.

"How come he never comes to drink with us?" Jungkook asks, pouting.

Min Yoongi is one of Jack in the Box Entertainment's first producers, and despite having worked here for a while, he remains a mystery to everyone, whether they have worked on a project with him or not. Jungkook never actually worked with him. The longest he's been in his presence was last month during a crisis reunion, when Hoseok ordered several body pillows that he thought were random neck pillows but were… uh… not it.

Anyways. Good time.

Min Yoongi is nothing more than a shadow. Jungkook occasionally sees him passing through the corridors late at night, when he leaves his studio that no one else knows the code for except him. When Jungkook is making coffee in their company's shared kitchen, he occasionally meets his gaze, but he tries not to anymore because it's so intense . And this can quickly escalate into a major issue.

Sure, Min Yoongi’s aura is very attractive, but Jungkook used to believe that Min Yoongi despised everyone, especially him, because he was so dry and unconventional. He turns out to be a genius recluse. And shy, according to Hoseok, who knows him best. Then Jungkook saw him in a completely different light.

"He occasionally joins me for a drink... Just not when you're here," Hoseok says.

"He's obviously racist,” Taehyung says with a click of his tongue.

"Or he's shy," Hoseok says.

"Or racist," Taehyung insists.

Hoseok shoves him out the way as they begin walking towards the exit. “Anyways, fun after work parties are not part of the job description so you can’t be mad that he doesn’t want to join us. Seokjin hyung never joins us either.”

Taehyung rolls his eyes with a smirk. “That's just because I make him nervous.”

Jungkook clears his throat. “You… made him throw up the first time you two met.”

See . Exactly. So impressed by me that he threw up. I’m flattered.”

Or , you were cutting an onion with your foot and he found it so disgusting that he vomited,” Jimin says.

Jungkook makes a disgusted face at that.

“Alright,” Hoseok says, tossing his bag into the back seats of his car. “Karaoke and drinks. No more talking about vomit.”

*

Their night starts out… suspiciously calm.

Taehyung is obviously the first to grab the microphone and force everyone to listen to him sing a highly debatable rendition of "All I Want For Christmas." Taehyung soon encourages Jimin to do the harmonies, which again, are debatable.

Hoseok's spiraling fast in only a matter of minutes. Jimin and Taehyung just keep pouring him drinks and pressing shots into his hand while smiling mischievously. Jungkook sips his soju, a terrified expression on his face. Then Taehyung loads up change pt2 on the karaoke screen, and Jungkook can't help but snatch the mic from Jimin's hands right away.

Jungkook isn't going to lie: hearing and singing it hurts. Even more so when he was drunk and lost in his feelings. It simply reminds him of a friend he lost to time. There was no one and nothing to blame except life.

Suga had been a huge presence in his life and then he just wasn't. Five years later he still doesn’t understand how he let things keep them apart. He didn't know why he didn't keep the messages going—by the time he realized it, it was too late. Things, people, and everything else change.

Suddenly, he realizes that the room’s a little blurrier than he would like it to be, and everything is happening really fast.

Maybe it's the alcohol that convinces him it's a good idea, but it's too late. Jungkook reaches for his phone, looking for that familiar but unused phone number. He doesn't even try to think of something clever to say; he just writes whatever comes to mind.

JK [3:21]

do you remember my rants about rm’s thighs???? i was NOT exaggerating.

Jungkook slams his face into the desk. "Please let me die."

Hoseok is quietly sliding the pages of Jungkook’s songwriting notebook. He appears extremely relaxed for a boss who is witnessing his employee suffer from a hangover and a mental breakdown at the same time. "Please don't do it. Who's going to come up with banger choruses for me?" Jungkook sends him a death glare. "-too soon? Sorry, please continue."

"Leave me to die," he whimpers into his arms.

"You already said that." It's amazing how quickly Hoseok can get drunk, but also how quickly he sobers up. You'd never guess he was twerking on the floor of the karaoke booth only a few hours ago by looking at him right now. "I can’t do that."

"Then stop me from drinking."

That I can do— Hey, is Taehyung okay?” Hoseok asks, nodding towards Taehyung passed out on the couch.

Jungkook just shrugs, pulling out his phone and opening the messages app to make sure he didn't dream. He can't wrap his head around the fact that he texted Suga while drunk. And how did he even get a response from Suga? HOW?

JK [3:21]

hhyung

do you remember my rants about rm’s thighs???? I was NOT exaggerating.

Suga [4:02]

We haven’t talked in years and this is how you start?

He considers this to be the most embarrassing thing he's done recently.

Suddenly, Taehyung seems to awaken, his spine stiffening, and Jungkook frowns, he knows what that means. "Oh god. "Please hold my hair."

Fortunately, Taehyung is here to take the title of most embarrassing person.

*

Jungkook appears to realize what he's done gradually throughout the day. And it's not getting any better.

He considers throwing his phone away, changing numbers, or blocking Suga. Anything to avoid facing him. He feels like he’s losing his mind. When they cross paths in the kitchen, Min Yoongi gives him a strange look, as anyone would if they found Jungkook staring blankly at an open fridge for two minutes straight.

He returns to his studio and turns on the screen of his phone. He mulls over how to get out of this conversation but doesn’t come up with a single one good way to do it. He types something that he believes will cut the conversation short. But it doesn't feel genuine.

Screw it.

Yes, they hadn't spoken in years, but Jungkook hopes that he can at least talk genuinely, hoping things haven't changed too much between them. Perhaps that is too idealistic. Suga's message, on the other hand, seem to imply that he remembers Jungkook. That is an excellent start. Jungkook would be extremely offended if he didn't.

JK [4:51]

that’s a very legitimate topic of discussion

you didn’t mind my rants about RM

Sent.

Suga [4:53]

I still don’t.

It just surprised me.

Jungkook looks down at his phone, blinking. Well. That’s probably going to be it , he thinks. What am I supposed to do now? Then he types something without giving it much thought, just like he usually does.

JK [4:53]

i’m still unpredictable

especially when I’m drunk, which was the case yesterday

sorry

Suga [4:54]

Ouch.

And here I thought you were trying to catch up in some way.

JK [4:55]

i wouldn’t mind

it’s been years

still got that midi keyboard you called your baby?

Suga [4:56]

Sure, I do.

And I see you’re still thirsting after RM.

JK [4:57]

i've calmed down a bit

you know

growing up and all

Suga [4:57]

Hm, sure.

What were your thoughts on RM's thighs in your first message? Care to develop?

JK [4:58]

you’re mean

Suga [4:59]

At your service.

//

It's amusing how easily they fall back into their friendship.

Jungkook can't say he expected it, but it feels great to talk to someone with whom he spent a significant portion of his late adolescence. Surprisingly, he realizes that little has changed. Suga retains his strict typing habits, deep love of music, and dry wit. And Jungkook's heart still flutters a little whenever they talk, which is ridiculous, really ridiculous, but he can't help himself.

He can't believe it when Suga tells him that he's producing music full-time, and Suga can't believe it either when Jungkook tells him that he also writes and composes music himself. It's then that Jungkook realizes how many years had passed. He can still see them both blindly driven by passion, not knowing how they'd make it... if they'd make it at all, and if it would make them happy. They're finally here.

“Knock, knock,” Hoseok says, slowly entering Jungkook’s studio.

“Hey– are you done with the demo production?” Jungkook asks. They had immediately begun working on RM's new music, even signing a non-disclosure agreement, and Jungkook has never been more excited.

“Hm, nearly. The bridge looks cute, right?” Hoseok asks, tilting his head at his computer. “I sent it to you so you can immerse yourself while writing.”

“Adorable.” Jungkook grins. “I’m almost finished writing the hook.”

“Alright, send me an email when you have something ready. Anything. You can put Yoongi in copy.”

Jungkook turns around. "Is he also working on the song?"

"He has a good idea and knowledge of the style RM wants for this mixtape. Something a little retro,  that could really help, as I'm not very good at that style."

Jungkook gives a nod. Despite his resolve to avoid Min Yoongi and his dark gaze, the prospect of collaborating with him on music sounds appealing. Hoseok's words were always filled with praise for Yoongi.

Jungkook lifts his legs onto his chair after Hoseok leaves the studio, running his fingers through his black hair. He grabs his songwriting notebook on his desk and opens it right away. He puts on some music on his speakers, and here, he feels at ease.

He spends hours writing and writing, safe in his own bubble. He can't remember ever writing so much at once. But all he does is spew the lyrics he's thinking onto the paper.

It's unusual for RM not to write his own lyrics, and it must mean a lot to him that he trusts Hoseok and his company enough to let them into his creative process. Jungkook is grateful because he does not want to disappoint anyone. When he sends the email to Hoseok, RM, and Yoongi, he knows he’s worked well, though he still has a stomach ache as he presses the send button.

He'll probably never get used to posting his lyrics for all to see, judge, and comment on. It's amazing, thrilling even, but also terrifying. Although the only person he wasn't afraid to show things to was Suga. Jungkook was always reassured by his comforting aura.

Someone knocks on his door, jolting him out of his reverie.

Jungkook double-checks to make sure he isn't imagining Min Yoongi standing outside his studio with a cup of coffee. And yes, it’s him. That never occurred before. Yoongi rubs the side of his neck awkwardly. "I'm sorry I—" he starts.

"No-no, it's fine," Jungkook says.

"I just saw your bridge."

“Already?” Jungkook asks. It makes sense. Min Yoongi is always in his studio, working. He must be extremely productive and responsive.

“Yeah. It's really good," he simply says. In his hands, he stirs his black coffee. "Did you write it on your own?" he asks, taking a sip of coffee.

"Yes, right now."

Yoongi nods once more. He appears to be about to say something else, but he stops. "Well done." And then he just walks away, closing the door behind him.

"Okay, but I think Seokjin-ssi wants to fuck me," Taehyung says, his lips slightly upturned in response to Jungkook's embarrassed expression. Jungkook grabs his notebook, attempting to forget they are even present, but both of them are deafeningly loud. And for what?

"Jesus Christ, Tae," Jimin mumbles as he sinks deeper into his hoodie. "He never said anything about wanting to fuck you."

"Did he tell you he wanted to fuck you?" Taehyung asks, a smile on his face.

"No but—"

“HA,” Taehyung says, pointing a finger at Jimin. “Then stop sowing the seeds of doubt. I can’t help that I’m the main character in this movie”

“Life is not a m—”

“Shhhhh— I can’t hear you, too much jealousy—”

Staying concentrated over a task is arguably the most difficult thing to do when you have a deadline over your head and two dumb coworkers bickering in your studio instead of theirs . The most uninteresting thing in the world suddenly becomes so interesting that jungkook can easily find himself staring for hours at a ladybug on his desk instead of working on the chorus he has to write for the end of the day.

Sometimes it’s tempting to not force things and just hope that tomorrow would be a productive day, yet he has a bad habit of being hard on himself, meaning not letting himself have rest until he’s reached his daily goals. Which he was far from right now.

Jungkook slides further into his chair, staring at the ceiling.

“So,” Hoseok says, staring at Jungkook from the entrance to his studio. “I would ask how you’re doing, but I think I know.”

Hoseok is on time, in a gigantic black hoodie and colored sunglasses. “I’m doing great, look,” Jungkook deadpans, looking at Hoseok, and sliding further into his chair until he's nearly laying down on the floor.

Hoseok gives him a little smirk, sliding his sunglasses on his nose. “Yoongi’s sick today, so the meeting is postponed. You can go to sleep.“

“Oh no.” Jungkook groans. What he actually means is 'Oh yes!' but he isn't going to be an ass. He straightens up onto his chair. “Is he okay, though?”

"Yeah, just a little fever. It must be even worse for him because he also pulled an all-nighter."

Oh, funny , Jungkook thinks, recalling that Suga have a fever as well. It must be the cold weather, as disease is spreading rapidly because of it; after all, it's already December.

Chapter 2

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Jimin doesn't have to try very hard to persuade Jungkook to help him with a song. Honestly, one look at his pretty pout and Jungkook never stood a chance in the first place. So he's getting ready for a full afternoon in Jimin's cosy studio, and he knows the latter doesn't take many breaks, so Jungkook makes a point of getting some coffee before heading to work. However, the coffee machine is broken.

The coffee pod rolls out of his hand as he tries to place it back inside the coffee machine, landing near someone else's feet. Min Yoongi’s to be exact. He’s standing in the middle of the kitchen, looking down at the pod on the ground. He then crouches down, his back gracefully arching as he reaches for the pod.

It's the first time he sees Min Yoongi moving for so long, and the thoughts racing through his mind are so obviously inappropriate that Jungkook can't believe it.

Yoongi grabs the pod, places it in Jungkook’s hand, and bolts out of the kitchen.

Jungkook remains rooted to the spot, perplexed but strangely endeared.

//

Some things remain the same even after years of not speaking. Jungkook still receives messages from Suga in the middle of the night, informing him that he has the same amount of insomnia as before, and to be honest, Jungkook has recently developed the habit of staying up late at night. Perhaps it's his fault.

Suga [2:28]

Are you up?

JK [2:29]

take a guess

Suga [2:30]

Can I have your opinion on something?

JK [2:32]

another prod?

hyung, you need to sleep sometime

Suga [2:32]

No.

Just a question.

JK [2:32]

shoot

Suga [2:33]

Do you find me awkward?

Wait, let me rephrase that.

When we first started talking, did you find me awkward?

JK [2:33]

that was a long time ago hyung

Suga [2:34]

Are you saying you don’t remember?

JK [2:34]

no no i do recall actually

you’re pretty much the same now i think

not awkward, but a bit introverted and mysterious

Suga [2:35]

You’re saying that because you know me a bit more now.

But the very first time we talked, what did you think of me?

It's embarrassing, but Jungkook remembers nonetheless. That doesn't mean he's dead set on telling Suga the whole truth. Nobody gets hurt by a little white lie.

If you asked Jungkook when he realized he was gay, you'd expect him to say it was because of Kim Namjoon. But, as lovely and talented as RM is, he was not Jungkook's gay awakening. No, because it’s a certain Suga that hit him square in the face with that realization. Jungkoot didn't know how it happened at the time, only that he fell flat on his face and never recovered.

But in all that time they went without speaking, Jungkook figured out a few things. He recalls Suga telling him about his boyfriend at the time, and Jungkook recalls being startled by this new sensation, so strange but rooted in his chest. Perhaps jealousy? Combined with something else? In retrospect, it makes sense that Jungkook's first impression of Suga on Tumblr was that he was cool and charming, and that he felt an immediate need to impress him.

Yeah, it definitly makes sense.

JK [2:38]

i thought you were cool

Suga [2:38]

Sounds fake.

JK [2:39]

no really

i remember you answering one of my post with a whole essay explaining me your interpretation of forever rain

how you thought the song was comparing pouring rain to a friend knocking and left u speechless

Suga [2:40]

Embarrassing.

No, endearing, Jungkook thinks.

JK [2:41]

why the question though

Suga [2:41]

I don’t know.

Just thought about it.

JK [2:41]

randomly at 2am?

you can lie to someone else hyung

Suga [2:42]

There’s just this guy.

Jungkook clutches his phone tightly to his chest, unable to close his eyes. As much as Jungkook tries not to admit it, he can't help but notice the same tightness in his chest that he felt years ago, creeping up on him. And no matter how hard he tries not to give in, it's impossible. It is, however, stupid. He's never met Suga, mostly because he refused for reasons Jungkook still doesn't understand. They haven't spoken in years, and Suga probably had so many boyfriends at the time that it makes no sense for Jungkook to feel that way after so many years.

JK [2:42]

what guy

Suga [2:43]

Someone I work with.

I feel like he might find me awkward.

I don’t know.

JK [2:44]

why do u care

you like him?

Suga [2:44]

You’re right.

Forget about it.

JK [2:45]

???

...seriously? no come-back? no witty retort? no... sarcastic shot at me?

come on, hyung ??

Jungkook is staring at the ceiling of his bedroom, at the glowing sticky stars he placed there when he first moved into his Seoul apartment and couldn't sleep. The darkness brought all of his insecurities to the surface and had a way of making him feel as if he always got things wrong. The light helps. But they don't make him feel any better right now.

It isn’t the first time Suga mentions someone he likes. If there's one thing they've always had in common, it's that they could trust each other with anything, without any judgment. And that's how they used to tell each other anything, even such intimate details. However, this is the first time Suga has dismissed it. And Jungkook can't help but think it's because something is different this time. He has no idea what it is.

//

"Don't look so wounded, Tae, I'm sorry," Jungkook says. Jungkook is aware that if he turns his head, he will see Taehyung dramatically staring down at his shoes. "Seokjin-hyung will be sharing my studio for a while. Sorry. I would have fixed his power outage if I had known how."

“He’s the love of my life,” Taehyung mutters. “You’re a jerk.”

“Jungkook-ah,” a voice from over his office door.

Taehyung immediately turns his head, straightening up on his chair. “Seokjin hyung? Crazy seeing you here. Have you possibly come to see me?”

Kim Seokjin spares Taehyung a disgusted look. Jin’s hands are full with a box of his things. Jungkook looks away, busies himself with his notebook, anything to keep him occupied, but he can still feel the electric athmosphere.

“I’m working,” Jin deadpans. “I’m just dropping some stuff here.”

A quick look at Tae’s face shows the blood draining from his face so rapidly. “Are you sure it’s not because I left—” Taehyung manages weakly.

“— that piece of pie on my desk?”

Taehyung’s eyes widen comically. “How do you know it was from me?”

“It made my whole studio smell like onion. Disgusting.” Seokjin drops his box on Jungkook’s desk and turns around. “Don’t come back into my studio, ever.” The door slams behind him.

“He’s obviously whipped,” Taehyung whispers, voice dripping with mischievousness

Jungkook ignores him. There is a moment of silence before Jungkook jumps in shock as he sees Taehyung’s eyes staring back at him just below his notebook. He closes it.

“Uh, yeah? I guess?” Jungkook confirms uncertainly, leaning back against his chair.

“He’s still shaken by the onion incident, but one day he will realize our obvious compatibility and the value of my gifts. And by then—”

“Maybe he’s just disgusted by onions…. and you by extension.”

“You are supposed to be on my side,” Taehyung exclaims in outrage, straightening up from his slumped position in his chair.

“Of course I am but—”

“—no, first you offer him to move into your studio, and now you’re spreading negative vibes upon our relationship.”

“WHAT relationship?” Jungkook asks lifting his hands and Taehyung gasps in outrage.

“Bye,” Taehyung says abruptly, ducking out of the office. Taehyung comes back five seconds later to grab his phone that he left on the desk. “Traitor,” he whispers by the door frame before disappearing from sight once again.

Jungkook sighs in exasperation, grabbing his phone.

JK [4:45]

penny for your thoughts? hell. a dollar? ten? fifty?

Suga [4:46]

I’m going to die.

JK [4:46]

you are not going to die.

Suga [4:47]

I am.

JK [4:48]

what is it about

Suga [4:48]

I spent the last two nights working on a prod for work.

I unintentionally deleted it.

JK [4:49]

o fuckkk

Suga [4:49]

Yeah.

JK [4:50]

well

if that makes you feel better, i have a deadline and i’m so uninspired it’s crazy

probably also because my coworker keeps distracting me

Suga [4:50]

I know the feeling.

There’s someone from work who keeps insisting I go out with the team. But he’s always distracting me while working.

JK [4:51]

is it the guy you like ?

Jungkook is still clutching his phone, refreshing the conversation for at least five minutes straight. He quietly regrets bringing it up again, but eventually, a response comes.

Suga [4:55]

No.

He’s part of the team, though.

JK [4:56]

you should definitely go out with your team someday then

if you’re scared he finds you awkward

Suga [4:57]

I don’t know how that could play to my advantage.

I would be in his presence longer, so statistically, I'd be more awkward.

JK [4:56]

hyung you’ll have to be near him eventually

why does it look like it’s your first crush when i know it’s not

i remember about jaehyun

Suga [4:58]

We don’t. Talk. About. Jaehyun.

Jungkook can’t help but giggles to himself.

JK [4:59]

alright

that song about him still exists somewhere though

Suga [4:59]

Nice talk.

JK [5:00]

hyung?

Suga [5:00]

Yeah

Jungkook takes a deep breath, his fingers tipping way faster than what’s going through his mind.

JK [5:01]

we don't have to talk about it if you don't want to

but it'd be cool to meet you some time now

Jungkook does not want to keep his nose buried in his phone. He returns to work after more than ten minutes of waiting for a response. He leaves his phone on the desk; a part of him wishes he could hear the sound of an incoming text message from his phone, but the rational side of him knows he won't.

It's similar to the last time Jungkook asked Suga to meet up, when they were still talking to each other. Except Yoongi had stated that he lived in Daegu and couldn't afford to pay for the meeting. Jungkook had let it go, but he still felt it was an easy excuse. Or maybe he wasn’t understanding enough.

But if he's learned anything from Taehyung and his crush on Seokjin these days, it's that forcing things never works. So Jungkook puts down his phone and leans back in his chair, accepting his fate.

//

"I don't know why you're all looking at me—I've never made a mistake."

Seokjin leans over to get a look at the screen of his computer, careful to preserve a certain distance between them. "I can name three from this morning alone."

“Oh. My god,” Jungkook says, hands dropping over his keyboard. “If I had known you would be like my father I would not have offered to share my studio with you.”

“Too late,”  Jin mumbles, carelessly grabbing jungkook’s coffee mug on the desk. Jungkook grabbed the mug out of his hands, gaping at him.

“That’s my coffee. Taehyung's right. I should’ve let him beg you to share his studio.”

Seokjin scoffs viciously. “And let him make my life a living hell? You’re not that cruel Jungkook-ah.

Jungkook sits up straighter, “I’m pretty sure he wants to make your life anything but a living hell.”

“What do you mean?” Jin asks, eyebrows furrowed.

“Well the guy obviously loves you.”

“Whoa whoa whoa,” Jin waves his hands in a manner that is clearly meant to calm him, obviously a little shocked. “Where did you get that from?” Jin demands, clearly flustered.

Jungkook looks at him like he’s grown two heads. “Because he’s giving you gifts.”

“No he’s trying to poison me with a disgusting pie.”

“Are you for real?” Jungkook says, and he’s only met with Seokjin’s confused expression. “Jesus. Okay,” he clears his throat, scooting his chair closer to Seokjin. “Tae’s not a good cook, that’s fair, but that pie… that was him trying to gift you something.”

“And what about him cutting that onion with his foot? You can’t tell me that’s—”

“That’s by definition the only talent he has. He probably tried to impress you. ”

Jin buries his head in his hands, and Jungkook hears a pathetic sad groan. “I was pretty sure he knew I was allergic to onions and wanted to annoy me. Mother fucking Kim Taehyung.”

“I can assure you that he does not know it.”

“Um. I’m… just gonna come back… later,” Seokjin says, backing away from the studio nervously.

Jungkook returns to his usual spot on his couch, opens his notebook, and attempts to finish the lyrics of that song while the studio is quiet. Hoseok is working with Yoongi, Taehyung has been working on a new project and hasn't been around, and Jimin is on a late lunch break. It's now or never.

By the time Jungkook finishes the lyrics, it's time for their usual night out as a group. When he closes his studio, he finds everyone in the corridor getting ready to leave. And when he says "everyone," he means it. Min Yoongi is awkwardly standing next to Hoseok, and Seokjin is clutching Taehyung's arm as if it's the first time he's seen him. For a moment, Jungkook feels like he’s having a fever dream. He almost asks Jimin to pinch his arm but Jimin is already tackling him with a tight hug and an embarrassing loud kiss to his cheek.

Thirty minutes later, Jungkook is sitting on the sofa, his phone carelessly tossed on the small table of the karaoke bar for more sitting room, and watching Taehyung serenade Seokjin with a very high pitched reedition of It's You by Henry Lau while Seokjin dramatically wipes fake tears from his cheeks.

For now, nothing very shocking

This scene almost makes him forget that his thigh is firmly pressed against a certain Min Yoongi.

Almost.

He's right next to him and hasn't said anything the entire evening. But every time Jungkook meets his gaze, he gets the impression that he doesn't want to be talked to. Hoseok, on the other hand, doesn't seem to mind, casually slapping Yoongi's thigh and causing Yoongi to flinch back.

"I'm so glad you finally came," Hoseok says, his usual bright smile beaming. "Thank goodness you found that demo song in your basket, or you'd have had an excuse not to come. Am I correct?"

Yoongi scratches the back of his neck. “Yeah…”

“What song ?" Jungkook jumps in, squinting at them while taking a sip of soju.

“Just a song I thought I had lost,”  Yoongi admits, shrinking back in his chair.

“Oh?” Jungkook perks up at that. “Is it for RM’s project?”

Yoongi nods, looking him in the eyes for the first time that evening, and Jungkook notices the back of his neck prickle under such a deep gaze.

"It's fine," Jungkook assures, sensing Yoongi's discomfort at admitting his error. "It can happen to the best of us; it happened to a friend of mine. I think he misplaced the song he had been working on for so long."

"I know it’s fine, but that doesn't mean I'm not frustrated.” Yoongi shrugs.

“Fair.”

“Jungkook-ah,” Taehyung calls him, handing him the mic. “It’s your turn.”

“Okay, but only if Yoongi-ssi choses which song I’ll be singing.”

Yoongi freezes, eyes wide and fearful, pointing a finger at himself and asking, “Me?”

“Yes, you.” Jungkook grins.

Jungkook realizes he must be deliriously tipsy. He isn’t usually this forward. At least he seems to finally be getting somewhere towards the friendly side with Min Yoongi.

“It can be anything,” Jungkook adds with a shrug. “Your favorite song perhaps?”

“You probably don’t know it,” Yoongi whispers.

“Can’t know if you don’t tell me,” Jungkook answers with a small smile, reaching for his glass of soju.

“Forever rain, then.” Jungkook freezes mid-sip. He coughs, choking down on some soju. “Are you okay?” Yoongi asks, gently taking the cup from his hand.

Jungkook nods silently, catching his breath. “Just… took me by surprise. Made me think of… nevermind. Yes, I know that song, obviously.”

Jungkook picks up the tablet and clicks on the song, then a slow piano begins blaring over the speakers. Jungkook stands up.

Jungkook raises the mic back to his mouth and begins to sing. After the first notes, Jungkook sees Yoongi’s expression soften considerably. As the song progresses, Jungkook forgets he’s even in the room with everyone, closing his eyes as he sings every note with precision.

When the song ends, a waiter enters holding a tray of fried chicken, and that's his cue to stop singing.

“Alright, I'm done for the night,” Jungkook jokes.

As the waiter closes the door, Jungkok returns to the couch, reaching for the bottle of soju. Because getting drunker is the obvious way to avoid thinking about that song and allowing his thoughts to drift towards Su—

“That was beautiful,” Yoongi says, snapping him out of his thoughts. Jungkook looks at him and smiles shyly.

“Thank you.”

“No, really,” Yoongi insists, scratching the back of his neck like he wants to say more but just sighs as he drops his hand back onto his lap. “I mean, that song means a lot to me, lyrically speaking, and… your interpretation left me speechless. I didn’t know you could also sing.”

He’s never heard Min Yoongi talk for that long. He's never listened to Min Yoongi for that long. But Jungkook finds himself curious about what he has to say. There's definitely more to him than what he lets on. Definitely.

“Yes… I dabble…” Jungkook lets out.

Yoongi nods, not insisting as everyone else would if they knew you were good at something but were hiding it. And Jungkook is grateful.

He hasn't talked much to Yoongi, but the few times he has left him with the impression of being with a long-lost friend. If you ignore the fact that he was more than a little attractive. Nonetheless, a long-time friend. An attractive long-time friend. Jungkook takes a sip of his soju. Yoongi may be more than a little attractive, with his long black hair and soft pale skin, and Jungkook is only now realizing it.

But he can't help but feel a pang of guilt in the back of his mind.

When Jungkook wakes up in the morning the next day, he immediately grabs his phone. It had been a sleepless night. Jungkook's thoughts were racing at full speed, nonstop.

Jungkook rests his phone on his chest and stares blankly at the illuminated stars on his ceiling before opening the message app. Who cares if he's still drunk from the night before as he types those messages? He's well aware that he doesn't make the best decisions when he's drunk.

Jungkook gives himself the rest of the morning to mope and wallow in pity. He’s a few hours late for work because he had to visit three different stores to get some hangover syrup. He senses something is wrong the moment he walks through the door into the unusually quiet office. Even through his haze, he can feel it.

He walks cautiously to his desk, shaking a strand of hair from behind his eyes. He scans the area around him before lowering himself into his seat. A high pitched giggle echoes in the distance, or perhaps closer, and it sounds just like Taehyung's.

That's when it all comes together.

Jin's belongings are nowhere to be found in his studio, indicating that he has most likely moved out. Jungkook exhales deeply as he leans back in his chair. The day did not begin well, but this news alone made it a little better.

"Hey," a voice, Yoongi's voice, says behind him, and Jungkook is startled to the point of hitting his knee on his desk.

“Fuck.”

“Sorry, I keep startling you,” Yoongi says, slowly approaching his desk. “I came so we could work a bit on our demo, adapt your lyrics or the prod, just to see what fits, you know,” Yoongi rambles.

“Of course,” Jungkook says, sliding a chair next to his. Yoongi takes place and opens his laptop.

There’s a moment of silence where Jungkook carefully chews his bottom lip, eyes flicking back and forth between Yoongi and his laptop, then finally over to Yoongi.

Jungkook takes a larger-than-necessary sip of his drink to gain a few seconds. "To be honest, today has been a bit of a down day for me." Jungkook pauses and picks at his nails. "So, I apologize in advance if I'm not reactive enough or... yeah. I'll do my best" Then he takes out his own notebook.

Yoongi's silence causes him to turn his head, only to find him looking directly at him. Yoongi lowers his gaze as he licks his lips slowly.

“Actually, me too. So… no worries.”

Jungkook smiles at him and Yoongi slowly smiles back, ducking his face. It’s shy, and it’s also the first time Jungkook actually sees a smile on his face. But now he wished Yoongi would smile more frequently. The way it brightens his face is endearing.

Jungkook grins as he watches Yoongi read over the lyrics he scribbled down in his notebook those past days. Nothing else matters to Jungkook but the expression on Yoongi’s face. And when Yoongi lowers the notebook and silently hands it back to Jungkook, he knows he must like it.

“You’re amazing, have I said it before?” Yoongi asks bluntly with a laugh. And it’s so unexpected that Jungkook stills for a second, then slowly shakes his head.

“Well, shit,” Jungkook lets out. “I thought you’d be really hard to please… you.. I don’t know, you just seem like a hard worker, aiming for perfection. I was getting ready to defend each of these lyrics from your critics, I guess,” Jungkook admits as Yoongi fell silent, scraping his thumbnail across his bottom lip repeatedly.

“You’re right.” Yoongi runs a hand through his hair, then sighs. “But no need to contradict a work that is already very close to being perfect. I know how to stay humble.” He then gestures to the book in Jungkook’s hands. “You have a way with words that’s actually really familiar to me… it’s um.. a compliment.”

“Thank you.” Jungkook smiles. “Maybe you can let me hear the prod,” Jungkook adds. “And we can get inspiration for the melody.”

“Go,” Yoongi says, grabbing his computer mouse and searching for his file. “I’m—like, uh… still working on it. So there will be some opposite vibes, different—um, stuff. It’s still pretty rough, definitely a work-in-progress. But please look forward to it and—”

There’s a deep bass blaring through the speaker along with a rough voice rapping on that track. For a moment Jungkook is confused, but he lets himself listen to it and then his head whips towards the computer at the same time the song stops. But Jungkook tries to read as much as he can of the title on the screen before going cross-eyed.

“Sorry–that wasn’t—that was a solo project, I wasn’t supposed to open this one.”

Jungkook slumps back into his chair, eyes wide open. This voice. This rapping voice, he would recognize it anywhere. Anywhere.

“It’s really good, Yoongi-ssi,” Jungkook assures him, trying to catch his eye to emphasize his sincerity. “Really good. Is it… yours?”

“Um, yeah. I’m just—”

Jungkook feels dumb for a second as everything makes sense in front of his eyes now.

Min Yoongi who asked him to sing Forever rain on karaoke yesterday, the same song that Suga so deeply loves. Min Yoongi who lost his song that he’s been working on for days, the same way Suga unintentionally deleted his song. Min Yoongi who was sick the week before, strangely at the same time as Suga. Min Yoongi who never goes out with the team, but does, right after Jungkook told Suga he should go out with his team some day.

Jungkook stifles a chuckle, like he can’t even believe what he’s about to say. “You seem to be a man of many gifts,” he says, whispering like it’s a secret between them, “Suga.”

Yoongi’s head whips around so fast that his neck actually cracks. “What… ?” Yoongi stares at him in a state of disbelief, but Jungkook doesn't budge. Slowly, Yoongi seems to look at him, really look at him, then his mouth opens to form a little ‘o’.”

“JK?”

Not even four hours ago, Jungkook was wallowing in pity, sad that he’ll never get to meet Suga. And now here was Suga, also being Min Yoongi, and somehow being everything he’s ever imagined him being.

Jungkook doesn’t say a word, stares directly into Yoongi’s eyes that seem far less vulnerable than a few minutes ago. Now, more than ever, he wanted to cry. He wanted to shake Yoongi and ask why, why he had thought that meeting him would ever be a bad idea.

Without thinking twice about his gesture, Jungkook wraps his arms around Yoongi’s shoulders in a mixture of frustrated fury and overwhelming fondness blooming in the center of his chest. Yoongi wraps his arms around him as well, even though the position might be uncomfortable, and squeezes back.

“I knew those lyrics seemed familiar,” Yoongi whispers and Jungkook detaches himself from him to directly look at him. At the slope of his nose, the blush on his cheeks, the shininess on his lips. He’s always found Min Yoongi attractive. But now that he knows Yoongi’s also the person he had feelings for in the past, and also the one he might be on his way to have feelings for again, it’s different.

It can’t be anything but different.

“Hyung. Did–did you know?” Jungkook asks.

“No,” Yoongi breathes, shaking his head, eyes shining with worry. “I would’ve told you—I just— thought some things were familiar in you… that’s all. Now it makes sense.”

Jungkook lets out a clipped sigh, closing his eyes. He’s overwhelmed, but it’s all fleeting. How can he remain out of control when he can finally hold Yoongi like this?

“I’m glad it’s you,” Jungkook whispers. “I’m so mad, but I’m so glad it’s you.”

“What?” Yoongi whispers back.

“You really worried me when you told me you didn’t want to meet,” Jungkook admits, eyes glazing at his phone on the desk for a second before looking back at Yoongi. “But you have nothing to be afraid of, Hyung. I’m so glad you’re you.”

“But you probably think I’m—”

“I think you’re great. And I stand by what I said previously, through texts to Suga, and in real life to Min Yoongi. They’re the same person and I’m not disappointed. How–how could you…” Jungkook shakes his head in disbelief. He can’t wrap his mind around what went through Yoongi’s mind to ever think he’d be a disappointment.

Before Yoongi can respond, Taehyung emerges from his closet, which is located behind Yoongi. He hears a soft 'ouch!' and then Seokjin's face appears from the darkness of the closet's interior.

They both look awful. Hair is a mess, sticking up in all directions. Lips pink and shiny, shirts wrinkled. Jungkook almost wants to look away because the scene in front of him implies that something explicit happened in his closet. HIS CLOSET.

Taehyung’s eyes are wild and terrified, and Yoongi is looking just as shocked to be honest.

“So… yes… this is… what you guys think it is.”

Jungkook raises a brow. “Not even going to deny it?”

“Nope.” Taehyung emphasizes the ‘p’ then grabs Seokjin's hand to walk out of the studio. “We didn’t hear anything of what you guys were saying by the way, bye.”

“Me neither,” Jungkook says, then repeats. “Me neither? That’s weird how did—”

“Seokjin hyung isn't really a screamer,” Yoongi replies, then freezes on the spot while Jungkook frowns.

“How do… you know that piece of information?”

“They were in MY closet yesterday.”

“Fuck. Of course.”

//

Against all odds, Jungkook has not yet run away from his office. The moment he looks away from RM’s face to look at his thighs could be his death, though. Don't look down, don't look down. Pull it together.

“RM… You're… in my studio?” Jungkook asks.

Jungkook is so startled by the fact that RM is standing in his studio that he doesn’t even know how to act. Namjoon looks mildly terrified of his surroundings, and who could blame him honestly, when from the corridor they could see a screaming Jimin running after Taehyung.

“Call me Namjoon,” Namjoon says plainly with a breathy laugh, and that’s when Jungkook finally snaps out of it. He inhales sharply, comes out from behind his desk, and then bows to Namjoon ninety degrees.

Namjoon laughs, taking another step away from the door. It’s then that Jungkook's face splits into a radiant smile, and he bows again.

Yoongi coughs in his fist from his position on the couch, catching everyone’s attention in the room. There’s something jarring about the way Yoongi is looking at him. It makes him feel completely exposed, but not in a bad way.

Yoongi has been frequently seen with Jungkook at his studio since a few weeks ago. The two quickly became inseparable, not only because of their friendly affinity, which they already knew, but also because of their professional affinity, which was unexpected but very much welcomed.

“I really hope I didn’t interrupt,” Namjoon says with sincerity. Jungkook shakes his head.

“It’s fine. I was just brainstorming with—” he trails off as Yoongi interrupts him.

“—We were working.”

Jungkook looks at Yoongi with wide eyes, then back at Namjoon in panic. “It’s fine, Namjoon-ssi. You can take a seat.”

Namjoon nods, pursing his lips. Then he lets out a little breath, as he sits down. “I won’t be long, I just wanted to thank you for your hard work until now. Hoseok sent me some demos and I was pleasantly surprised.” Namjoon says breathily, eyes sparkling in wonderment.

“Oh?” Jungkook’s eyes smile before it reaches his lips. “That’s—”

“Thank you,” Yoongi deadpans, crossing his arms over his chest.

“And you have a nice voice Jungkook-ssi,” Namjoon continues in a soft voice, like he isn’t quite sure how much he should divulge. Yoongi snickers loudly and crosses one leg over the other.

“Just nice? He could totally be an Idol,” Yoongi argues, squinting his eyes.

Jungkook raises an eyebrow at him. “I’m doing much better as a songwriter,” he says in a dismissive fashion with a shrug.

“No, he’s right.” Namjoon gives Jungkook a lopsided smile. “You clearly have something. I didn’t mean to downplay it.”

“Yeah,” Yoongi lets out, lips pursed, and Jungkook’s jaw drops in disbelief.

“Namjoon-ssi, it’s okay. You did nothing wrong, really.”

“Alright, then” Namjoon stands up, and Jungkook rockets to his feet as well. “I really appreciate your work, I’ll leave you to it, then. Thank you. I really like your piercings by the way.”

“Ah. Thanks,” Jungkook says, rather proud as he touches his lip piercing with the tip of his fingers while Namjoon walks away. “It was nice to meet you. I really am a huge fan.”

Jungkook stares after his broad, retreating figure so intently that he almost forgets Yoongi’s still in the room. Jungkook turns around to glare at him.

“Hyung! You didn’t have to be so impolite.”

Far from looking intimidated, Yoongi looks extremely pleased, and shrugs. “He was being unprofessional.”

Jungkook chews his lip in frustration, trying for a few moments to formulate a counterargument. “Yoongi Hyung, I adore you, but you were acting like a second-grade boy just a moment ago”

Yoongi shoots him a skeptical look.

“You’d never talk to Namjoon like that, you’re a fan too, that is unless…” Jungkook mumbles under his breath, cocking his head to the side. “Unless…You... He... He’s the one you have a crush on... Look…"

It would be a lie to say that Jungkook did not consider this mysterious crush more than once. He initially assumed it was Jimin, who checks all the boxes: he is a member of the team and is embarrassed by Yoongi. But now that he'd seen Yoongi acting like a child in front of Namjoon, it seemed much more likely that it’s him.

Yoongi snarls in disgust. “No. He’s not– No way. He is an enemy.”

Jungkook squints his eyes in thought. “Enemy?”

“Fuck. Why… does it have to be you?” Yoongi whispers to himself, running a hand down his face.

“What are you talking about?” Jungkook asks evenly, trying to ignore the unpleasant sensation of blood draining from his face.

“It’s you. I like you… a stupid amount.”

Jungkook scoffs. “You’re saying that like it’s obvious.”

Yoongi blinks at him thrice in a row, like Jungkook’s grown two heads. “You’re still scolding me after I’m telling you that I like you?”

“Yes,” Jungkook insists, crossing his arms on his chest, and Yoongi looks confused as hell. “And I like you too.”

“Jesus Christ,” Seokjin despairs, stopping by the entrance of Jungkook’s studio. “Me getting with Taehyung was less dramatic than whatever you two are doing.”

“Fuck off, Hyung,” Yoongi lets out and Seokjin gasps in outrage.

“Don't be surprised if something ever happens inside your closet again,” he lets out while walking away.

“Don’t you dare.”

There’s kind of a stillness that hangs in the air, like when someone reveals things to another, but none of them acknowledge them.

Yoongi is always quick to joke around with Jungkook, but at the same time, he’s the sincerest person ever. And if he isn't wrong, Yoongi is just as sincere as he is right now.

Jungkook proceeds to his couch with caution, sitting down next to Yoongi while running a hand through his wavy hair. He feels immensely unsettled that he doesn’t know what to say, but his heart tells him to at least be close to Yoongi. So, he does.

“Shouldn’t you be asking questions?” Yoongi asks, looking confused.

“I think I’ve connected the dots.”

“You didn’t connect shit.”

“I did. I’m the coworker you have a crush on, am I right?” Jungkook says and Yoongi immediately lowers his head. "Hey, I told you I liked you, have you forgotten?" Jungkook gently places a hand on his lap and squeezes it. “I am in fact head over heels for Suga, and since it’s you…”

“What about… Min Yoongi? What did you think of him?” he asks in a whisper.

“Cute eyes, nice smile, beautiful ass—” Jungkook stops when Yoongi slaps his thigh playfully.

“You’re ridiculous,” Yoongi says, looking away, blush blooming on his cheeks.

“Would you have coffee with me, Hyung?” Jungkook asks, he doesn’t remember ever being this straightforward, but he knows how much time he lost spent pining over Suga, and now that everything’s within reach, there was no time to lose. “I can also show you some of my lyrics I’ve been working on…”

“Of course. Whatever you want.”

Jungkook swallows, unable to tear his eyes away from Yoongi’s slightly parted lips. His hand slides further up on his thighs until one reaches the back of his neck and the other cups the side of his face. Yoongi leans in first and before Jungkook realizes it, he’s leaving a soft peck on his lips. And it’s all Jungkook ever dreamed of.
